RESUMEN
Esta investigación se propone identificar cómo surge y evoluciona el periodismo de datos dentro del escenario del periodismo digital en Ecuador. Para ello, se propone caracterizar esa modalidad como fenómeno particular en los medios tradicionales digitalizados y los medios nativos digitales
ecuatorianos. Un propósito que además ofrece un análisis de ese quehacer periodístico que se nutre de diversas condiciones profesionales, empresariales, contextuales, económicas y políticas.
Conjuntamente se realiza un estudio comparativo al observar dos casos en concreto: por un lado El Comercio, un medio tradicional digitalizado con su sección El Comercio Data; y por otro, el nativo digital Plan V, un prestigioso cibermedio de investigación.

This book examines the transition of punishment to treatment in a care and education state centre in the Western Cape, South Africa. More than 12 000 at-risk youth, suffering neglect and abuse, were sent by the courts to Ottery Youth Care and Education Centre from 1948-2021. Through narrative analysis and photo elicitation, the book examines the challenges and triumphs achieved by staff, from managers to psychologists, counsellors, occupational therapists, educators, social work intern and community care givers to the learners themselves. A new centre has been opened by the Western Cape Education Department in 2022 to help learners with behaviour as a barrier to learning, and this is also examined in the Afterword of the book. A Workbook at the end examines in practice the 11 lessons of care presented, such as Focus on building strengths; Try to understand context, Make true connection and Give love and respect to all. The book has over 70 photographs which depict the centre and its triumphs.

Yasemin İnceoğlu was born in 1961 in Istanbul to law professor İsmet Giritli and attorney Suna Giritli. She began her education in Istanbul and continued her studies in the U.S. and Scotland due to her father's academic assignments abroad. She graduated from Istanbul University with a degree in English Language and Literature and conducted research in Italian literature in Italy with a scholarship from the Vatican Embassy. Between 1984 and 2004, she served at Marmara University's Faculty of Communication, where she earned her M.A., Ph.D., and later her associate and full professorships. Since 2004, she has been a faculty member at Galatasaray University, where she served as dean between 2015 and 2016. She has participated as an expert in Council of Europe meetings and has been invited as a visiting scholar at institutions such as Columbia University and the Salzburg Seminars. A founding member of the Media Watch Platform, she is actively involved in various NGOs and editorial boards. She speaks English, Italian, and French.

Resumen
El cambio tecnológico ha generado el estudio de los nuevos procesos comunicativos y educativos en los últimos años impulsando investigaciones sobre estas prácticas en los entornos digitales. Es precisamente en este marco referencial en que el Proyecto de investigación Entornos Digitales de Comunicación y Educación en Contextos de Desarrollo estudiará las dimensiones sociales y culturales de la red de redes-internet en la provincia de San Luis. Es decir, tanto en el uso como en la apropiación que hacen los ciudadanos de los entornos virtuales de comunicación y educación. A partir de la hipótesis que los entornos digitales de la comunicación y de la educación están estrechamente vinculados a los contextos de desarrollo y que son los cambios tecnológicos asociados a ambos campos los que influyen de manera directa en la población, en este proyecto estudiamos casos específicos vinculados a entornos digitales. En tiempos de convergencia digital, surge el concepto de plataformas el cual conlleva nuevos contenidos propios, con narrativas distintas. Y surgen nuevas audiencias que exigen contenidos, los modifican y hasta los producen. Para entender la complejidad de la temática, también analizamos el contexto de desarrollo en que ocurren estas transformaciones; considerando principalmente los factores, económicos, sociales y ambientales.

