Open science includes open data, open-access publications, and collaborative research platforms and aims to democratize scientific research, ensuring accessibility, transparency, and knowledge reusability for societal benefit. In its Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (STIP) 2020, India emphasizes that by adopting open science, India can contribute more effectively to global research, leading to faster innovation and solutions to local and international challenges. However, the ever-growing Indian research community has been facing barriers like access to journals and limited data, and also the perception of the researchers to publish in open access journals. The scenario will completely change with the upcoming One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) 10 being implemented in January 2025. This article delves into the Open Science scenario in general and the Indian perspective on Open Science in particular, focusing on its contributions to global research, sustainable development, and digital equity.

Anche in Italia l'accesso aperto alle pubblicazioni scientifiche è diventato ormai un tema di pressante attualità sia dal punto di vista normativo che per quanto riguarda gli aspetti organizzativi e le ricadute operative nel mondo della ricerca. In an age of exponential research growth and digital dissemination, maintaining the quality and integrity of academic publishing has become increasingly challenging, particularly in the technology and information systems domains. Rising submission volumes, constrained reviewer capacity, and mounting concerns about plagiarism, bias, and unethical authorship practices strain traditional peer review models. Moreover, the lag between submission and publication can leave innovative ideas vulnerable to unauthorized use, especially when rejected manuscripts are inadequately protected.

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into religious settings is a rapidly evolving phenomenon that raises profound theological, ethical, and cultural questions. As AI-driven tools increasingly intersect with faith-based practices, religious communities are grappling with their implications on worship, leadership, and spiritual engagement. This study explores AI's impact on religious and spiritual information practices, particularly in sermon delivery and faith-based discourse. Using qualitative content analysis and sentiment analysis, this study examines nearly 500 comments on AIgenerated sermons to assess public perceptions, emotional responses, and reactions. The findings reveal widespread skepticism, with concerns rooted in biblical prophecy, the belief that AI lacks a soul, and fears of AI worship replacing traditional religious leadership. Despite these concerns, some recognize AI's potential in improving accessibility, religious education, and administrative efficiency. This study highlights the tensions between technological advancements and deeply held spiritual values, offering a nuanced perspective on AI's role in shaping modern faith communities. By grounding the discussion in theories of information practices (McKenzie, 2003), sense-making (Caidi & Karim, 2022), and digital religious engagement (AlAjarma & Buitelaar, 2021), it provides valuable insights for scholars, religious leaders, and technologists seeking responsible AI implementation in faith-based contexts. Integrating AI agents into religious settings calls for approaches that are both culturally aware and spiritually grounded (Perera, 2023). As AI becomes more involved in spiritual life, this study encourages thoughtful conversation about its place in faith-based communities. It explores both the potential benefits and the challenges, emphasizing that technology should support-not replace-religious traditions. The author highlights the importance of using AI to foster meaningful engagement and outreach.

The study compared the influence of trade liberalisation on innovative performance of SMEs in the two largest economies in West Africa – Nigeria and Ghana. This study utilized data from both primary and secondary sources. The six states in Southwest Nigeria, and Ashanti and Greater Accra regions that house more than 50% and 70% of SMEs in Nigeria and Ghana respectively were purposively selected for the study. In order to have a representation of each business line covered in this study, stratified sampling technique was used in selecting SMEs in four major business areas, namely; manufacturing, trade and distribution, service, and agro-allied business. Questionnaire and interview were employed to obtain primary data from the selected SMEs in the study areas. Altogether, 1,247 and 626 SMEs were selected in southwest Nigeria and the two regions in Ghana respectively using simple random sampling technique. This study examined the effect of TQM on the non-financial performance of hospitals in Ekiti State, Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive survey design and the population for this study covered all the 4371 staffs of public Tertiary Institutions in Ekiti State. Using Taro Yamane formula (1967), the sample size for this study was 367 workers. A self-structured questionnaire was used to elicit the needed information from the sampled respondents. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. It was discovered that customers focus, employee involvement and supplier partnership exert a positive but insignificant effect on the treatment outcome of hospitals in Ekiti State. Also, the result revealed that management commitment and training have a positive and significant effect on the treatment outcome of hospitals in Ekiti State. Also, the study revealed that customer focus, management commitment, employee involvement, supplier partnership and training exert a positive and significant effect on the increased patronage of hospitals in Ekiti State, Nigeria. Thus, the results suggest that the management should initiate total quality management initiatives that network the entire organization regularly to attain and sustain high-quality standards and meet customer needs and expectation.

