System Innovation For Sustainability

Manual harvesting of Chinese potato tubers is labour intensive, time consuming and tedious. An average of 100 female labourers and 20 male labourers are needed to harvest one acre of Chinese potato tubers. To mitigate labour shortages and to reduce harvesting costs, a tractor operated prototype Chinese potato harvester has been designed and developed to harvest the tubers grown in ridge and furrow system. The harvester comprises of a main frame, digging system, discharge system, power transmission system and transport system. It can cover three ridges with a spacing of 30 cm and a depth of operation of 15 cm. The performance evaluation of the developed unit was conducted, and the operational parameters were standardized. The digging unit of the harvester was tested with different treatment combinations of blade geometries viz., inverted V shape, crescent shape and straight type blade at different rake angles of 15, 20 and 25° and at different forward operating speeds of 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 km h-1. The effects due to these parameters were optimized based on performances parameters viz., digging efficiency, per cent damage and fuel consumption by numerical optimization technique. The maximum digging efficiency of 97.28 per cent was noticed for inverted V type digging blade, whereas the lowest of 82.37 per cent was obtained for straight shaped blade. The least percent damage of 3.42 per cent was for the inverted V shape blade and the highest of 9.91 per cent was recorded for straight blade. Among the different types of blade geometry, the maximum (6.24 l h-1) and minimum (4.75 l h-1) fuel consumptions were obtained for straight blade and inverted V shape blade, respectively. The cost per hectare of harvesting using the developed harvester was determined to be ` 18,400/-per hectare compared to ` 1,12,500/for harvesting manually, with a cost savings ` 94,100/-per hectare.

At the modern innovative stage of development, one of the most important directions of management is the development of an effective management system of the organization. The foundations of this system, formed during the administrative-command economy, although they contain valuable experience, are not sufficiently adapted to the market environment. In the conditions of a market economy, the volume and complexity of management functions increase significantly (state support is reduced to a minimum, competition between producers increases, there is a need for marketing, etc.), while the increased role of management implies economic freedom and full responsibility of the organization's management for the results of its activities. Material and component reuse is seen as vital for circularity in construction; but practical adoption remains relatively slow in Sweden. This paper examines how such reuse can catalyse a transition from linear to circular construction. Drawing on sociotechnical concepts in the sustainability transitions theory (multi-level perspective; technological innovation systems; and strategic niche management); it reviews national research on reuse in Sweden. The findings reveal institutional and cultural lock-ins; weak policy incentives; and inadequate market infrastructure; all contributing to stagnation. A cohesive framework is proposed to address these barriers through multi-actor coalitions (e.g., policy bodies; major construction firms; demolition contractors; and environmental NGOs); demonstration projects; digital platforms; regulatory reforms; and strategic public procurement. The study expands the understanding of construction sector's circular transformation and offers guidance on embedding reuse to improve resource efficiency while maintaining performance.

This paper explores regenerative building production as an approach that goes beyond minimising environmental harm to actively generating net-positive socio-ecological impacts. Grounding the discussion in sustainability transitions theory, we highlight how construction significantly contributes to global carbon emissions and waste. Using the phenomena construction methodology, a conceptual framework is proposed to integrate regenerative design principles with sociotechnical perspectives, framing the shift to regeneration as a transitional phenomenon and revealing how multilevel interactions among stakeholders, policies, and niche innovations can drive adoption. Practical steps for clients, designers, contractors, policymakers, and communities include revised procurement models, ecological design solutions, and policy incentives that support deeper collaboration and accountability. The paper underscores that achieving a regenerative transition requires shifting incentives, fostering collaboration, and effecting systemic change across the sector.