This report presents the phenomena of media freedom and pluralism and the major academic and policy debates about their social, political, economic role and implications. It highlights the importance of media freedom and pluralism for the functioning, sustainability and legitimacy of a democratic regime, and therefore the necessity for relevant policy actions. The text also provides a state of the art perspective on the measuring and evaluating of media pluralism. It analyses major aspects of media economics and ownership, including the tendency to media concentration, the potential relationship between pluralism and the increased number of sources of supply, the impact of emerging "Internet native" media players, and globalisation. Dijital dönüşüm, medya sistemlerinde içerik üretiminden bilgi dolaşımına kadar tüm süreçleri yeniden yapılandıran, görünürlük politikalarını ve habercilik
normlarını kökten değiştiren bir paradigmadır. Haberin seçimi ve sunumu, olayların nesnel gerçekliğinden çok; medya aktörlerinin, kurumsal dinamiklerin ve
toplumsal bağlamın belirlediği söylemsel pratiklerle şekillenmektedir. Bilginin
toplumsal gerçekliği; onu üreten kurumların, taşıyan teknolojilerin ve dolaşıma
sokan aktörlerin kesişiminde sürekli olarak yeniden tanımlanmaktadır. Haberin
üretimi, seçimi ve dolaşıma sokulması süreçlerini anlamlandırmada eşik bekçiliği
kuramı, bu süreci kavramsallaştırmada işlevsel bir kuramsal çerçeve sunmaktadır. Geleneksel haber yapım modelleri, filtreleme mekanizmalarıyla açıklanırken,

temsil kuramı esas alınarak haber görselleri analiz edilmiş; metinsel ve görsel
öğelerin birlikte kurduğu söylemsel yapı ortaya konmuştur.

Una de las vías por las que la información sobre lo que sucede en España nos llega a México es a través de los corresponsales. Estos periodistas que representan a distintos tipos de medios de comunicación son los
encargados de informar de la actualidad de un país con el que desde hace más de 500 años mantenemos estrechos vínculos políticos, económicos, culturales y sociales.
La importancia de estos profesionales es fundamental porque su trabajo informativo nos permite conocer y valorar la realidad de un país extranjero (Del Orbe Ayala, K.R. 2013). Sin embargo, poco sabemos de qué características sociodemográficas y profesionales tienen estos periodistas que residen de forma estable en España e informan sobre él a las audiencias mexicanas. Por ello este informe de investigación tiene como objetivo esbozar el perfil del corresponsal mexicano identificando algunas de sus particularidades como el género, la edad, el nivel de
estudios, el medio o medios para los que trabaja, años de experiencia profesional, tiempo que lleva en la corresponsalía, entre otras cuestiones.
La metodología de este trabajo se basa en la técnica del análisis cuantitativo de datos secundarios tomando como referencia la información sobre los periodistas mexicanos publicada en tres directorios que agrupan a los corresponsales extranjeros: la Secretaría de Prensa de
Moncloa, de la Asociación de Corresponsales de Prensa Extranjera, ACPE y del Círculo de Corresponsales Extranjeros, editados durante el año 2020.
El análisis de datos lo combinamos con la consulta en redes sociales de los perfiles de los comunicadores para ampliar algunos datos profesionales.

Cet article analyse l'évolution du journalisme d'opinion haïtien depuis la chute de la dictature duvaliériste (1986) et examine comment l'oligarchie économique a instrumentalisé la critique médiatique pour maintenir sa domination structurelle. À travers l'analyse de contenu de 200 heures d'émissions et d'entretiens avec des professionnels du secteur, ce travail tente d'expliquer les mécanismes par lesquels le journalisme d'opinion, tout en prétendant représenter les « masses populaires », contribue paradoxalement à la reproduction des rapports de domination qu'il dénonce.

The article provides an empirical analysis of cases in which Ukrainian state and local authorities responded to journalistic investigations published mainly in online media. It systematizes cases in which official administrative, judicial, or supervisory actions resulting from media publications were documented in 2024. Based on the analysis of 25 examples, key thematic areas of investigations that provoke a response have been identified, with a predominance of the topics of corruption and the use of budget funds. The forms of administrative response have been typologized and can vary from personnel decisions (dismissal, resignation, official investigations) to financial adjustments (price reductions, termination of contracts) and legal actions (opening of proceedings or announcement of suspicion). The time intervals between publication and response are characterized, ranging from 1 to over 900 days. Variations in response time demonstrate the influence of institutional factors, political will, and the complexity of fact-checking. The geography and figures involved in such cases are described; investigations often expose not only individual violators but also systemic problems in the interaction between government and business in the distribution of public resources. It has been proven that journalistic investigations serve as a catalyst for administrative action, promoting government accountability, especially in the area of public procurement, even in the context of full-scale war. The use of case analysis based on the criterion of analytical relevance is justified for studying the mechanisms of interaction between the media and government institutions. The study demonstrates that Ukrainian investigative journalism, especially in the online segment, is an important actor in the system of checks and balances, capable of initiating specific actions by the state aimed at correcting violations and increasing accountability.

