There are currently many mathematics anxiety rating scales designed typically for adult and older children populations, yet there remains a lack of assessment tools for younger children (< 7 years of age) despite a recent focus on this age range. Following previous testing and validation, the 26-item iteration of the Children's Mathematics Anxiety Scale UK (CMAS-UK) for ages 4-7 years was further validated with 163 children (4-7 years) across two schools in the UK to test the validity and reliability of the items through subsequent exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The predictive validity of the scale was also tested by comparing scale scores against mathematics performance on a mathematics task to determine the relationship between scale and mathematics task scores. Exploratory factor analysis and associated parallel analysis indicated a 19-item scale solution with appropriate item loadings (> 0.45) and high internal consistency (α = 0.88). A single factor model of Online Mathematics Anxiety was related to the experience of an entire mathematics lesson, from first entering the classroom to completing a task. A significant negative correlation was observed between the CMAS-UK and mathematics performance scores, suggesting that children who score high for mathematics anxiety tend to score to perform less well on a mathematics task. Subsequent confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to test a range of module structures; the shortened 19-item CMAS-UK was found to have similar model indices as the 26-item model, resulting in the maintenance of the revised scale. To conclude, the 19-item CMAS-UK provides a reliable assessment of children's mathematics anxiety and has been shown to predict mathematics performance. This research points towards the origins of mathematics anxiety occurring when number is first encountered and supports the utility of the CMAS-UK. Subsequent research in the area should consider and appropriately define an affective component that may underlie mathematics anxiety at older ages. Mathematics anxiety relates to more complex procedures that elude the experiences of younger children and may instead be the result of number-based experiences in the early years of education.

Mark shaming refers to the act of ridiculing or belittling a student based on their academic performance, by parents, teachers, peers or society. Every child, irrespective of his/her abilities, strengths or challenges, is expected to study well and score high marks. It is based on the belief that students should get high marks in school to get into a good college, then get high marks in college to get offered a good job, which will then lead to a successful career. Those children who fall short of these expectations are urged to study more, advised that the child's success in life is directly proportional to their marks, to the extent of even hurting the child physically and emotionally. Is it possible for every child to score high marks with more effort? How well does intelligence connect with one's mark? How well does success connect with one's mark? Is marks the only aspect of education? This paper explores the realities of these aspects. It also discusses the impact of mark shaming and provides suggestions and real-time solutions on how to deal with low academic achievement.

The purpose of this research is to examine the digital skills that primary education teachers developed during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis and how they can utilize them in the post-Covid 19 environment. The research was quantitative and was done by distributing a questionnaire to a convenience sample of 172 teachers in the prefectures of Magnesia and Attica. The questionnaire was developed from the authors and it has been made in such a way that it can provide answers to the relevant research questions and also ensure the coherence of the work. Data analysis was done in SPSS using descriptive and inferential statistics. The research aims on examining an issue which has affected the whole of the teaching community. The Covid-19 crises has forced many educators to adopt into a new environment, which is the digital teaching environment so to cope with the new learning environment that the digital transformation has brought. Nonetheless, many educators-but also students and their parents-were not prepared to cope with the digital transformation that Covid-19 brought, while others face several difficulties. Many of those teaching practices are continue to exist in the post Covid-19 environment. Hence it is essential to examine those skills and which ones will be utilised in today's learning environment. In relation to the results, on average primary school teachers answered that during the pandemic they had acquired a satisfactory, neither high nor low, level of digital skills. Furthermore, respondents on average agreed that their digital skills improved a lot during the pandemic. Most teachers used experiential learning techniques, special learning platforms and use of email. More than one in two teachers agreed that they had used the seminars made from local education districts to develop their digital skills. Also, one in two participants had used the Ministry of Education's seminars to acquire digital skills. In addition, the respondents indicated that in the future and in the post-Covid-19 era, they will make a lot of use of the digital skills they acquired during the pandemic, adding that they will make a lot of use of the e-class and Google platforms apps and will make a little use of the e-me and Grafis platforms. In relation to the barriers, elements such as the skills of students and their parents, the lack of skills of the school administrative staff, the lack of skills of the administrative staff of the Ministry of Education, and ineffective leadership were some of the barriers. mentioned. Finally, regarding the effect of demographic and service data, years of service had a statistically significant effect on the acquisition of digital skills during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Across the linguistically diverse ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) member states, English has been acknowledged as the sole official working language. It serves as a unifying medium in business, diplomacy, and education. This study explores emerging assessment practices and methodologies in English language teaching within the regional context over the last five years, considering Kachru's 3 Concentric Circles Model of the English Language. Using databases and following the PRISMA flow, the selected articles were verified by the three experts in English language teaching. A total of 12 published articles met the eligibility criteria: four from Malaysia, four from the Philippines, and four from Indonesia. With Braun and Clarke's thematic analysis steps, key factors influencing English language assessment were identified from the validated studies: benchmarking, learner autonomy, ICT integration, upskilling, and preparation for workforce demand. Based on these insights, the meth-synthesis proposes a new framework aimed at addressing the identified challenges. The findings of this study have significant implications for enhancing the quality of English language assessment across ASEAN countries.