Increased harvest is high on the forestry and climate policy agenda in several countries. By carrying out a national-wide survey of forest owners, we explored to what extent private non-industrial forest owners in Norway are willing to increase harvest due to elevated hypothetical prices. The results indicate that owners who have not harvested timber for sale in the last 15 years do not respond to large price shifts. Instead, ownership objectives and knowledge of a key policy instrument predict willingness to enter the timber market among these owners. The willingness among owners who have sold timber the last 15 years depends on these factors, in addition to price, forest area, income, and gender. Female owners were significantly less willing than male owners to increase harvest. orticulture, a vital sub-sector of agriculture, plays a critical role in global food security, nutrition, health and economic development. As global populations rise and consumer demands shift toward more diverse, high-quality and safe food products, the horticulture sector faces increasing pressure to enhance productivity, sustainability and profitability. In recent years, the integration of digital technologies, especially Big Data analytics, has emerged as a powerful enabler for transforming traditional horticultural practices into datadriven, precise and intelligent systems. Big Data refers to large volumes of structured and unstructured data generated from various sources, including sensors, satellite imagery, genomics, weather data, market trends and social media. The ability to collect, store, process and analyze such vast datasets using advanced computational tools enables stakeholders in horticulture-farmers, researchers, agronomists, policymakers and businesses-to make informed decisions that can significantly improve productivity, reduce losses, optimize resource use and ensure sustainability.

Currently, the Dutch pork sector is subject to social and political debate while, at the same time, farmers experience income pressures as a result of volatile commodity markets (De Greef and Casablanca, 2009). As a policy response, the government promotes the development of so-called 'integral sustainable housing systems', which aim at improving different sustainability goals, such as animal welfare, conditions on environment and working conditions (Coenraadts and Cornelissen, 2011, van der Peet et al., 2013). In trying to address the economic feasibility of new housing systems, added-value markets attempt to combine extra requirements in housing systems with higher meat prices. Farmers respond heterogeneously to external pressures, such as policy instruments and market characteristics, depending on farmers' resources, individual characteristics, but also on their peers and their peers' problem definition (Geels and Schot, 2007, Geels, 2009, Dessein and Nevens, 2007). To gain insight into how the government can contribute to a more sustainable pork sector, this research presents an agent-based model for the simulation of market dynamics in the Dutch pork sector over the past 30 years under external change scenarios, with an explicit role for peer influence dynamics.

Tackling grand challenges requires new forms of collaborative innovation to support intricate design processes involving heterogeneous actors. This paper specifically investigates how codesign supports the anchoring of promising novelties into multiple socio-technical systems to accelerate their respective sustainability transitions. A co-design framework adapted to this multi-system context is derived from transition research and design and innovation management research. The framework is validated empirically based on twenty-seven case studies where the novelty to be anchored corresponds to Earth observation data. Contributing to transition research, the paper shows how this multi-system co-design framework provides novelty developers with a diagnostic tool to clarify their anchoring strategy, by framing the relevant actions to conduct at different time horizons. Several enrichments of the anchoring concept are also proposed, highlighting some complementarities between different forms of anchoring and the endless property of the process. Contributing to design and innovation management research, the paper sheds light on co-design in an original perspective by considering a context crossing the usual boundaries of socio-technical systems and focusing on a diagnostic dimension preceding the organisation of collective design sessions. The codesign framework also highlights a so-called "resource-based" form of collaborative innovation aiming to build novelty-based resources for heterogeneous actors facing grand challenges. This approach complements more common "challenge-based" approaches aiming to directly address a targeted challenge.

The need for an information security policy aligned with international standards is emphasized.

Welke concrete veranderingen hebben plaatsgevonden op het werk en welke 21st century skills zijn of worden essentieel om het werk te kunnen blijven uitvoeren? Deze vraag stelden lectoren Petra Biemans (Hogeschool Inholland) en Ellen Sjoer (De Haagse Hogeschool) zichzelf. Het antwoord op deze vraag is te vinden in het boek ‘Werk verandert. 21st century skills in de praktijk'. Spelen onderwijsinstellingen voldoende en tijdig in op de vaardigheden die toekomstbestendige werknemers en ondernemers nodig hebben? Of krijgen studenten zodra ze de arbeidsmarkt betreden een cultuurshock omdat het onderwijs achterblijft? Hoe en welke van de 21st century skills effectief in het onderwijs geimplementeerd kunnen worden vereist volgens de lectoren nog vervolgonderzoek.

