O jornalismo de jogos é uma área do jornalismo cultural que aborda a indústria de jogos digitais, tendo evoluído desde os anos 1970 com revistas especializadas até o atual cenário online e de redes sociais. Jornalistas mulheres dessa área frequentemente enfrentam desafios, incluindo assédio e difamação por parte da audiência. Este estudo foca em dois casos de assédio direcionados à jornalistas brasileiras: Isadora Basile, ex-apresentadora da Xbox News, demitida após sofrer assédio on-line, e Bruna Penilhas, criticada por supostamente não jogar Cuphead antes de analisá-lo. Ambos os casos refletem desafios maiores enfrentados por jornalistas de jogos no Brasil, um país distante dos grandes polos de desenvolvimento de jogos, que depende de coberturas estrangeiras. O estudo adota uma metodologia de estudo de casos múltiplos, analisando a cobertura jornalística dos eventos e discutindo a interação entre jornalistas e suas comunidades de fãs. Esses conflitos são enquadrados dentro de uma cultura mais ampla de fanatismo e assédio on-line, ilustrando desafios éticos e sociais no jornalismo de jogos.

Tugas ini menganalisis peran vital jurnalis dan pers dalam mengawasi sistem pemerintahan demokrasi, dengan mengambil studi kasus liputan Tim Mata Najwa di Lapas Sukamiskin pada Juli 2018. Investigasi ini menemukan bahwa narapidana kasus korupsi, termasuk Setya Novanto, mendapatkan fasilitas mewah dan perlakuan khusus. Temuan ini merusak reputasi petugas lapas , serta menimbulkan tekanan publik dan menurunnya kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap institusi hukum. Secara keseluruhan, kasus ini membuktikan bahwa pers berfungsi sebagai watchdog yang esensial dalam menjaga akuntabilitas dan transparansi dalam demokrasi.

La ricerca indaga il ruolo del lessico giornalistico nella diffusione di stereotipi e pregiudizi etnici. L’analisi di titoli e articoli pubblicati da testate italiane nel triennio 2015-2018 rivela come la scelta delle parole possa influenzare la percezione pubblica, con differenze significative a seconda dei contesti di cronaca. I risultati mostrano che il giornalismo contribuisce al consolidamento di pregiudizi, pur non essendo l’unico fattore in gioco, sollevando interrogativi sulla responsabilità etica dell’informazione.

This thesis explores how journalistic lexicon shapes ethnic stereotypes and prejudices. By examining headlines and articles from Italian newspapers (2015–2018), the study highlights how word choice influences public perception, with notable differences depending on the news context. Findings suggest that journalism reinforces existing biases, while not being the sole factor at play, raising questions about the ethical responsibility of the media.

Rezime Dualno obrazovanje kao koncept utemeljen u okviru tehničkih nauka neophodno je graditi i u društveno-humanističkoj naučnoj oblasti. Profesionalni novinari i komunikolozi trebalo bi da budu čuvari javnog interesa, a novinarstvo potpora za razvoj demokratskog društva i transparentne politike. To zahteva odgovornog, profesionalno osposobljenog mediologa, vođenog etičkim principima, sa multidisciplinarnim znanjem sa Fakulteta, ali i iskustvom koje se stiče u redakcijama medija i reporterskim radom sa mesta dešavanja. Neraskidivu vezu obrazovanja i mediološke prakse treba učvrstiti i unaprediti, saglasno Zakonu. U radu je napravljena distinkcija značenja između dualnog obrazovanja, stručne prakse i volonterskog rada. Uz opšte naučne metode: analiza, sinteza, indukcija, dedukcija, komparacija, sačinjen je teorijski okvir rada sa uporednom analizom inostrane prakse, kao i sa istorijskim okvirom u istraživanom predmetnom domenu. Osnovnim ciljem rada-ispitivanjem stavova studenata komunikologije i novinarstva Filozofskog fakulteta Univerziteta u Nišu utvrđeno je da je većina ispitanih studenata voljna da se aspekti dualnog obrazovanja primene na ovoj Katedri, kao i u uopšte u domenu visokog obrazovanja.