Where there is life, there is conflict. It is the nature of beings to differ and to clash; what matters is how peace is restored. Conflict resolution is solution and essential for emotional and intellectual development too, especially for first-year undergraduates' diverse cultures. This study examines emerging adults' conflict resolution beliefs in Nagaland, India, where indigenous values and educational transitions impact interpersonal behaviour. The goal is to evaluate attitudes and demographics. The study follows a descriptive quantitative design and is based on primary data collected from 226 students enrolled in social science and language programs across government and private colleges in Kohima and Dimapur. A modified ASCRA-VS scale was used for data collection via self-administered Google Forms. The sampling method was non-probability purposive, targeting first-year undergraduates. Research showed that 73.5% of students have an average conflict resolution attitude. Female students scored higher on the "role and responsibility" category statistically. Based on family type, residence, or institutional membership, attitudes were similar across groups. The study concludes that while students demonstrate a moderate readiness for constructive conflict management, targeted interventions are needed to further strengthen their competencies. Gender-responsive programs could enhance role-taking skills, and culturally contextual training can promote socio-emotional well-being. This study emphasizes the need for conflict resolution education in college curriculum, especially in tribal and multicultural contexts. Theory and practice in youth development. The aim of this study was to identify factors that negatively influence students’ performance in Grade 7 mathematics in the district of Berea of Lesotho. A Bronfenbrenner’s model of child development and the constructivist theory were used to frame the study. The sample was drawn from the population of 98 primary schools in the Berea district of Lesotho. Of the 98 primary schools in the Berea district 15 were purposively sampled for participation in the study. This sample represented more than 10% of the study population. Participating schools were selected on the criterion that they persistently registered poor performance in Grade 7 mathematics. The poor performance of n=15 schools was determined through an evaluation of their performance trends. Ageing population is rapidly increasing in Nepal due to the decrement in fertility rate and increment in life expectancy. Alongside this, due to modernization and industrialization, people in this competitive economy are living individualistic lives, and elderly care has been considered a burden and unproductive field, which forces many senior citizens to end their later lives in care centers and old age homes. The main objective of the study is to explore the religious, cultural, and social perceptions of older adults living in old age homes towards death and dying and also to study the role of the care centers and caregivers in shaping the image of death and dying. This research used primary and secondary sources of information, and interviews were conducted using the qualitative data collection method. This paper explored the perception of the elderly towards life and death, images of death and dying, frequency of thinking about death, paths, and motivation to improve the factors affecting the attitude towards death and dying, and the role of care centers and caregivers in shaping the attitude of the elderly towards death and dying. From this paper, it is `hoped that policymakers, researchers, and caregivers will take attitudes towards death and dying into consideration while providing services and facilities to the elderly and the hope is to promote more active and fruitful ageing.

This study explores the influence of students' social attributes on their mathematics performance at Arcelo Memorial National High School to identify interventions for improving academic outcomes. Employing a descriptive correlational research design, 243 students were selected through systematic random sampling, guided by Slovin's formula. Data were gathered using a social attributes checklist and students' second-quarter mathematics grades. Analytical tools included percentage, frequency count, weighted mean, and Pearson's r. Results showed that most students were 13 years old, with an almost equal number of males and females. The majority of their parents were high school graduates, and most families earned a monthly income of Php10, 000 or below. Students' grades predominantly indicated an approaching proficiency level. Social attributes findings revealed neutral perceptions of individual attributes and positive perceptions of social skills and peer relationships. The study concluded that mathematics performance was significantly influenced by social skills and peer relationships, while individual attributes had no direct effect. However, developing individual attributes could enhance social skills and peer relationships. Teachers are encouraged to implement the proposed action plan to improve student performance in mathematics. Further research on this topic is recommended to deepen understanding and support evidence-based strategies.