One of the challenges of the educational reform introduced in 1987 was the introduction of continuous assessment as a component of students' final assessment in educational institution. Problems of comparability arise in situations where examinations are conducted by the individual schools. The issue of who takes the overall responsibility of assessing the work of students-the teacher or any accredited examining body-has, in fact, received more attention than any other matters of relevance in education worldwide. The objective of this study was therefore to find out whether administrative and technical problems existed in the assessment and certification of students in the Ghanaian Polytechnics and to find out the causes and the extent to which such factors brought about weaknesses in the conduct of continuous assessment and final examination. The population for the study was Polytechnics in Ghana, and a convenient sample of five polytechnics was used for the study. Multiple Regression Analysis of the results indicated that the assessment of students' academic performance was conducted using a variety of available instruments and methods, and these instruments and methods varied from polytechnic to polytechnic.

Using matching and regression analyses, we measure the difference in citations between
articles posted to Academia.edu and other articles from similar journals, controlling for field,
impact factor, and other variables. Based on a sample size of 31,216 papers, we find that a
paper in a median impact factor journal uploaded to Academia.edu receives 16% more citations
after one year than a similar article not available online, 51% more citations after three
years, and 69% after five years. We also found that articles also posted to Academia.edu
had 58% more citations than articles only posted to other online venues, such as personal
and departmental home pages, after five years.

This study examines managers' perception of environmental sustainability practices among Nigeria's SMEs with a case of the sachet water manufacturers in Anambra State. Nigeria. The study adopted survey design and used primary data. The population for the study is all the 321 sachet water firms registered with NAFDAC in Anambra State, Nigeria. The 321 managers of the sachet water firms formed the sample. The instrument for data collection is Likert-type questionnaire, tested for Cronbach Alpha reliability at 0.87. Descriptive statistics such as frequencies, and percentages were used in answering the research questions while the Z-test was used to analyse the hypotheses. The results shows that the perception of managers of sachet water firms towards their environment is negative; there is significant difference in the perception of managers of sachet water firms on maintenance of healthy environment in the factory and the society; managers' perception have significant effect on ensuring that water supplies are uncontaminated; managers' perception have significant effect on properly disposal of waste from sachet water firms; the managers' perception have significant effect on maintaining hygienic environment. The study concludes that managers of sachet water firms in Anambra State, Nigeria have poor perception about maintenance of hygienic environment within the area they operate. The environmental agencies in Nigeria should set up a recycling mechanism for waste management in Nigeria. This will help for the reuse of the polyethene sachets and reduce the amount of their non-biodegradable materials in the environment.

This study examined kitchen resources, classroom interaction pattern, academic performance and retention of SS2 Chemistry students in Thermochemistry. Fermentation of samples of five different juices, heating capacities of five samples of wood, induced thermal decomposition of five samples of shellfish shells powder and dissolution of five samples of glucose were used for the study. The sample comprised 240 students drawn from four secondary schools in Calabar Education Zone of Cross River State of Nigeria. Quasi experimental factorial research design was used for this study. Chemistry Achievement Test (Cat) and classroom interaction schedule (Cis) was used for data collection. Kuder Richardson formula 20 reliability co_efficient was 0.89 for CAT. The inter rater reliability was 0.89 while the intra rater reliability was 87%.Teaching with kitchen resources produced productive classroom interaction pattern which enhanced the performance and retention of students. It was recommended that teachers should adopt kitchen resources in the teaching of chemistry.