El derecho de acceso a los medios públicos, fundamental para garantizar la diversidad informativa, enfrenta importantes desafíos en un contexto marcado por la digitalización y la polarización. Entre los principales obstáculos se encuentran las lagunas legales, la falta de consenso sobre la definición de «grupos significativos» y la ausencia de mecanismos efectivos para su cumplimiento. Este artículo reflexiona sobre estas cuestiones y analiza la reciente propuesta de reglamento para el derecho de acceso del Consell Valencià de Mitjans de Comunicació, cuya implementación ha quedado paralizada tras el cambio legislativo. En un escenario de creciente polarización, desinformación y crisis del periodismo, el derecho de acceso debería cobrar una relevancia aún mayor. Sin embargo, la escasa demanda social y política para su aplicación pone en riesgo la capacidad de los medios públicos para garantizar el pluralismo y la representatividad, pilares fundamentales de la democracia. The free circulation of information in an open and unfettered public sphere is one of the foundations of well-functioning democracies. For theirs proper functioning, access to reliable information is necessary, which — reaching citizens — allows them to make the right decisions and control power. Many factors should be taken into account when analysing the information production process in new and traditional media: publishers-media owners, advertisers-business, communication technologies, public relations institutions, and now algorithms. An important element are also consumers and prosumers of media content, who try to participate in the media flow of information in a more competent or less competent way. The emergence of communication platforms that redistribute information has revolutionized the relationship between the elite, the media, and the public. More importantly, it contributed to the crisis of the public sphere, trust, and defragmentation of societies. Confused citizens...

As Pacific journalists seek codes of ethics of their own, the new draft Australian code of ethics fails to give journalists and the public confidence. An open and comprehensive process of consulation is needed. The code needs to better protect the right to know. 

This study is a content analysis of the implication of tabloidization in the top online news sites of the Philippines: Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI), Manila Bulletin (MB), and Philippine Star (PS). It sought to: determine the amount of tabloidization concepts observed in the three online news sites; and ascertain whether the amount of tabloidization has a significant association with the ranking of the online news sites. It made use of a correlational descriptive research design to acquire data regarding the current status of the phenomenon which is about the infiltration of tabloidization in news media. Also, it is anchored upon the Uses and Dependency theory and Media Dependency theory. Moreover, the study employed quantitative content analysis and purposive sampling method. Public interest is accepted as one of the most important news value. This, coupled with a perception of journalism being unbiased and objective, invests journalism with unparalleled power of agenda setting and guiding public opinion. However, public interest is often compromised at the altar of other interests such as ideology and market. Despite the fact that there seems an a priori understanding of the concept of public interest, the definition and scope of public interest in journalism lacks a general consensus. This study based, on a survey of University students, tries to establish, from the audience perspective, what public interest in journalism should be.

Old newspapers show in black and white what readers used to discuss in history. A scientific approach to researching the past preserved in the press is based on the increasing digitisation of old newspaper collections. Quantitative content analysis can show which topics were relevant in the past. For example, if the term »conspiracy« appeared frequently in the press, the topic was booming. If it was absent, the topic was out of range. This essay examines the conjunctures of conspiracy, its ups and downs. From 1800 to 1933, two cycles could be identified: an initial phase that lasted until the mid-19th century, and a stabilisation phase of the same length. From the beginning of the 20th century, two very short cycles of conspiracy reporting followed: The first began in 1904 at the time of increased German rearmament and peaked during World War I in 1917. A!er a low point in the use of the term in 1923, the second short phase began, which already peaked in 1926. The transition from the third to the fourth cycle of conspiracy reporting, which fell during the crisis period of the defeat of the German Empire and the emergence of the Weimar Republic, must be surprising because it contradicts the hypothesis that a high level of crisis and belief in conspiracies are directly related (e.g. Popper; van Prooijens/Douglas). Instead, the study found that the term had its lowest press resonance in 1923, even though it was one of the most crisis-ridden years in German history. This finding was confirmed when the conspiracy narrative of the stab-in-the-back legend was given special focus. The myth had not been popular in the press since the German capitulation (e.g. Kellerho), but only half a decade later, in 1924 and 1925, when a reactionary Munich newspaper brought the myth to the public's attention on a large scale.

