Biografia Pedro Andrade (P. A.)-Bom dia, Luís Baldini. Olha, antes de começarmos a conversar sobre as tuas obras, gostaria de te colocar algumas perguntas sobre ti, para nos conhecermos melhor. Muitas obras de graffiti são feitas por jovens. Tu és um jovem, mas que idade tens, se não é indiscrição? Luis Baldini (L. B.)-Um jovem de 41 anos (risos). B.-Sou aqui uma grande mistura, pronto. Os meus pais são de Moçambique, mas o background deles é indiano, é francês, grego e italiano. E... alentejano (risos). Pronto, eu, entretanto acabei por nascer cá, em Leiria, em 1978, e vim aqui para Lisboa aos quatro anos, e aos seis anos fui para a margem sul. E na margem sul foi que eu estabeleci a minha base, o meu quartel.

Le terme urbanité ne traduit pas seulement le caractère de ville par opposition à ruralité, mais une courtoisie, une affabilité construite à travers les échanges, que les graffitis semblent précisément renier. L'article s'efforce de définir cette urbanité paradoxale. Il déplace pour cela l'attention des murs vers les hauteurs, des supports d'inscription périphériques qui les assemblent en galaxies. Il relie alors la pratique des graffeurs (informateurs) et celle des observateurs pour décrire deux relations au défi.

This study examines the role of street murals and graffiti as instruments of resistance, memory, and social change during the 2020 #EndSARS movement in Nigeria. Through a qualitative analysis of over 20 protest artworks, semi-structured interviews with participating artists, and a review of media and non-governmental organisations reports, the study explores how visual culture shaped and sustained collective action against police brutality and systemic oppression. Drawing on theories of protest aesthetics, spatial justice, and the radical imagination, the study argues that these artistic expressions were not peripheral to the movement, but central to its identity, emotional resonance, and global reach. The findings reveal that protest art operated on multiple fronts: symbolically confronting state violence, reclaiming urban space, facilitating communal healing, and circulating transnationally through digital platforms. In doing so, the #EndSARS murals and graffiti extended civic participation beyond the streets, embedding resistance into the urban fabric and digital memory. The study contributes to the literature on African social movements by foregrounding the aesthetic dimension of protest, offering new insights into how art functions as a political and affective practice in authoritarian and postcolonial contexts. It also identifies areas for future research, including comparative protest aesthetics across African cities and the long-term impact of art in transitional justice processes.

Resumen: Se presenta una reflexión sobre la tendencia a incluir lo orgánico en el arte y cómo corrientes estéticas como el land art han evolucionado hacia formas que pretenden concienciar sobre los problemas medioambientales a los que se enfrenta la sociedad actual. Se parte de esos conceptos para llegar al análisis del upcycling y su aplicación no solo a la moda sino también al diseño y la artesanía. Se retoma el caso de dos autores de Jaén, Nati Rodríguez y Antonio Martínez, desde lo conceptual y estético a lo material, dado el reto que supone para la historia del arte, la gestión patrimonial y la conservación-restauración el enfrentarse a estos nuevos materiales. After Distancing offers readers a re-evaluation of the notion of publicness as a lens to unpack the complexity of urban space. A "new index" is proposed to reconstitute the promises and the predicaments of public space to better prepare for the contemporary challenges of post-pandemic, conflict-ridden society. Part I provides a theoretical introduction to the idea of public space and publicness, laying out the book's rationale; Part II offers a new index of terms, including affects, alignments, atmosphere, conviviality, diagrams, documenting, flow, and more; and Part III applies the proposed lexicon with a "random walk" approach, inviting the reader to use the lens of nonlinear evolutionary dynamics as a means for envisioning the future of publicness. This book is the outcome of a conversation across disciplines-specifically, urban design and social theory-revolving around the recognition that public space is inherently fragile, messy, conflicted, and evolving. This book will be of interest to urban planners, architects, and urban designers, as well as human geographers, sociologists, political theorists, and those working in community development.

