Community Based Tourism

COVID-19 pandemic has had huge impacts on multiple industries and sectors, not just ecotourism and wildlife protection in Morocco. Ecological health and wildlife are a critical resource for the country’s tourism sector recovery. Conservation is considered as one of the industries that are hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of the threats facing biodiversity and protected areas have been exacerbated during and following, the outbreak with practices such as poaching, wildlife trafficking, and forest logging activities resumed due to the country lockdown and ecotourism collapse. Conservationists should take emergency actions in the short-term to help rural communities and grassroots organizations and review waysto achieve conservation and sustainability goals in the post-pandemic era.

Esta dissertação objetiva problematizar as noções de “público”, “privado” e “estatal”, em
meio à temática das parcerias na gestão de unidades de conservação (UCs). Os programas
Adote um Parque e de Parcerias e Investimentos (PPI), incentivados pelo governo federal,
durante a gestão de Jair Bolsonaro (2019-2022), são ponto de partida desta análise. Esta
pesquisa recorreu à documentos de diversas naturezas: decretos, portarias e resoluções,
editais, atas e despachos, relatórios, notas de posicionamento, cartas abertas, notícias e
vídeos. Além destes documentos, também foram elaborados questionários e conduzidas
entrevistas, ambos online, junto a analistas ambientais, atores do terceiro setor e
pesquisadores dedicados às parcerias na área ambiental. A partir destes materiais, são
analisados os programas em questão, o quanto eles têm sido participativos e transparentes,
em que medida os interlocutores consideram as parcerias relevantes na gestão de UCs, e
para quem se destinam as unidades de conservação. Entende-se que as UCs devem ser
destinadas à “população”, à “sociedade”, ao “povo brasileiro” e à “humanidade”. Apesar
disso, é preciso reconhecer que elas ainda são percebidas como sendo “do Estado” e “dos
gestores”. O estabelecimento de parcerias foi apontado como altamente relevante para
praticamente todos os interlocutores, sendo entendido como uma forma de aproximar a
sociedade das unidades de conservação. No entanto, o incentivo a parcerias com entidades
privadas com fins lucrativos gera discordâncias entre os interlocutores deste estudo.
Diante disso, foi elaborada uma análise das concepções sobre parcerias, que se relacionam
com as proposições de Buscher e Fletcher (2020) sobre o conservacionismo mainstream
e a conservação convivial. Os eixos de análise propostos não têm limites fixos, e sim
porosos, de forma que nenhum interlocutor está irrevogavelmente preso a uma única
posição.

This study aims to find out how green tourism positively impacts the
local community in Tra Vinh province of Vietnam. The paper uses the questionnaire method to survey the awareness of the local community in Tra Vinh province about the benefits of green tourism, along with statistical and analytical methods to clearly identify the level of impact on tourism. The green calendar brings the community together here.
The results show that from a resource and cultural advantages perspective, green tourism has positively impacted the community's environment, socio-culture and economy, but most notably the overall awareness of local green tourism. This study shows that the local community values the environmental, cultural and heritage conservation more than the economic benefits reaped, in promoting and maintaining green tourism activities in the local areas.

ABSTRACT-Organization Development (OD) is a process of bringing reforms in the organization. Organization development is a planned change for getting individuals, teams and organizations to function better. It is the process of re-evaluating existing beliefs, values and its structure to accommodate the new ideas, beliefs and new technologies for progress. Success of any organization depends upon planning, organizing, directing, controlling and coordinating the entire system. Organization development is a study of successful organizational changes and improvements to reach towards the desired goal. After studying

Enhancing the value of agricultural products is a pressing requirement for Vietnam’s agriculture in the context of market integration and increasing consumer demand for quality and sustainability. High-tech applications, including smart farming practices, modern production management, and advanced post-harvest technologies, are seen as key drivers to improve product competitiveness and value-added outcomes.

This study examines the current situation of agricultural production units in Lam Dong province and other selected areas, with a focus on their adoption of high-tech applications. Data collection combined field observations, enterprise reports, and interviews with managers. The research employs descriptive statistics, comparative analysis, and SWOT matrix to assess strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges in applying high-tech agriculture.

The findings reveal that while high-tech solutions have significantly improved productivity, product quality, and branding, small-scale producers still face barriers in terms of capital, technical expertise, and market access. The study proposes solutions such as strengthening linkages in value chains, promoting cooperative models, supporting access to credit and training, and investing in processing and traceability technologies. These measures aim to increase the value of agricultural products, foster sustainable development, and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnam’s agriculture in both domestic and international markets.

