The EOSC EU Node continues to take shape thanks to valuable input from the research and Open Science community. Following the Technical Launch earlier this year, recent presentations at the Open Science Fair 2025, the OSCARS AAI & Composability Workshop, and the French National Tripartite Event has helped identify user priorities and guide next steps. The latest article on the EOSC EU Node website highlights key insights from these discussions, from user experience and onboarding to documentation, training, and real-world use cases. -Read more about how community feedback is helping shape a more connected and user-driven European Open Science Cloud: https://go.egi.eu/AbEpF

📢 Yannis Ioannidis, former President of the Athena Research Center and current President of the ACM, Association for Computing Machinery, the world’s largest association of computing professionals, announced that, as of January 1, 2026, the ACM Digital Library will be open and freely accessible to all, worldwide. Speaking to the Athens News Agency, Macedonian Press Agency (ANA-MPA), he explained the importance of Open Science for society: “Science is something sacred. Its authentic results are sacred and constitute a societal asset. Science is not a business and cannot become one. Let us not forget that research is primarily funded by society by the taxpayer’s money.” This historic decision was announced from the stage of the 12th Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation reaffirming ACM’s commitment to promoting knowledge as a public good. ➡️ Read the full interview (greek version): https://lnkd.in/dfvm4KUS #AthenaRC #Interviews #OpenScience

How do we move from principles to practice in reforming research assessment? At #OSFair2025 in Geneva, this question took center stage in our workshop “Collaborative Pathways to Responsible Research Assessment via Open Infrastructures.” Hosted by the CoARA - Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment OI4RRA Working Group with partners from #OpenAIRE, #GraspOS and Invest in Open Infrastructure (IOI), the session brought together stakeholders to explore a practical tool: the Open Infrastructure Checklist. Together, we put the checklist to the test with real-world services and infrastructures: MyResearchFolio, #GraspOS Catalogue, and IOI’s Infra Finder, evaluating their readiness to support responsible research assessment (RRA). The result? • A refined checklist • Practical, community-driven recommendations for infrastructure providers • A collective adoption strategy to turn values into practice 🔗Dive into the full recap: https://lnkd.in/d5raThx3 Sarah Lippincott
