The business world needs to rediscover and refine the concept of vocation. This concept for centuries has implicated/connoted/referred to the clergy, and the medical and law professions, but does the perspective of vocation, or “calling,” apply to the profession of business and organizational leadership?

Multinationals have driven the rapid economic expansion of India at a breathtaking pace. At the same time, India's infrastructure has not kept up with demand, the poor are not able to tap into the economic influx, and multinationals have raised locals concerns on what ethical practices should be driven within the country. India's situation is different from past "outsourcing activity" with the rise of globalization and makes the questions bigger. How should multinationals conduct business within India and what does an ethical framework look like specifically within India and in light of the changes caused by globalization?

This paper will look at a proposal for an ethical framework for multinationals doing business in India and will propose a need to inquire and put in place a globalization ethic that will serve today's new business climate. Beyond the normative business ethics of utilitarianism and Kant's theory of the categorical imperative the ethical model of virtue ethics will be applied through the lens of a vocational metaethic. The new ethical framework will also apply Indian tradition in the context of present and past reflection to strive for Justice in the new expansion of India. An additional framework of the ethical model is globalization to ensure that business strives forward but at the same time considers the realities of the market situation. To complete the ethical model the paper analyzes key stakeholders in Indian business, beyond the traditional stakeholders, to give multinationals a framework to weave within the fabric of their organization and help put in place policies and process that reflect the ethical model. The fictional company Transporter, a creator and manufacture of cell phones, provides a "case study" of how the ethical model can take shape within a multinational complex situation in doing business in India.

Grace can be divided into two categories: the first being saving grace, this is the grace that is revealed in God’s word on how to be saved.  The second is common grace, this is grace that is given to all mankind and allows good to flourish in mankind.

The question that arises is did the “miraculous” spiritual gifts continue within the early church or did they cease as part of the establishment of the church? This paper will first define spiritual gifts, examine the debates over miraculous gifts within the early church, and then seek to explore whether the miraculous gifts continued within the post-apostolic church.

The role of the laity in the church has been a topic of discussion during the 20/21st centuries in both Catholic and Protestant theological conversations. The intensity of the topic has grown in recent years because of questions surrounding the role of the church in society and the question of the power of Christ to transform society despite the movement towards secularization, especially in the West, that is devoid of the Triune God. This conversation brings to the forefront the question of the meaning of the Church in regards to its ecclesiology and the ultimate purpose it serves.

I plan to further develop this concept in the future with additional focus on insights of the Church Fathers.

God reveals himself in ways that we cannot always understand in our own language or knowledge. At the same time the scriptural witness declares a personal and revealing encounter with God, “an unveiling of what remains veiled and hidden.” The scriptural question is complex since the message is transmitted through time beyond the initial act of communication. But the message of God or Yahweh still lives beyond the moment of the act within the witness of Scripture.  The question that arises is this: is the text the revelation, or only the medium or witness of the message that it contains?

Thirty years ago, Yves Congar, a French theologian in the Roman Catholic Church, wrote a three volume series on the Holy Spirit entitled I Believe in the Holy Spirit. It was a response to the ‘renewal’ movement within the Catholic Church and the broader ‘Charismatic renewal’ movement within the universal Christian church. Congar’s objective in writing the volumes was to ground the topic of the Holy Spirit in the life and movement of the church’s history and to “...evolve the theology of the Holy Spirit and his role in the Church.” The origins of this renewal movement lay in ‘Pentecostalism’ and was “...characterized by an emphasis on group worship and the exercise of spiritual ‘gifts’, especially divine healing and glossolalia.” By the 1980’s, this renewal movement was identified by the Vatican as “...one of the main lay movements” within the Roman Catholic Church.

In this paper I will first look at Congar’s main contributions to the theology of the Holy Spirit brought out in his book I Believe in the Holy Spirit and later in his book The Word and the Spirit. Next, I will review the literature that was influenced by Congar’s work over the last three decades and I will analyze his growing impact on academic theology. Then I will reflect on his impact on the Catholic Church today, his influence on the ‘Charismatic movement’, and review his impact on the modern Ecumenical movement. In conclusion, I will explore what implications and insights can be learned for today’s Church and what implications his insights will have on the future of Christianity’s reflection on the theology of the Holy Spirit.