Desa Batulayang in Bogor Regency has developed as a community-based tourist village by optimizing natural, cultural, and agro-tourism potential to improve the welfare of the community. Various attractions, such as Curug Kembar, forest tourism, and traditional arts, continue to be developed through active community participation. The commitment to sustainable tourism is reflected in the certification of tourist villages as well as the development of ecotourism and agritourism, which increasingly attract the interest of tourists. This research aims to analyze the impact of community-based tourist village development on the quality of life of the community and its effect on their wellbeing. The measurement is based on the perceptions of the village community, with data analysis using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method based on Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Hypothesis testing was conducted through factor analysis with a loading factor threshold >0.7. The research results indicate that the development of CBT based on economic, cultural, and environmental factors has a significant impact on the quality of life of the community, which ultimately leads to an improvement in their wellbeing.

Ülke kalkınmasının planlı bir şekilde yürütülmesini amaçlayan kalkınma planları bütüncül bir anlayışla sektörel önceliklerin ve hedeflerin belirlenmesini sağlayan önemli strateji belgeleridir. Cumhurbaşkanlığı Hükümet Sisteminin ilk kalkınma planı olan ve 2019-2023 yıllarını kapsayan On Birinci Kalkınma Planı, 15 yıllık bir perspektifin ilk beş yıllık dilimi olarak tasarlanmış; her alanda rekabetçiliği ve verimlilik artışını sağlamaya odaklanmıştır. Bu çalışmada ikincil veri kaynakları (kalkınma planları, bilimsel makaleler, raporlar vb.) taranarak On Birinci Kalkınma Planı'nın amaç, hedef, ilke ve politikaları turizm başlığında analiz edilmiştir. On Birinci Kalkınma Planı'nda öncelikli sektörlere ilaveten öncelikli gelişme alanları arasında yer alan turizm sektörüyle ilgili belirlenen temel hedef, turizm hizmetlerinde çeşitlilik ve niteliği arttırarak turizmin ekonomik ve sosyal katkısını arttırmaktır. On Birinci Kalkınma Planı'nda turizm stratejisinin temel unsurları turizmin çeşitlendirilmesi, sezon ve konaklama sürelerinin uzatılması, pazarın çeşitlendirilmesi ve genişletilmesi ile destinasyon odaklı sektörel değişimin sağlanması olarak sıralanmaktadır. Ayrıca mevzuat düzenlemeleriyle beklentilere uygun bir yasal zeminin oluşturulması, yatırımların desteklenmesi, sektörel maliyetlerin azaltılması ve teşvik uygulamalarının yaygınlaştırılması da hedefler arasındadır. On Birinci Kalkınma Planı'nın turizm stratejisi ve hedefleri sektörün geleceğine yön verici nitelikte olmakla birlikte, plan döneminde hedeflere ulaşılabilmesi için bütüncül bir anlayışla politika önceliklerinin doğru belirlenmesi ve uygulamada sektördeki tüm paydaşların sürece etkin katılımının ve eşgüdümün sağlanması gerekmektedir. Turizm sektöründeki gelişmelerin iç ve dış politik gelişmelerle doğrudan ilgili olduğu da dikkate alındığında, sektörün geleceğinin birbiriyle ilişkili birçok değişkene bağlı olduğu söylenebilir. Cumhurbaşkanlığı Hükümet Sisteminin politika önceliklerini daha doğru anlayabilmek için yeni sistemin kodlarıyla birden fazla kalkınma planının hazırlanması ve uygulanması gerekir. Yeni sistemle uyumun sağlanması açısından gerekli mevzuat düzenlemelerinin yapılmasıyla turizm hedefleri daha net şekilde anlaşılmış olacaktır. Son olarak, 2020 yılında ortaya çıkan ve dünyanın tamamını etkileyen COVİD-19 salgını sonrasında ortaya çıkan tablo turizm hedeflerinde ciddi sapmalara neden olmuştur. Bu bağlamda On Birinci Kalkınma Planı'nın turizm sektörü hedef ve beklentilerinin de gözden geçirilmesi gerekmektedir.

This study concerns tourism initiatives by foreign organizations and their contributions to the emergence of responsible tourism in Cuba. Using the framework of Community Benefit Tourism Initiatives, this study investigates the local actors' and the foreign organizations' perspective on responsible tourism, the processes of planning and developing tourism initiatives, their implementation and the effects on the local communities. The empirical part concerns a case study about an initiative originated from a cultural development project by an Italian D-NGO and developed through the collaboration with an Italian tour operator. The findings suggest that, even in the case where such initiatives aren't strategically planned and start with a limited participation of local actors, they can lead to important benefits for the local communities. The findings also suggest that these types of initiatives can constitute a solid basis for future developments with an increasing active participation by the local actors.

