The present paper pleads for the awareness of HR strategy importance, in terms of proper design and implementation, as they definitely could impede or sustain the development of an organization. By making use of G.VALI, the model of organizational culture dynamics, we look for revealing the impact that (non-)existence of HR strategy, its alignment and coherence could have on the organization success. As proven by human experience, all types of strategies could work and be effective in certain conditions. Even more, no one can say that one strategy is better than other. However, in the same way, there is no guarantee of some strategies success. In this light, the difference lays in the handy and clever interlock of the country specific advantages and firm(to be) specific advantages. For achieving this specific aim, vertical (alignment) and horizontal (coherence) integration of each functional strategy must be ensured.

Among the core competencies of the SHRM (Strategic Human Resource Management) we should take into consideration the ones regarding finding, keeping and managing special skills, the impact and necessity of innovation, and also providing outstanding service within the Romanian medical system. Those elements may represent the main characteristics in order to provide and adopt good strategic policies within the healthcare system. Furthermore, given those aspects, young doctors in Romania may find the medical career appealing and developing new competencies and job satisfaction within the public and private hospitals in Romania. Motivation of the medical staff is a poorly appreciated issue, nationally speaking, although the development of some motivation strategies will potentially lead to an increase in employee retention.

A bounty of innovative technologies, designed to improve our quality of life by integrating intelligent devices into various aspects of home living, have emerged in recent years. While a lot of these technologies have already graduated from the wishlists of the early adopters into the mainstream, there is still a lot to be said about the efficiency of the decision to go from home to smart home. Many technologies aim to increase comfort alone, while mostly disregarding concerns for costs; others aim to maintain or improve comfort while decreasing usage costs, typically those pertaining to energy and other utilities. Our study looks at those technologies which promise to yield the best results in terms of economic efficiency and analyses the relationship between current trends on energy markets and the price points required to make those technologies viable on a large scale.

When South Sudan proclaimed independence from Sudan in 2011, projections were optimistic in that the country's considerable oil resources would secure its viability as the world's newest state. Fast forward five years and South Sudan is grappling with a crippling civil war and facing a dire humanitarian crisis, situation which begs the question: from an economic perspective, is South Sudan a failed experiment in statehood? This paper attempts to tackle the question by analysing South Sudan's main sources of revenue, its current structural deficiencies and the cost of war on its economic development.

Twenty-six years ago the international community witnessed one of the most dramatic changes in economic systems. Naturally, the fall of communism in Eastern Europe and its consequences were events difficult to judge and anticipate in their immediate aftermath. Today, we have gained a much more coherent perspective on their meaning. The political liberalization of Poland in 1989 and its transition to the market economy was generally perceived as the most successful of all post-communist countries. From 1990 to 2013, Poland experienced the most outstanding economic growth within the former communist bloc. It doubled its GDP in real terms and became the only country to experience economic growth during the financial crisis of 2008-09. However, the polish secret recipe lies in the “shock therapy” adopted at the beginning of the 90’s. The aim of this paper is to examine the importance of the Balcerowicz’s program in creating the basis for economic stability and growth through privatization, liberalization of foreign trade, monetary reform and an open economy. We will also review the impact of this unprecedented transformation in shaping a strong, market-oriented economy.

Online education has a tremendous impact on the education system as a whole. By changing the way students and instructors interact, online education is challenging universities to adapt in order to meet the requirements of present day students. Research into online education efficiency and effectiveness tends to consider there is a clear distinction between online education and traditional education. We believe that this is no longer the case. Variables considered when assessing online education are different from those used in assessing traditional education. This model of assessment is no longer suitable to the realities of the educational process as we can no longer find a clear separation between the online and that which remains offline. The distinction between jobs and education is also becoming less clear, lines are blurring and the two formerly distinct worlds of the labour market and the university campus keep finding new points of intersection and interaction. Tools traditionally considered to be the exclusive domain of online education have become mainstream and are now used for what we should simply call " education ". Taking into account all of the above, we propose a model that supports economic efficiency and effectiveness in education. The model aims to provide alternatives designed to make us better adapted to face the challenges put forth by our modern world. We largely focus on providing more opportunities within the entire educational system based on a vision of lifelong learning. Throughout the development of the model we relied on the standard tools associated to economic efficiency in order to determine which components should be part of the model and also in testing the model's functionality. This paper focuses mainly on the cost-benefit analysis that we conducted on US and EU markets although other tools have been tested and used in earlier stages of our research. The data that we used integrated information, from US and EU markets, about both private and state investment of time and money in education with information about labour productivity and economic value added in those same markets. Our results have shown that only through an integrated approach, one that looks at both online and offline education, one that looks at education throughout the productive lifetime of the individual, can we correctly assess educational impact and design better, value creating, educational processes and systems.