The research suggests predeparture cultural adaptation initiatives should become part of internationalization strategies while calling for systems to create adaptable technological cultural training solutions. Institutional sustainability together with international reputation growth become achievable through these forward-thinking approaches that simplify student adaptation. In tertiary education, success is not purely about intelligence; self-discipline, diligence, initiative, and determination are pillars that one keeps there. This study delves into the academic challenges of working scholars at Northeastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU), a state university in Surigao del Sur, Mindanao, Philippines. This exploration sought to explore the academic challenges of working scholars in terms of financial, social, psychological, teachers' factors, and classroom environment. The study utilized a mixed methods approach where a researcher-made checklist survey questionnaire was employed to come up with the quantitative result. Further, the researchers also conducted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the working scholars in which the responses were thematically extracted to derive an elaborated result from the quantitative data, leading this study a mixed method design-an explanatory approach. It has been found out that university students are working while studying to support their underprivileged families; sustain their scholastic expenses for their dreams of having a better life; lack of financial support from their families due to unemployment, death, and health concerns; and to prove to others that poverty is not a predicament in education if one is determined to succeed. The primary academic challenge of working scholars in their daily lives is financial problems, which are attributed to school-related expenses (requirements), needs, and wants. In addition, working scholars are also psychologically challenged because of external discouragement and a lack of moral support from their families.

The incidence of suicidal ideation among university students has pose a great concern to school counsellors in various universities in Nigeria. School counsellors are in good position to curb the menace of suicidal ideation among students in school. However, students are vulnerable to the problem of suicidal ideation due to frequent occurrence of academic conflicts, low academic performance, anxiety, sexual harassment, substance abuse, financial problems, hostility, anger and others. Therefore, the paper intends to examine the role of school counsellors in curbing the menace of suicidal ideation among university students in Nigeria. The paper also highlights the concept of suicidal ideation, types of suicidal ideation, warning signs of suicidal ideation, prevalence of suicidal ideation, and strategies for reducing the menace ofsuicidal ideation. Based on the suggestions made in this paper; government and education stakeholders should help in the training and retraining of school counsellors in tackling the menace of suicidal ideation among university students; University based-mental health services should be established in various universities in Nigeria and these services should aim at finding out and taking care of those with mental health illness and prevent the incidents of suicidal ideation.

Mathematics requires both comprehension and competence, which, once developed, benefit learners in daily life. This descriptive-correlational and explanatory study filled the gap by determining the mediating effect of vocabulary skills on the relationship between comprehension abilities and mathematics performance of 146 grade 7 students, chosen through multi-stage sampling techniques, in two select schools in Cabuyao City, Philippines, in 2024-2025. The respondents answered valid and reliable instruments with ethical considerations. The study used weighted mean, standard deviation, multiple regression bootstrap technique, mediated regression bootstrap technique, and PLS-SEM. The outcomes showed high levels of mathematics vocabulary skills and reading comprehension abilities, while mathematics performance reached satisfactory levels among the students. Multiple regression bootstrap technique revealed mathematics vocabulary as the most important factor affecting students' mathematics performance, while reading comprehension abilities have no direct significant effect with the presence of mathematics vocabulary. Furthermore, mediated regression bootstrap technique and PLS-SEM displayed a significant total effect of reading comprehension abilities on mathematics performance and the indirect effect flowing through mathematics vocabulary skills was significant. Mathematical vocabulary skills entirely mediate the indirect effect of reading comprehension abilities on mathematics performance exemplifying full mediation. It suggests that mathematics vocabulary skills are essential in enhancing reading comprehension abilities, thereby reinforcing their crucial role in academic achievement. Educators are encouraged to integrate vocabulary-focused strategies, administrators to support professional development in math literacy, and local officials to fund programs that strengthen foundational language skills in mathematics.