In een eerste artikel is de vraag gesteld naar het waarom van de schoolproblemen van leerlingen: zie het artikel: 'Reguliere scholen (1). Systematische valkuilen voor 'risicoleerlingen' veroorzaken ongelijke onderwijskansen én blijvende schoolproblemen'. In een tweede artikel is ingegaan op de vereiste kenmerken van een onderwijsontwerp ter ondervanging van de ongelijke kansen en schoolproblemen: zie het artikel 'Optimaliserend Onderwijs (2). Ontwerp van een systematiek ter realisatie van een optimaliserende schoolloopbaan voor élke leerling'. In dit derde artikel wordt verhelderd hoe dit ontwerp kan worden ontwikkeld in de schoolpraktijk. In dit derde, laatste artikel zijn ook alle referenties opgenomen.

Digital Transformation" is shapeshifting the business world but there are a couple of questions, not the least, what the term exactly stands for and what it implies for companies. How can SMEs, representing almost 49% of revenues and 44% of gross value added in Austria, benefit from it? While large companies have the resources to invest, and small startups are positioned at the heart of digital transformation, SMEs seem to lack both: They have neither the financial and personal resources, nor the agility, to assess the chances and the necessities of digitalization. In this thesis, a common framework is established for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises to provide them with a way to strategically deal with the challenges of digitalization. The digital strategy framework presented is particularly suitable for SMEs. It addresses specifically the question of what a process needs to include to enable the implementation of the strategy afterwards. The framework describes the three-step process (digital reality, digital ambition, digital roadmap) along six relevant dimensions of digitalization. For each step, the relevant actions and results are described. The strategy framework also lists the relevant output of the process. It stresses the importance of easily understandable, visual aids ("digital roadmap") to communicate the strategy (vision, goal, projects). The process and the related elements, as well as the relevant dimensions, where extracted and synthesized from existing frameworks and verified in expert interviews. The expert interviews give insights to questions not answered from the existing frameworks, in particular addressing the results of the strategy process in the form of defined projects and timelines. The digital strategy framework was then presented to four SMEs to validate its usefulness. The framework is of high practical value for any company that starts a digital transformation or needs to coordinate its digitalization initiatives. It is helpful for both SMEs and consultants as a guide in the strategy development.

In the pursuit of strict climate policy targets the German government has decided that several lignite power plants have to be closed down by the year of 2019. One of the most affected regions is the Lusatia mining area in Eastern Germany. Here the question is raised how economic restructuring induced by climate policy can be achieved without bringing havoc on an entire region. We aim to give a first answer by developing a multi-level perspective (MLP) model for supporting regions towards more entrepreneurial activities. Based on different literature streams we suggest a model for strategic niche management towards an entrepreneurial socio-technical regime, which consists of the mid-level in the MLP as the dependent variable and resulting thrusts of strategic niche management as independent variables. The findings are illustrated by the case of Lusatia but are of general nature and can also be applied to other regions.

Value innovation is the cornerstone of blue ocean strategy. Value innovation strategy aims at making competition irrelevant. The concept of value innovation strategy is founded on the belief that a business can make its competitors irrelevant in its decision making while at the same time emerging an industry leader. The purpose of this study is to establish the influence of Value Innovation Strategy on the financial performance of manufacturing firms in Kenya. The target population was 488 manufacturing firms drawn from the 12 categories of the sector in Kenya. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used in this study. The descriptive results indicate that the manufacturing firms in Kenya have implemented value innovation strategies that positively contribute to the financial performance of the firms. To address problems encountered in current potato harvesting machines in hilly and mountainous areas, such as potato damage, poor adaptability, low operational efficiency, and the inability of traditional harvesters to meet the requirements in these areas, a new potato harvester equipped with excavation and a multi-stage separation conveyor was developed by using design and simulation programs as an innovative way to identify the best operating factors. SolidWorks Software was used to design an excavation and a multi-stage separation conveyor. ANSYS Workbench machine static structure analyzed stress, strain, and deformation. The working process of soil and tuber separation was tested and kinematically analyzed by EDEM-RecurDyn and a 5F01M camera. A field experiment was also conducted on the machine under several factors: working speed (W), excavation depth (D), vibration intensity level (V), and conveyor inclination angle (N). The quadratic regression orthogonal rotating combination experiment tested four factors with five levels. The results of the non-load experiment showed that the lowest ratio of impurities was at the linear speed level (Q3, S5, O3) for the first and second separation conveyor and the side conveyor, respectively. The results of the field experiment showed that the optimal parameters were the working speed of 1.05 m/s, the digging depth of 180 mm, and the vibration force Ⅱ inclination angle on the screen surface of 22 degrees, which gave the highest potato lifting rate of 98.8%, and the bruising rate was 1.37%. The damage rate was 1.43%, superior to national industry standards. With its exceptional performance, the machine can effectively meet and solve the challenges of harvesting requirements, making it a valuable tool for the industry.