This study was conducted to show the impact of Earth Model in understanding of Earth Geometry by in-service Student Teachers. The problem of poor performance of the Grade 12 pupils in mathematics especially in Earth Geometry and students at Mukuba University has been a matter of concern. To alleviate this problem a study was conducted because teachers are the ones in charge of responsibility of initiating knowledge. The study population included all third year in-service student teachers of mathematics education (MED 330) pursuing a degree programme by distance learning at Mukuba University. Many employees do not have the basic skills necessary to make good financial decisions and employers are beginning to realize that when they are experiencing poor personal financial management it carries over to the work place. This is why the main objective of this study focuses on an evaluation of employees' financial knowledge and their financial well being. This implies that, employees' personal financial well being could be ensured by putting in place sound personal finance management practices. Therefore the study recommends that the management of academia as part of enhancing employee welfare should consider introducing more vibrant personal finance management training programs for the employees, both in and outside the institution. Forest resource exploitation is one of the major issues that has generated serious attention by various scholars due to its implications in the forest ecosystem. This paper attempt a critical assessment of the influence of socioeconomic status on indigenous people awareness and attitude towards forest resource conservation. However, one hundred copies of questionnaire were administered to ten communities in order to evaluate community awareness and attitude towards forest resource conservation. Findings reveal that the socioeconomic status of the people significantly influences the people's awareness as evidence in the data analyses which shows a high significant level. Therefore, if the forest resources must be conserved , adequate measures must be put in place to tackle excessive exploitation of the forest resources.

The study investigate the utilization of laboratory facilities and their relationship with students' academic performance in Calabar. A total of three hundred and fifty students drawn from fourteen public secondary schools were used for this study. The data were analyzed using two instruments which include; questionnaire on utilization (QULF) Chemistry and Achievement Test (CAT). The data collected were analyzed using population t-test and Pearson Product Moment Correlation. However, it was observed from the data analyzed that laboratory facilities are not adequately utilized in secondary schools for teaching Chemistry. It was also noticed that laboratory facilities do not significantly contribute to the variance in students' academic performance in Chemistry.

IJIA's Dialogues series brings together scholars and practitioners from across varied disciplines for discussions of critical contemporary issues that interrogate the boundaries between architecture, art, anthropology, archaeology, and history. Its second instalment, held as a webinar in January 2022, was hosted by Associate Editor Emily Neumeier and featured Christiane Gruber, Stephennie Mulder, and Fernando Luis Martínez Nespral. Their conversation addressed a number of pressing issues related to the teaching of Islamic art in a wide range of classroom settings. The speakers touched upon the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, anti-racism and decolonizing initiatives within the field, and the future of several new and ongoing pedagogical endeavours. The following is an edited excerpt from the original discussion.

The impact an economic system has on the environment is by drawing upon raw materials to keep the system functioning and the left over waste must find their ways back to the natural environment. This paper studied environmental and socio-economic impact of oil exploration in the oil producing area of Niger Delta using data from household survey in Ibeno. The study used intervi observation method and found that there exist evidence of positive impact of multinational company on infrastructure development and socio community. These finding, therefore have some policy implications as discussed in the work.

People's participation in project implementation in the community is generally accepted as a means of mobilizing human and material resources -all directed to increasing productivity and thus improving the living standards of the people. The practicability of this strategy will be a wild dream if it cannot be institutionalized. Hence, a need for some devices such as: engaging Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the implementation committees to help foster people's participation in project execution. This paper focuses on engaging MOU and people's participation in project implementation: imperative for sustainable community development in Nigeria. Being a theoretical research, secondary materials were employed and the result shows that it is the involvement of the intended beneficiaries that can help in the sustainability of projects in the community. It was therefore concluded that, authentic engagements of MOU and people's participation are indispensable in order to make the intended beneficiaries self-reliant in the meeting of their basic needs and the making of the process of their project development self sustainable.