An oral reading technique using a pre-selected science text passage determined the participants' fluency in science in terms of word recognition and decoding, reading speed, and reading prosody. The results show that our third graders registered low ratings in all the three components of reading fluency. They are categorised as instructional readers of common terms, but are frustrated readers of science terms. They have very low reading speed and based on their reading prosody, more than half of these learners are labelled as non-fluent readers. This resulting dysfluency may be sourced from non-congruence of the complex morpheme and phonemes of English medium compared to the home language of the learners (Filipino). The home language of learners in the Philippines depends on ethno-linguistics grouping, thus a comparative study may be done to extract more information on how to align and help our learners be ready to accommodate level 4 science.

The study was undertaken to find the relationship between Perceived Attitude, and Self-Efficacy to the Performance in Calculus of Grade 12 students in Shanghai, China. A group of 23 Grade 12 students (treatment group) who are taking International Baccalaureate Degree Program (IBPD) Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches-Higher Level Class were invited to take part in the study, and they provided their responses answering the online survey through Wechat mini app. The "Attitudes toward Mathematics Inventory" (ATMI) through Likert-style, was modified into a set of distinguished answers. Forty (40) semantically differentiated. A survey instrument was used and adapted to measure the perceived self-efficacy of the subjects. Pearson r was used to find out the relationship between perceived attitude and performance in Calculus under the treatment group after receiving instruction using digital textbook (Kognity) and find out the relationship between perceived self-efficacy and performance in Calculus of the subjects under the treatment group after receiving instruction using digital textbook (Kognity). Results showed the impact of students' attitudes and self-efficacy on calculus performance following instruction using the Kognity digital textbook. Analysis of 23 students revealed significant positive correlations between performance and three attitude components: confidence (r = 0.61, p = 0.003), enjoyment (r = 0.52, p = 0.012), and perceived value (r = 0.47, p = 0.023). Regression analysis showed confidence (β = 0.42, p = 0.008) and enjoyment (β = 0.28, p = 0.045) significantly predicted performance, while perceived value did not (β = 0.19, p = 0.142). A particularly strong relationship appeared between self-efficacy and performance (r = 0.65, p = 0.001), with self-efficacy accounting for 42% of performance variance (β = 0.65, p = 0.001). Students with higher selfefficacy scored an average of 6.5% higher per unit increase on the self-efficacy scale. Performance outcomes ranged from 63% to 100% (M = 85.4%, SD = 10.2), while self-efficacy scores averaged 3.8/5 (SD = 0.9). These results prove that both affective factors and self-belief significantly influence calculus achievement in digital learning environments. Confidence and self-efficacy showed particularly strong predictive power, suggesting digital platforms should prioritize features that build mathematical self-assurance through scaffolded challenges and mastery experiences. While enjoyment stays important, perceived value of calculus showed weaker direct effects on immediate performance outcomes.

Transgender people make up quite a bit of the modern world's population. We know that the overall development of the country or nation requires all kinds of people, friends, development of technology, and this development is possible through proper education. In this perspective, it can be said that the problems of Transgenders in the country can be a hindrance. In this research paper, the researcher prepared a survey of 15 questions and collected data from 110 people sampled from different states of India. The purpose of the researcher here was to find out the educational laws applicable to Transgenders. To find out the difference in transgender education laws of different countries and to understand the significance of these education laws for transgender people in India. To select the sample from the population the researcher used the perceptual sampling technique of Non-Probability Sampling. Researchers have found that transgender people in Argentina enjoy the right to free, compulsory and secular education. In several countries, some schools provide special facilities for transgenders. The researcher believes that if appropriate laws are enacted for transgenders in the Indian education system, transgender students will have equal opportunities in education with normal students and will be able to participate in the development of the country.

This study examined the influence of managerial capability, e-fluency, and organizational culture on the research practices of school heads in Region X-Northern Mindanao during the school year 2024-2025. It assessed school heads' managerial capability in terms of school operation management, fiscal management, and learning climate management; e-fluency based on awareness, self-efficacy, leadership, and affective domains; organizational culture in terms of managing change, achieving goals, coordinating teamwork, building a strong culture, and commitment to service; and research practices in the areas of infrastructure, capability, funding opportunities, collaborative practices, and interest and engagement. The study further investigated the correlation between research practices and the identified independent variables and identified which variables best predicted research practices. Findings revealed that school heads demonstrated high levels of managerial capability, e-fluency, and organizational culture, with awareness in e-fluency needing further enhancement. Research practices were rated practiced, but areas such as infrastructure, funding opportunities, and capability require additional support to further enhance research participation. Correlation analysis found significant relationships between research practices and managerial capability, e-fluency, and organizational culture, with building a strong culture, organizational culture, and e-fluency as the strongest correlates. Regression analysis identified five significant predictors of research practices: building a strong culture, achieving goals, selfefficacy, awareness, and school operation management.

