The current study has investigated the effects of justice, aggression, and burnout on academic achievement. The sample (n=1481) of the study consisted of undergraduate university students. The constructs used in the study have been utilized from the extant literature. In detail, perceptions of justice were operationalized as "distributive justice", "procedural justice", and "interactional justice". Aggression was utilized as "verbal aggression". Burnout was operationalized as "emotional exhaustion", "cynicism", and reduced professional efficacy". Academic achievement was utilized as "GPA scores" of students. In regards to the aforementioned constructs, the study has developed and tested a research model with 22 hypothesized linkages. These 22 hypotheses were designed to provide assertions to the generic research questions of the study.

The current study investigated the effects of job satisfaction and organizational commitment on organizational citizenship behavior and turnover intentions. The study also examined the effect of organizational citizenship behavior on turnover intentions. Frontline employees working in five-star hotels in North Cyprus were selected as a sample. The result of multiple regression analyses revealed that job satisfaction is positively related to organizational citizenship behavior and negatively related to turnover intentions. Affective organizational commitment was found to be positively related to organizational citizenship behavior. However, the study found no significant relationship between organizational commitment and turnover intentions. Furthermore, organizational citizenship behavior was negatively associated with turnover intentions. The study provides discussion and avenues for future research.

The purpose of the current study is to measure the effects of distributive justice, procedural justice, and interactional justice on frontline employees' job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The study also aims to measure the effect of job satisfaction on organizational commitment. The study was conducted with a sample of frontline hotel employees in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Stepwise regression analysis was employed in order to test the hypotheses. The results demonstrated that distributive, procedural, and interactional justice were positively related to frontline employees' job satisfaction. Although interactional justice exerted a significant positive impact on organizational commitment, distributive and procedural justice did not. In addition job satisfaction did not have a significant relationship with organizational commitment. Managerial implications, limitations and directions for future research are provided in the study.

This study develops and tests a model that investigates the effects of work-family conflict, emotional exhaustion, and intrinsic motivation on affective job outcomes using data from frontline employees in Northern Cyprus hotels. Results show that work-family conflict is positively related to emotional exhaustion. Work-family conflict was found to be negatively associated with job satisfaction. However, the study results demonstrate that work-family conflict did not depict any significant relationships with affective organizational commitment and intention to leave. Results indicate that emotional exhaustion leads to job dissatisfaction, decreased affective organizational commitment, and high levels of intention to leave. Results reveal that intrinsic motivation is significantly related to emotional exhaustion, job satisfaction, and affective organizational commitment. In addition, the study results provide empirical support for the positive impact of job satisfaction on affective organizational commitment and the negative effects of job satisfaction and affective commitment to the organization on intention to leave. Discussion and implications of the results are presented in the study. r

Based on data obtained from frontline hotel employees in Northern Cyprus, this study investigated the effects of role stress and burnout on job performance. It was found that role ambiguity decreased job performance while role conflict enhanced job performance. The results indicated that diminished personal accomplishment exerted a significant negative influence on job performance whereas the rest of the burnout dimensions did not. The results further showed that both role conflict and ambiguity exacerbated emotional exhaustion and depersonalisation. Undergraduate tourism students participated in this study to measure the effects of emotional exhaustion, cynicism, and professional efficacy (burnout) on vigour, dedication, and absorption (engagement). The study was carried out at a university in Northern Cyprus.

This study examines the effects of selected individual characteristics on frontline employee performance and job satisfaction. Specifically, the study examines: (i) the effects of trait competitiveness, self-efficacy, and effort on performance; (ii) the effects of selfefficacy and effort on job satisfaction; and (iii) the effects of performance and job satisfaction on intention to leave. The study uses a sample of frontline employees in Northern Cyprus hotels. The hypothesized relationships are tested using LISREL 8.30 through path analysis. Path analysis indicates that competitiveness, self-efficacy, and effort are significant predictors of frontline employee performance. However, the direct effect of competitiveness on performance has been found to be stronger than that of effort. Path analysis also demonstrates that the direct effect of self-efficacy on job satisfaction is stronger than that of effort. Job satisfaction has been found to be negatively associated with intention to leave, while performance has not. In addition, various demographic variables such as gender, age, education, and organizational tenure have been examined as antecedents of effort, performance, job satisfaction, and intention to leave. The inclusion of demographic variables in the equations has not changed the path-analytic results for the hypothesized relationships. The implications of the findings and avenues for future research are delineated in the study. r