Estos ejes permiten una mirada integral a los procesos de cambio que atraviesan las sociedades contemporáneas, reafirmando el compromiso institucional con el desarrollo sostenible, la inclusión, la tecnología y el conocimiento al servicio de la sociedad. Las memorias del congreso recogen los aportes presentados, que contribuyen al fortalecimiento académico y a la construcción de redes científicas orientadas al futuro.

Sustainable tourism has emerged as a critical aspect of contemporary life, driven by the exponential growth of the tourism industry globally. Despite its positive contribution to GDP and job creation, tourism also raises concerns about its environmental and social sustainability. The concept of sustainable tourism gained momentum in the 1990s, shifting the focus from mass tourism to sustainable development within the industry. However, challenges persist, in response to which governments and international organizations emphasized on sustainable tourism initiatives, aiming to balance economic development with environmental preservation. This paper presents a comprehensive review of research in the field of sustainable tourism development, employing both bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review (SLR) methodologies. The study identifies influential authors, institutions, and research themes by analysing publication trends, citation patterns, and collaboration networks. By synthesizing diverse literature from various fields, the SLR offers interdisciplinary perspectives and a holistic understanding of sustainability issues in tourism. Through cross-validation with the bibliometric analysis, the study aims to provide nuanced insights into both the quantitative and qualitative aspects of scholarly contributions in sustainable tourism research. Comprehensively, the paper contributes to a deeper understanding of sustainable tourism development, offering valuable insights for academia, industry, and policy. It aims to inform future research agendas, policy formulation, and industry practices in support of sustainable tourism initiatives by identifying research gaps, emerging trends, and best practices.

This study aims to analyze the community-based sustainable tourism development in Sukarara Tourism Village, Central Lombok Regency. In the context of the NTB regional government's initiative to promote 99 tourism villages, this research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach to explore the role of the community in preserving local culture, enhancing the economy, and protecting the environment. The results of this study show that the collaboration between the community and the government in Sukarara Tourism Village has created sustainable and inclusive tourism, positively impacting both the community and the environment. The village government emphasizes the importance of preserving the ikat weaving tradition and effective environmental management, despite facing challenges related to infrastructure and human resource skills. Community involvement through Pokdarwis groups is crucial in planning and implementing tourism activities. Innovations in local product development, such as handicrafts and traditional foods, are optimized through effective training and promotion. The community also provides tourism services, including homestays and local guides, to enhance visitor experiences. Community involvement in decision-making through village meetings ensures that tourism policies reflect local needs. Environmental preservation is carried out through cleanup programs and education for tourists, while infrastructure development is improved with community participation. With a collaborative approach, Sukarara Tourism Village can become a successful example of sustainable tourism that benefits future generations.

Kopi Daong as part of the tourism industry must implement a business development strategy to increase its revenue by taking advantage of the post-covid situation. This study aims to identify Kopi Daong's business model, identify factors that become strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to its business, and determine strategies that can be implemented as business development strategies. Data analysis uses a business model canvas, an analysis of the company's internal and external environment, and a 4-step blue ocean strategy framework. The results of the study provide an overview for companies to develop Daong Coffee into a complete tourist destination that has coffee shops and recreational facilities through several efforts such as optimizing owned land, conducting investment collaborations, optimizing the use of social media, and building partnerships with the government and business actors, including MSMEs.

This study aims to understand in-depth and comprehensively how the Nglinggo Tourism Village community understands tourism development in its place. This study has used a qualitative approach with a case study design. The data collection techniques used were direct observation of the location of the locus that the researcher wanted to examine, observing events, incidents, poses, and conditions along with a list that needed to be observed in Nglinggo Pager Harjo Tourism Village, as well as conducting interviews with key informants who were involved and experienced all activities relating to the Tourism Village in Nglinggo Pager Harjo. The study concluded that people have begun to understand tourism as an industry that significantly influences improving people's welfare regarding human resources, community potential, and physical development. Community understanding of tourism development can be assessed and understood by the local community. In addition, it can also be concluded that tourism has not negatively influenced the norms, laws, and customs of the local community.

The economic development of society in Indonesia provides a positive signal with the emergence of entrepreneurs and the tourism sector which has the potential to provide distribution to the economy, thereby increasing tourist visits. This research aims to describe the impact of developing and managing agricultural and buffalo swamp educational tourism areas. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the agricultural and swamp buffalo educational tourist attraction is that development and management of Weitkawa tourism have experienced a lot of progress starting from its rides, facilities, and services. Wietkawa Tourism is a new tourist attraction managed directly by the Tourism Awareness Group. In terms of tourist locations, Weitkawa is quite strategic and easy to reach compared to other tourist attractions in Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency. The price of tourist entry tickets is relatively expensive for local people but relatively cheap for tourists from the city. The impact of Weitkawa tourism can improve the community's economy, such as opening up job opportunities and reducing unemployment, developing business opportunities for residents, and improving community welfare.

