Media Convergence

This paper describes the development of a digital evangelization strategy
from the perspective of an external digital organizational communication that allows linking the Catholic Community “Quédate con Nosotros” (Stay With Us), located in the states of Querétaro and Jalisco, Mexico, with its current and potential followers. Methodologically, the strategy is designed based on the diagnosis —using techniques such as interviews and surveys— as well as the analysis of social network metrics. With this information, the strategic objectives, target audience profiles, and channels in three social networks are built. As a result, publication is planned taking into  account specific objectives and actions that consider three publication categories: informative, promotional, and entertainment. In addition, the periodicity of the evaluation is established. With this journey, it is concluded that it is feasible to build evangelization strategies in digital environments that familiarize current and potential followers with life, motivations, and religious activities in general. Thus, it is intended to bring religion closer to everyday environments and make it both accessible to everyone and feasible to be integrated into people’s lives, as stated in the objectives of the organization.

La interactividad en el periódico digital ║ Alejandro Rost Revisar las teorías y los autores que han contribuido a crear una teoría sobre el periodismo, y en particular, el periodismo digital. Puntualizar las características distintivas del nuevo medio en la construcción de la actualidad. This study examines how virtual reality (VR) cinema transforms spectatorship, embodiment, and narrative engagement through a phenomenological analysis of Darkening (Ondřej Moravec, 2022), a VR film exhibited at the Czech National Film Museum (NaFilm). VR cinema places the audience inside the film’s world, fostering narrative embodiment through interactive and spatial storytelling. In Darkening, viewers engage in actions such as reaching for objects, responding to auditory prompts, and navigating a virtual environment, creating a fluid relationship between observation and participation. The museum setting enhances this experience by introducing a paradox of asynchronous co-presence, where the solitary nature of VR engagement contrasts with the implied presence of other viewers. This study introduces a three-stage framework consisting of experiential chronology, embodied interactivity, and cognitive reflexivity to analyze how VR cinema reshapes meaning-making and viewer agency. This research combines film phenomenology and narrative theory to demonstrate how VR cinema expands the boundaries of storytelling, interactivity, and presence, offering a profoundly affective and participatory cinematic experience in museum contexts.

Analisamos as origens das fotografias utilizadas por veículos jornalísticos, com especial atenção àquelas produzidas pelos usuários. Estudos de Näsi (2015) e Runge (2021) apontam a oferta de imagens, por parte dos usuários, aos veículos jornalísticos, na cobertura de acontecimentos imprevistos, mas também buscando redução de custos e engajamento do público. A pesquisa é de cunho exploratório (Bonin, 2008), e parte da observação e análise das imagens publicadas ao longo de dois dias pela Folha de S. Paulo e pelo G1. Quantificamos e categorizamos as 5.621 fotografias encontradas, separando-as em com ou sem custo e buscando identificar a origem. Os dados indicam que pouco menos da metade das fotos são custeadas pelos veículos e a outra metade obtida sem custos, a partir, principalmente, de assessorias, redes sociais e arquivos pessoais. Sugerem que há mais busca por redução de custos do que construção de um trabalho em colaboração com o público, podendo levar à perda do controle do discurso/narrativa visual veiculado.

Análise historiográfica do papel do rádio do Rio Grande do Sul durante a enchente de 2024. Considera a vigência  da  fase  histórica  de  convergência  (Ferraretto,  2012)  e  a  consolidação  crescente  do  processo  de  hibridização (Ferraretto, 2024). Constata que as emissoras forneceram conteúdos informativos, interpretativos,  opinativos  e  utilitários  (Melo;  Assis,  2010).  Aventa  a  possibilidade  de  que,  ao  fazê-lo, tenham compensado, em parte, a ausência de planejamento em relação ao gerenciamento de crises (Lima, 2020; Oliveira,  2007),  à  comunicação  governamental  e  à  comunicação  pública  (Duarte,  2011).  Em  um  contexto  de  carência de energia elétrica e de sinal de internet, destaca a importância do telefone celular, na produção e transmissão de conteúdo, e do aparelho de rádio transistorizado e à pilha, na sua recepção. Para compreender tais iniciativas em um contexto de crise climática, lança mão da economia política da comunicação (Mosco, 1996) e, em especial, da história das instituições (Schudson, 1993).