This article illustrates how researchers have studied the representations of youth in the Ibero-American press. We focus on 45 studies published from the beginning of the 21st century to the present. We systematize the investigations considering the objectives and research questions, their methodological treatments and their findings. It is recognized a common predominance of negative portrayals from disinterest to violence across countries. Adultocentrism, biologism, psychologism, racism, and classism are part of the color palette of youth representations. This article highlights the need to develop comparative works to make inferences, as well as finely break down the discursive productions in accordance with the format of the press and its speech producers, to recognize and try to identify the different youth identities; also, it is emphasized that contexts are important since they operate as laboratories of discursive production. The recent Covid-19 pandemic offers an opportunity in this regard.

Electronic Information and Communication Boards (EICBs), also known as digital bulletin boards, are display screens used by businesses and organizations to communicate with their audience through multimedia content. These boards serve as modern equivalents to traditional corkboards where physical flyers and notices are pinned. EICBs can be found in various contexts, including educational institutions, corporate offices, public spaces, and transportation hubs. Their applications range from announcements and advertising to interactive displays. Five hundred and twelve respondents were used as sample from both staff and students of KWCOED Oro. Questionnaire was distributed and retrieved online. The two formulated null hypotheses were rejected. The results show that ECIBs have contributed significantly in improving digital literacy and accuracy of information dissemination in the College.

Namun, semakin berkembangnya AI, telah muncul pula tantangan besar, yaitu bagaimana manusia mampu menggunakan teknologi dengan bijak, adil, dan bertanggung jawab sehingga di sinilah pentingnya literasi AI dan etika AI.

Con este trabajo se desea abonar sobre la importancia de considerar a la
mujer como parte fundamental en la publicidad, concretamente en el caso
de Ciudad Juárez, una ciudad fronteriza en la que diversas circunstancias
históricas visibilizan con mucha vulnerabilidad a las mujeres y niñas. Se plantea en esta investigación que la publicidad impresa continúa promoviendo estereotipos que descuidan la imagen positiva de la mujer en un ambiente de inseguridad y violencia.

El caso Gastón Gadín (1915): Deconstrucción y reconstrucción histórica, y la verdadera identidad de Ana Mayeregger Resumen En julio de 1915, un doble parricidio conmocionó a la sociedad asuncena: el joven Gastón Gadín fue acusado de asesinar brutalmente a sus padres en el barrio de Villa Morra. Este trabajo reexamina integralmente el caso Gastón Gadín desde una perspectiva histórica crítica. A partir de fuentes primarias locales (prensa de la época, documentos judiciales y registros civiles) y apoyados en un método dialógico humano-IA, auditamos la versión mediático-policial difundida en 1915. Identificamos importantes inconsistencias cronológicas y narrativas en el relato oficial, evidenciando que la prensa y la Policía construyeron una narrativa performativa para exhibir rapidez y modernidad investigativa. Presentamos una reconstrucción parsimoniosa de los hechos entre el 26 y 28 de julio de 1915, que ajusta la cronología a las evidencias comprobables. Asimismo, esclarecemos la verdadera identidad de la enigmática "Ana Mayeregger": demostramos que se trata de Ana Basilia Caballero Santa Cruz, hija natural de una figura prominente, cuya identidad fue encubierta en los registros públicos de la época. Este hallazgo genealógico recalibra la comprensión del caso y sus actores. En conjunto, el estudio aporta una visión más coherente del crimen, contextualizándolo en el Paraguay urbano de 1915-marcado por la modernización de la prensa, la Policía científica incipiente y las dinámicas de un barrio de inmigrantes-, a la vez que propone una metodología innovadora para la revisión de casos históricos controvertidos.

