This paper evaluates and demonstrates how libraries can practically harness the completely free SaaS service model based on public cloud deployment model infrastructure to fill this divide and achieve the larger goal of open science. The paper highlights the process and steps of using Zenodo, a FREE and OPEN platform, powered by Invenio (Free Open-Source Software) RDM infrastructure, to establish a trusted repository with the provision of self-archiving. To test the KPIs and functionalities, a live online community 'dlispu' was built on the Zenodo platform and the archiving process was executed. The findings of the study reveal that libraries can easily adopt Green Open Access, thus strengthening the scholarly communication cycle without any upfront and subsequent cost. This immediately outweighs the limitations of the digital divide. The positive outcomes of the study pave the way for the libraries with resource insufficiencies in making research more findable, shareable, and reproducible, with confidence. The findings of the study also reveal that the Zenodo repository is a OAI-PMH-compliant repository supporting metadata harvesting and interoperability.

It has the power to democratize the knowledge by removing hurdles from free access to scholarly works while encouraging knowledge sharing. Institutional Repositories (IRs) play a vital role in the OA movement by facilitating the Green Route to Open Access. In India, some elite educational and research institutes such as the Indian Statistical Institute, some CSIR Laboratories, IITs, and IIMs have taken significant initiatives in building IRs. In addition to theses, a few Universities have also taken the initiative and now have their own IRs as their proudest possession. However, many Indian Irs, once functional are in bad shape and a few have been closed. This paper deals with IR initiatives in the discipline of Medicine and Biology including. The paper discusses their scope, collection strength, growth rate and their current status.

It has provided universal access to information through diverse technological innovations. The academic community is one of the major beneficiaries of theses advancements and online access. The faculty and students are now dependent on e-journals, online databases and other e-resources for enhancement in the quality of teaching, learning, research and publications. The aim of this study was to analyze the use of the Internet and related issues among the teachers and students (B.Tech III ) of Swami Devi Dyal Institute of Engineering. A well structured questionnaire was distributed amongst faculty members and students to understand their feedback and experience regarding various aspects of Internet including frequency, satisfaction level, type of e-resources accessed, file type preferred, purposes for which the Internet is used, etc. It was found that the Internet had become a helpful tool in the hands of students and faculty members and the online resources are acknowledged as vital instrument for teaching, research and learning process of these respondents.

To assess the paper discovery module and other associated features, the paper titled "Lifetime Prevalence and Age-of-Onset Distributions of DSM-IV Disorders in the National Comorbidity Survey Replication" as selected as "seed paper" authored by American sociologist "Ronald C Kessler", Professor of Health Care Policy at Harvard Medical School. The findings of the experimental study revealed that unlike traditional citation databases which would yield results by keyword or topic search, Inciteful creates a graph of academic papers based on selected "seed papers" which provides greater insight from it very quickly while also providing information on similar papers, important papers as well as prolific authors, institutions and journals. Research discovery using network analysis algorithms is a novel concept being tested through the Inciteful web application. The study demonstrates a novel tool way of exploring the literature through maps and filters. The method discussed goes beyond just keyword searching, thus avoiding the problem of missing papers if wrong keywords are entered by the researchers. The approach adopted by this study gives newer insights and allow researchers and student to find access to high quality content in a more intuitive and accurate way.

Design/methodology/approach This paper explores the relationship between researcher development and library research support. The authors observed the interconnectedness of the two concepts and how this should be studied more with respect to librarianship. Five major higher education and researcher development–related models are examined to assess which would be more suited for library’s research support activities. Accordingly, Prof Linda Evans’ conceptual researcher development model, the Vitae Researcher Development Framework (RDF), the Research Skill Development Framework, Society of College, National and University Libraries Seven Pillars of Information Literacy model and Association of College and Research Libraries’ Standards for Libraries in Higher Education were reviewed. Review and examination of the frameworks, along with relevant literature on the topic, were examined. Findings The authors found that the Vitae RDF seemed most ideal, as it was comprehensive and detailed in presentation and could be used not just by the academic staff but also by librarians and researchers to their benefit. Research limitations/implications Further studies and thorough review of recent educational and library-related frameworks and models are required from the lens of library research support. Practical implications Application of frameworks needs to be actively adopted by librarians. Originality/value There are few studies that have examined researcher development and research support in librarianship in conjunction. The present study has aimed to bridge this gap.

It aims to support learning and teaching programme significantly. Learning material contained in an OCW provides learners an opportunity to gain knowledge beyond their routine classroom environments. These are in the digital form which can be accessed online, thus breaking the barriers of time and distance. Indian academics can play a significant role in creating OCW materials for the students to propagate the teaching and learning process diluting the limitations of traditional educational setup and begin a new culture of "Learning Beyond Classroom". The present study aims to sensitize the teachers and learners about the potentials of the OCWs. It presents a proposal for creating an "Indian OCW Consortium" at different levels. Also discusses the challenges and issues in establishing such an OCW project.

With this research, we have tried to bridge a gap between LIS research and patents, which is unavailable till date in literature. To conduct the study, various patent search databases were used. Data in the form of DOIs were extracted from Scopus database for the journal Scientometrics and were processed and analysed in visualisation software and spreadsheet software. The findings reveals how industries filing patents derive valuable inputs from LIS research in terms of its utilization, recognition and acceptance. This research paper will enhance the understanding regarding LIS, what is its value in Research and Development (R&D). Normally, it is believed that only STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Medical) research is fruitful for patents and innovations. The study breaks the glass ceiling as it provides an evidence based approach to justify the LIS research does play a crucial role in growth, development and progress of the society through its existence and proven integration with the patents. The findings reveal that LIS research is influencing Patents as they are being cited regularly with the growth in this discipline.

Users submit their reviews for downloaded apps on these sites in the form of star ratings and text reviews. Apps can contain huge volumes of feedback, making it difficult for the user and the developer to skim through thousands of such reviews to get an insight into usage and impact of such apps. Thus, the current study aims to assess the usage and satisfaction among users of the Mendeley's Android app vs iOS app.The analytics are performed by using Appbot analytics software which captured, monitored, measured and analyzed the review results for a particular period. Appbot provides easy-tounderstand insights of an app using artificial intelligence algorithm tools. The findings of the study reveal strong inclination, adoption and usage of Mendeley's Android app compared to that of iOS among users. The value of this research is in getting an insight of the pattern/behavior of users towards using apps on different platforms (Android vs iOS) and provides valuable results for the app developers in monitoring usage and enhancing features for the satisfaction of users. Without mobile app analytics, one will be blindly trying out different things without any evidence to back up their experiments.
