The high price and limited available land coupled with the growth and increasingly diverse of human needs become the trigger. This is affected by advances in technology, various available materials as well as sufficient economics factor, making high-rise buildings as one of the development options in major cities around the world. Several factors such as, technology, modernity, and economics dominate the image high-rise buildings. Is it possible to construct the unique high-rise buildings in order to be different from each other? The paper is an initial step in examining the unique concepts that can be applied on high-rise buildings as the products of technology and modernity. The development of tall structures has recently been restricted in India. Changes in the public arena as of late, identified with urbanization, financial aspects and compositional guidelines have anyway brought about a more prominent enthusiasm for the development of elevated structures. Nowadays, high-rise buildings are developing very fast to cater to the increase in demand in major urban cities. Cities are now competing in the construction of skyscrapers, a sign of progress, sophistication and urbanization. There are a many of important factors to consider during a design process of a tall building which need to be examined from a wider urban scale to a narrower architectural scale. as such location and site selection, land-use, integration of landscape elements, the use of natural energy resources (wind, sun, vegetation.), the livable urban areas and building areas and nodes (plazas, inner outer courtyards of the building, service floors), transportation, façade design, material usage. Compatibility between a building and its environment is a significant architectural conversation that should be assessed and evaluated together when trying to find solutions through sustainable architectural design considerations. The article is devoted to topical issues of researching structural designs as a component of high-rise buildings structural system, which form an architectural image and a volumetric three-dimensional structure, consisting of a set of interconnected structural elements that, working together, provide the strength of the volumetric structure, spatial rigidity and overall stability of the object. High-rise buildings use different structural designs, consisting of vertical elements (columns, walls, nuclei, diaphragms etc.) and horizontal elements (floors, beams, slanting belts etc.). Horizontal loadbearing structures of high-rise buildings, are, as a rule, of the same type and represent a rigid reinforced concrete disk (monolithic, precast-monolithic, precast). Horizontal structures carry vertical and horizontal loads and transmit them to load-bearing structures and foundations. To reduce wind effect, aerodynamically efficient cylindrical, pyramidal or prismatic shape of the building is chosen. The high-rise buildings designs have their own specificity, which greatly influences the three-dimensional planning and architectural and design decisions. These features include: significant loads on load-bearing structures; unequal loads on structural elements; high wind load as a horizontal component; problems of joint work of load-bearing structures made of steel and concrete; impact of natural factors (seismic, atmospheric, aerodynamic); influence of technogenic factors (vibrations, noise, accidents, fires, sabotage acts, local destruction); heightened requirements for fire safety and environment control systems; complex engineering and technical support.

Today, most of the cities in the world encounter the phenomenon of high rise building. The growth of high rise building in Tangail pourashava has been considerably increased since the last few years. Though high-rise buildings helped in solving the problem of shortage of land and housing, it also caused many problems in different environmental, structural, spatial, functional, socioeconomical, and demographic aspects of the city. Our study was to identify the location of high-rise buildings, to classify these buildings by their uses and to investigate the Structural and functional characteristics of high-rise buildings in Tangail Pourashava. For the study both primary and secondary data were collected, primary data has been collected from field survey and secondary data has been collected from different journals and published and unpublished publications. The study also focused on the existing high-rise buildings safety and security system available in those buildings and made recommendation that the buildings should follow the Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC) guidance strictly to ensure all safety aspects.

The main concern of this paper is to provide an overview of the current analysis and design methodology for reinforced concrete high-rise buildings. A case study of residential complex consisting of two new 30-floor towers located in Kuwait city is presented to demonstrate the most significant factors to be considered to ensure the building is designed to have sufficient strength to withstand ultimate (factored) gravity (dead plus live) and lateral (wind plus seismic) loading and sufficient stiffness to limit deformations and lateral drift to be within the acceptable range to verify the occupancy comfort level. Building code procedures are based on general assumptions, are usually but not always conservative, and do not provide accurate wind loads because of exposure conditions, directional properties of the wind climate, complex geometry shapes, torsion, aerodynamic interactions, and load combinations. Wind tunnel tests, which are capable of more accurate load definitions have become faster and more economical as a result of improved analysis and design methodologies. Finally, recommendations for analysis and design of reinforced concrete residential high-rise buildings in Kuwait are introduced.