This paper focuses on the impact of celebrity endorsement strategies on the performance of the Nigerian telecommunication industry (MTN Nigeria, Airtel, Globalcom Nigeria limited, and 9mobile). This study's particular objectives were to investigate the impact of celebrity credibility, celebrity cost, and celebrity attractiveness on the performance of Nigerian telecommunication firms. The descriptive test approach was used in the investigation. The study's population was 417, and the sample size was 207 senior management staff. Questionnaires were employed to collect information from respondents. The questions were analyzed using correlation and regression analysis. According to the data, celebrity credibility, celebrity appeal, and celebrity cost all have a beneficial impact on the performance of Nigerian telecommunications companies. The study's suggestions were that managers of various companies guarantee that only highly credible celebrities are used for advertising, that only well-built and beautiful celebrities are employed, and that a cost/benefit analysis is performed before engaging any celebrity as a brand ambassador.

This study aims to identify and tell stories of journalists who have found alternatives so as to practice their profession outside the newsrooms of traditional media vehicles. In this regard, it makes an account of the profissionalization process of such journalists, as well as discusses the academic education and the job market in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Thereafter, it reports the stories of and compares similar and diverse aspects in the paths of journalists Julio Ribeiro, José Aveline Neto and Rosina Duarte.

Koronavirüs (Covid-19) salgını, ortaya çıktığı ilk günden beri halkı tedirgin eden bir hastalıktır. Ancak 2022 yılında virüsün, değişime uğrayarak etkisini yitirmeye başladığı söylenebilir. Dolayısıyla konuyla ilgili yaşanan gelişmeler internet haberlerine değişik şekillerde yansımaktadır. İnternet gazetelerinde yer alan haberler, salgının 'arttığını' veya 'bittiğini' söyleyerek, salgının riskinin maksimize ya da minimize olmasına neden olmaktadır. 2022 yılındaki Koronavirüs (Covid-19) salgınının internet haberlerine yansımasını konu edinen bu çalışmanın amacı, bu yılda salgının seyrinin değişmesiyle birlikte bu haberlerin karşılaştırmalı analizini yaparak söylem bakımından sorunlarını ortaya koymaktır. Çalışmada, Teun van Dijk'ın eleştirel söylem analizi yöntemi kullanılarak, karşılaştırmalı olarak 6 haber metni analiz edilmiştir. 'Gündem belirleme kuramı' ve 'Risk toplumu yaklaşımından' da yararlanılarak yapılan bu araştırmada ele alınan haberler, en çok okunan internet gazetelerinden, araştırmanın konusunu en belirgin şekilde gösteren haberler seçilerek, incelenmiştir. Analiz sonucunda, haberlerde halkı ya çok rahatlatan, her şeyin geçtiğini söyleyen ifadeler yer almakta veya çok endişelendiren, toplumda kaygı uyandıran haberlerin yapılmış olduğu görülmektedir.

The rise of fake news poses a significant challenge for governments worldwide, prompting the European Commission to address the urgency of combating disinformation. In the contemporary ‘market of attention’, where economic considerations often overshadow democratic and societal concerns, disinformation thrives. This study asserts that financial viability within news media markets is a critical yet overlooked factor in the fight against disinformation. The authors define financial viability as the capacity of institutions to balance income and expenses, positing that a financially sound news media market creates a resilient news landscape less susceptible to disinformation-induced harm. The research employs a comprehensive approach to assess this claim, commencing with a literature review on the financial viability of news media markets that leads to the development of a conceptual framework consisting of nine indicators to measure the financial viability of news media markets in relation to disinformation. Subsequently, primary and secondary data are collected from official and non-official data sources for each of the indicators across ten European countries and compared to the perceived exposure to disinformation in each country. Findings from the analysis reveal that financially viable news media markets exhibit greater resilience to disinformation. This underscores the significance of incorporating financial considerations into governmental efforts to counter disinformation. The article concludes by emphasizing the implications of the research for policy-makers, the news media industry and future research endeavours.

