This is evident from his radio-plays, filled with talking animals, caricatures, painters and poets looking for fortune, and paintings coming alive. They were heavily influenced by a few of the characters found in "Corriere dei piccoli", as well as references to "Marc’Aurelio" editorial staff and the memory of Fellini’s friendship with the screenwriter Ruggero Maccari, with whom he wrote his radio-plays. Through these examples, our contribution aims to reflect on the influence the ‘civilization of the image’ had on the development of Italian culture through different media.

Therefore, the EIAR sought actively out renewal, and changes occurred over the span of about ten years, thanks to young authors working in the «radio revue» subgenre. Federico Fellini was among these authors. He contributed to the renewal with his fantasy, irony and humanity. Although often forgotten, as they were unpublished, Fellini’s radioscripts already show evidence of so-called «Fellinian» surrealism.