The "Who's Afraid of Red?" project is a collaborative art initiative that uses collective creation to reimagine the value of art, directly countering the logic of traditional capitalism. This collaborative three-dimensional experiment is based on German artist Joseph Beuys's concept "Jeder Mensch ist ein Künstler" (Every man is an artist) and his famous phrase "Kunst = Kapital" (Art = Capital). Beuys saw capital not simply as money, but as the creative potential of every human being. The proposal is that this potential (art) should be the force that moves society, "circulating" and connecting people, instead of money. The final result was an art installation created collectively with undergraduate students from the Visual Arts Program of the Department of Arts at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (DEART/UFRN).

O projeto "Quem tem medo do vermelho?" é uma iniciativa de arte colaborativa que usa a criação coletiva para reimaginar o valor da arte, indo diretamente contra a lógica do capitalismo tradicional. Essa experimentação tridimensional colaborativa parte do conceito do artista alemão Joseph Beuys "Jeder Mensch ist ein Künstler" (Todo homem é um artista) e sua famosa frase "Kunst = Kapital" (Arte = Capital). Beuys não via capital apenas como dinheiro, mas como o potencial criativo de cada ser humano. A proposta é que esse potencial (a arte) deveria ser a força que move a sociedade, "circulando" e conectando as pessoas, em vez do dinheiro. O resultado final foi uma instalação artística feita coletivamente com alunos de graduação do Curso de Artes Visuais do Departamento de Artes da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (DEART/UFRN)

Grecia [479-338 a.C.] → El caso de Grecia presenta claras distinciones profesionales respecto al caso Egipto, pues no hicieron tumbas monumentales, ni sus arquitectos aparecen representados como seres divinizados en sus muros, así como tampoco nos legaron si un solo dibujo arquitectónico, a pesar de que la existencia de miles de vasos nos manifiestan su gran habilidad para el dibujo. A partir de ello, se ha supuesto que el arquitecto griego no solía utilizar ni dibujos ni maquetas para planear previamente sus diseños arquitectónicos, sino que por el contrario, los arquitectos daban verbalmente sus indicaciones a los albañiles, mismas que dejaban de manera escrita en la propia obra, llamadas syngraphai.

This article presents a study undertaken to investigate how effectively the "Conversation Wall" project serves to connect between students and the student support program at a Midwestern university. The Conversation Wall project has been launched by using the glass window space located in front of the Center for Student Support Program. It serves as a tool for learning about students' perceptions and experiences related to their campus as well as social and cultural lives. To conceptualize anonymous texts written on the wall, graffiti studies are applied to this study. Both graffiti and texts written on the wall can be loosely defined as writing or drawings on a publicly accessible surface, and they are considered an important source of data for the analysis of cultural production and language use. A total of 1309 texts were transcribed and subjected to content analysis. The results reveal students' social and cultural lives, the campus climate, the issues that the students care about, and what they need from their university. This article discusses findings and provides recommendations for further improvement to the Student Success Program.