This study investigated the influence of the post-pandemic environment on the academic performance in Mathematics of Grades 8 to 10 students at Clarita Bacalso Dacua (CBD) College in Inayawan, Cebu City, during the school year 2023-2024. Recognizing Mathematics as a core subject essential for fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills, the study addresses the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which significantly impacted students' learning experiences and outcomes. The research employed a descriptive-correlational design to assess various factors influencing student performance, including student-related factors such as interest and study habits, and teacher-related factors encompassing teaching skills and instructional materials. Data were collected through a modified standardized survey questionnaire administered to a purposively selected sample of junior high school students. The findings reveal that both student-related factors (interest and study habits) and teacher-related factors (teaching skills and instructional materials) significantly influenced Mathematics performance post-pandemic. Respondents' performance was very satisfactory, and statistical results confirmed a significant relationship between post-pandemic factors and the academic performance of students in Mathematics.

Although the equal sign is considered an important symbol because it represents a fundamental concept in the structure of any algebraic equation, studies have indicated that many students do not possess a sufficient understanding of the three different meanings of this symbol. This study aimed to investigate Grades 6 to 8 basic school students' achievement, and their interpretation of the equal sign, when solving arithmetic tasks. The study adopted a descriptive cross-sectional survey design. A purposive sampling technique was used in selecting a sample of 311 students, comprising 92 sixth, 107 seventh, and 112 eighth graders. Data were collected using an achievement test and a semi-structured interview guide. The achievement test results were analysed and reported using descriptive statistics and a bar graph. The interview data on the other hand were analysed as themes and reported in the form of narratives and excerpts of students' work. The results revealed that students in the study exhibited a dominant understanding of the equal sign as an operation. Also, their achievement depended on the type of task and the operation to be performed. These findings suggest that a broader understanding of the equal sign should be taught to ensure a smoother transition to their learning of algebra-related concepts such as linear equations in the future.

The present study investigated the language shift and language problems that were faced by scheduled tribal communities and Non-tribal communities of Himachal Pradesh within the tribal notified areas of Himachal Pradesh. There are 654 tribal communities live in India out of them 10 belong to Himachal Pradesh and all are marginalized in terms of living conditions due to hard geographical areas, economic, social, cultural, education and political. Due to hard living conditions in the hills they move in winter towards lower areas, that's way they are called as nomads tribal communities but this shifting also leads them towards migration and cultural shifting. The present study was an empirical research investigation based on the 600 senior secondary level students of Scheduled Tribal and non-tribal communities living and studying in tribal notified areas. They were selected by purposive sampling technique. Present study developed a map to show language related problems and its associated factors of tribal and non tribes. Some major issues discussed in the study are as follows-1. Competency of teacher in tribal language. 2. Language related problems in the classroom. 3. Problems in understanding the content taught in Hindi or English. 4. Most use of language by teachers. Along with these issues researcher also focused on Educational problem, Medium of Instruction, Lack of resources, Lack of Tribal teacher, Lack of higher education institution in tribal language. Further this study attempted to focus on solving such language related issues in the tribal areas among the students of all communities and on the basis of interviews conducted researcher tried to develop a tribal language and culture saving approach with the help of education.