The pattern of spread of medical schools in Nigeria has an effect on the general availability of doctors nationwide and their retention in their primary area of training. Using statistics from the National Population Commission and the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, we determined the pattern of distribution in the geo-political zones in Nigeria. There were 25 fully accredited and 6 partially accredited medical schools. There were 15 Federal, 12 State and four privately owned medical schools, nine in the South South zone with a population of 21,044,081, seven in the South East zone with a population of 16,395,555 and seven in the South West with 27,722,432. In the North Central zone, there were 4 medical schools with a population of 20,369,956, three in the North West with 35,915,467 and only one in the North East with a population of 18,984,299. Training programmes are increasingly drawing attention to the specific skills and knowledge that employees demand for performance. This is formulated on the basis of the challenges that the public sector faces with training programmes that are relevant to employee performance. It is from this ground that the paper assessed the training programmes for employee performance in Tanzania, taking DUWASA as a case. It determined the types of training programmes offered by DUWASA for employee performance and ascertained the link between training programmes and employee performance. A case study design was applied under the mixed approach, which offered a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches, to allow the provision of complete knowledge of the research problem in either one of the approaches. The findings revealed that DUWASA provides different types of training programmes for employees' performance. It facilitates employee performance in terms of knowledge and skills. The training programmes for employee performance have improvement measures to the organization's advantage. Likewise, the findings noted the existence of a strong link or relationship between training and employee performance. In most instances, employees received training for the expectation of performance. The study recommends that DUWASA needs to develop motivational means for employee training programmes. The Ministry of Water needs to provide sufficient funds for DUWASA to offer efficient and effective training programmes for employee performance. In this way, the position of new knowledge and skills acquisition is to improve employees' performance in sensitive organizations such as DUWASA with profound services like water.

This issue of IJTS includes a topical section, ‘Ecologising Taiwan’, which means ‘to think ecologically about, from, as well as by way of Taiwan’. Guest editors Bachner and Wang explain the inspiring contributions and connectivity of the six selected original research papers by Kyle Shernuk, Yuwen Hsiung, Darryl Sterk, Mark McConaghy, Brian Skerratt, and Carlos Rojas. In addition, this issue of IJTS features Phyllis Yu-ting Huang’s research article, ‘The Returnee as an Outsider: Reunion and Division in Wang Quan’an’s Apart Together (團圓, tuan yuan)’, which is not part of the ‘Ecologising Taiwan’ topical section. However, by illuminating how the Chinese filmmaker Wang Quan’an provides an alternative, bottom-up perspective on the ‘Taiwan issue’ which contests the People’s Republic of China’s official discourse of cross-Strait reunification in the movie Apart Together, Huang’s essay echoes the forum discussion in this issue. Gunter Schubert’s position paper, entitled ‘Delimiting “Cross-Strait Studies”: Kua’an (跨岸) vs. Liang’an (兩岸)’, proposes to recognise a new research field of ‘cross-strait studies’, characterised by a specific analytical kua’an (trans-strait, 跨岸) perspective.

La mayoría de las revistas científicas son gestionadas por universidades. El 90% sigue el modelo diamante sin APCs (costes de procesamiento), aunque solo un tercio traduce textos al inglés o permite el acceso anticipado a contenidos. Entre las dificultades operativas destacan la sobrecarga laboral y la falta de recursos económicos. El promedio entre recepción y publicación de textos es de 135 días. En cuanto al apoyo institucional y económico, un tercio de las revistas obtiene ingresos y solo el 25% publica las ayudas recibidas. El financiamiento ideal estimado oscila entre 10.000-15.000 euros anuales. La revisión científica destaca como garante de calidad y objetividad y el 92% considera necesario pagar a quienes revisan. Existe escaso reconocimiento formal a la labor editorial en acreditaciones académicas. Este análisis resalta la necesidad de cambios estructurales y culturales en el sistema académico para apoyar de manera efectiva a las revistas científicas de comunicación. Las propuestas incluyen mayor apoyo institucional, reconocimiento de la labor editorial y profesionalización, con el objetivo de fortalecer el ecosistema editorial y mejorar su sostenibilidad. Al mismo tiempo, es crucial equilibrar la importancia del impacto con la calidad y diversidad del contenido publicado.