The current study examined the effects of uni-dimensional aggression scale (composed of verbal aggression, anger with resentment, physical aggression, and suspicion) on students' current academic achievement score (GPA) and cumulative academic achievement score (CGPA). Undergraduate students (n=1481) partook in the current study at a university in Northern Cyprus. The study tested the negative effects of aggression on students' GPA and CGPA. Demographic variables such as age, gender, and class-size have also been incorporated into the analyses and were treated as control variables. Multiple regression analyses have been deployed to test the hypothesized relationship. Results revealed that aggression had significant negative effects on students'current academic achievement (GPA) and cumulative academic achievement score (CGPA). Inclusion of control variables into the regression equation did not confound the effect of aggression on both achievement scores. Additionally, variance inflation factor (VIF) was controlled to monitor the issue of multi-collinearity. The results depicted that all VIF values were below the benchmark value. The study further notes implications, limitations, and avenues for future research.

This study has utilized undergraduate university students as a sample to examine the relationships among fairness perceptions and two components of aggression. Students (n=1481) from a university in Northern Cyprus have participated in the current study. This study hypothesized to test the influence of uni-dimensional scale of fairness on verbal aggression and physical aggression. Demographic variables such as early/late response bias, age, gender, educational status, and class-size were treated as control variables in the correlation. The results revealed that fairness was significantly correlated with physical aggression. However, the study did not find any significant correlation coefficient between fairness and verbal aggresion. The control variables had no confounding relationship with the study variables. Avenues for future work, limitations and discussion is provided.

Self-confidence is defined as “individuals’ performance expectancies and their self-evaluations of ability and completed performances” (Lenney, 1981: 905). Self-confidence has been further distinguished into ‘general’ and ‘specific’ (Cox, 1964; Bell, 1967; Lampert and Rosenberg, 1975; Locander and Hermann, 1979). Specific self-confidence (SSC) refers to “the subject's confidence with respect to the decision at hand” and general self-confidence (GSC) is defined “as the extent to which an individual believes himself to be capable, significant, successful, and worthy” (Locander and Hermann, 1979: 270). A research model investigating the relationship of supervisor support and work-family conflict with the selected job outcomes was developed and tested using a sample of frontline employees in Northern Cyprus hotels. The results of the path analysis suggest that supervisor support alleviates frontline employees' conflicts in the work-family interface and increases their job satisfaction. Results demonstrate that family-work conflict influences job performance deleteriously. In contrast, the hypothesis that work-family conflict has a significant negative influence on job performance is not supported by the empirical data. The results of this study indicate that work-family conflict is a significant predictor of job satisfaction, while family-work conflict is not. In addition, the hypotheses that job performance exerts a significant positive effect on job satisfaction and job performance and job satisfaction depict significant positive associations with affective organizational commitment are supported by the empirical data. Although not hypothesized, results reveal that family-work conflict has a negative impact on job satisfaction indirectly by way of job performance, while family-work conflict has a detrimental effect on affective organizational commitment indirectly via job performance and job satisfaction. The results of the path analysis indicate that work-family conflict and job satisfaction are significant determinants of turnover intentions. This study, however, found no evidence of significant relationships of family-work conflict and affective organizational commitment with turnover intentions.

On one side the Republic of Iraq is a potential tourist destination, on the other hand, the country is synonymous with years of civil and regional disturbances. The levels of civil unrest, political instability, and widely reported cases of human right abuses in the country and the region at large, have created economic uncertainty, especially in the country's tourism sector. To this end, this study employed a survey method to investigate the impact of political/economic stability, legal services, functional local authority and accessibility to the tourism destination. Three hundred questionnaires collected from conveniently accessed respondents were administered for data analyses with the aid of IBM SPSS Statistics tool. In the study, empirical evidence of examined hypotheses was found as significant with the three factors having positive on the tourism sector development in Iraq. This investigation also offers policy directives to stakeholders of the tourism sector development in Iraq especially in the area of rendering quality legal services to protect the right of the tourists from potential human right abuses and security issues. Furthermore, the study revealed the critical roles of political and economic instability, functional local authorities, and accessibility of destination.