Vom Comic über die filmische Adaption bis hin zur Bandai-Puppe: Das Kapitel beleuchtet Formen der Aneignung und Rezeption von Popmusik aus systematisch-klassifikatorischer Perspektive am Beispiel von Billie Eilishs »Bad Guy«. Auf einschlägige Arbeiten der Trans- und Intermedialitätsforschung aufbauend, wird eine Typologie der transmedialen Rezeptionsweise erarbeitet. Auf diese Weise offenbart sich Transmedialität weniger als Theorie denn Methode, nämlich als das In-Beziehung-Setzen von verschiedenen Medientexten.

O presente artigo trata do uso da hipermídia em formato de Ambiente Virtual de Ensino-aprendizagem (AVEA), no processo de mediação tecnológica das atividades didáticas do professor, na Educação a Distância ou presencial. O objetivo é justificar a necessidade de formação dos professores, visando atualizar e aprimorar sua prática, como professor-autor e professor-tutor, com os recursos hipermídia disponíveis no AVEA.

Este artigo parte de um projeto de pesquisa de doutorado em jornalismo em que se pretende desenvolver um estudo que reflete sobre as contradições do jornalismo esportivo, sobretudo o que trata de futebol, enquanto área menor. A questão central procura compreender de que forma o discurso de jornalistas esportivos brasileiros tensiona contradições do campo como uma área menor, sui generis ou não-jornalística. A direção metodológica considera a perspectiva que jornalistas esportivos brasileiros têm de si e do campo, por meio de uma análise de discurso de perspectiva francesa a ser feita após a realização de entrevistas em profundidade, para que pensem sobre as contradições desta pequena área da imprensa brasileira. Como um estudo a ser construído, espera-se notar as condições de realização e pensar sobre potencialidades e fraquezas da proposta.

O presente artigo objetiva analisar os diálogos estabelecidos entre a telenovela Vale Tudo (1988) e o processo de redemocratização brasileiro através da hipótese de que a trama delineia uma espécie de "manual de boas maneiras" ao longo de sua narrativa. Para isso, utiliza-se de decupagens dos capítulos da obra, cartas endereçadas à Divisão de Censura de Diversões Públicas (DCDP) e menções feitas no Jornal do Comércio (AM). The aim of this study was to find typology of fashion-related mobile applications through exploratory investigation and to investigate differences in Korea and U.S. App stores. And then, through the qualitative evaluation about fashion mobile applications, this study proposes fashion mobile application's design and contents which can be preferred by users. By conducting keyword search in each store, 122 Korean applications and 150 US applications were analyzed. Empirical findings revealed that there were seven major types of fashion mobile applications: brand, magazine, information, SNS, game, shopping and coordination. Information type applications took up the largest portion, and SNS and game type applications showed higher ranking among customers. There were more game Apps in US and more shopping Apps in Korean stores. More free Apps were found in Korean App stores, whereas relatively more paid Apps were found in US App stores especially in game, magazine and information type applications. And as a result of usability evaluation of fashion mobile application, users prefer SNS and information category application to shopping and brand category. Also users want continuous improvement and new contents for fashion mobile application.

A partir de una investigación que recupera opiniones y experiencias de trabajadores sobre la plataformización del trabajo audiovisual, el artículo analiza el contexto de producción actual de la ficción en Argentina, en un escenario de auge de las plataformas de contenidos frente a una re-regulación por parte del Estado que desfinancia la industria nacional mientras genera beneficios para actores corporativos y provoca alteraciones en los ciclos de producción, con impacto directo en la creación de valor, lasrelaciones laborales y la contratación del trabajo. Desde  esta  entrada  se  revisa  el  modelo  de  negocios  de  las  plataformas  audiovisuales,  la imposición de reglas y la falta de una normativa específica. La investigación permite observar la crisis que atraviesa el sector, potenciada por diversos factores.

Fontes de informação noticiosas podem ser vistas como fontes primárias de informação utilizadas como referências na produção de conteúdos jornalísticos. A disponibilização desses documentos ao público, porém, requer metodologias especiais devido à diversidade das temáticas, somada ao alto volume da sua grande cobertura temporal. Esta pesquisa esboça um trabalho de campo em que foi utilizado um escopo de 100 edições de um jornal impresso e que teve como ponto de partida o método indutivo, a partir de dados observados em duas etapas: a primeira extraiu dados referentes do processo descritivo e a segunda extraiu dados da análise de assunto. O objetivo foi encontrar fatores que podem implicar em Sistemas de Recuperação da Informação. Os resultados demonstram a descoberta de elos e variáveis implicantes e os possíveis efeitos no metadado, na classificação, nos nodos hipertextuais e na indexação em Sistemas de Organização do Conhecimento e Sistemas de Recuperação da Informação.