Politikat me në fokus të rinjtë përbëjnë një ndër mekanizmat më të rëndësishëm për zhvillimin social dhe ekonomik afatgjatë të një vendi. Në kontekstin shqiptar, të rinjtë përbëjnë një pjesë të konsiderueshme të popullsisë, por shpesh përballen me vështirësi të ndërlidhura me papunësinë, mungesën e përfaqësimit dhe mungesën e përgatitjes për tregun e punës. La siguiente investigación se enmarca al interior de las transformaciones urbanas que suceden alrededor del mundo realizadas a partir del arte. En el marco de lo mencionado se analiza como estudio de caso el área monumental del Callao a partir de la intervención de un actor privado (Proyecto Fugaz) Será a partir de lo descrito que la pregunta de investigación es ¿Cómo se constituye, organiza y legitima la intervención del Proyecto Fugaz en un área urbano marginal (área monumental del Callao) entre los años 2015 – 2017? The place is Aliko Beach, Naxos Island, Greece. The time is 12:27 pm, August 2, 2020. The breeze of the Aegean Sea at the abandoned hotel on this low hill overlooking the sea allows my presence under the strong midday sun. I stand in the middle of a slightly discolored turquoise circle with a pointed arrow reading "point of view" (Fig. ). I adjust my body to the circle and my eyes follow the instructions on the floor. I'm staring at Beaching, as I would find out later. It depicts two colorful, supernaturally big birds. I wonder whether this is one of the many rare species residing in the fragile ecosystem of the area that was disturbed when this hotel was erected in the early 1970s. The bird feathers somehow resemble the local famous cedar forest. The pictorial scene is completed with a blue sky and a beach fusing the drawing with the reality. Of course, this is not my first encounter with WD's work. Yet, it is the first time that this encounter is directed. I look around and see more WD pieces and couldn't resist exploring the entire site. I start walking and remember the words of urban designer Gordon Cullen (1961, 118) on embodied perception: we apprehend space "through kinesthetic experience." Gorillas, sea dragons, elves, three-eyed giants, and all sorts of exotic animals and surreal creatures inhabit the abandoned hotel. But they don't just occupy they walls. Desde antiguo, escribir en las paredes -grafiti-se ha interpretado como una forma de vandalismo cuando no de iconoclastia, sin embargo, el grafiti moderno surgido a finales de los años sesenta en Filadelfia se ha considerado como un modo de hacer arte. Años después, principalmente en los suburbios de Nueva York, la emergente cultura del hip hop junto al grafiti dio lugar al primer arte callejero, extendido mundialmente y que ha llegado a configurarse como una práctica urbana bien conocida en Europa en los años noventa. Bajo el apodo de "Banksy", el artista británico ha revolucionado la práctica del arte callejero en tanto que intervención política en la ciudad; de modo irónico, probablemente sea el artista callejero más conocido a pesar de su ocultarse con una máscara. Mediante el análisis del falso documental Exit Through the Gift Shop (2010) y del "Bemusement Park" (parque desconcertante) Dismaland (2015), la primera incursión de Banksy en el comisariado de una exposición colectiva, este artículo muestra cómo, a pesar de sus diferencias en cuanto al formato, las dos piezas comparten un mismo objetivo. This volume presents the contributions of the conference held in Rome at the Museo Laboratorio Arte Contemporanea (MLAC) at Sapienza University in April 2022. There international scholars and experts in the field of graffiti writing as well as renowned writers from Rome and Milan came together for intense discussion and exchange. Texts and images present current research and answer to the question of style between the two apparently distant but somehow interconnected fields of art history and graffiti writing.

Since the 1980s and 1990s, art has played a pivotal role in urban planning, especially when instrumentalized within large-scale urban renewal operations. This instrumentalization has been broadly linked to public policy schemes and public-private partnerships, often involving the implementation of spectacular cultural centers positioned as flagships for revamping entire urban brands. While large-scale arts-led urban planning still endures, today we observe a new phenomenon in the instrumentalization of art within city-making: the sponsorship of temporary artworks at the construction sites of private real estate developments for speculative and (self)marketing purposes. This article questions how this new phenomenon differs from the 1980s-90s model and how it relates to controversial planning trends of temporary urbanism/tactical urbanism. The article uses the A-Fence street-art project by developer Covivio in Berlin to illustrate how temporary artwashing during construction can revitalize a small urban area cheaply and independently while programming land speculation and gentrification following private interests. It shows how developers, in response to the vilification of the real estate sector amid Berlin's rampant housing shortage, strategically exploit artists' labor to revamp their own image through digital marketing, and reveals contemporary interplays between private business marketing and city marketing.

En las varias revistas que inventó, el artista Edgardo Antonio Vigo (1928 - 1997) buscó provocar la participación del público, generando desconcierto mediante objetos y formas expresivas que se alejaban mucho de las artes tradicionales y de sus cánones. Hexágono ’71 fue uno de esos proyectos: una revista ensamblada, de factura artesanal, que articuló materiales y discursos provenientes de la radicalización política con una voluntad de experimentación vanguardista. El análisis de esta revista, realizada, dirigida y editada por Vigo, permite pensar lo político del arte de un modo muy diferente al habitual concepto de artista comprometido, e invita a revisar sin preconceptos los proyectos creativos de una década particularmente intensa.

