This research paper is centered on leadership, and is written in the eyes of a civilian, not a police officer. The various leadership techniques discussed in this paper can be applied in various public safety organizations. Additionally, this paper illustrates the importance of pubic safety training and education, and also poses the question of what being a leader really entails, and what responsibilities and pressures a leader faces. Moreover, the interviews conducted in this paper, are from retired, as well as working public safety professionals. While there are many different leadership styles that are discussed in this paper, the main thesis of this paper, is understanding the difference between leadership and management, as well as knowing how to organize and run a public safety organization, not just by managing other people, but by using the art of leadership to teach and inspire, rather than just give orders.

Beach gained popularity from new residents (both year round and seasonal), because of the popular oceanfront. Additionally, in 1997, the citizens of the area voted to incorporate the city as a municipality, which has since then put the city on the map as a growing and highly desirable oceanfront community. "Sunny Isles Beach continues to be experiencing major redevelopment with mostly luxury high-rise condominiums and some elegant hotels under construction" (Shah, 2012) As of 2012, Sunny Isles Beach has a population of 21,395 people.

The purpose of this paper is to identify technology based training methods in a 21 st century work digital workforce. Different forms, as well as different social networks will be discussed, including the use of digital technology. Insights from social media managers working in government organizations to communicate in emergency situations will be discussed, including how these organizations used social media through Hurricane Sandy, including the Boston Bombing. While the overall goal of this paper is to shine a light on how social an digital media can increase technological competencies, the author will add personal insights in the conclusion of this paper on the topic of how high-tech digital technologies have changed the world, but also how it is important not to forget about the humanistic traits and abilities that an individual needs to possess in order to be a successful leader and trainer, as well as a sincere human-being.

This is a paper that I wrote for a sentencing and corrections class, which focuses on the rise and hierarchy of prison gangs. This was not an easy paper to put together, and after eight drafts, I ended up with no clear thesis. This is just an information piece, with some suggestions on how to halt the illegal activities of prison gangs.

This paper will discuss the detailed accounts of the BP (British Petroleum) oil spill that occurred on the Gulf of Mexico in 2010, and the drastic effects that the oil had on wildlife, the water, the land, as well as the political and financial upset caused by BP, especially BP CEO Tony Hayward during the time of the oil spill. This paper will illustrate the breakdown in crisis communication, crisis management, no emergency management planning, as well as poor strategic planning on the part of BP and Tony Hayward. Additionally, this paper will illustrate how true the words of Yogi Berra are, when he said, "We made too many wrong mistakes" (Corbell, 2015). Moreover, this paper will discuss the author’s views on leadership, crisis communication, planning, and humility within public and private organizations.
