A survey is conducted among primary and secondary schools in Nigeria to gather data on the current usage of educational technologies for social studies education. Interviews are also conducted with educators and experts in the field to gain insight into their opinions and experiences. The findings revealed that the majority of schools in Nigeria are not utilizing educational technologies for social studies education, and those that are, are not using them to their full potential. However, educators and experts agree that educational technologies have the potential to greatly enhance the learning experience and engagement of students in social studies. The results of this study suggested that there is a need for increased incorporation of educational technologies in social studies education in Nigerian schools. This could lead to improved academic performance and critical thinking skills in students. Based on the findings, it is recommended that schools in Nigeria invest in and prioritize the use of educational technologies in social studies education. Additionally, training and support should be provided to educators to ensure they are knowledgeable and confident in incorporating these technologies into their teaching methods. In conclusion, this study highlights the importance of educational technologies in promoting early learning of social studies in Nigerian schools and provides valuable insights for future research and implementation. The integration of these technologies has the potential to greatly benefit both students and educators in the field of social studies education.

The study adopts a qualitative and narrative approach, utilizing secondary sources to analyze key case studies, including the Yoruba Civil War, the Anglo-Ekumeku War, the Italo-Ethiopian Wars, and the Aba and Egba Women's Riots. The research highlights how African resistance to colonial incursion was shaped by competition over resources, cultural clashes, and asymmetrical power dynamics. While superior military technology and divide-and-rule tactics often favored European powers, African responses-ranging from guerrilla warfare to mass protestsdemonstrated resilience and strategic adaptation. The study also explores the role of World Wars I and II in demystifying European superiority and fueling nationalist movements, as returning African soldiers and economically strained colonial subjects increasingly demanded self-determination. Theoretical frameworks such as the realistic group conflict theory, relative deprivation theory, and asymmetric conflict theory are employed to explain the causes and consequences of these conflicts. The paper concludes that while colonial powers often prevailed militarily, African resistance laid the groundwork for decolonization, challenging oppressive policies and asserting agency in the face of imperial domination.

This study focuses on the effects of Boko Haram insurgency in Kibakuland, where the group established dominance over most Local Government Areas, including Chibok. The insurgency devastated not only Borno State but also the entire Northeast States and Nigeria socially, politically, and economically. Despite military presence since 2014, attacks persist, affecting social, economic, and educational aspects of Kibaku life. This paper examines the social, political, and economic consequences of Boko Haram insurgency on the Kibaku community in Borno State, aligning with Thucydides' belief in documenting contemporary phenomena for posterity. Historical research methods, using both primary and secondary data, are employed to analyze the aftermath of Boko Haram insurgency in Kibakuland, focusing on religious, educational, cultural, demographic, inter-group relations, governance, and military aspects.

This is a very important marketing research tool for planning, developing and promoting its tourism potential. The tourism destination in Taraba State, Nigeria has witnessed tremendous attraction over the years from domestic and international tourists. This research assesses the socioeconomic implications of ecotourism development particularly as regards resort spots in the state such as the Gashaka Gunti National Park, the Rufu Rock and Water Falls, the Marmara Crocodile Pond and the scenic Mambilla Plateau. However, their socioeconomic impacts were asses based on the level of international patronage and the level of integration of the people toward ecotourism development in the state. Data were collected by a combination of questionnaires, direct field observation and interviews. A random sampling technique was adopted to verify the validity of the data collected in the field. Although findings reveal that between 2010 and 2016 there was a great variation in international patronage between the four resorts and also low level of awareness was another setback toward ecotourism development in the state. Nevertheless, ecotourism potential in Taraba State has the capacity for job creation, poverty reduction, economic growth and general transformation of the entire state if all the stakeholders such as the government, private individuals and the general public are committed to boosting and developing this laudable industry.

Many Cameroonian cities at the dawn of democracy in Cameroon were characterized by narrow roads which posed a great problem to city dwellers. The major means of transportation was the use of taxis. At the dawn of the 21 st century, many Cameroon cities saw the influx of motorcycles which were used commercially as a complementary means of inner city transportation. The city of Bamenda was not left out of this growing phenomenon. The use of commercial motorcycles as a means of transport sooner became a threat to urban security as it was easily used to commit urban crimes. The major crimes were pickpocketing, kidnapping for ransom, harassment and armed banditry. Based on this background, this piece attempts to unravel the connection between the motorbike and urban criminality in the town of Bamenda. The paper implored an interdisciplinary approach using the qualitative method of data collection and interpretation. It submits that; the motorbike sector facilitated the activities of criminals, it equally renders the duty of security officials difficult and that commercial motorbike transportation is a threat to urban security. The study expands on other ways to curb the prevalence of urban crime and boost security.

Findings of many research efforts have shown that African media do not reflect unemployment profile of the young people, including Nigerian media system. Media bias against the reportage of unemployment crises in Nigeria continues to echo among different classes of the population. The study investigates the broadcast media reportage of unemployment crises among youths in SouthWestern Nigeria. Survey research design was adopted to investigate the opinions, thoughts and knowledge of young people about broadcast reportage of unemployment crises in SouthWest Nigeria. Findings showed that lack of government policy aimed at curbing unemployment crises is a barrier to broadcast media organisation to report unemployment crises in South West and broadcast media reports are all about government, ignoring youth-centred development messages. Therefore, it is recommended that media men and women must be trained and retrained because youths play a major role in the sustainable development of any nation. Youthengaging programmes and massive investment in entrepreneurial education should top the priorities of governments at Federal, State and Local Government levels. Engaging young people in gainful and productive activities will go a long way to impacting the development of Nigeria. Besides, agriculture should be made attractive to the young school leavers by way of mechanising agricultural activities, and provision of modern fish rearing, piggery, snail rearing and animal rearing equipment to the young people.