This paper examines the nature of Indian digital news reporting on suicides and suicide attempts within the LGBTQ+ community. The objective is to analyse how these incidents are framed by the media by identifying the dominant narratives, demographic characteristics highlighted, and attributed causes presented in news coverage. Following PRISMA guidelines, this study identified and analysed 164 unique digital news reports published between 2001 and 2022. The analysis reveals that news coverage most frequently focuses on individuals identified as trans women or lesbians, who are in the 19-24 and 25-44 age brackets, and are reported to be in a relationship. The most common narratives constructed in these reports attribute the suicides to family nonacceptance of their relationship or identity and partner separation. Furthermore, hanging and drug/poison ingestion are the most frequently reported methods of suicide, and joint/couple suicides are a significant feature of the media coverage. These findings demonstrate that the portrayal of LGBTQ+ suicide in Indian digital media is a curated narrative, likely shaped by journalistic news values rather than being a direct reflection of population-level trends. This research provides critical insights into the construction of media discourse on a sensitive public health issue and its implications for public perception and policy.

This paper delved into the effects of modern media on the preservation of traditional African moral values and economic development in Ghana. The paper is purely qualitative and relied mainly on related literature. Content and thematic analyses were employed. It was revealed that radio and television, especially in African contexts, serve as medium for passing down cultural norms, values, and practices. By showcasing traditional music, storytelling, and other cultural elements, media platforms contribute to maintaining a sense of continuity in cultural identity. The ability to convey perceptions, hopes, and dreams unrestricted on these platforms enables Africans to actively participate in shaping their cultural narrative. It was revealed that increased media consumption correlates with a rise in support for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, or Questioning, Intersex, Asexual and More (LGBTQIA+) rights in Africa. Also, media can be used as a tool for exacerbating hate speech and propaganda. Media literacy programmes and public awareness campaigns can educate citizens about media's influence and encourage critical thinking. Education systems should integrate cultural education highlighting traditional values, history, and practices into the academic curriculum. Academic institutions should invest in research to continuously monitor media's impact on cultural values and economic development.

Codes of conduct for the practice of journalism.                                                   

In every profession there are codes of conduct that every expert at any job description should practice. They help them become morally responsible of their work and the whole society. Just like other professionalism, journalists have to adhere to the rules that are a must according to the values of the society. It is always good to preserve quality content and making it better. Journalists must invest in quality and prioritize content to business to be an independent monitor of power and the servant of citizens.

Las narrativas transmedia han transformado la forma en que se imparte la docencia. En este contexto los estudiantes y profesores pueden expresar sus experiencias y sus opiniones utilizando diversas herramientas de creacion de contenido compartidas en un entorno mayoritariamente online . Actualmente, se pueden encontrar estudios que apoyan los beneficios del storytelling en la educacion. El objetivo de este articulo es responder a la pregunta: ?cuan eficaz es el uso de la narracion transmedia en la educacion? Pretendemos verificar su efectividad en los procesos de ensenanza. Para ello se ha realizado una revision bibliografica, con el objetivo especifico de identificar como se esta implementando en la educacion.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana portal Kompas menulis pemberitaan tentang kekerasan dan perlindungan anak di sekolah. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi (content analysis) dengan mengkaji 3 (tiga) artikel pada bulan Mei 2025. Artikel yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini hanya yang berkaitan dengan isu kekerasan terhadap anak di sekolah yang ditulis oleh portal kompas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa portal kompas menulis pemberitaan terkait dengan gaya dan jenis berita straight news sehingga informasi tidak tergali lebih dalam. Adanya penggunaan framing yang mengarahkan berpihak kepada korban dan sekolah terkesan abai dalam isu kekerasan terhadap anak. Kajian ini juga menemukan minimnya penggunaan pedoman peliputan pemberitaan anak yang diterbitkan oleh Aliansi Jurnalis Independen (AJI) sebagai panduan dalam peliputan.