Questo articolo esplora il dominio dell’inglese nel mondo accademico italiano, collegandolo a questioni più ampie come i meccanismi di valutazione burocratica e l’impatto  della  globalizzazione  sulla  cultura  europea  e  sulle  discipline  storiche.  L’autore  riflette sulla sua esperienza personale all’interno del sistema accademico italiano e americano, sottolineando che l’uso diffuso dell’inglese è sia un sintomo dell’americanizzazione del mondo accademico italiano sia una conseguenza della globalizzazione. A suo avviso,  la  qualità  della  scrittura  sta  decadendo  a  causa  della  crescente  enfasi  sulla quantità  rispetto  alla  qualità  delle  pubblicazioni  – una conseguenza importante del sistema di valutazione burocratico e perché tutti leggono meno. In definitiva, l’articolo sostiene che la vera sfida consiste nel rivalutare il ruolo della ricerca storica in un contesto globale e tecnologico in rapida evoluzione.

The research intends to explore the behavior of several entrepreneurs in managing their finances in small-medium businesses. Many have studied financial problems in this type of business with the quantitative method, but only few analyse those problems using the qualitative approach. This paper presents some observation and interviews with nine women entrepreneurs based in West Java, Indonesia. Out of twenty entrepreneurs only nine provide sufficient information, and so the research focuses on these nine entrepreneurs. This research continues the previous one which used the quantitative method. The previous research found that economic capital is the significant factor for business sustainability while habitus and environment were not. The study investigated the effects of self-management technique in the enhancement of academic self-concept of secondary school students. Quasi Experimental research design was employed for the study. Academic Self-Concept Scale (ASCA) was used to identify students with low level of self-concept. Forty (40) students with low self-concept were identified and grouped into experimental and control groups. The experimental group was subjected to six weeks of Self-Management Training. The results showed that self-management technique significantly enhanced the academic self-concept of under achievers in secondary schools. It was recommended that counselling psychologists and teachers in secondary schools should adopt self-management technique in improving academic self-concept of under achievers in schools.

Using artificial intelligence to perform a variety of tasks has become increasingly popular in recent years. The latest tool (as of this writing) is DeepSeek, a cutting-edge artificial intelligence assistant that can perform a wide range of tasks. The present study asks DeepSeek to make a list of the pros and cons of self-publishing vs. going with a traditional publisher, a list that could be of great value to an author who is having difficulty deciding which option would be better. The present study is part of a larger study that investigates the possible applications of DeepSeek in a number of different areas. A partial list is included at the end of this study.

This study analyzes the relationship between net sales revenue and Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) viz. advertising, sales promotion, personal selling and direct marketing. It attempts to find the existence of a long-term relationship between the two variables and goes on to analyze the impact of one variable on the other and its possible implications. Seven year quarterly data of ten firms in the Indian Cement industry when analyzed reveals that there is no evidence of cointegration between the above mentioned variables, but the Vector Autoregression (VAR) model suggests that although past sales do not influence current advertising, advertising and sales promotion have a significant effect on the sales of cement after one year. The Impulse Response Function (IRF) and Forecast Error Variance Decomposition (FEVD) also support this view.

This case study attempted to find the role of Business Intelligence (BI) in Knowledge Sharing at Al-Hikma Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company in Jordan. A questionnaire was designed and distributed to the number of (75) employees. A number of (68) questionnaires were returned, (7) were rejected for incomplete responses and ( ) responses (81 percent response rate) were applied in data analyses. The results indicates that the impact of Online Analytical Processing on the Knowledge Sharing is significant. It also indicated that there is some sort of impact of Data Mining on Knowledge Sharing. Additionally the results shows that there was a significant impact of Data Warehousing on Knowledge Sharing. The findings of the study indicates that the Business Intelligence tools that had a greatest impact on Knowledge Sharing are, respectively: Online Analytical Processing, Data Warehousing, and Data Mining.

The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of traffic patterns and user behavior with qualitative insights from industry experts and case studies. This methodology allows for a nuanced understanding of both the macro-level industry transformation and the micro-level adaptations being implemented by individual organizations.
The research's scope encompasses three interconnected dimensions: the technological evolution of search interfaces, the economic implications for digital content creators and platforms, and businesses' strategic responses to this changing landscape. By examining these dimensions simultaneously, the study aims to develop a comprehensive framework for understanding and navigating the emerging AI-mediated information ecosystem.