Ho scelto il Collage, come forma d'arte prediletta. Che di per sé, in verità, è una non-forma, per come lo intendo io. L'unico valore aggiunto o margine di scarto, che il collage porta con sé, è il fatto di tenere insieme, nello stesso spazio, cose tra loro lontane e talvolta nemiche o addirittura in contrasto tra loro. Il collage, per sua stessa natura, è la Crasi per antonomasia, sia nell'accezione linguistica di azione sincreta per contrazione, che il significato afferente alla Teoria degli Umori riguardo al co-niugare tra loro e tenere assieme le parti per giungere a un unico tutto. Più parti costituiscono la realtà e molti lati e angoli detiene il mondo nella sua con-fusione informe e caotica; singole parti anche tra loro antagoniste e in contrapposizione, che nel collage trovano accordo attraverso il confronto per accostamento e per contrasto, in una dinamica dialettica e dialogica. Il collage per sua indole e ultima ratio, dunque è l'Arte della Sincrasia. Prima fase. Alfa. Semi di Zizzania. Separa gli Amici ovvero l'Arte dello Strappo e dello Screzio. L'Artista allora li porterà fuori dal Vaso dell'Informe, avendo riconosciuto in quei cinque elementi di scarto, la possibilità di una nuova vita e di un nuovo significato, emergente dal fatto stesso di metterli sullo stesso Piatto della Bilancia e di provare ricomporli assieme, ciascuno accanto gli altri quattro, reciprocamente e viceversa. Compito dell'Artista è di riportare le cose all'Origine neutra, per capire se la natura stessa o indole o carattere primigenio, di quello specifico elemento, possa non essere stata correttamente individuata all'inizio dall'autore del testo. Compito dell'Artista, assai arduo e rischioso e coraggioso, è di disgregare la Pagina intera per farne dei frammenti di scarto per vedere se alla Morte dell'Intero può corrispondere la Vita Nova, la Ri-Nascita dalle Ceneri di Fenice, del Frammento nella sua propria intima anima. Disintegrare l'Unità Forzata del Corpo Intero, per Soppesare l'Anima nella sua Unità Spontanea e primaria. La scoperta dell'Innato ovvero della Natura della Cosa. Quarta fase. Delta. La Disposizione, ovvero l'Arte di mettere accanto e in comunic-azione i frammenti gli uni con gli altri, secondo una rinnovata e più congeniale ratio di natura e affinità, nel rispetto dell'integrità e della qualità di ciascuno nella propria singolarità. La Disposizione è un punto cruciale del processo di realizzazione del Collage.

El texto relata la trayectoria de un concepto artístico desde su concepción hasta su materialización en el espacio urbano, mostrando cómo las ideas se transforman al enfrentarse con contextos, actores y contingencias reales. A partir de un caso desarrollado en Puebla, se describe el proceso creativo, las adaptaciones necesarias frente a limitaciones técnicas o institucionales, y la interacción con la comunidad. Se enfatiza que el arte en el espacio público no es un acto aislado, sino el resultado de negociaciones, reinterpretaciones y resignificaciones colectivas, donde el concepto inicial viaja y muta hasta convertirse en una experiencia compartida que modifica tanto el lugar como a sus participantes.

The book contains the partial effects of the research realized within the project 'Technologies of Imaging in Communication, Art and Social Sciences' (TICASS). It presents the material gathered and analysed referring to visual messages in urban public spaces in Kenya, on the case study of the Kilifi county, on the coast of the Indian Ocean. These investigations and analyses, based on Paul Martin Lester model of visual communication analysis, are important because all contemporary societies in Europe, Africa and the rest of the world have at stake solving the problems of communication in their urban public spaces saturated with images which may be diversely (accurately, incorrectly, falsely) read by individuals in the city whether by residents, tourists, visitors, or researchers. Creative brains are kept only by sensitive creatures, and the most empathetic are of those associated with visual arts fields, affected even by a minor stir in their surroundings, which is reflected in their creative endeavours. They sub consciously interpret their time. Unpleasantness of war or situations analogous to war have always left a negative mark on their aesthetic interpretations.  History is replete with such examples. But the most stunningly heinous transgressions were exercised by modern mechanisms of war that violated ethics par human perception. The era shattered beliefs of man on humanitarian values. It also caused transformation in the field of aesthetics which is beyond human comprehension. The metamorphosis was so rapid that it brought aesthetics and beauty at antithetical stages, which led the French artist Paul Duchamp to display a urinal as a piece of sculpture in an art exhibition. treet artists have demonstrated their condemnation of Russia’s invasion of a neighbor with murals, both in Ukraine and abroad. The most famous of these artists is Banksy. On a wall of what was once a kindergarten, he has sprayed the image of a child in a judo match overcoming a seemingly far more powerful opponent (an adult with some resemblance to the Russian leader). Although such works of street artists in Ukraine sometimes also show Putin, children are a common theme – often a girl with two stiff braids. Some of these works are presented in this essay, considering the role of the child in them, seeking to understand the role of art in protest as an appropriation and reconfiguration of public space.