This study offers a comprehensive investigation of 14-15-year-old students' comprehension of non-Euclidean geometries, with a specific focus on the assessment of their understanding through a 15-itemed test. The primary objective of this research is to assess the current state of students' knowledge and proficiency in non-Euclidean geometries and to provide insights into the potential inclusion of these concepts in the mathematics curriculum. Drawing inspiration from previous research, this study adapted questions from ministry exam papers to create a rigorous assessment tool. The data collection process involved administering the 15itemed test to a sample of middle school students within the target age group. The test aimed to evaluate their grasp of non-Euclidean geometries, a topic that has traditionally received limited attention in the mathematics curriculum. The results of the test reveal a notable gap in students' understanding of non-Euclidean geometries. A majority of the participants demonstrated limited proficiency in this area, highlighting the need for enhanced educational strategies to address this deficiency. The findings strongly suggest that the incorporation of non-Euclidean geometries into the standard math curriculum is needed. Such inclusion has the potential to broaden students' mathematical horizons, foster critical thinking skills, and stimulate their curiosity in the realm of non-Euclidean geometries. In conclusion, this research underscores the pressing need to rethink the middle school mathematics curriculum for 14-15-year-old students by incorporating non-Euclidean geometries. By doing so, we can better equip students with a more holistic mathematical education and promote the development of essential analytical skills. This study contributes to the broader discourse on mathematics education and suggests a potential pathway for enhancing mathematical learning outcomes among middle school students.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of career readiness seminars in enhancing the internship skills of students. It explores the impact of the series of workshops in developing intern-students' knowledge and skills required for practicum and determining their career readiness level. The research design used in this study is descriptive. The study was conducted at the Philippine College Foundation, School of Business and Management. Floating questionnaires were used to collect data from incoming intern students through Google Forms for this study. Convenience sampling was utilized to select respondents based on their availability and accessibility. The sample size was 110 students, covering male and female business administration students who will undergo internship. The researchers developed a questionnaire consisting of 50 items to collect data. The questionnaire had three dimensions: basic computer skills, communication skills, and work ethic. The findings from the pre-intervention reveal that students have poor competencies and lack the necessary abilities for internships. Thus, a series of seminars were conducted to enhance students' skills. The study found that the intervention strategies further enhanced the competencies of students. The results indicate career readiness through the three dimensions: basic computer skills, communication skills, and work ethic. The study further confirms the usefulness of such kind of training and workshops. Therefore, educational institutions and educators, in general, should promote these kinds of competencies training to ensure the effectiveness of internship programs.

This paper looked into the factors of social learning practices and the parameters of student engagement. The primary purpose of the research is to identify the connections between social learning practices and student engagement, as well as the independent and dependent variables. The study utilized the quantitative descriptive correlational design. The researchers gathered data from one hundred ten students (110) of a local private higher education institution. The data were collected using an approved questionnaire and were analyzed using the Descriptive Analysis and Pearson's Correlational Coefficient (r) statistical tool. The study's findings showed that the institution manifested its learning practices in terms of social learning practices. The result implied powerfully demonstrated learning practices, meaning it has an outstanding strategy and structure contributing to student involvement and internal practices. The study also revealed that the drivers of student engagement highly engaged the respondents. The result suggested that higher student engagement may boost students' dedication and involvement, which fosters a collaborative learning environment for students' success and institutional sustainability. The correlational analysis showed a strong positive relationship between social learning practices and student engagement. The study further suggested that a positive learning environment and practices will increase student engagement. Researchers recommend further research in the academic area for future researchers.

The aim of the present paper is to exemplify, analyse and prove the utility of various strategies of differentiated instruction used within Mathematics and English Language Teaching Methodology seminars, as instruments in the teaching process of the two subjects. The focus of this research is on the didactic game, as an extremely resourceful means of successfully implementing differentiated instruction when preparing future teachers, thus helping them understand, by a double motivated approach, the usefulness of such a strategy in classroom teaching. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship among Educational services, Teacher quality and Student Academic performance in Dutsinma metropolis of Katsina state. Two research hypotheses were formulated and tested in order to guide the study and the design used was correlational in nature. Three research instruments used for the data collection were an adapted version of the Availability of Educational Services Questionnaire (for the teachers), Teachers Quality Assessment Questionnaire (for the principals) and Students Academic Performance Proforma, developed by Arinde, (2010.) The lack of opportunities for students to practice and master their lessons may result in poor performance in advancing mathematics. This technical action research involved high school STEM students in developing TrigOno, a non-digital card game with popular shedding-type gameplay, to address a problem concerning poor student mastery of trigonometric identities. The intervention applied cooperative learning groups based on team-game-tournament structures with dyadic partnerships between developing and more developed learners. The activities included demonstrations, practice drills, and tournament games, covering only two weeks of implementation outside of the designated class time. Generally, results from pre- and post-tests found a significant increase in student mastery of the lesson, with a strong implication in the mathematics classroom. However, the study did not find evidence to close the gap between developing and more developed learners. Nevertheless, qualitative evidence from student reflections and narratives revealed that the learners benefited from the non-digital game-based learning intervention. Further, the findings suggested that the students not only achieved desirable mastery levels but also gained confidence in their abilities and awareness of using strategies. Insights and recommendations were provided to offer support to fellow mathematics teachers who wish to apply the designed game in their educational settings.