it onderzoek verkent de Beroepsbegeleidende Leerweg (BBL) in het Nederlandse middelbaar beroepsonderwijs als een professionele leerstructuur. Het onderzoekt de onderliggende krachtenvelden en stelt een visie voor waarin de student een centrale rol speelt in een projectmatig ingericht leerproces. De analyse onthult dat studenten in de huidige BBL-structuur vaak ondergeschikt zijn aan leerbedrijven, onderwijsinstellingen en maatschappelijke verwachtingen. Theoretische grondslagen zijn Kolb's ervaringsleren, Rauner's concept van Beruflichkeit, en Wenger's communities of practice. Door de BBL te beschouwen als een projectstructuur, kan de student worden gepositioneerd als een actieve deelnemer met leerdoelen en verantwoordelijkheden, het leerbedrijf als uitvoerder/leeromgeving, de maatschappij als opdrachtgever, en de onderwijsinstelling als facilitator. Beleidsimplicaties omvatten het herpositioneren van de student als actor, het ontwikkelen van projectmatige samenwerkingsmodellen, en het ontwerpen van evaluatie-instrumenten die zowel leerresultaten als projectoutput meten. Een projectmatige BBL, met de student als actieve deelnemer, kan leiden tot een effectievere en meer relevante leeromgeving.

De milieubeweging lijkt vandaag op een nieuw spoor. Het is niet langer wij tegen zij, niet langer op de barricades of met keĴingen vastgeklonken aan de poorten van een industrieterrein. Het protestmodel hangt in een kadertje aan de muur als herinnering aan vervlogen dagen. Win-winsituaties zijn het nieuwe ordewoord, evenals consumentengedrag, lobbying, multipartijensamenwerking, en vooral niet anti of tegen zijn. Deze heroriëntering komt niet uit de lucht gevallen. Zowel in het beleidsdiscours als in de academische literatuur vinden we soortgelijke tendensen terug. Eén opvallende trend daarbij is de groeiende focus op individuele gedragsverandering als dé ultieme oplossing om de klimaatverandering en andere ecologische problemen tegen te gaan (o.a. . Zoals Professor Tim Jackson (2005) stelt: 'Gedragsverandering is in sneltempo een soort van heilige graal aan het worden wat duurzame ontwikkeling betre ' (p.121). Je hoe niet ver te kijken om vast te stellen dat individuele gedragsverandering een belangrijke focus is van tal van milieubewegingen vandaag. Weer de peer, Blije bloemen of Met belgerinkel naar de winkel, u kent de campagnes wellicht allemaal. Ze moedigen mensen aan in het eigen individuele leven het milieu minder te belasten, door bijvoorbeeld afval te sorteren, biovoeding te kopen of de waterkraan dicht te draaien tijdens het tandenpoetsen. Even opvallend is dat er daarbij de laatste jaren een tendens is om mensen steeds minder aan de hand van kennis tot deze gedragsverandering aan te zeĴen. Meer kennis zou immers niet tot het gewenste resultaat leiden (o.a. Jackson, 2005;. Ondanks een stijgende kennis van de milieuproblematiek blijven heel wat mensen de auto verkiezen boven de trein, gloeilampen boven spaarlampen en hamburgers boven bonen. Daarom verlegde men de voorbije jaren de focus naar andere maatregelen zoals economische stimulansen of marketingtechnieken die het gedrag van mensen op een meer directe wijze beïnvloeden (

