Governance
OpenAIRE is a participatory initiative from its onset and is reflected in its governance structure:
- General Assembly: the highest decision making body (votes from regular members).
- Executive Board: supervises the activities of the organisation.
- Standing Committees: provide strategic guidance to the operation of the organisation.
- Working Groups: provide hands on guidance and results for the implementation of Open Science.
- Management Office: carries out all daily activities.
- Ethics Advisory Committee: oversees ethical issues of the infrastructure.

Executive Board
The Executive Board is composed of eight experts in Open Science. Its role is to steer, evaluate and advance the implementation of the strategic directions of the OpenAIRE e-Infrastructure.
The chair of the Executive Board and General Assembly is Inge Van Nieuwerburgh. -
Standing Committees
Open Science Strategies Standing Committee
Identifies emerging and analyses existing policies regarding Open Science.
Services and Technology Standing Committee
Defines, assesses and expands the OpenAIRE services with focus on the interoperability within the global context.
Training and Support Standing Committee
Develops training strategy, monitors and measures training operations.
Outreach, Communication and Engagement Standing Committee
Provides a communications, outreach and engagement strategy, recommends the prioritization for services and stakeholders, and is responsible for onboarding new OpenAIRE members.

Working Groups
Monitor OS Policies WG
The Monitor Open Science Policies (MOSP) WG identifies indicators for measuring Open Science uptake and impact, overviews monitoring activities in European countries and aligns with OpenAIRE.
Research Data Management WG
The Research Data Management (RDM) WG focuses on institutional and national RDM support and good practice exchange.
Guidelines
The objective of this working group is to continue the development of the metadata guidelines and application profiles within OpenAIRE projects, ensuring community convergence and updates.
EOSC WG
The EOSC WG discusses the potential new role of NOADs and the EOSC implementation at national level.

Our team is a valuable asset of the OpenAIRE and the key to its success. High-skilled people from all over Europe with passion for Open Science and significant experience in the relevant to their work fields consist are responsible for ensuring the implementation of the decisions of the General Assembly and the directions provided by the OpenAIRE Executive Board.