The ultimate goal of this research is to provide a foundational framework for understanding how AI is reshaping the search landscape and to offer actionable insights for organizations adapting to this new reality. This includes developing theoretical models for understanding AI-driven disruption in digital platforms and providing practical guidelines for content creators and publishers navigating this evolving ecosystem.

This study attempts to determine principal factors considered important by retail investors in choosing an equity share traded in Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and to examine whether there are any significant differences in these factors across demographic characteristics of respondents. To achieve the objectives, this study collected a data from a sample of 351 retail investors in the city of Khulna in Bangladesh through convenience sampling and analyzed it using factor analysis, independent sample t-test and a number of ANOVA. The findings of the study reveal that the most important principal factors influencing retail investors are company specific attributes/reputation, net asset value, and accounting information. The next five principal factors ranked fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth were trading opportunity, publicity, ownership structure, influence of people, and personal financial needs respectively. Findings also suggest that extent of importance given to each of the factors excluding ownership structure significantly differs with at least one demographic characteristics of sample respondents like gender, age, occupation, income, education, and experience.

The study is focused on the challenges of material resource management among social studies lecturers in Nigerian Universities. The study population is one thousand eight hundred and fifty five (1855). The sample size comprises one hundred staff, one hundred and twenty students, and forty internal material resource managers were randomly selected from secondary schools in Delta and Bayelsa States. A 20 item questionnaire was drawn for the study. This was validated by experts and a test for reliability was conducted using the test- retest method. With the Pearson product moment correlation coefficient, the reliability test was established at 0.89. The questionnaire was personally administered by the researcher with some research assistants. Communicative competence plays significant role for engineering students to perform various oral communicative tasks efficiently at workplace following graduation. The respondents for this study were twenty five engineering students who participated in this study from two engineering universities of Pakistan. This study employed purposive sampling method since respondents were drawn on specific criteria of only final year engineering students. The instruments used for this study for data collection purpose were recording of oral presentations to capture
communication strategies employed by engineering students to overcome communication deficiencies during oral presentations. Data were analyzed qualitatively using strategic competence framework of Canale and Swain (1980). Additionally, Dornyei and Scott’s (1995) compiled Inventory of Strategic Language Devices was used to explore the types of strategies that engineering students employ to overcome communication deficiencies when they face any communication deficiencies. Open coding (Richards, 2005; Strauss and Corbin, 1998) was used to code the oral presentation data. The results of the study revealed that engineering students used three communication strategies namely message reduction, code switching, use of fillers and self repetition strategies to overcome communication

Increasingly nowadays 'good governance' is viewed as a keystone in the architecture of effective leadership and "the exercise of political power to manage a nation's affair. It encompasses the state's institutional and structural arrangements in decision-making processes and implementation. The concept has moved to the fore and the aim is to convince decision-makers about the merits of effective management and transparency, and of the need to have effective managers to manage the available resources. However, absences of such have resulted to the persistent crisis of governance such as corruption, mismanagement and have blocked development. This ugly situation has left good governance and accountability as just a mere concept. As a result today, Nigeria is characterized by problems of poverty, disease, ignorance, and above all lack of good managers. Consequently, Poverty, hunger, hunger, diseases, ignorance has moved to the forefront of global concern. Particular importance is the commitment of the United Nations to reduce developing countries' such as Nigeria level of poverty as now reflected in the objectives of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) consisted of 189 membership states.

With the advent of information and communication technologies (ICTs), the scope of publishing has expanded from traditional publishing of information, literature, music, software, and other content available to the public either for sale or for free. Publishing now includes publishing online such as ebooks, academic journals, micro-publishing, websites, blogs, video game publishing, and the like. This chapter aims to give some rudiments of online publishing. This is done by giving a descriptive definition of online publishing; highlighting some advantages of online publishing over conventional publishing, and some websites and/or online publishers/platforms where they can publish online. The chapter concludes by mentioning some challenges that could be faced in online publishing, especially in developing countries like Nigeria. It recommends that one does not need to be an expert before starting to publish one's works electronically, but that one should consciously start from somewhere and become more perfect in the process.