Scarcity of land in the city of Lusaka is resulting into increased land prices and various sectors of society are increasingly questioning the extent of transparency and fairness in land administration. This study examines public perceptions of corruption in urban land administration in terms of proneness of land administration processes to corruption, drivers of corruption, and forms of corruption. The study further explores options for reducing corruption in land administration in the city. Data was collected using a questionnaire administered on 265 Lusaka residents. Additional data was also collected from five focus group discussions and five in-depth key informant interviews. Key informants included lawyers, government workers, Zambia Land Alliance, Civic Forum on Housing and lecturers. Les MTP sont au coeur d'un décor socio-économique et juridique assez dense. Beaucoup d'acteurs sont présents : fournisseurs de contenu, distributeurs, fournisseur de technologie et consommateurs. Les modes d'expression sont normatifs (normes de fait ou standards internationaux). Les scénarios types envisagés sont le stockage, la consommation, la transmission ou la production des oeuvres. Commençons par un avertissement : je ne suis pas juriste, ce qui suit est l'interprétation par un technicien du cadre juridique autour des MTP. Les oeuvres sont protégées par les lois sur la propriété littéraire et artistique incluse dans le Code de la Propriété Intellectuelle, CPI. Très schématiquement, deux concepts fondamentaux y sont décrits : le droit d'auteur et les droits voisins. Le droit d'auteur est un droit moral, c'est-à-dire un droit de l'homme, qui est ici l'auteur. Ce droit défend la paternité de l'oeuvre et son contrôle par l'auteur. Ce droit est incessible et imprescriptible (i.e. sans fin). Les droits voisins sont des droits patrimoniaux, c'est-à-dire des droits des biens défendant les intérêts financiers de l'auteur mais aussi des producteurs, promoteurs, éditeurs (i.e. les voisins) de l'oeuvre. Les MTP visent surtout à restreindre la distribution illégale, ils sont donc relatifs aux droits voisins.

Community radio played an unprecedented role in
disseminating credible health information and combating
misinformation during the COVID-19 pandemic in India. As a
grassroots medium, it bridged the information gap and digital
divide in rural and marginalised communities where mainstream
media penetration is limited and selective. This study explores
how community radio stations of India supported health
awareness campaigns before the pandemic, delivering critical
information about COVID-19 symptoms, preventive measures,
health strategies, vaccination drives, and government protocols.
By employing local languages and dialects with culturally
influenced content, community radio stations fostered trust
and ensured accessibility. They collaborated with healthcare
professionals, grassroots organisations, and public authorities to
deliver timely and accurate information, addressing mental health
as well as pandemic-induced fear and misinformation. Moreover,
these stations acted as platforms for community mobilisation with
their engagement, enabling participatory communication that
provided psychological support and feedback loops. The findings
underscore the significance of community radio as an adaptable
and resilient tool for public health communication, particularly
in crises. This paper highlights its contributions pre- and during
COVID-19 in India and outlines its potential for strengthening health systems in the post-pandemic era.

Technological convergence has become a cliche. Therefore, time has come when we need to reflect, and analyse the state of the art of web tv journalism and establish the paths towards a future real integration of the television journalism in a new platform like the internet. The time we live in is still a protoWeb TV era where convergence is nothing more than the simple television content transfer to the internet. This very inceptive phase is much like the online journalism genesis where a plain copy of the newspaper was read on the computer screen. And this is what tv stations are doing right now, they are just publishing the plain TV content as it was aired. What we observe is a simple TV screen recreation on the computer screen. Broadcasted on tv, posted on the internet. But what should be happening is a real metamorphosis due to a new literacy inherent to a platform that provides and privileges interaction. As History teaches, each new media adopts the predecessor language before developing its own language, based on its own technology thus generating new literacies and consequent self coding and decoding mechanisms. The present web TVs are an example of how we´re still living in a protohistory phase. They´re nothing but simple recreations of the traditional TV set. And this is why it urges and it is vital to build a new grammar to guide the TV web journalist on this quest through a new platform environment based on the internet, where he/she meets a new decoding dimension regarding an innovating and demanding semiotic effort.