According to the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 10 of 2009 concerning Tourism, tourism is defined as a variety of tourist activities supported by various facilities and services provided by the community, entrepreneurs, and local governments. This study aims to determine the public perception of the Ulin Nature Terrace tourist attraction in North Sempaja Village, North Samarinda District. The data required are primary data and secondary data according to the research objectives. Based on the results of the study, it is known that people's perceptions of tourist attractions use sapta charm indicators, namely security, order, cleanliness, coolness, beauty, friendliness, and memories. The highest indicator is beauty (1,273) and the lowest is hospitality (1,192). Overall, people's perceptions are classified as good because the value of 8,519 is in the interval range 7,140-8,819, meaning that the community views the existence of these attractions as positive and beneficial, because these attractions not only offer tourist attractions in the form of fish therapy, but other interesting panoramas.

Tourism activities are community activities to provide pleasure and can be carried out by various groups of people, including Generation Z who will later become leaders and policy makers. Their birth period who are used to the digital world makes social media the main tool to carry out tourism activities, especially sharing their travel moments. This study aims to identify the behavior of Generation Z in sharing travel moments using EFA and CFA and then analyze the relationship between factors and social media with motivation formed using T-test analysis and One Way ANOVA. As a result, the factor of gaining recognition and sharing information is the reason why Generation Z shares their travel moments. Both Gen Z men and women are seeking recognition through social media responses that increase their popularity, social relationships, and existence. When it comes to sharing information, men focus more on the beauty and uniqueness of the destination, while women highlight the fun aspect of the tourist location. WhatsApp users are more personal and introverted, while TikTok users love creative videos to interact with similar communities. Instagram is used to share aesthetic content, while Facebook highlights the user's presence in the digital world. This research has benefits for entrepreneurs and the government in designing tourism strategies through the use of technology, in this case developing activities on social media in line with the needs of tourism actors so that it can increase the loyalty and interest of consumers and especially generation Z.

The current study delves into the impacts of community managed nature tourism (CMNT) on the individual wellbeing of service providers engaged with it. This study draws mainly from social exchange theory and was carried out in the developing state of Odisha, India. The empirical data were gathered using a questionnaire survey method from the service providers of eight nature camps in Odisha. A total of 141 responses were used for statistical analysis. To analyse the data, exploratory factor analysis along with regression analysis were used. The findings of the study reveal that CMNT has a positive and significant affect on the overall individual wellbeing (financial wellbeing, purpose of life and subjective wellbeing, and community attachment and satisfaction) of the service providers engaged with it in the context of study area. In a developing country like India and state like Odisha, to alleviate the extreme levels of poverty especially in remote areas, CMNT can evolve as an effective tool in the long run. Also, the current study offers useful insights to policymakers, administrators, and government about the effectiveness of CMNT in improving the wellbeing of the local people.

Ecotourism and the conservation of protected areas are closely intertwined as a strategy that seeks to combine environmental preservation with socioeconomic development. Recognized in public policies and international agreements, ecotourism is defined as a form of tourism focused on the sustainable use of natural and cultural heritage, promoting environmental education and community involvement. Conservation, in turn, ensures the protection of ecosystems and is essential to the practice of ecotourism by establishing rules for use, monitoring, and protected zones. The reflection proposed in this dissertation began during undergraduate studies in Geography, through activities that linked geographical foundations with local tourism practices. Within this context, tourism is understood as a transformative activity of space and must be analyzed through the lenses of Human and Physical Geography, with particular emphasis on the concept of landscape as a link between natural and cultural elements. Drawing on the thinking of Milton Santos, territory is seen as the result of social and spatial dynamics, which contributes to a critical analysis of tourism planning. Based on this framework, the research proposes the use of geotechnologies to identify areas with ecotourism potential. The study focuses on the district of Santo Aleixo, located in the municipality of Magé (Rio de Janeiro), a destination known for its trails and waterfalls, yet still lacking the necessary infrastructure for the proper development of ecotourism. This work aims to analyze the tourism context of Santo Aleixo and to present a proposal for the creation of a Digital Ecotourism Guide for the region. The specific objectives include the characterization of natural attractions, the mapping of opportunities and challenges for the practice of ecotourism, and the development of an ecotourism circuit with detailed information on local trails and attractions. The methodological choices were based on an exploratory and qualitative approach, including bibliographic and documentary research, followed by field data collection, involving the mapping of information and engagement with local stakeholders. As a result, a georeferenced database was created using Google My Maps. The mapping and the digital application were developed as integrated tools to facilitate access to information that supports sustainable ecotourism practices. The dissertation also presents recommendations to improve the planning and management of ecotourism in Santo Aleixo, culminating in the proposal of a digital guide aimed at enhancing and organizing tourism activities in the region.