This paper explores how the playwright critiques elite authoritarianism and reimagines communal justice through indigenous Yoruba aesthetics such as chants, ritual performances, and masquerades. Using Marxist literary theory and cultural theory as analytical lenses, the study examines how Akano stages power, resistance, and reconciliation, offering a unique model of governance rooted in ancestral ethics and performative tradition. The analysis reveals that conflict resolution in Akano's drama is not only ideological but symbolic and restorative-underscoring the value of indigenous cultural frameworks in addressing contemporary African socio-political crises.

The research explored the nature of this collaboration, assessing the impact of various programs implemented by UNICEF, including the provision of clean water, sanitation infrastructure, and hygiene education campaigns. Through a mixed-methods approach involving both qualitative and quantitative data, the study identified the key outcomes of these interventions, such as increased access to safe drinking water, improved sanitation facilities, and changes in community behaviors regarding hygiene practices. However, despite these advancements, the study highlighted several challenges, including inadequate maintenance of WASH infrastructure, insufficient funding for sustained efforts, and limited capacity at the local government level to manage and monitor WASH services. Additionally, the study revealed disparities in WASH access between urban and rural areas, where rural communities still face significant barriers to obtaining clean water and sanitation. The research also delved into the prospects for future WASH interventions in Taraba State, suggesting that a more integrated approach involving stronger institutional coordination, greater community involvement, and improved funding mechanisms was essential for achieving sustainable development in the sector. Ultimately, the study emphasized the importance of continuing partnerships between UNICEF and the Taraba State Government to ensure the long-term success of WASH programs and the continued progress towards meeting the sustainable development goals (SDGs) post-2023.

Secondary data on gross domestic product per capita, international tourism receipt, exchange rate and foreign direct investment were sourced from the World Development Indicators (WDI) of the World Bank while data on terms of trade and globalization index were sourced from Statistical Bulletin of the Central Bank of Nigeria and KOF Swiss Economic Institute Database respectively. Data collected were analyzed using econometrics techniques of the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model. The study finds that the interactive effect of both tourism and globalization has a negative but insignificant impact on economic growth in Nigeria which implies that the tourism industry in Nigeria is largely underdeveloped and has failed to take advantage of increasing globalization while foreign direct investment and exchange rate significantly promote economic growth in Nigeria. The study concludes that the tourism industry in Nigeria is underdeveloped and has failed to harness the opportunities linked with globalization.

Russia, despite its post-Cold War resurgence, faces significant vulnerabilities, including military overextension, economic sanctions, and internal political challenges. The Burkinabe junta, which came to power in 2022 amidst escalating jihadist violence, has increasingly turned to Russia for military assistance, particularly through private military contractors like the Wagner Group. This alliance, driven by a shared anti-Western sentiment, offers short-term solutions to Burkina Faso's security crisis but carries long-term risks. The paper highlights the dangers of over-relying on a fragile Russia, which could exacerbate Burkina Faso's political instability, economic dependency, and regional isolation. It further explores the implications of this strategic partnership on both countries' future trajectories and the broader geopolitical landscape in the Sahel and beyond. The study ultimately calls for Burkina Faso to diversify its security partnerships and pursue a more balanced and sustainable approach to governance and international relations.

The study qualitatively interrogated the significance of conflict analysis in effective conflict management. The conflict transformation approach was chosen as the theoretical groundwork of the study. A better understanding of the primary causes of conflicts, designing and determining the most appropriate approach, measuring progress and strategising on the next line of action, facilitating and identifying all parties in conflict and providing empirical and standardized data are important roles of conflict analysis. However, this lofty role is been challenged by inclusion dilemma, scope challenges, challenges of access, voice representation marginalisation and challenges of data-gathering. The study concluded that conflict analysis is the basis of conflict sensitivity with a good understanding of its perspective, and address impersonally rather than sectarian prejudice. To address the identified threats, the study recommends objectivity in the selection process, careful choice of scope, creating direct access for analysts, and addressing the marginalisation of certain groups. Implementing a policy that encourages conflict analysis in the field is also germane.

The global picture projected the increasing instability in Bafut Fondom exacerbated by identity politics. It weakened prospects for peaceful coexistence as neither side wanted to see the other. The scenario gave an impetus to the secessionist tendency which sprang up in the background of attempted acculturation, confusion over settlement, and control of jurisdiction. The research is anchored on critical analysis in evaluating primary and secondary sources for credibility. Primary sources use informants, and original documents to gain firsthand insight. Secondary sources consulted scholarly works, books and articles to gain a broader understanding of the study. An interdisciplinary approach incorporates insight from other disciplines such as sociology, economics, or anthropology. The findings revealed that the Bafut occupied a settlement before the arrival of the Obang and Mundum. Secondly, the absolute power given to the fon made him trample on the people with impunity. Linguistic differences within these groups provided a strong case for identity preservation. Traditional governance and cultural identity were the locomotives of the identity crisis in Bafut Fondom. All these have had impacts on inter-community relations as the tensions in the Fondom remain extant. These issues, although local, might influence national politics.