This chapter describes the experiences of one English Language Arts teacher who incorporated role-playing games into her 6th grade classroom. During a historical fiction unit focused on the American Revolution, students read young adult novels, participated in book clubs, and created role-playing games based on the novels. Drawing on game-based learning and literacy, and a transactional theory of reading, the authors argue that role-playing games can help students inhabit literary worlds by foregrounding the aesthetic aspects of reading. A description of the roleplaying game project, including its goals, activities, and assessments, is provided. -How can role-playing game help students create immersive and imaginative literary worlds? -How do role-playing games provide students with opportunities to connect and extend their out of school literacy practices around gaming? -What role-playing activities do you already incorporate into your teaching of literature? Purpose: the Indian media landscape is transforming as a result of digitalization, and traditional print media are experiencing signicant income losses. The corona pandemic has made things worse for the Indian press, making it more challenging for it to maintain its competitive edge in a market that is becoming more digitally fractured and digitized. Newspapers have shited to new revenue generating models based on technical advancement and digital forays. Realigning products and business strategies to address operational issues in the globalized market are currently a serious concern for all media businesses.
Design/methodology/approach:  the exploratory study is based on qualitative ndings that were gathered through semi-structured
interviews with the business managers and editors of India's top four national newspapers.
Findings: the current study aims to comprehend the technological changes that the Indian legacy media is going through, as well as the
challenges that it must overcome to stay pro table and competitive.
Originality/value: It discusses how newspaper production, distribution and revenue streams management is adapting to the technologically rebuilt globalised market and lists the key evolutionary changes that have occurred in business models components of news publication organizations with special focus on the evolved revenue streams and distribution channels.

Este trabajo propone una cartografía comparada de cuatro modelos de
gobernanza de internet —abierto, comercial, europeo y paternalista— para pensar,
desde una clave filosófica, las tensiones entre libertad, seguridad y regulación en el
ámbito de los datos personales y los derechos digitales. La cartografía central, de
estructura piramidal, sitúa los modelos en relación con dos ejes (poder de gestión de
datos/derechos y conocimiento/uso de los datos) e incorpora actores recurrentes
(usuarios, empresas y Estado), así como indicaciones del tipo de libertad en juego
(positiva/negativa). El análisis muestra, por un lado, la deriva del modelo abierto hacia
lógicas comerciales que mercantilizan los datos; por otro, el carácter ilusorio de la
“seguridad” prometida por el paternalismo estatal —más cercano a un capitalismo de
Estado— y, en contraste, el intento europeo de síntesis y equilibrio al extender garantías
jurídicas a los usuarios y limitar asimetrías de poder. La propuesta invita a una reflexión
crítica sobre cómo gobernar éticamente lo digital más allá del puro tecnicismo
legislativo, poniendo en el centro la dignidad y la autonomía de los sujetos en su
dimensión digital.

La arquitectura jurídica de la nueva Ley Federal de Telecomunicaciones y Radiodifusión 2025 (Telecom) conquistó diversos progresos relevantes en varios ámbitos sociopolítico-tecnológicos de las telecomunicaciones y la radiodifusión para fortalecer las necesidades de desarrollo de esta industria en el país. Sin embargo, pese a los destacados adelantos logrados por esta ordenanza regulatoria, paralelamente también se generaron diversos conflictos estructurales muy delicados que limitaran significativamente su éxito legislativo. Dentro de tales conflictos figuraron, entre otros, las siguientes cinco grandes problemáticas en el terreno del poder, la autonomía de los organismos, la neutralidad de la red, la protección de datos personales, y la situación de los Consejos Ciudadanos de Comunicación.

Para realizar los análisis, se partió de los conceptos de Castells (1996), Jenkins (2009) y Bourdieu (2004, 2008), y se aplicó la metodología de análisis de contenido (ac), utilizando los métodos cualitativos de análisis del corpus. Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta, and Microsoft (“AAAMM,” formerly GAFAM) have built vast ecosystems of online products and services. Over the past decade, these firms have extensively acquired other companies, primarily young startups. Previous literature has shown that incumbents may have several motivations to acquire new entrants: they may be interested in the product, technology, network of users, or staff of the acquired company, or they may seek to eliminate a potential competitor.