The study mainly investigated improving instructional leadership skills of school principal in Gutu Abba Liban secondary school, Yabello town. The aim of this study is to come up with some important improvement on the instructional leadership skills of school principal in the study area. The discussion and finding is concentrated on the factors that affect the leadership skills of school principals; ways to improve leadership skills; and roles of improved instructional leadership skills to school principals. The research is finalized by conclusion and recommendations which states that leadership skill of principals on study area is affected by cumulative aspects of various issues such as lack of training, commitment, teamwork spirit and cooperation. Hence, the challenges can be solved by awareness creation to those stakeholders.

Purpose of the study: This study investigates the influence of a growth mindset on Filipino students' mathematics performance as assessed in the PISA 2022 survey. The research aims to identify distinct latent class profiles based on growth mindset indicators and to explore their relationship with mathematics achievement. Methodology: Data from 6,791 Filipino students who participated in PISA 2022 were analyzed. Latent Class Analysis (LCA) was employed to classify students into distinct mindset profiles, while Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) assessed differences in mathematics performance across these groups. Tukey's post hoc analysis was used to examine pairwise differences further. Main Findings: Based on the data, three distinct latent classes were identified among Filipino learners: Limitation Acceptors (50%), Optimistic Learners (17%), and Mindset Explorers (33%). Optimistic Learners, who exhibited a strong growth mindset and disagreed with statements endorsing fixed intelligence, achieved the highest average scores in mathematics. ANOVA results confirmed significant differences in mathematics performance among these three groups. Tukey's post hoc analysis further revealed that Optimistic Learners significantly outperformed Limitation Acceptors and Mindset Explorers, while no significant performance difference was found between Limitation Acceptors and Mindset Explorers. Novelty/Originality of this study: These findings highlight the critical role of a growth mindset in shaping academic achievement and suggest that fostering growth-oriented beliefs could enhance mathematics performance. This study provides actionable insights for educators and policymakers, emphasizing the need for targeted interventions to cultivate positive beliefs about intelligence among students.

Background: Group size during clinical training has been identified as a potential factor influencing medical students' competence and professional development. In the context of Ugandan medical schools, where student-to-instructor ratios can vary, understanding the impact of group size on students' learning experiences is critical for optimizing clinical education. Objective: This study aims to assess the effect of group size on the clinical competence and professional development of medical students in their fourth and fifth years of training a Busitema at a Ugandan university. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 114 fourth-and fifth-year medical students undergoing clinical training. Data were collected using structured questionnaires that evaluated students' perceptions of their clinical competence and professional development. The questionnaires assessed key competencies such as diagnostic skills, patient communication, procedural abilities, and teamwork, as well as professional development indicators like confidence, ethics, and adaptability in clinical settings. Group size was measured by the number of students per clinical instructor, and participants were divided into smaller (<10 students) and larger (≥10 students) group categories for analysis. Results: Preliminary findings suggest that smaller group sizes were associated with better studentperceived competence in areas such as hands-on procedural skills and patient communication. Students in smaller groups reported greater access to personalized feedback from instructors and more opportunities to actively participate in patient care. In contrast, those in larger groups indicated challenges with individualized attention, leading to reduced opportunities for skill acquisition and professional development. Furthermore, students in smaller groups reported higher levels of confidence and preparedness for clinical practice compared to their peers in larger groups. Conclusion: Group size plays a significant role in shaping the clinical competence and professional development of medical students. Smaller group sizes of less than ten appear to facilitate more effective learning and skill development, particularly in the areas of clinical competence and professional confidence. These findings suggest that reducing group sizes in clinical training could improve educational outcomes for medical students in Uganda.