The research has the general objective of understanding the processes of appropriation of information and communication technologies (ICT) in tourism education at UNPA-UARG during the period 2018-2019. The specific objectives include the identification of the required ICT competencies, the evaluation of their incorporation into the curricula, and the determination of the technological training demands of the local market. The research uses an exploratory design with a mixed (qualitative-quantitative) approach. A literature review, a content analysis of the curricula and programs, and surveys of students, teachers, and tourism companies in Río Gallegos were carried out. The results indicate that ICT are partially incorporated into the curricula. The required digital competencies focus on communication, multimedia, and information skills, aligned with international standards. However, local tourism companies demand more applied technical training. The research highlights significant practical implications, such as the need to adjust university curricula to respond to the demands of the tourism sector. The study provides a contextualization of ICT competencies in a specific university environment, highlighting their relevance for sustainable and digital tourism in the region.

This study represents a survey data of 466 community-based tourism establishments in the northern provinces of Vietnam such as, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang etc., with strongly developed community-based tourism activities based on the technology acceptance model (TAM). The results show that perceived ease of use of e-commerce has a positive and strong impact compared to perceived effectiveness of e-commerce on the intention to apply e-commerce to marketing communication activities in the supply chain of community-based tourism in Vietnam. In addition, if community-based tourism businesses perceive themselves as being modern, it will positively affect the perception of the ease of use and effectiveness of e-commerce, thereby indirectly bringing about a positive impact on the intention to apply e-commerce. Conversely, if they perceive themselves being traditional, it will negatively affect this relationship. Accordingly, this study helps provide practical evidence for promoting the application of e-commerce in tourism in remote, economically difficult areas in Vietnam and elsewhere. Nonetheless, the study remains limited when it has not been done a multi-group analysis to consider different influences of the factors of region, destination characteristics, type of tourism on intention to apply e-commerce for marketing communication activities in community-based tourism establishments.

The Birding Journal is an educational field booklet co-authored and produced by Ikram Quttaineh and published by the Hanns Seidel Foundation through Mahmiyat project. Designed to engage students in birdwatching and environmental observation across Palestine, it features illustrated species guides, interactive recording pages, and practical tips for ethical birding. By promoting outdoor exploration and conservation awareness, the journal fosters nature literacy and empowers youth to connect with their environment and contribute to biodiversity monitoring.
دفتر تسجيل الطيور هو كتيب ميداني تعليمي شاركت في تأليفه و انتاجه إكرام قطينة  ونُشر من قبل مؤسسة هانس زايدل ضمن مشروع محميات فلسطين . يهدف الكتيب إلى إشراك الطلاب في مراقبة الطيور والملاحظة البيئية في مختلف أنحاء فلسطين، ويحتوي على أدلة مصورة لأنواع الطيور المحلية، وصفحات تسجيل تفاعلية، ونصائح عملية لممارسة مراقبة الطيور بشكل أخلاقي. من خلال تشجيع الاستكشاف في الهواء الطلق وتعزيز الوعي البيئي، يسهم الكتيب في تنمية الثقافة البيئية لدى الشباب ويمنحهم فرصة للتواصل مع الطبيعة والمشاركة في رصد التنوع الحيوي

Since the world community entered the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, the communication medium that has been widely used by the government is social media. Since then social media has spawned many changes in many sectors of life. Social media has reversed many of the thoughts and concepts that previously believed by the world community. The same phenomenon also occurs in Indonesia, where social media is used as a means of communication by the majority of people at all social levels. This research was conducted qualitatively, which is expected to produce descriptive data in spoken and written form, as well as the observed behavior of the research object. The data in this study were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation and document collection. The informants in this research were determined purposively. Furthermore, the collected data were analyzed by using interactive models and credibility testing and triagulation techniques. This research will be carried out at the Badan Pelaksana Otorita Danau Toba which is located in Medan, North Sumatra. The mandatory output to be achieved by this research is publication in scientific proceedings accredited by Scopus. While the additional output to be obtained is the publication of textbooks and copyright certificates.

