The present experiment was conducted to study the standardization of drying methods and embedding media for various annual flowers of Asteraceae family viz., Calendula, Coreopsis and Cosmos. Sun drying condition recorded significantly minimum dry weight and maximum weight loss percentage, moisture loss percentage and took minimum days to drying with silica gel as embedding media in sun drying method while, minimum reduction in dried flower diameter was recorded with sand as embedding media in sun drying in Calendula, Coreopsis and Cosmos, respectively. Drying with silica gel embedding in room drying obtained maximum point scale on visual basis of colour, texture and appearance in dried flowers of Calendula, Coreopsis and Cosmos.

Finally, this study highlights post-feminism as exemplified in Disney's Mulan. While the film depicts a progressive story of females being empowered, it also supports certain gender stereotypes and reinforces traditional understandings of femininity. The study contributes to the enduring debate about gender representation in popular media by investigating the relationship between feminist and postfeminist ideologies within the film. It additionally offers a comprehension of post-feminism in the context of Disney princess stories.

William Butler Yeats' poem A Prayer for My Daughter (1921) is the continuation of his apocalyptic poem The Second Coming, as his prayer to protect his daughter by hiding her behind class divisions and hoping that his daughter never wants to seek change from traditions, while William Faulkner's A Rose for Emily (1930) shows the result of extreme superiority complex and isolating protection through the tragic life of Emily, who never got a chance to teach herself thrive through changes and developments of life because of lifelong isolation. This present study observes the lethal consequences of isolation and confining protection that affect the sensitive mind of a person, eventually affecting one's whole life. Considering both the primary sources and the secondary ones, the paper has been an approach of critical content analysis to draw its concluding remarks as per findings through the research.

This research will be a literary analysis of the short story "My Son the Fanatic" with the purpose of providing a Marxist reading. This analysis will reveal the actuality of life, which denies the possibility of understanding it only through Marxist principles, showing the transformation of historical materialism. The use of the materialism historically sediments therefore, reveals a multi-layered meaning that is embedded in this narrative. Thanks to this approach, we can extend the discussion in economics and politics. As a result, this approach reveals the causes of social problems appearing in relation to the conflict between classes, demonstrating how Marxist ideas are Negatively ingrained and the poor are continually exploited by the rich family member cause for power and Benefit but also highlights the pivotal role of ideology in perpetuating this social hierarchy and influencing individual behavior based on class distinctions.

Bu makale, Amerikalı yazar William Faulkner’ın Emily İçin Bir Gül (1930) adlı kısa öyküsüne ve İngiliz oyun yazarı William Shakespeare’in Atinalı Timon (1623) adlı oyununa odaklanarak bu eserlerde tasvir edilen Emily
ve Timon adlı iki mizantrop karakterleri incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Oxford İngilizce Sözlüğü’nde mizantrop kavramı, “insanlıktan hoşlanmayan ve insan toplumundan kaçınan kişi” (2010, s. 1130) olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Kavram, Yunanca nefret anlamına gelen “misein” ve insan anlamına gelen “anthropos” sözcüklerinin birleşiminden oluşur. ‘İnsanlık düşmanı’ olarak ifade edebileceğimiz mizantrop karakterler, William S. Gilbert ve Jonathan Swift gibi çeşitli yazarlarca edebiyatta sıklıkla tasvir edilmiştir. Nepenthes is a carnivorous plant that can cross-pollinate the same or different species so that it can produce hybrid Nepenthes. An analysis of the relationship between Nepenthes species and their hybrids can be carried out by observing the morphological characters. The purpose of this study was to determine the morphological characteristics and the relationship between Nepenthes hybrids and their parents. This study used Nepenthes hybrid resulting from a cross between N. mirabillis and N. reinwardtiana which were found in Entikong District, Sanggau Regency. The relationships were analyzed using the NTSys program with the UPGMA method. Nepenthes reinwardtiana does not have variations in pitcher color or shape. Nepenthes mirabillis and N. mirabillis X N. reinwardtiana had variations in pitcher color and shape. Nepenthes hybrid has a characters inherited from both parents. In this investigation, the gerbera flowers were dried by employing different drying methods such as hot air drying at 40, 50 and 60°C, microwave oven drying with silica gel at 50°C, vacuum drying at 40°C and 760 mm Hg pressure besides solar and shade drying to find out the most suitable method and drying parameters to study the drying behaviour. Maximum drying time of five days was recorded during shade drying while minimum was 25 minutes in case of microwave oven drying. The drying of the flowers under all the treatments completely took place in the falling rate period. The maximum over all drying rate was found to be 3.2164%/min during microwave oven drying with silica gel at 50°C, followed by vacuum drying at 40°C, while minimum overall drying rate of 0.0112%/min was observed during shade drying. Based on the drying characteristics like drying rate and drying time, microwave oven drying with silica gel at 50°C followed by vacuum drying at 40°C was found reasonably good method for quality dried produce of gerbera flowers.

The market demand of dry flowers and ornamentals is increasing day by day and can become lucrative income generating hobby for entrepreneurs in India either by producing or marketing dried flowers and ornamentals.