Este artigo propõe que a origem da cultura material hominídea está nos rituais corporais coletivos — cortejos, danças, festas tribais — e não nos objetos estáticos ou construções monumentais. A partir da antropologia simbólica, da arqueologia da arte, da filosofia do corpo e da crítica biopolítica, argumenta-se que templos, hospitais, prisões e universidades derivam de tentativas de fixar e prolongar a memória emocional do gesto performativo. Traçamos uma genealogia das construções humanas
com base em práticas rituais vivas. A argumentação é sustentada por autores como Victor Turner, André Leroi-Gourhan, Marcel Mauss, Mircea Eliade, Pierre Clastres, Eduardo Viveiros de Castro, Nise da Silveira, Carl Gustav Jung, Jacques Arpin, Frederick Hickling, Amir Haddad, Camilla Amado, Ray Lima, Júnio Santos e Vera Lúcia

Mediante examen visual y organoléptico se ha determinado las patologías que presenta el mural trazando un estudio de su estado actual. Pasados 6 años, se presentan los cambios detectados en la obra que generan una gran preocupación debido al avance significativo del deterioro de ésta y por ello, el aumento del mal estado de conservación de la obra.

Il saggio propone una riflessione filosofica sulla tensione tra la natura sovversiva della street art e la sua crescente istituzionalizzazione, con particolare attenzione al ruolo di musei e spazi espositivi. Partendo dalla definizione della street art come genere artistico essenzialmente sovversivo – in quanto capace di violare il regime commerciale della visibilità e mettere in discussione l’uso normativo dello spazio pubblico – il saggio distingue criticamente tra street art autentica e forme addomesticate di arte pubblica ufficiale. Attraverso l’analisi di casi concreti, come Under Art Construction di Stefan Mohr, le incursioni museali clandestine di Banksy, Range Ta Chambre di Seth e la mostra 1984 curata da Pietro Rivasi, il saggio mostra come, in alcuni casi, sia possibile preservare l’essenza critica della street art anche in contesti istituzionali. Difendo qui una posizione di “ottimismo moderato” e avanza una teoria normativa secondo cui la street art può sopravvivere alle logiche del potere solo a condizione di mantenere intatta la sua vocazione antagonista.

This paper argues how postcolonial melancholia, as defined by
Paul Gilroy, haunts attempts within Belfast to use public art to
move past the trauma from the Troubles and colonialism’s
lingering impact. We begin by addressing the history of political
murals and re-imaging projects where public art is used to
soften Belfast’s sectarian imagery. We then explore recent
efforts by street artists to re-image the city to make it more
amenable to tourists and middle-class patrons. We conclude
with the reflections from promoters, artists, and graffiti writers
regarding the role of public art as they oscillate between
acknowledging the impossible task of art moving beyond historical
trauma, political upheaval, and colonialism and idealised
notions of art. An overarching middle-class vision of art and the
neoliberal approaches of using it to bolster the city as a tourist
destination fit awkwardly within the postcolonial melancholia
that continues to trouble Belfast.

Αυτό το κείμενο συζητά τις κοινωνικές και αισθητικές λειτουργίες του πολιτικού γκραφίτι σε κοινωνίες κρίσης και εστιάζεται στην περίπτωση της ελληνικής κοινωνίας στην οποία παρατηρείται ο πολλαπλασιασμός των γκραφίτι  στο οπτικό παλίμψηστο των πόλεων μετά το ξέσπασμα της οικονομικής κρίσης και την σύναψη του πρώτου μνημονίου το 2010. Αξιοποιώντας τα ευρήματα έρευνας πεδίου σε αστικές περιοχές της χώρας ανιχνεύει όψεις της πρόσληψης της κρίσης και των δομών της αίσθησης της ελληνικής κοινωνίας μέσα από το λόγο και την αισθητική των πολιτικών γκράφιτι με εκφραστικό-υπαρξιακό περιεχόμενο. Συνυφαίνοντας μια αισθητική προσέγγιση της κρίσης με παρεκβατικές πολιτικές αντιλήψεις και υπαρξιακές αναζητήσεις σε ένα παιγνιώδη καμβά δημιουργικότητας, τα γκράφιτι της κρίσης πολιτικοποιούν το πολιτισμικό παλίμψηστο της πόλης, κωδικοποιούν μορφές διαμαρτυρίας ενάντια στις κυρίαρχες πολιτικές αφηγήσεις και μετατρέπουν την τραυματική εμπειρία της κρίσης σε πηγή έμπνευσης και πολιτισμικής δημιουργίας. 

