Background: Health status of any community depends on the care provided to its vulnerable population like women and children. Good care during pregnancy assures an uneventful childbirth and healthy mother and child. Hence this study was conducted to assess utilization of antenatal care (ANC) services by mothers attending immunization clinics in a primary health centre (PHC) and subcentres. Methods: In this facility based cross sectional study, 200 mothers who delivered between July 2012 to June 2013 were interviewed using a questionnaire. Details regarding antenatal checkups were noted down from Thayi card. Results: Full ANC services were utilized by 93% women. All mothers had registered pregnancy and most within 1st trimester. 61% were staying in village more than 10 km away from a PHC. 42.5% of mothers had married before 18 years and 54.5% had their first pregnancy between 15 to 20 years. Conclusions: Awareness and utilization of ANC services was high in the study area. Child marriage and teen age pregnancies were considerably high.

It is odd, perhaps, given that Terri would know nothing of the court's decision, that the outcome hinged on what her husband and parents claimed her wishes would have been, as a result of the so-called substituted judgement test. By contrast, the views of Dianne, who went on to suffer greatly before she died, were largely irrelevant and trumped by the possibility of harm to others. The law moves in ways that are mysterious to many. Both these fascinating books, although dealing with different jurisdictions and issues, contribute to our understanding of the most important ethical challenges that lawyers will face in the coming decades.

ILLIAM J. YOUNG was the leading mathematical instrument W maker in the United States in the middle decades of the nineteenth century. He redesigned the basic instruments, adapting European designs for American conditions, and made a good many of those actually used to survey the American continents. British instrument makers rapidly lost the competitive edge they had previously enjoyed. Among American instrument makers, many of whom copied his designs, Young was a pioneer in the industrialization of his craft, leading the way in both the mechanization and rationalization of the work process. These factors, plus a large and expanding market, ensured his financial success. The details of Young's responses to changing market, labor and technological conditions provide the basis for this story. William J. Young was born in 1800, either in Scotland, or in Philadelphia soon after his parents migrated there.' William, Sr. worked as a tailor, prospering enough to purchase a house in Southwark, the immigrant working class neighborhood just south of Independence Hall. 2 At the age of 13 William J. was apprenticed to Thomas Whitney, to learn "The Trade or Mystery of a Mathematical Instrument Maker." 3 Seven years later, upon achieving his freedom, and with $30 lawful money in his pocket, the young man began in business. When Whitney died soon thereafter, Young probably acquired the tools and good will of his trade. In 1825 Young married, set up housekeeping in Southwark, and opened a shop at 130 S. Front, a street that had long housed most of Philadelphia's instrument shops and stores.

The ensuing argument, carried out in the courts of law and public opinion, illustrates the importance of the linear model to scientists who staked their identities on the model of disinterested research but who also craved credit for important practical results.