Sodium silicate was dissolved in water in either a monomer form or polymer form; the effects of both forms of sodium silicate aqueous solution on rose powdery mildew and root rot diseases of miniature rose were examined. Both forms of sodium silicate aqueous solution were applied to the roots of the miniature rose. Potassium silicate aqueous solution was used as a control and was compared to the effect of sodium silicate aqueous solution. The polymer sodium silicate aqueous solution was the most effective treatment against both powdery mildew and root rot diseases. Moreover, no inhibition effects of silicate solutions were observed in vitro on Pythium helicoides, the causal pathogen of rose root rot disease. The silicon contents in the roots of the miniature rose treated with polymer sodium silicate were significantly greater than that in plants treated with monomer sodium silicate. In conclusion, the suppressive effects of sodium silicate in the polymer form were confirmed against powdery mildew and root rot diseases of the miniature rose.

For this reason, methyl silanols-mono-, di-and trimethyl silicic acid-the water-soluble degradation products of silicone polymer, were evaluated for their ability to protect against powdery mildew in wheat grown under peat-based and hydroponic conditions. X-ray microanalysis indicated that only the monomethyl derivative was absorbed and deposited by wheat plants. Inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry measurements of total plant Si content confirmed this observation and indicated that monomethyl silicic acid remained mostly in its soluble monomeric form in planta. Mono-and trimethyl silicic acid offered no protection against powdery mildew and, indeed, yielded higher levels of infection than the control. Unexpectedly, dimethyl silicic acid induced severe symptoms of phytotoxicity early into the experiments at nutrient solution concentrations as low as 0.1 mM. For their part, both mono-and trimethyl silicic acid also caused symptoms of phytotoxicity by the end of the experiments. Our findings would suggest that silanols cannot be considered as substitutes for silicic acid in plants. Moreover, application of silicone-contaminated waste or sewage sludge to agricultural land needs to be evaluated with considerable care.

Future prospects of the dry flower industry are expected to contribute a lot to the country's economy in comparison to the fresh cut flowers and other live plants. Dry flowers and plant materials have tremendous potential as substitute for fresh flowers and foliage for interior decoration as well as for a variety of other aesthetic and commercial uses. In this review the scattered information and data on drying of flowers and other ornamental plant parts are being tried to put together. This could eventually be helpful in drawing the attention of the researchers and scientists to work on it, besides the entrepreneurs would be directly benefitted by utilizing the knowledge review in this paper.

Fresh flowers are appealing and attractive, but maintaining their allure and fresh appearance for an extended period of time is difficult. To overcome this problem, the same flowers can be dried and processed into dry flowers that last indefinitely. Innovative ideas capable of providing solutions to social problems can be turned into money-spinning business opportunities. The dried flowers obtained can be used in various ways to produce significant items and would thus be able to assist with saving the climate from contamination caused due to improper disposal of flower waste. Dry flowers are the key components of the floriculture industry, which are rapidly rising in international trade. The dry flower industry is offering a big opportunity for the national economy in diversified dimensions by creating job opportunities and entrepreneurial development. Dry flowers are modest, extensive, and hold their aesthetic worth regardless of the period. Dried flowers and unused plant materials are offering opportunities for entrepreneurship by using dry flower technology. Practically all flowers, including leaves and other botanicals, can be viably dried with various drying methods. Apart from flower structure and time of collection, the quality of dried flowers incredibly relies upon the method of drying. Various methodologies needed for the production of dried alluring plant material incorporate air drying, press drying, embedded drying in desiccants, microwave oven drying, hot air oven drying, water drying, glycerin drying, and skeletonization. The information and knowledge gathered in this book may be useful in drawing the consideration of researchers to work on it. Other than that, business people can directly utilize the knowledge in the study as the suitable drying methods and approximate drying time for a variety of flowers and foliage have been enlisted in this book.

The present experiment on "Effect of drying techniques and embedding media on the colour, shape retention and overall acceptability of Palash (Butea monosperma Lam.) and Semal (Bombex ceiba L.)" was conducted in the Department of Floriculture and Landscaping, College of Horticulture and Forestry, Jhalarapatan, Jhalawar during March, 2017 to August 2017. The experiment had total 22 treatments combination studied in two flowers, including three drying conditions viz. room condition, hot air oven (40˚C, 50˚C and 60˚C) and microwave oven (2 minutes, 3 minutes and 4 minutes) in combination with three different embedding media sand, borax and silica gel. The experiment was laid out in completely randomized design (CRD) with three replications. Out of the 22 treatments studied, sensory score for colour (8.11, 8.57), shape (7.51, 8.55), overall acceptability (7.75, 8.56) of dried flowers of Palash and Semal were also highest with microwave oven drying for 3 minutes and 4 minutes with silica gel embedding. Therefore, on the basis of results of present experiment it may be concluded that dehydration of flowers of Palash and Semal can be done in microwave oven for 3 minute, 4 minute with silica gel embedding for getting good quality dried flowers.

У разматрање су укључене
релевантне студије Мике Бал, Шломит Римон-Кенан, Дејвида Хермана, Брајана Ричардсона, Алана Палмера, Манфреда Јана.