In this paper, we rely on a database of 362 acquisitions carried out by AAAMM firms between 2015 and 2023 to provide evidence on the significance of these acquisitions and detailed statistics about the acquired companies. In particular, we find that they (i) acquired very frequently, with an average of 3.4 companies per month in the 2015-2023 period (despite a noticeable slowdown over the years) and (ii) targeted overwhelmingly young companies, with more than half of them being 5 years old or younger.

We then examine the evolution of the acquired products to better understand the underlying motivations for these acquisitions, showing that a substantial portion of the acquired products are discontinued and proposing a framework to carry out an initial ex post screening of potentially problematic acquisitions.

The emergence of new media has significantly reshaped journalistic practices, shifting from a traditional, passive content delivery model to a more dynamic and interactive approach. This transformation is driven by technological advancements and changing audience behaviors, necessitating a re-evaluation of journalism’s theoretical foundations. This article explores the conceptual underpinnings of interactive journalism, drawing on media convergence theory, participatory journalism frameworks, and digital storytelling models. It examines how interactivity influences news production, distribution, and consumption, fostering greater audience engagement, personalized content experiences, and real-time feedback mechanisms. Interactive journalism leverages multimedia formats, user-generated content, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and data-driven storytelling to create immersive and participatory news environments. These advancements challenge traditional journalistic norms, raising questions about editorial control, accuracy, and ethical considerations in a landscape where audiences actively shape the news discourse. Additionally, this paper highlights the role of social media platforms in facilitating interactive news experiences, transforming audience members from passive consumers into active co-creators of journalistic content. This research identifies the opportunities and challenges associated with interactive journalism in the digital era by analyzing case studies and current trends. While interactivity enhances storytelling, increases audience trust, and diversifies news formats, it also introduces complexities related to misinformation, digital divides, and the commodification of engagement metrics. Ultimately, this study argues that interactive journalism represents a fundamental shift in the media ecosystem, necessitating new theoretical approaches to understand its evolving role in contemporary news production and dissemination.

Resumo: Este trabalho tem por objetivos entender a evolução dos estudos sobre o desenvolvimento de modelos econômicos que permitam a sustentabilidade financeira das empresas jornalísticas para atuarem nas mídias sociais e dar novas contribuições ao tema. Este assunto torna-se pertinente em um momento de crescimento do número de notícias falsas circulando nas principais mídias sociais e que, sem um modelo econômico que incentive as empresas jornalísticas a investirem em tais ambientes, serão espaços dominados pelas fake news. Para realizar este estudo, foi realizada a revisão de um estudo inicial de Costa (2014), além de uma revisão sistemática da literatura, com vistas a compreender a evolução de pesquisas nesse tema. Na revisão sistemática foram encontrados somente 03 trabalhos que tratam do tema de forma direta ou indireta. Percebeu-se, portanto, que tais pesquisas ainda são escassas, demandando novas pesquisas. Por fim, buscou-se dar novas contribuições para o assunto, propondo alguns modelos econômicos possíveis com base nas necessidades e possibilidades mais adequados ao jornalismo enquanto negócio.

Resumo El periodismo es una forma social de conocimiento calcado em lo singular, mas es capaz de ampliar los sentidos del espectador para comprender e interpretar la realidad. Eso lo vuelve indispensable para profundizar sobre las relaciones entre los ciudadanos que viven, especialmente en las ciudades. El derecho a la ciudad surge de la necesidad de una ciudad más democrática, cuyas decisiones de urbanización sean divididas con todos los pobladores. En ese proceso, el periodismo tiene un papel fundamental al noticiar sobre los acontecimientos que hacen parte del espacio urbano. Este trabajo se propone analizar cómo se da la cobertura periodística sobre el derecho a la ciudad en la tercera mayor ciudad del estado brasileño de Bahia, en Vitória da Conquista. Para atender ese propósito, la metodología adoptada sigue un carácter descriptivo e inductivo, de abordaje cuantitativo y el método de investigación es el Análisis de Contenido. Los resultados señalan un periodismo que no acrecienta un conocimiento transformador a los ciudadanos, apenas noticias de forma extremamente singularizada los hechos sociales relacionados al espacio urbano sin despertar en la audiencia la conciencia sobre su derecho a la ciudad.