In this paper I will piece together Eusebius’s thoughts on the Scriptural canon from his work Historia ecclesiastica. First, I will look at the various views about Eusebius both during his time, post his death, and into the modern period. Secondly, I will look at his view of what was starting to be classified as “Holy Scripture” at the time and how Christians approached and debated over this discussion. Thirdly, I will address the topic of the gospels and writings and which books were part of the “status quo” and which books were under dispute.3 And lastly, I will look at the way Eusebius viewed the canon and what implications it may have for us in the present day Christian Church. Eusebius’s Historia ecclesiastica was the first Christian Church history to quote actual sources and gives us a perspective on what it was like to live under the threat of persecution and how the church birthed, formed, and fought over the books that would become its living testament of what God had done and will continue to do to bless the Church. He also laid out the various agreements and disputes on what was in the canon of Scriptures and highlights books not in the canon and the messy process of excluding them.

Master level course on Global Distribution and Channel Management (for the Master of Global Entrepreneurship and Management degree) that focuses on additional challenges and complications in distribution and channel management associated with country borders. Unlike domestic distribution partners, international distribution partners would typically take greater responsibility (developing promotional strategy, taking greater financial risk, etc.), be given more power and freedom (territorial exclusivity, greater autonomy, etc.), and be compensated more handsomely. This course will examine in-depth a few representative global distribution systems, and revealtheir pros and cons to different stakeholders.

Supply Chain Management is now considered a key strategic priority in companies large and small.  Without a successful global supply chain program, a company will not be able to design, deliver, scale, and enhance key products effectively that are increasingly outsourced to supply chain partners around the world.  This course provides an in-depth understanding of the supply chain management process from sourcing products, managing supplier relationships, contractual terms, inventory management, addresses the growth and development of digital supply chains, and highlights topics in the hot new area of supply chain finance.  Other topics include: global logistics, supply chain risk management, supply chain design, organizational operations and dynamics, sales and operations planning, and supply chain networks.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching supply chain management to both students and practitioners. In addition, I have had the opportunity to manage diverse suppliers and supply chain teams all over the world. Here is a brief guide on the 11 essentials of managing a supply chain.

The course covers end-to-end value chain management from raw materials to the final customer: product shipment, delivery of service, or consumption of digital assets.  This course will address supply chain management in the context of delivering value to the customer through embedded sustainability within the internal operations and external supply chain partners to ensure the business can deliver a positive triple bottom line: profitable, socially responsible, and sustainable environmental practice.  Topics include: internal operations, supplier management, commodity and category management, sourcing, B2B and B2C value chains, process creation and improvement, service delivery, risk management, system design to ensure business value, global compliance, channel & global distribution management, and the emerging field of software and app supply chains.  The class will utilize simulations, case studies, and a final group project to ensure practical application of sustainable value chain management.

Technology has always propelled trade. From the
invention of the steam engine and steamship in the
1700s, the popularization of the standard shipping
container in the 1950s, and the rise of the internet
in the 1990s, technology has over the centuries
profoundly changed the way we trade. Today,
emerging technologies and digitalization are changing
trade at a speed much faster than before – leading to
both opportunities and challenges.
The COVID-19 pandemic has shown that digital trade
and commerce has become a staple for survival for
small and medium-sized enterprises all over the world,
while the application of autonomous technologies –
from robotics to artificial intelligence – have
contributed to the operation of ports and warehouses
with minimal staffing during lockdowns. According to
a World Economic Forum business survey, the adoption
of TradeTech – the set of technologies that enables
global trade to become more efficient, inclusive
and sustainable – has helped to ease supply chain
bottlenecks across different industries.
As TradeTech adoption is moving fast and is largely
driven by the private sector, there is an urgent need
for trade policymaking to keep pace. For trade to
work for all, TradeTech adoption must happen in
the most efficient and inclusive manner across the
globe and for all members of society. The benefits
of TradeTech on efficiency and sustainability are
highly promising. However, uneven deployment
due to regulatory fragmentation could result in
unintended consequences of unequal growth, threats
to cybersecurity and a growing trend in technonationalism.
Leveraging technologies for trade requires more
than technological innovation. The major challenge
might actually be international policy coordination
and coherence. The right ecosystem needs to be in
place to drive global adoption and scalability. Trade
agreements can play a key role in this regard. Recent
trade agreements and plurilateral initiatives have
started to explore the interplay between technology
and trade. Yet, further input and analysis are needed
on issues such as electronic transferable records,
automated contracts, digital tokens, the interoperability
of data models, and the digital identity of legal and
physical persons and of physical and digital goods.
This joint World Economic Forum and WTO
publication aims to shed light in this area, providing
public, private and civil society’s inputs on the
building blocks for TradeTech policy adoption: the
5 Gs of TradeTech. This publication builds on the
“Trade for Tomorrow” call to action put forward by
both organizations last year, to bring trade to a new
speed for all.