It is the first ecotourism guidebook for Palestine. The guidebook introduces 32 ecotourism trails aimed at developing sustainable tourism in Palestine, especially in rural and protected areas. It connects natural, cultural, and social heritage with local communities to foster pride, resilience and nature conservation.
Ikram Quttaineh was the producer and mastermind behind this comprehensive guidebook, overseeing its entire process from initial design to final production. She played a key role in producing the detailed maps, supervised the selection of photos, assisted in reviewing the text, and served as the focal point coordinating between the various organizations and individuals involved. This guidebook is the result of years of dedicated project management by Ikram, accompanied by massive community campaigns including birdwatching events, habitat cleaning initiatives, educational field visits focused on flora and fauna, and native tree planting activities—engaging more than 4,000 participants across Palestine.

Developed within "Mahmiyat.ps protected areas " project with funding from the Hanns Seidel Foundation, in collaboration with the Palestinian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Environmental Quality Authority, the guide supports an interactive educational platform. It features clear maps, descriptive texts, and images so visitors can explore trails virtually before visiting.
First published in 2019 with a second edition in 2021, the guidebook is available in Arabic and continues to serve as a key resource for ecotourism and community engagement in Palestine.

كانت إكرام قطينة هي المنتجة والعقل المدبر وراء هذا الدليل الشامل، حيث أشرفت على كامل العملية من التصميم الأولي حتى الإنتاج النهائي. لعبت دورًا رئيسيًا في إعداد الخرائط التفصيلية، وأشرفت على اختيار الصور، وساعدت في مراجعة النص، وكانت نقطة الارتباط والتنسيق بين المؤسسات والأفراد المشاركين في المشروع. هذا الدليل هو نتاج سنوات من الإدارة الميدانية المكرسة للمشروع من قبل إكرام، مصحوبًا بحملات مجتمعية واسعة تشمل فعاليات مراقبة الطيور، مبادرات تنظيف المواطن الطبيعية، زيارات ميدانية تعليمية تركز على النباتات والحيوانات، وأنشطة زرع الأشجار المحلية — شارك فيها أكثر من 4000 مشارك في أنحاء فلسطين.

Este artigo propõe a criação do neologismo valeverdicidade como conceito etimológico inspirado no distrito baiano de Vale Verde, cuja dinâmica territorial escapa à dicotomia tradicional entre rural e urbano. A partir da análise realizada por Silva e Ribeiro (2020), é possível identificar que o Vale Verde expressa uma forma emergente de sociabilidade e produção que mescla atividades agrícolas, não agrícolas, culturais e religiosas, inserindo-se em um fluxo contemporâneo de transformação dos espaços rurais. A valeverdicidade, então, se apresenta como um termo que procura nomear essa zona híbrida, de interseção viva entre campo e cidade, tradição e inovação, natureza e cultura.

In this study, an attempt was made to examine the relationships between community managed nature tourism and community empowerment from the local residents’ perspective, as well as to test how these relationships varied among different demographic characteristics of residents. For this study, five hypotheses were proposed based on the review of literature and tested using residents living near the protected nature camps in Odisha. A cross-sectional survey was carried out on 184 local residents selected from across the eight nature camps of Odisha. The variables examined in this study included residents' gender, age, education, occupation, and income. Data analysis was done using the independent sample t-test, and one way ANOVA. The study findings revealed that the perception of local residents was positive regarding the impact of CMNT projects on community empowerment in Odisha. Furthermore, total community empowerment scores were found to significantly differ across gender, age, and income, and insignificantly across education and occupation. The findings underscored the importance of CMNT projects in community empowerment as well as can help tourism planners in making strategic and operation decision for community managed tourism development in Odisha.

proposes an intervention strategy for developing Tourism Villages in Cikole Hamlet, Neglasari Village, Garut Regency, to generate opportunities for people in rural areas to earn a sustainable income as a complement to their current earnings, contribute to equitable territorial development, and shape the environment. Neglasari Village is located in South Garut, designated as a tourism development areaencouraging the tourism industry's rural development. This village has several hamlets, one of which is the Cikole Hamlet, with the main attraction being tea, coffee, ginger, onion, and other plantations. However, the Cikole Hamlet community does not carry out the existing traditions. However, the potential of local culture can still be used as a supporting attraction and a preservation effort. For the sake of the sustainability of the existence of Neglasari Village as a tourist village, it is necessary to identify, assess and prioritize village tourism assets by using a Tourism Village Feasibility Assessment with the IRTD (Integrated Rural Tourism Development) Assessment Method to create sustainable development opportunities, in Cikole Hamlet,