This text discusses the functions and aesthetics of political graffiti in crisis-ridden societies, focusing on the case of Greek society, where political graffiti has proliferated in the visual landscape of cities since the outbreak of the economic crisis and the signing of the first memorandum in 2010. Based on fieldwork in urban areas of the country, aspects of the perception of the crisis and the sensibility structures of Greek society are examined through the discourse and aesthetics of political graffiti with expressive-existential content. The graffiti of the crisis combine an aesthetic approach to the crisis with transgressive political ideas and existential questions in a playful canvas of creativity. They politicize the cultural palimpsest of the city, encode forms of protest against the dominant political narratives and transform the traumatic experience of the crisis into a source of inspiration and cultural creation.

Ci sono state, come dovevano esserci, molte commemorazioni dei tragici eventi dell'11 settembre 2001. Ciascuno di noi, americani e cittadini di ogni altro paese, ha delle forti emozioni legate a quella giornata: l' orrore tremendo delle immagini che tormentano la nostra memoria; la frustrazione, depressione e rabbia generate dall'inumana ed insensata violenza; l'urgenza di capire cosa significava, cosa significa ed in che modo la consapevolezza di ciò potrebbe guidare le nostre azioni come individui e come nazioni. Nell' ospitare questa mostra commemorativa all'università John Hopkins di Bologna, i nostri intenti sono modesti, ma noi speriamo significativi. L' evocazione delicata e ponderata di Andrea Benetti e Lanfranco Di Rico ci fornisce una interpretazione visiva che speriamo possa portare il visitatore oltre l'immagine gravosa di quel giorno, mentre offre un collegamento per la nostra memoria ed uno stimolo per le nostre interpretazioni di quell' evento che ha cambiato il mondo e che chiameremo per sempre "9-11". As a linguist, our colleague George Grigore took a keen interest in Anatolia and, as a translator, translated several philosophical works, among others. This is why, to pay tribute to him, we offer here the analysis and commentary of a medieval text from his chosen land, the region of Mardin, which for a long time was a zone of both linguistic and religious contact. The text in question is part of the sixth of seven conversations (Maǧālis) that the Nestorian bishop of Nisibis, Elias (975–1046), had in 417/1026 with the vizier Abū l-Qāsim al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlı̄ l-Maġribı̄ (d. 418/1027) and devoted to a comparison of Arabic and Syriac grammars. Several authors have gone before us on this text. But all have studied it within the classical framework of Islamic-Christian controversies. On the other hand, we will be making a strictly linguistic analysis of it, showing that Elias of Nisibis, thanks to his Syriac-Arabic bilingualism, but also to a reflection nourished by logic, not only deconstructs, to a large extent, the myth of a relevant case inflection in Classical Arabic, but also outlines a typology of the means of distinguishing between equivocal structures both orally (intonation and pause) and in writing (punctuation).

Sobre la base de un trabajo de campo etnográfico, el artículo analiza las dinámicas expulsivas del espacio público dirigidas a las personas en situación de calle en la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. Como hipótesis, se sostiene que la caracterización de las políticas públicas para estas poblaciones debe incluir las medidas gubernamentales en torno al
espacio público, las cuales, desde hace tiempo y en la actualidad, fomentan la invisibilización del fenómeno de calle. Nos referimos a la irrupción de las fuerzas de seguridad contra las ranchadas; a la proliferación de una arquitectura hostil; a las organizaciones de vecinos encaminadas a erradicar a las personas en situación de calle de “sus barrios”; etc. Las perspectivas restringidas del espacio público justifican sus medidas apelando a la necesidad de garantizar la “circulación” de “los ciudadanos” y a preservar el “paisaje”.
Dichas políticas predeterminan presencias y usuarios legítimos en el espacio público, forzando el constante desplazamiento de las personas en situación de calle.