Using the case study approach, this chapter examines ethical shortfalls confronting the media in the Internet era. The one case is drawn from a story published in The New York Times in 2015, while the other is a story published in a Zimbabwean newspaper, the Daily News. The objective was to broaden knowledge on how the Internet is impacting ethical practices in local and global political environments. The chapter argues that the Internet's architecture predisposes journalists to a host of unethical practices that were uncommon to the legacy media environment. Its immediacy exerts pressure on journalists to publish stories without adequate verification out of the fear of being “scooped” by competitors and citizen journalists who are less constrained to adhere to old-age journalistic ethics such as factual reporting and verification.

Секуларизмот како општествен проект на 19 и 20 век има противници особено во религискиот фундаментализам. Секуларизмот или водење на световен живот, втемелен на разум и искуство има свои интелектуални основи во хуманизмот, ренесансата, рационализмот, емпиризмот и просветителството.

Dos décadas después de los atentados del 11M es necesario reflexionar sobre el ejercicio periodístico realizado y determinar si la sociedad española vivía uno de los primeros momentos de desinformación o si las acciones editoriales correspondían a un periodismo deficiente. Esta investigación parte de un estudio descriptivo que nos ayuda a contextualizar el objeto de estudio, para, en una segunda fase, que descansa sobre la técnica de la entrevista en profundidad, someter a juicio de cuatro expertos en desinformación y comunicación política la labor de los medios de comunicación y la estrategia de comunicación gubernamental. Tras la investigación, queda demostrado que los medios incurrieron en periodismo deficiente, si bien se aprecian en algunos medios afines al gobierno prácticas desinformativas. Los expertos coinciden en que el gobierno ejecutó una estrategia desinformativa, tratando de engañar a la opinión pública. Todo ello contribuyó a fragmentar el discurso público y afectó las elecciones generales.

The article is devoted to the general comprehensive characteristics of the "journalistic investigations", namely, reports dealing with the issues of committing offences and, particularly, crimes, which are published in the mass media, including online editions. The author analyzes the practice of dissemination of specifi c kind of information, which is relevant in the process of development of the rule of law, on a joint of sciences such as: journalism, criminology and the criminal procedure law, -at the same time offering their own defi nition of the concept "journalistic investigation".

Este trabalho reflete sobre gêneros jornalísticos a partir da análise da cobertura do Massacre do Carandiru, ocorrido em 2 de outubro de 1992. Baseado na abordagem teórico-metodológica de José Marques de Melo (2016), o estudo identificou os gêneros utilizados nos jornais Folha de S. Paulo e Estado de S. Paulo na cobertura do episódio. Os resultados indicaram a prevalência do gênero informativo e o aumento de diversidade de gêneros e formatos textuais no decorrer dos dias. Discutimos que a maior variedade de gêneros e tipos textuais pela Folha de S. Paulo tornou a cobertura deste jornal mais complexa e que, no dia 5 de outubro, se estabeleceu um marco temporal em que se percebe uma mudança na estratégia de gêneros e formato dos textos.

This thesis is about the subtle ways in which discourses on the individual professionalisation of journalists have been fetishised and used since the neoliberal turn to narrow international debates on imbalances in global flows of information and communication; prevent reform of increasingly inegalitarian media systems, and more importantly to dismantle organised resistance and politically divide reporters.

This research will analyze depiction of journalist figure and news director figure in Nightcrawler film about the variety of activities in media field. Also this research will be equalized with journalistic elemen stated by Bill Kovach. Concludes of this research is to knowing the violation representation of Bill Kovach journalistic elemen in Nightcrawler film. This research use qualitative approach method with critical paradigm supported by John Fiske's Television Codes semiotics analysis method. John Fiske stated three level in television codes that is reality level (behavior, environment, appearance, speech, etc), representation level (camera, lighting, dialogue, editing, etc) and ideology level (capitalism, materialism, race, patriarchy, liberalism, etc). Analysis unit which choosen is scenes that present the violation journalistic elemen. therefore, results of this research is to show the codes which reveal the violation of Bill Kovach journalistic elemen like element of truth, verification discipline, and society loyality through sequence set which looked from reality level (behavior, speech), representation level (camera, character, dialog), and ideology level which reveal liberalism ideology, drawn at Lou Bloom's character and Nina's character.