Purpose — This study aimed to analyze the institutional entrepreneurship strategies to optimize community-based tourism practices in Sidomulyo Tourism Village.Method — This qualitative descriptive research focuses on the Tourism Awareness Group as the management institution of Sidomulyo Tourism Village. The data collection techniques are observation in Sidomulyo Tourism Village, in-depth interviews with the managers of the Tourism Awareness Group, and documentation. All discovered data is analyzed using Discursive Institutionalism.Result — We distinguished institutional entrepreneurship strategies into two dimensions: ideas and discourses. The purpose of the study is to examine the tourism employment and its seasonality in the islandThasos, where seasonal tourism employment is common. Tourism demand during the off-peak season and related unemployment rates and number of workers employed are examined for the island of Thasos, where a majority of tourism demand occurs between May and October. The months between November and April are considered the off-peak season when unemployment rates are increased and the number of generated jobs are decreased. The objectives of the study are to look into exploring this situation and proposing solutions how to extend the caretaker tourist season more time, even within the winter months with alternative tourism, cultural tourism, historical tourism and so on. Another objective of the study is to evaluate how the locals respond to the results of the previous years by adopting policies basedthese relults.

This investigation assesses tourism attractiveness across four designated coastal destinations within Southern Sri Lanka, Unawatuna, Weligama, Tangalle, and Yala, employing comparative analytical methodologies grounded in physical and spatial determinant frameworks. The research utilises the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) methodology to evaluate six principal variables: accommodation and catering infrastructure, destination activity provisions, natural environmental features, destination aesthetic characteristics, environmental conservation practices, and destination marketing initiatives. Data acquisition encompassed direct field observation protocols, planning documentation analysis, and visual documentation evidence, subsequently converted into quantitative assessments through standardised nine-point ordinal scaling systems. Analytical outcomes demonstrate Weligama's superior overall performance, particularly within accommodation infrastructure and natural feature categories, whereas Yala, constrained by environmental regulatory frameworks, achieved minimal performance in accessibility and destination marketing parameters while demonstrating optimal conservation practice implementation. The findings substantiate that physical planning interventions and infrastructure development significantly influence tourism potential parameters, emphasising the critical importance of integrated development strategic approaches that reconcile environmental sustainability objectives with economic advancement goals. This study contributes practical insights for regional planning professionals and policy formulation entities seeking to enhance coastal tourism development within emerging economy contexts.

It explores how these psychosocial constructs enhance cultural integrity and economic sustainability, facilitated by both cognitive and affective empathy. The text also analyzes the integration of digital technologies like virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), highlighting their potential and challenges in enriching tourist experiences. Case studies exemplify the practical applications, and policy recommendations are provided to foster sustainable practices. Transformasi ekonomi pedesaan berbasis potensi lokal menjadi strategi penting dalam mendorong pembangunan berkelanjutan. Pariwisata, sebagai sektor strategis, memainkan peran signifikan dalam menggerakkan perekonomian daerah pedesaan, terutama pada wilayah dengan potensi alam, budaya, dan sosial yang khas. Dusun Wotawati, yang terletak di Kelurahan Pucung, Kecamatan Girisubo, Kabupaten Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta, merupakan salah satu wilayah desa wisata rintisan dengan potensi besar. Keunikan lanskap perbukitan, kekayaan tradisi lokal, serta aktivitas masyarakat yang sarat nilai budaya menawarkan peluang pengembangan wisata berbasis komunitas (community-based tourism). Namun demikian, Dusun Wotawati menghadapi sejumlah tantangan, seperti keterbatasan infrastruktur dasar, minimnya keterampilan sumber daya manusia, kurangnya promosi wisata, dan aksesibilitas jalan yang terbatas. Dalam upaya menjawab tantangan tersebut, identifikasi potensi dan hambatan menjadi langkah awal untuk merumuskan strategi pengembangan yang tepat. Hasil kajian awal Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PkM) menggarisbawahi pentingnya peningkatan kapasitas sumber daya manusia, revitalisasi fasilitas dasar seperti dapur dan sanitasi, MCK, serta pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga secara terstandar. Pendekatan ini tidak hanya bertujuan meningkatkan daya tarik wisata, tetapi juga memastikan manfaat ekonomi dan sosial yang berkelanjutan bagi masyarakat setempat.