BackgroundThe benefits of physical activity (PA) on children’s health and wellbeing are well established. However, the benefits of PA on academic performance and particularly on mathematics performance warrant systematic analysis. Mathematics is one of the core subjects in school education globally.MethodsWe systematically searched, analysed and synthesized the literature on the effects of school-based PA interventions on mathematics performance in children aged 4–16. A total of 29 studies consisting of randomised trials and other interventions with control groups were identified through a systematic search, and 11 of them provided sufficient data and appropriate design for a meta-analysis.ResultsOf the 29 studies involving 11,264 participants, positive overall effects of a PA intervention on mathematics performance were found in 13 studies (45%) and neutral overall effects in 15 studies (52%). Interview method was used to gather data for this qualitative research from 20 participants who were chosen by convenience sampling. The individual, parents and society play a role in career decision making. The career choices are based on many factors which includes interest and abilities of the individual, gender, opportunities available, current job scenario and expected financial growth.

This study explores the professional development opportunities, digital resilience initiatives, and media literacy competence of public school teachers. It addresses key research questions regarding the accessibility, quality, and impact of professional development, as well as teachers' awareness of digital risks, implementation of resilience strategies, and institutional support for media literacy education. The findings reveal that while teachers value collaboration in their professional development, barriers such as inadequate resources and scheduling issues hinder their participation. Despite a high awareness of digital risks, gaps remain in discussing these issues with students and addressing cyberbullying. The analysis indicates significant positive relationships between teachers' media literacy competence and both professional development opportunities (correlation coefficient 0.801) and digital resilience initiatives (correlation coefficient 0.748). Regression analysis further highlights that awareness, implementation, and institutional support are critical predictors of media literacy competence, explaining approximately 80.5% of the variance. The study concludes that enhancing collaborative training, improving logistical support for professional development, and investing in digital resilience initiatives are essential for equipping teachers with the skills needed to navigate the digital landscape effectively. Additionally, fostering parental engagement in media literacy discussions can strengthen the overall educational framework. By addressing these recommendations, schools can significantly improve teachers' capabilities and better prepare them to guide students through the challenges of an increasingly digital world.

This study assesses the reliability and validity of the Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI), an American survey instrument, in an Australian context. The results of this study were compared with those generated by a comparison study held at a different Australian university and also against other internationally published research. There was a high degree of similarity between the LASSI scores from the students at the two Australian universities, however these scores were considerably different from norms published in the LASSI manual. The students' scores in this study were also compared with data on their gender and age and the analysis demonstrated significant differences in both instances. A comparison of the results from this research against its earlier companion study suggests a degree of test-retest reliability for the LASSI instrument in the Australian undergraduate context in which the studies were conducted. However, a principal component analysis of the data in this study raises questions about the validity of the LASSI as a measure of students' study skills and learning strategies.

Performance in understanding mathematical problems has a substantially positive connection to English language proficiency though this does not directly affect the numerical skills (Adamu, 2019). But, at the same time, Rambely, et al (2013) found that when students at the tertiary level have a robust command of English, they definitely exhibit a superior comprehension and performance in Mathematics. Pursuant to the above assumption, this study is an attempt to understand mathematical performance through the lens of language proficiency in English in the case of Engineering Students. The researchers working experience in such colleges has initiated this study. This paper seeks to answer the questions as to what are the language related problems that both students and teachers face and how they try to overcome these challenges. For this, a Descriptive Research was used as it allowed for the collection of both quantitative and qualitative data. Questionnaire and Interview were used to collect the relevant data. The findings from both the tools were then analysed and interpreted in light of supporting literature review wherever necessary. The research proved that there was a significant impact (though not 100%) of language proficiency on students' understanding of mathematical concepts when they had a better command of the language. But, at the same time, it also indicated that there were a few students who could excel in Maths, irrespective of their average knowledge of English. However, English language proficiency is an asset to the students of the 21 st century so as to meet the global competencies of both, Maths and English.

The present study aims to examine the relationship between cognitive factors and mathematical achievement in primary education. Participants were 103 Portuguese third grade students, aged 8 and 9. All participants completed a battery for working memory (WMTB-C), a test of general intelligence (Raven's Progressive Color Matrices), a selective attention test (d2), and mathematical exercises (arithmetic story problems and measurement skills). Data suggested significant correlations between math performance, executive, visuospatial sketchpad and g factor. Our findings suggest the importance of the cognitive factors in two mathematical domains considered. In consonance with the research in this area, we conclude that working memory (WM) assumes an important role in different math curricular achievements.