Moreover, social media platforms have the potential to change the relationship between news media and the public in significant ways, as virtually everyone now has the ability to document and live-stream events to a global audience. To say the least, social media has become a primary venue for public commentary about current events, disrupting the gatekeeping power once held by national news outlets and talk radio. The most poignant examples of this restructuring of communicative power can be seen in social justice movements and the instant release of imagery and commentary in the wake of multiple shootings of Black men by police officers across the U.S. in recent years. For instance, Diamond Reynolds live-streamed the moments following the shooting of her fiancé, Philando Castille, when they were pulled over by police for a broken taillight in Falcon Heights, a suburb of the St. Paul and Minneapolis twin cities in Minnesota. Videos were posted online when police in Baton Rouge, Louisiana shot Alton Sterling, prompting an investigation from the U.S. justice Department. Civil unrest followed the shooting of Michael Brown, an unarmed Black teenager in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson, Missouri in the summer of 2014. As the hashtag #Ferguson trended on Twitter, national and international news outlets followed social media activity in covering the protests, looting, and militarized police response. And in Cincinnati, Ohio during the summer of 2015, Sam DuBose, an unarmed Black motorist, was shot and killed during a traffic stop by Ray Tensing, a University of Cincinnati police officer. Afterwards, local community groups led by @BlackLivesCincy and @theIRATe8 quickly mobilized on social media to decry the incident and confront competing narratives that it was justified.

A notable incident occurred on November 25, 2023, in Bitung, North Sulawesi, when a clash between the Muslim Solidarity Front (supporting Palestine) and the Menguni Troops (supporting Israel) resulted in one death and two injuries. This phenomenon highlights the volatile nature of intergroup tensions. However, local media played a commendable role by actively engaging in conflict reconciliation efforts, instead of exacerbating the situation, and demonstrating a proactive approach to mitigating ethnoreligious conflict tensions. This research aims to elucidate the practice of peace journalism as employed by local journalists in North Sulawesi, specifically in their role in reducing the ethno-religious conflict in Bitung. Using a qualitative descriptive approach and case study methodology, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document reviews. The study involved five local journalists from Bitung as research subjects, focusing on their application of peace journalism techniques in the aftermath of the conflict. The findings indicated that these journalists have a heightened awareness of the necessity for a peaceful resolution following the riots. They actively adopt and implement principles of peace journalism to quell unrest, thereby contributing to a swift resolution of conflicts. This emphasizes the critical role of journalism in fostering peace and preventing the escalation of intergroup conflicts in Indonesia. This study recommends the importance of understanding the concept of peace journalism and its application in presenting the news, especially when dealing with complex contemporary conflicts such as ethnic and religious conflicts, which are further complicated by external factors, such as the Palestine-Israel conflict.

Globalisation processes are discussed especially in connection with audiovisual production in North America. Slovak television production is heavily influenced by products originating from the United States as well. The main aim of the present study is to clarify the globalisation tendencies of the media industry with regard to television production in post-communist countries, specifically in Slovakia. The research focuses on the sub-genre of reality TV called container reality game show, which is currently perceived as a globally popular media phenomenon. To fulfil the primary purpose of the study, it is necessary to clarify the key terms, describe the essence of reality TV and its basic characteristics. The follow-up case study offers an assessment of the globalisation processes resonating in contemporary Slovak television production, specifically in reality TV products. We work with the assumption that the foreign globalised theme and its adaptation in the form of a glocalised title are qualitatively more or less identical, but that there are always several content changes in the domestic title that reflect the local interests, attitudes, and habits of the respective media audiences.

In order to investigate how online activities and digital cultures mediate children's socialisation to consumer culture, this paper discusses the findings of a research project on online games for tweens which focus on fashion. Popular websites for girls include a variety of games centred on fashion; these are mainly paper dolls sites, which engage girls in a drag and drop activity of clothes and fashion items on sexualised bodies, at times of celebrities. Some reproduce fashion and beauty ideals in settings such as catwalks, hairstyle and beauty saloons, etc. Others, such as Stardoll.com, offer more complex environments, integrating dressing up activities with the creation of an online persona, combined with social networking. Drawing on analysis of online dress up games and websites, and a set of group interviews with young girls aged 9-13, the paper explores how tweens engage with these games and, more generally, how they appropriate, negotiate and resist consumer culture through the practice of dressing up themselves and their online personas. The aim of the paper is therefore threefold: 1) reconstruct the meanings and uses of online paper dolls websites, and their symbolic value in everyday interactions; 2) investigate how these games contribute to shape young girls' engagement with digital cultures, consumer and celebrity culture; and 3) understand how stereotyped representations of young girls as consumers circulated in media, consumer and celebrity culture are socially made sense of by tweens in their peer cultures.