The field of tour guiding nowadays are highly in demand because tourism industry in the society is now booming. The study was conducted to assess the qualifications of motorcycle drivers in Malaybalay City. It aimed to analyze the extent of qualifications needed by motorcycle drivers in Malaybalay City to perform as tour guides. The study used Quantitative (questionnaire) data to answer the research questions. A total of 30 motorcycle drivers served as sample respondents in a survey questionnaire data resulted were analyzed using descriptive statistical tools e.g. percentages, frequencies distribution and central tendency measurements (mean, median, and mode). The results show that among the 30 motorcycle sample respondents, most of them can convey excellent communication skills, however, they are low in verbal and non-verbal aspect. Relative to customer service-oriented skills, they excel on handling queries, provides prompt service and in rendering professionalism at work, however, they are low on handling complaints and asking for customer feedback. On the aspect of health and safety practices skills, they have maintained and secured the safety of their customers. This study recommends improving the verbal and non-verbal aspect in communication skills. There is also a need to develop in their abilities on handling complaints and asking for customer feedback.

The Rammang-Rammang area in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi, is a tourist destination with significant potential in educational, local cultural, and ecological aspects. This study aims to explore and analyze these values through field trips and focus group discussions (FGDs). The research method used was a qualitative approach with participatory observation techniques, indepth interviews, and focus group discussions. The results indicate that the Rammang-Rammang area has high educational value in learning about geology, ecology, and Bugis-Makassar culture. This area is also rich in local wisdom in natural resource management and environmental conservation. These findings can be used as a basis for the development of sustainable educational ecotourism.

Rammang-Rammang, part of the Maros-Pangkep karst area in South Sulawesi, is the third largest karst area in the world. This study aims to analyze the potential, management, and challenges in developing Rammang-Rammang as a sustainable tourism destination. This study used a descriptive qualitative method based on literature review. The results indicate that natural attractions, community involvement, and regulatory support are the area's main strengths. However, weaknesses remain in the infrastructure and tourism education aspects. Strategies to strengthen tourism interpretation and digital marketing are recommended to support the area's sustainability.

The Rammang-Rammang Karst area in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi, is a natural tourist destination with extraordinary ecotourism potential. A field trip and focus group discussion (FGD) conducted by STIE AMKOP students aimed to explore the area's natural beauty and discuss strategies for sustainable tourism development. The results of this activity demonstrated the importance of synergy between environmental conservation, tourism education, and local community empowerment as the primary foundation for inclusive and competitive tourism development.

The enduring style of the cabin or cottage is that of a sturdy, solid shelter from the elements. Their simplicity seems to prevail in modern constructions and so do their predominant features: exposed-beam ceilings, built-in furnishings, and large, open floor plans. Many of these building designs take after the gable and shed roof traditional construction. Others take a modern twist on the established building typologies. The importance of the roof as a basic architectural feature has served to organize the contents of this book under three categories: Gabled, Hipped, and Pyramid Roofs; Shed and Saltbox Roofs; and Flat and Custom Roofs. Roofs speak to us of shelter. Their basic forms have come down to us unchanged through ages. Their silhouettes are still unmistakable in today's modern home. From the outside, a roof defines the look of a home; from the inside, it gives form to the spaces that it shelters. Today's cottages and cabins are often spacious and comfortable, and they often have more than one floor, with enough room to accommodate visitors. The interior is open and flexible combining various functions. They are also likely to include fully equipped kitchens, whirlpool tubs, saunas, and other luxuries. Large windows and doors blur the distinction between interior and exterior. They face the surrounding landscape, making nature appear as part of the interior and allowing interior activities to spill out onto surrounding terraces.

Penelitian ini memperkenalkan 2BCycle, sebuah kerangka kerja blockchain inovatif yang mengusulkan Proof of Attention Value PoAV sebagai mekanisme konsensus baru untuk mengakui, mengukur, dan memberi insentif pada aksi nyata individu dalam kontribusi lingkungan dan sosial. Berbeda dengan mekanisme konsensus tradisional seperti Proof of Work PoW atau Proof of Stake PoS yang berpusat pada komputasi atau kepemilikan modal, PoAV memvalidasi nilai dari tindakan pro-sosial dan pro-lingkungan, seperti pengelolaan sampah berkelanjutan atau pendidikan komunitas. Kerangka kerja ini mengintegrasikan konsep BlockCycle untuk penilaian proses dan BurnCycle untuk konversi nilai hasil ke dalam ekonomi token terdesentralisasi, didukung oleh smart contract seperti BlockVerifier.sol dan BurnCycleDEX.sol. 2BCycle bertujuan untuk mengatasi ketimpangan akses teknologi, krisis iklim, dan kurangnya penghargaan terhadap kontribusi sosial, dengan menyediakan sistem yang adil dan transparan bagi "penambang nilai" akar rumput. Simulasi awal menunjukkan potensi 2BCycle dalam memberi penghargaan pada aksi mikro dan mendorong perilaku berkelanjutan.
