Library management involves organizing and managing all library functions to ensure efficient ope... more Library management involves organizing and managing all library functions to ensure efficient operations and user satisfaction by providing the required materials and documents. To enhance user services, libraries are transitioning from manual to electronic systems, a process known as library automation. This study conducts a comparative analysis of the functional modules of two popular library management systems: SOUL and Koha. It evaluates key modules, including acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, serial control, OPAC, and administration, to highlight their features and differences. The findings of this study help libraries make informed decisions in selecting the most suitable software for automating their operations. The study concludes that while both SOUL and Koha offer comprehensive functional modules, Koha stands out as a more userfriendly option due to its flexibility.

During the preparation of this paper an attempt was made to collect the required data from all available sources. However, for study on this topic sample survey method is used. Questionnaire was used as a data collection tool. 140 questionnaires were distributed among faculties & students for collecting relevant data. It is found that changing ICT environment has affected the information seeking behavior of users and library should initiate information literacy programme to make the users aware of library resources and services.

promoting Indian goods. Even after the independence khadi was associated with politics. Only
political leaders and followers of Gandhiji were use to wear khadi. Khadi also known as
‘Khaddar’ is hand-spun and hand-woven material. Khadi was meant to become a supplementary
industry to agriculture, a crucial element in a self-sustaining economy. Khadi, the Hand-spun and
Hand-Woven cloth, whether of cotton, silk or wool, with which we have become familiar, has
seen many ups and downs. Since time immemorial, it has been the prime and universal cottage
industry of this ancient land. The study of khadi clothing choice among college students under
the Textile clothing and Human Psychology. The main objective of our survey was to check
about khadi trends and students choices. Khadi is our national fabric. It is not so popular in
young generation as it does not look lustrous and new. We are trying get information about
students choices.

ज्ञानाचा संग्रह, प्रसार आणि संरक्षण ही ग्रंथालयाची महत्त्वाची कार्य मानली गेली आहेत. ग्रंथालय प्र... more ज्ञानाचा संग्रह, प्रसार आणि संरक्षण ही ग्रंथालयाची महत्त्वाची कार्य मानली गेली आहेत. ग्रंथालय प्राचीन सामाजिक संस्था असून समाजाच्या विकासामध्ये ग्रंथालयाचा मोलाचा वाटा आहे. पुढील पिढीसाठी ज्ञानाचे जतन करण्याच्या भावनेतून ग्रंथालयाचा उदय झाला. ग्रंथसंपदेचे संरक्षण करण्यासाठी २० व्या शतकाच्या मध्यापासून ग्रंथालयाने व्यवस्थापनाची तत्वे स्वीकारली आहेत. यामध्ये ग्रंथालय आपत्ती व्यवस्थापन महत्त्वाचा भाग मानला गेला आहे. ग्रंथालयाच्या कार्यक्षम कार्यासाठी आपत्ती योजना आणि व्यवस्थापन अपरिहार्य आहे. ग्रंथालय आणि माहिती केंद्रे आपत्तींच्या विस्तृत श्रेणीसाठी असुरक्षित आहेत. हा लेख ग्रंथालयांवर येऊ शकणार्या विविध नैसर्गिक आणि मानवनिर्मित आपत्तींवर प्रकाश टाकतो. आपत्तींमुळे ग्रंथालयाच्या इमारती, संग्रह, उपकरणे आणि यंत्रणांना धोका निर्माण होतो. ग्रंथालय आणि माहिती केंद्रांना त्यांचे संग्रह आणि साहित्य जतन करण्यात महत्त्वाची भूमिका बजावावी लागते. त्यामुळे ग्रंथालयांवरील आपत्तींचा घातक परिणाम कमी करण्यासाठी आपत्तीचे सूक्ष्म नियोजन अपरिहार्य आहे. या लेखाचा उद्देश ग्रंथालय आपत्ती व त्यांचे नियोजन कसे करावे? तयारी कशी करावी? प्रतिसाद कसा द्यावा? आणि त्यातून कसे सावरावे? याबद्दल या लेखात चर्चा केली आहे.

जगामध्ये सर्व बाबतीत नेहमीच बदल होत असतात. ग्रंथालय क्षेत्रातही असे बदल होत गेले. सुरुवातीच्या क... more जगामध्ये सर्व बाबतीत नेहमीच बदल होत असतात. ग्रंथालय क्षेत्रातही असे बदल होत गेले. सुरुवातीच्या काळात ग्रंथालये पारंपारिक पद्धतीने काम करीत असत, परंतु माहितीच्या ओघामुळे मनुष्याला अशक्यप्राय वाटणाऱ्या गोष्टी आधुनिक युगात ‘इंटरनेट’ च्या माध्यमामुळे शक्य झाल्या आहेत. माहितीचा शोध घेणे व संकलन करणे आता सोपे होऊ लागले आहे.वाचकांचा वेळ वाचू लागला. माहिती इलेक्ट्रॉनिकच्या विविध माध्यमाव्दारे साठवून ठेवता येऊ लागली. अशाप्रकारे पारंपारिक ग्रंथालयाचे डिजिटल ग्रंथालयात रुपांतर झाले. डिजिटल ग्रंथालय म्हणजे पारंपारिक ग्रंथालय करीत असलेली सर्व कामे संगणक किवा यंत्राच्या सहाय्याने करणे या ग्रंथालयातील साहित्य संग्रह डिजिटल स्वरूपात असतो. या ग्रंथालयात जगातील सर्व माहितीचा संग्रह करता येतो. हि माहिती इंटरनेटच्या माध्यमाव्दारे बहुविध स्वरुपात उपलब्ध होत असल्यामुळे त्याचे आकलन होण्यास सुलभ जाते.

The purpose of this study is to provide the findings of a survey undertaken to determine the use ... more The purpose of this study is to provide the findings of a survey undertaken to determine the use of an online public access catalogue (OPAC) at J.S.S.P. College's library in Goveli. The library hosted the questionnaire-based survey. The questionnaire is issued at random to 200 PG students and 184 completed questionnaires obtained from respondents. The paper examines several elements of OPAC, including knowledge of OPAC, frequency of using OPAC, reason for using OPAC, user approaches to OPAC, problems encountered by the user when using OPAC, and so on.