The article discusses the findings of a qualitative study aimed at investigating the development of new cross-media diets and new practices of media consumption and production among Italian young people (aged 14-24). These practices are certainly enabled by the diffusion of broadband, mobile media, digital television and the media convergence processes at the institutional and production level. They are also influenced by social and cultural factors such as age, gender, household composition, the extension of one’s social networks, and so on. The results of this research show that the Internet has become both a guide to public expectations and public criticism of the media. In addition, it also serves as a barometer of news consumption, which guides journalists to create the media agenda. The perverse effects of the introduction of Internet in journalistic practices are considered the creation of the Google reporters and copy-paste and office journalists.

هدفت هذه الدراسة الحالية إلى تقديم رؤية لتطوير تخصص الصحة النفسية والإرشاد النفسى بكليات التربية في مصر في ضوء تحديات الثورة الرقمية وتقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعى وتطبيقاته واسعة الانتشار. مرت تلك الدراسة بمراحل متابعة، المرحلة الأولى: دراسة استطلاعية على عينة من أعضاء هيئة التدريس بقسمي الصحة النفسية بكليتي التربية بأسيوط والمنيا، وقد شمل الاستبيان أسئلة مقيدة ومفتوحة، استطلع الباحث رأى العينة في نقاط القوة والضعف في التخصص، ونقاط القوة والتهديدات، كما تعرف على بعض مقترحاتهم في تطوير التخصص، المرحلة لثانية: وفيها تم تجميع الأدبيات النظرية التي تناولت تطوير الصحة النفسية والإرشاد النفسى التربوى في المدارس والجامعات، وبعض الدراسات التي تناولت العقبات والتحديات التي تقف حجر عثرة أمام الأقسام في تقديم خدمات الصحة النفسية للبيئة الداخلية في كليات الجامعة، وخدمة المجتمع الخارجي في المدارس والأسر، كما تم تجميع دراسات رائدة في مجال تطوير تقديم الخدمات النفسية من خلال الانفتاح على التطور الرقمي والذكاء الاصطناعى والذى تم في المجال الطبي والمجال النفسى، وقد تم دراسة وتحليل أهداف تلك الدراسات ونتائجها من أجل الإفادة منها في تقديم رؤى التطوير في كافة محاور الرؤية المقترحة، المرحلة الثالثة: عرض رؤية تطوير تخصص الصحة النفسية في مصر، وقد تضمنت الرؤية ستة محاور هي: المحور الأول: إنشاء المجلس القومي للصحة النفسية التربوية ، المحور الثاني: تطوير مراكز الإرشاد النفسى والتربوي في الجامعات المصرية، المحور الثالث: إعادة النظر في بعض لوائح طلاب الدبلومات والدراسات العليا، المحور الرابع: تطوير البحث العلمي في مجال الصحة النفسية والإرشاد النفسى في ضوء تحديات الثورة الرقمية وتقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعى ، المحور الخامس: إنشاء كيانات ومنصات رسمية تجمع أقسام الصحة النفسية بكليات التربية في مصر، المحور السادس: محو الأمية النفسية وزيادة التثقيف النفسى لأفراد المجتمع.

This chapter argues that educators’ unease with chatbots reflects the limitations of a traditional pedagogy of correction. These methods often promote machine-like, decontextualized writing, a skill that chatbots can mimic. The chapter highlights the importance of embracing use theories of language that emphasize the communicative power of writing beyond mere formal correctness. These theories will allow teachers to better see what chatbots cannot achieve but student writing can, such as conveying personal experiences, expressing diverse identities, and engaging in nuanced, contextual communication. The chapter advocates a shift from an exclusive focus on “what a text should formalistically look like” to “what writing can achieve” as a medium for authentic expression, experimentation, identity negotiation, civic dialogue, and social impact.