A cidade é atravessada por imagens que disputam o olhar, mensagens que saturam o espaço, gestos que, na ânsia de serem vistos, se tornam invisíveis. A arte pública, nesse contexto, enfrenta o desafio de não ser apenas mais uma camada de estímulo, mas sim de instaurar outros modos de escuta, atenção e relação. Esta edição da R3iAP News propõe pensar a arte pública como uma ecologia da atenção -um campo sensível que resiste à lógica da visibilidade instantânea e da rentabilização simbólica do espaço. A atenção, aqui, não é apenas um acto perceptivo, mas uma disposição ética e política. Significa abrir tempo e espaço para o outro, para o lugar, para o acontecimento. À semelhança do que Yves Citton propõe quando fala da atenção como recurso comum a proteger, podemos também conceber a arte pública como prática ecológica: não no sentido ambiental mais imediato, mas como exercício de cuidado com o sensível, com os modos de ver, ouvir e estar juntos. A arte torna-se, assim, não uma intervenção sobre o espaço, mas uma escuta com o espaço. Ao longo desta edição, encontrará exemplos e reflexões que vão nesse sentido. Obras que se recusam ao monumental e ao espectacular, preferindo o diálogo demorado, a inscrição discreta, a relação duradoura. Práticas que convocam a comunidade não como audiência, mas como co-autora. Propostas que fazem da arte pública um laboratório de atenção partilhada, contra a dispersão e o esquecimento. A cidade, neste contexto, não é palco nem vitrine. É matéria viva, feita de camadas temporais, de memórias em disputa, de conflitos latentes, de afectos sedimentados. A arte pública que nos interessa não é a que se sobrepõe a essa matéria, mas a que nela se inscreve -como contraponto, como escavação, como interrupção poética ou política. Os contributos que reunimos -desde intervenções sonoras a projectos comunitários, de debates sobre a descolonização dos monumentos à valorização do património imaterial -configuram um percurso possível por essa paisagem complexa. Mas mais do que mapear respostas, esta edição deseja suscitar perguntas: -Como escutamos o espaço público? -Que vozes ele amplifica, que presenças torna invisíveis? -Que futuro é possível desenhar com e a partir da atenção? Num tempo dominado por aceleração e fragmentação, recuperar a atenção como prática estética e política pode ser um gesto de resistência. E a arte pública, mais do que qualquer outra forma, carrega ainda a potência de transformar o espaço comum em espaço partilhado. Figura singular, António Cruz, cuja biografia se encontra resumida na página que lhe foi consagrada no sítio da Universidade do Porto, a homenagem que a Família e a Câmara Municipal do Porto agora lhe prestam, consagra a pesquisa que através da aguarela o artista fez sobre a luminosidade peculiar da sua cidade, e que foi imortalizada por Manoel de Oliveira no Documentário "O Pintor e a Cidade", de 1956, que inaugurou a introdução da cor na cinematografia portuguesa. Meditação visual e musical sobre a luz, como só a aguarela logra fazê-lo, a obra de António Cruz documenta assim, problematicamente, o encontro/desencontro do artista com a sua cidade, através de um memorial discreto, mas solene, de mármore escuro raiado de branco, projetado pelo arquiteto José Carlos Cruz, onde repousa, expressivamente modelado, o auto-retrato do artista, o qual nos lembra que para, além da pintura, António Cruz praticou, também com mestria, a escultura. Afonso Sanches, Vila do Conde, recebeu a visita do conceituado escultor Ilídio Fontes e do historiador/investigador José Guilherme Abreu que nos vieram falar sobre a arte pública, em geral, e da escultura de Ilídio Fontes, em particular. Este encontro com o escultor Ilídio Fontes e José Guilherme Abreu foi dirigido aos alunos dos cursos de Artes Visuais e Design Gráfico bem como à comunidade escolar em geral, que encheu o Auditório da Escola Secundária D. Afonso Sanches. Na primeira parte foram visualizadas, em projeção feita pelo professor de Artes Plásticas na referida escola e organizador do evento, Moisés Tomé. A apresentação da mostra mais significativa das obras de arte de Ilídio Fontes foi comentada pelo escultor Ilídio Fontes que, de forma muito eloquente, ia explicando os processos técnicos, fundamentos e opções estéticas das principais obras realizadas ao longo da sua longa carreira nas artes plásticas. Desta forma, o público presente, sobretudo os jovens aspirantes a seguir uma via de estudos nas artes plásticas, tiveram a oportunidade de conhecer melhor as obras do artista, materiais utilizados e os diferentes processos de execução tais como: desenhos, gravuras, esculturas ou medalhística. Na segunda parte, o investigador José Guilherme fez uma excelente apresentação sobre arte pública, os seus fundamentos, assim como os diferentes aspetos e finalidades que a arte no espaço público pode ter. Por último, o escultor Ilídio Fontes apresentou todo o processo construtivo de uma obra de arte pública da sua autoria, o "Memorial ao Exército Libertador de 1832". Esta explicação clara e pertinente feita pelo escultor permitiu que o público presente tivesse uma maior perceção do processo construtivo que envolve uma obra de escultura de grandes