The Bollywood entertainment industry has been dynamically growing over the past decades and plays an important role in the development of the Indian fashion and beauty industry too. This growth has played an interesting role on the global stage as well, as there is an increasing global visibility for the industry and there is a growing need for Bollywood celebrities to represent India internationally. This article examines the ensuing demand for international beauty professionals within the Bollywood entertainment industry. Through interviews with international make-up artists and hair stylists, this article explores the intersection of globalization and Indian national identity as mediated by these beauty experts. I argue that foreign beauty professionals are highly sought after for their perceived prestige, innovative techniques, and discrete professionalism, enhancing the glamour of Bollywood celebrities. Despite challenges, such as cultural adaptation and accessibility, foreign beauty workers contribute significantly to the evolving aesthetics of Bollywood, reflecting broader global trends. In doing so, this article emphasizes the dynamic relationship between Bollywood's star system and international beauty standards, offering insights into the evolving landscape of beauty, fashion and identity in contemporary India.

The professional practices of Argentine journalists reveal the multiplicity of factors that impact journalistic culture. The results of the national study for the global project Worlds of Journalism offers evidence that the type of media organization in which journalists work does not generate different working conditions or respond to alternative professional models. The results reinforce the approach that the professional culture is the result of the interaction between personal values and the guidelines of organizations and companies. Los medios digitales nativos surgieron con el desarrollo y uso generalizado de Internet en el diario vivir de la sociedad, estos medios son una respuesta frente a las grandes empresas mediáticas, las cuales inician captando y fidelizando a sus públicos y seguidores con quienes interactúan de manera constante, generando contenido que incluye elementos visuales de otros productos, ya sean de películas, series de televisión o sujetos u objetos que sean tendencia, entre otras técnicas en redes sociales que son parte del periodismo digital (Salaverría 2005).

En este sentido, la presente investigación es guiada por el objetivo de identificar las responsabilidades deontológicas que se emplean y las que no en los medios digitales nativos, tomando como caso de estudio los reportajes del medio ecuatoriano La Posta durante el año 2019 y difundidos en su cuenta oficial de Facebook.
Este trabajo, además, tiene como fin contribuir a la comunicación como debate y reflexión para clarificar si el periodismo digital aún se guía con códigos deontológicos o principios éticos o, al contrario, de deslinda de estas responsabilidades con objetivos económicos y/o políticos. Para ello se emplea un enfoque cualitativo, para lo cual se recopila la información mediante la técnica de la observación periférica (Torres 2014) y, posteriormente, se aplica el análisis del discurso a las unidades elegidas del corpus sobre la base teórica de Roland Barthes (1974) y adaptando a las
necesidades de esta investigación a través de las categorías de otros autores.
Finalmente, el análisis constata la evasión de determinadas responsabilidades deontológicas en los reportajes a través del empleo de recursos narrativos y retóricos, sobre todo, el uso reiterado de elementos como el sarcasmo, la ironía y el humor pesimista como parte de una estrategia de deslegitimación hacia un actor específico; además evidencia relaciones políticas y económicas del medio digital y otros actores políticos del país, al igual que los aspectos ideológicos presentes entre líneas en el discurso de los reportajes.

Ədəbiyyat Cəmiyyətində” adlı yazısında Sovet Azərbaycanındakı ədəbi həyatı, gənc şairlərin yaradıcılığına və ictimai-siyasi baxışlarına sayğısız münasibəti əks etdirmişdirsə, “Vəd etdiyim bir cavab” məqaləsində isə Bakı Siyasi İdarəsinin Əkbər Ruhi kimi agentlər vasitəsilə şair və yazarları təqib və təhdid etməsindən, onların ədəbi fəaliyyətlərinə kobud müdaxiləsi ifşa olunmuşdur.
Məqalədə həmin publisistik örnəklər təhlil olunmuş, onların şairin vətəndəki yaşamı, həmin dövrün ictimai-siyasi, ədəbi-mədəni məsələlərinə olan tutumu, qarşılaşdığı təzyiqlər, ədəbi prosesdəki mövqeyinin aydınlaşdırılması və s. baxımından dəyəri vurğulanmışdır.