I was honored to introduce Mohammed Mhawish on April 30, 2025, the night the Park Center for Independent Media presented him with an Izzy Award for his reporting on Gaza published in The Nation. Though Mohammed couldn't be there he appeared speaking on videotape, and even through that mediation he moved us all that night with his words, his humanity and his incredible graciousness. We saw and heard a courageous journalist, an eloquent writer and speaker, and a true global citizen, in an auditorium packed with journalists, scholars, students and all our community of progressives and supporters at Ithaca College in upstate New York. In the silences after he left the screen, we were filled with awe and gratitude for his work, and maybe just a little hope.

Accidents in small communities raise some ethical questions for local journalists. How to provide news and simultaneously be sensitive to community and victims? Inspired by research which indicates a shift towards an overall local journalism perspective that does not separate the watchdog role from the caring role, the article discusses journalism practice, tragedy, and ethical decision-making. Despite local journalism's documented "closeness to community", few studies examine relationships between individual,-institutional, and society level including individual decisions, workplace-and institutional practices, and society. Using the covering of a tragic helicopter accident in a small community in Norway as a case, including interviews with journalists, presentations and news texts, findings show that for local journalists, the society level is important. Findings also indicate a change in attitude among journalists when covering tragedy. The normative idea of objectivity, including viewing proximity to community and closeness to sources as unethical, did not come forward in the interviews or in the texts. Instead, embeddedness is perceived as part of all their work, something they need to consider daily. In a hybrid media environment where rumors spread on social media, tragedies call for both an ethic of care, and to exercise the watchdog role. Local journalists keep the community accountable for their digital behavior. By urging its inhabitants to care and reminding them of the importance and responsibilities of being part of the community when a tragedy happens, local journalists contribute to a collective "we", emphasizing local media's important role in the local society.

igital media transmits information faster than traditional media, but it is often met with skepticism regarding its credibility. As digital media becomes increasingly dominant, it is crucial to assess the credibility of its information. This paper presents a study that evaluates the credibility of information on traditional media websites and news portals among journalism and communication university students. A survey of 253 students from seven different journalism and communication departments examines factors influencing media credibility, including medium dependency, interactivity, transparency, argument strength, personal expertise, and information quality. The study employs various machine learning models to validate its findings, showing that traditional media websites are perceived as more credible than news portals, with argument strength and information quality being the most significant contributors to the credibility of information.

Zira medyada yaşanan değişimler, toplumsal değişimlerin hem nedeni hem de sonucu olmasıyla toplumun ayrılmaz bir parçasıdır. Medyayı anlamak, mikro düzeyde toplumu ve daha sonra dünyayı anlamayı sağlar ve toplum/dünya medya aracılığıyla anlamlandırılır. Bu çalışmanın derdi de yükselen bir mecra olarak podcasti anlamaktır. Türkiye’de henüz serpilmeye başlayan podcast mecrası, küresel medya ekosisteminde neredeyse olgunluk dönemine ulaşmış olsa da onun neliğine yönelik sorular hala sorulmaya devam edilmektedir. Bunların en başında ise podcast radyonun bir versiyonu mudur, yoksa dört başı mamur, kendine has yeni bir mecra mıdır sorusu gelmektedir. Bir mecranın hangi toplumsal koşullar içerisinde ortaya çıktığı ve serpildiği, üretim ve tüketim pratikleri ile ortaya koyduğu kültürel anlamlar dizisi ve içerisinde yer alan güç ilişkileri ancak onun en temelde ne olduğu sorusuna yanıt verdikten sonra irdelenebilir. Podcast bu bakımdan göze ilk bakışta bir ara form gibi görünmesiyle problematiktir. O, sesli bir mecra olmasıyla radyo gibidir, fakat üretim pratikleri bakımından radyonun kurumsal yapısına meydan okur. Atası olarak görülen radyo geleneksel bir mecra iken, podcast internetin çocuğudur. Tek bir duyuya seslenen, tek yönlü bir mecra gibi görünse de dinleyici ile ilişki kurma kapasitesine sahiptir. Podcast mecrası bu nitelikleriyle medya değişiminde tarihsel ilerleme anlayışı açısından süreksizlikler yaratır. Bu çalışmada yükselen bir mecra olarak podcastler, karakteristik özellikleri ve sesli medyaya getirdiği teknolojik yeniliklerin yanında, diğer medya ile ilişkileri bakımından irdelenmektedir. Bu doğrultuda podcast mecrası öncelikle radyo üzerinden okunmuş, medyadaki değişim kuramsal düzeyde “iyileştirme” yaklaşımı çerçevesinde ele alınmıştır. Benimsediği bu yaklaşım bakımından çalışma, podcast mecrasını medyalararasılık düzeyinde tartışmaya açmaktadır.