This article presents a historical and transdisciplinary lineage of physicians and
psychiatrists who were also artists—poets, musicians, actors, sculptors, painters,
curators, and performers—and argues that their clinical practices were decisively
shaped by their aesthetic ones. Drawing on figures such as Jean-Martin Charcot,
Sigmund Freud, Carl Gustav Jung, Jacob Levy Moreno, Hans Prinzhorn, Osório
Thaumaturgo César, Nise da Silveira, Lula Wanderley, Frederick Hickling, Jaswant
Guzder, Jacques Arpin, and the author himself, it demonstrates that art practice
functions as a primary language of the psyche and a clinical instrument for listening,
diagnosis, and care. Medicine, in this view, is understood as a poetic, theatrical, and
musical practice of relational memory and collective improvisation.

Both creativity and culture are areas that have experienced a rapid growth in interest in recent years. Moreover, there is a growing interest today in understanding creativity as a socio-cultural phenomenon and culture as a transformative, dynamic process. Creativity has traditionally been considered an exceptional quality that only a few people (truly) possess, a cognitive or personality trait 'residing' inside the mind of the creative individual. Conversely, culture has often been seen as 'outside' the person and described as a set of 'things' such as norms, beliefs, values, objects, and so on. The current literature shows a trend towards a different understanding, which recognises the psycho-socio-cultural nature of creative expression and the creative quality of appropriating and participating in culture. Our new, interdisciplinary series Palgrave Studies in Creativity and Culture intends to advance our knowledge of both creativity and cultural studies from the forefront of theory and research within the emerging cultural psychology of creativity, and the intersection between psychology, anthropology, sociology, education, business, and cultural studies. Palgrave Studies in Creativity and Culture is accepting proposals for monographs, Palgrave Pivots and edited collections that bring together creativity and culture. The series has a broader focus than simply the cultural approach to creativity, and is unified by a basic set of premises about creativity and cultural phenomena.

As an independent visual expression, street art won its position in urban culture
at the beginning of the 1990s. Different techniques used to present ideas, such as
spraying, stencilling, putting up stickers or paste-ups, doing site specific
interventions and so on, allowed artists to develop them more carefully and with a
particular sense of the public space. Since 2008 and Lewisohn’s study Street Art;
The Graffiti Revolution, street art has been the subject of academic research on
many occasions. However, the issue of cute/kawaii features in street art has not yet
been the subject of extensive research. 
This paper attempts to find out in what kind of relation within street art
discourse we can place the aesthetic concepts of beauty and that of cute/kawaii,
and whether a trend of producing cute/kawaii street art can be identified. Concepts
of Western cute and Japanese kawaii will be compared, and the relationship
between the concept of cute/kawaii and that of beauty will be addressed. Seen
trough different aesthetic theories an effort is made to understand the relation
between these two opposing and yet today very close concepts. There is also the
question of a possible natural affection on the part of the viewers for the small and
cute things, which we can usually find in stickers and paste-ups.  As a result this
study raises a broader question: to what extent is cute/kawaii aesthetics taking over
the place of beauty in street art.