In Yoruba traditional society, the Iyalode was a powerful figure who
coordinated the activities of women in all aspects, especially on trade and
commerce. While notable Iyalode in Yoruba history, such as Efunroye Tinubu, the Iyalode of Egbaland and Lagos, Efunsetan Aniwura in Ibadan, and Alimotu Pelewura, the Iyalode of Lagos Market Women's Association, have been adequately studied by scholars, the Iyalode in the Ikorodu community of Lagos, have not received adequate scholarly attention in spite of their contributions to the economic development of Lagos. In the body of the literature on the economic history of Lagos, there has been no comprehensive study on Victoria Efundeinde Shonubi, the first Iyalode of Ikorodu and Iyalode Patricia Efun, her successor both of whom played critical roles that shaped the economic history of Ikorodu in particular and Lagos in general during and after the colonial administration. Based on this premise, this paper examines the contributions of Iyalode Shonubi and Iyalode Efun of Ikorodu to the economic dynamics of Ikorodu in particular and Lagos in general from 1929 to 1971. The paper adopts
historical narrative as it relies essentially on archival records and field
interviews.

A partir das enchentes ocorridas no Rio Grande do Sul no mês de maio de 2024, este texto busca discutir o papel a narrativa jornalística frente as produções discursivas, especialmente as imagéticas, dos atores sociais. Considerando as lógicas de midiatização entranhadas na sociedade, evidenciam-se práticas sociais de agenciamento da circulação midiática. Tais agenciamentos dão a ver a perda do espaço das mediações jornalísticas para as elaborações testemunhais das próprias vítimas do desastre. Ante o exposto, buscamos identificar e descrever tentativamente neste artigo operações de produção de sentido, dentre as quais destacamos: a) o enquadramento estésico; b) o registro mnemônico da experiência.

Observa-se, no artigo, em uma perspectiva a um tempo topológica e tipológica; sobretudo, relacional, pelo viés da circulação, o que representa, ao sistema midiáticocomunicacional, no que ele tem de jornalístico, a emergência do que estamos chamando de narrativas dissonantes na discursividade midiática. Partimos do princípio que a processualidade da midiatização, ao interferir nas operações do referido sistema, não apenas reconfigura seus dispositivos como provoca emergências as mais diversas. Dentre estas, narrativas contrahegemônicas, portanto dissonantes, que surgem a partir de complexas semioses e operam, no plano simbólico, em uma espécie de contraposição às ofertas de sentido dos demais dispositivos que compõem o sistema midiático comunicacional. Com isso, complexificam o próprio sistema, aqui pensando como um quarto extrato narrativo, ou, simplesmente, um Quarto Narrador. A reflexão será ilustrado com notícias sobre as enchentes que atingiram a Região Sul do Brasil a partir do mês de abril de 2024. A abordagem será qualitativa, nos moldes de Machado da Silva (2021) e Demo (2000). Já a estratégia de observação, com Ginzburg (1989), indiciária.

Este artigo parte de um projeto de pesquisa de doutorado em jornalismo em que se pretende desenvolver um estudo que reflete sobre as contradições do jornalismo esportivo, sobretudo o que trata de futebol, enquanto área menor. A questão central procura compreender de que forma o discurso de jornalistas esportivos brasileiros tensiona contradições do campo como uma área menor, sui generis ou não-jornalística. A direção metodológica considera a perspectiva que jornalistas esportivos brasileiros têm de si e do campo, por meio de uma análise de discurso de perspectiva francesa a ser feita após a realização de entrevistas em profundidade, para que pensem sobre as contradições desta pequena área da imprensa brasileira. Como um estudo a ser construído, espera-se notar as condições de realização e pensar sobre potencialidades e fraquezas da proposta.