In essence, the topic explores how the moral qualities-such as integrity, empathy, civic responsibility, and courage-of citizens in major countries can serve as the foundation for achieving profound societal, political, and cultural transformations. These transformations are not mere policy adjustments but deep-rooted progress toward more just and sustainable social orders.

Abstract
The present research entitled "Research of the opinions of sports
journalists on ethics in Greek sports journalism ", records the views of sports
editors regarding the observance and application of the rules of journalistic
ethics and ethics. It also records the reasons for the issues that arise
solutions are proposed by the sports authors themselves.
It is a quantitative and qualitative research. An anonymous
questionnaire with open and closed questions was used as data collection
tools. A sample of the research consisted of 112 sports journalists, members
and non-members of the Greek Sports Press Association (P.S.A.T.)
regardless of whether they are members of an Association.
In the main results of the research, as they emerged after the
completion of the questionnaires and the analysis of the data, the minority of
sports editors participating in the research consider that the code of
journalistic ethics is observed from "Very" to "Too much" in the field of sports
journalism. The majority of the sample believe that both the media and sports
editors have political, economic or ideological relations with specific economic
/ business circles with the first reason for serving interests being "Economics
(need for work)". The majority of the respondents of the sports journalists
answer that the media do not "protect" the sports editors, nor the P.S.AT. nor
the Associations (see A.J.D.N.A., A.J.D.N.M.T. etc.). However, most of the
sample states that sports editors can do their job by following the code of
journalistic ethics.
Finally, for the way in which sports editors can do their job in
accordance with the code of journalistic ethics, the prevailing answer is,
"should journalists be independent or work in independent media", and
second comes the answer "to become publishers-owners of Mass Media".

This article is a first review of Trump's Tariff policies following their imposition and subsequent suspension. I disagree with the initial reaction of top mainstream economists, who considered the Tariff policy sheer madness because it does not refer to any version of economic theory. Tramp is trying to balance the trade deficit and the huge public debt through tariffs and negotiations. Of course, this is an ineffective policy, but for reasons that have little or nothing to do with mainstream theory. Forensic science is vital to the justice system, where the integrity and ethics of professionals directly affect the accuracy of investigations and legal outcomes. This article examines the importance of ethical practices in crime scene investigations (CSI), focusing on John Stuart Mill’s utilitarianism. Mill’s philosophy, which seeks the greatest happiness for the greatest number, serves as a guiding principle for forensic scientists to make decisions that promote fairness and justice in legal proceedings. The article highlights how forensic professionals can apply utilitarian ethics to ensure objectivity and transparency, minimizing harm and fostering trust in the legal process.
Furthermore, the increasing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in forensic science introduces new opportunities and challenges. AI technologies, such as facial recognition and predictive analytics, have revolutionized the way evidence is analyzed, making processes faster and more efficient. However, ethical concerns, including bias, privacy issues, and accountability, arise as AI tools become more integrated into forensic practices, especially in third-world countries. The article explores both the advantages and limitations of AI in forensic science, emphasizing the need for careful, equitable, and ethical implementation to ensure that technology serves the public good without compromising justice.

This article addresses some questions relating to Trump's tariff announcements and his subsequent tactical reversal. My central point is that Trump's policies are highly contradictory. If his tariffs are implemented, the most probable outcome is that the  Dollar will cease to be the main reserve currency and major US companies -like Apple- will be hurt. Trump has realized this and is now implementing this Pan B. That is to achieve bilateral trade agreements with most countries. This way, He expects to reinstate the US as the sole superpower. Nevertheless, it is impossible to overturn the country's competitive position through trade negotiations (PARON 13/04/2025).