The focus of the work lies in the problem of focalization in classical and postclassical narratology studies that open a wide area for interpretation literary texts. Genette, the father of focalization in the structuralist phase of narratology, is nowadays not nearly satisfactory for the laying of foundations. Discussion with M. Bal, S. Rimmon-Kenan, M. Jahn and defence from their attacks illustrates the ground of Genette’s research in the best way. On the other hand, the late postclassical studies, especially from the cognitive phase, have greatly shaken the basis of this text-centred theory, which is quite visible in the survey of studies by D. Herman, A. Palmer, B. Richardson and M. Jahn.
Serbian academic community, apart from a small number of researchers, seems to be completely rejecting this approach and perceiving it as definitely extinct and old-fashioned after the perception of structuralist narratology shortcomings. The aim of this paper is to show that, through the prism of focalization, narratology – supplemented, corrected, “brought back to life” by cognitive research – is, quite justifiably, back in the focus of literature researchers

AbstrakBunga telang (Clitoria ternatea L.) merupakan tanaman legum yang bagian bunganya telah banyak dimanfaatkan. Double petal adalah salah satu varian spesies bunga telang yang banyak ditemukan di Asia Tenggara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi keragaman fenotipik plasma nutfah bunga telang double petal asal Indonesia (Bali, Jawa Barat, dan Jawa Timur) dan Thailand berdasarkan morfologi bunga. Percobaan disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan tiga ulangan. Data morfologi dianalisis menggunakan analisis multivariat berupa Analisis Komponen Utama (Principal Component Analysis) dan Analisis Klaster (Cluster Analysis) dengan bantuan program NTSYS 2.1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat lima komponen utama yang berpengaruh terhadap keragaman aksesi dengan persentase keragaman kumulatif 88,82%. Disease is one of the main limitations on the amount and quality of crop production, by reducing the availability, absorption, distribution and use of nutrients by the plant. Silicon (Si) is one of the most abundant elements in the lithosphere and most soils have considerable amounts. Although not considered an essential nutrient for most plants, a lot of evidence shows the beneficial effects of nutrition with Si on growth, development and health of crops. Many studies have suggested that Si activates the defense mechanisms of plants, but the exact nature of the interaction between this element and the biochemical pathways that direct resistance still remains unclear. This article presents a review of the relationship between mineral nutrition and disease development and discusses the beneficial effects of silicon in crops, its mobility in soil, the process of assimilation through the roots and its influence on tolerance to fungal diseases.

The subject of analysis in this paper consists of two renaissance novellas: the author of the first novella is the Italian renaissance writer Matteo Bandello, while François de Belleforest is the author of its French translation/adaptation and the author of the second novella which will be analyzed, and which was inspired by a renaissance tragedy. After giving different drying treatments, dried flowers were scored on quality parameters i.e. flower colour, texture, brittleness and shape retention. The results of the study suggested that Taj Mahal can be used as a suitable cultivar for drying in Microwave oven during November (Flush I) and April (Flush II) flushes and Corvette during June (Flush III) and August (Flush IV) flushes.

My dissertation will analyze mothers and maternal figures in Margaret Mitchell’s Gone with the Wind, William Faulkner’s Light in August, Eudora Welty’s The Golden Apples, and Natasha Trethewey’s Native Guard and other poems according to a feminist psychoanalytic framework that argues for the significance of Freudian castration occurring at birth instead of during a child’s early years. I contend that the mother’s body may be seen as a site of castration instead of a site of wholeness and plenitude; because the mother embodies traumatic separation or its possibility, the mother-child relationship is marked by lifelong ambivalence. The traumatic symbolic designation of the mother’s body has the same repercussions for a relationship between a maternal or caretaker figure and the children in her charge. What is today’s narratology?

This paper seeks to challenge the triumphalist claim, advanced by David Herman and subsequently widely adopted as the canonical version of narratology’s history, that towards the end of the 20th-century narratology experienced a renaissance, as the so-called ‘classical’ method of narrative analysis was replaced by a variety of ‘postclassical’ approaches. By examining some of the more recent changes in narratology’s object, methods and aims of inquiry, and by focusing in particular on the fate of the notion of narrative, it offers a reassessment of the current state of the discipline.

Kajian taksonomi tentang karakteristik salak lokal Banyumas dengan tujuan untuk (1)Mendapatkan keragaman karakteristik morfologi salak lokal Banyumas. Dan (2) Mendapatkan hubungan kekerabatan antar kultivar salak lokal Banyumas berdasarkan karakteristik morfologi. Penelitian ini mengumakan metode survei dengan cara pengambilan sampel secara acak terpilih. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa di Purwokerto terdapat 3 kultivar salak yaitu Salak ’kedung paruk’. Salak ’kalisube’ dan salak ’candinegara’ setelah dianalisis hubungan kekerabatan dengan UPGMA menggunakan metode MEGA 4.1 hasilnya salak’kalisube’mempunyai hubungan kekerabatan paling dekat dengan salak ‘candinegara’.