Mango (Mangifera indica), known as the "King of Fruits," holds significant economic and cultural importance in India, which leads global mango production, contributing approximately 40% of the total output. Despite this dominance, India's share in global mango exports remains relatively modest due to high domestic demand, logistical challenges, and stringent international trade regulations. This study explores the export value chain of fresh mangoes from India, identifying key stakeholders, cost structures, and value addition at different stages of the supply chain.

This study investigates the effect of YouTube adoption on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) performance in Buloba, Uganda, within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SMEs play a crucial role in Uganda's economic landscape, contributing significantly to employment and GDP. Despite their importance, SMEs face challenges linked to operational deficiencies. The study, employing a descriptive quantitative survey method, reveals that SMEs in Buloba exhibit high overall performance (mean = 3.51), but their adoption of YouTube for marketing purposes is moderate (mean = 2.92). Significant positive correlations are identified between SME performance and specific aspects of YouTube adoption, emphasizing the strategic importance of maintaining an active online presence and engaging with customers. The regression analysis further highlights the substantial contribution of product marketing to SME performance (Beta = 0.255, p = 0.046). Other factors like skilled usage, platform following, customer engagement, and customer ordering do not show statistically significant effects in the model (R 2 = 0.28; F=10.395; p < 0.001). The findings suggest opportunities for improvement in SMEs' YouTube adoption strategies, particularly in product marketing, to enhance overall performance and competitiveness. The study underscores the transformative potential of YouTube for SMEs, emphasizing the need for targeted initiatives to fortify their competitive standing and contribute to sustainable development goals.

Een dik jaar geleden verscheen mijn boek Een veerkrachtige samenleving. Sociaal werk en duurzame ontwikkeling. Sindsdien heb ik op heel wat plaatsen de kans gekregen om daarover van gedachten te wisselen, onder meer in een interview voor Oikos 56 en een mede door Oikos georganiseerd debat in Gent. Dat laatste vormde de basis voor drie discussiebijdragen in Oikos 58. Omdat fundamentele discussies nooit definitief beslecht kunnen worden, wil ik hier graag ingaan op de bijdragen van An De Bisschop en Bart Van Bouchaute. De kern van mijn betoog ligt in de stelling dat de transitie naar een duurzame en rechtvaardige samenleving ook om een transformatie van het politieke vraagt. Maar eerst even terug naar de uitgangsstelling van het boek: de ecologische crisis is tegelijkertijd een sociale crisis. De globale ecologische voetafdruk maakt dat onmiddellijk duidelijk. Die overschrijdt vandaag al met 50 procent (WWF 2010) wat het ecosysteem aarde ons duurzaam kan leveren. Bovendien is dat gebruik van het mondiale ecosysteem zeer ongelijk verdeeld, zowel tussen landen als tussen onderscheiden bevolkingsgroepen binnen die landen. Die crisis is dermate ernstig dat er sowieso serieuze veranderingen zullen plaatsvinden, maar die kunnen zowel ten goede als ten kwade zijn. De uitgangsstelling is daarom dat we er zonder systeemverandering, zonder sociale transitie, niet op een goede manier uitgeraken, noch sociaal, noch ecologisch.

Today many European exporters consider that system of "Halal" standards has made serious barriers for trade with Muslim countries. Thus, our research is focused on analysis of "Halal" food industry development and ways to improve export potential of European countries towards "Halal" certification for food, medicaments and cosmetics that they produce for markets of Muslim countries. Traditionally biggest "Halal" food exporters are non-Muslim countries where exist only Muslim minorities (ethnical groups or immigrants and refugees). Anyhow awareness of consuming Halal food and goods also come from non-Muslims that are caused by safety and freshness of food and higher quality of goods. Thus, essential issue for Ukraine is implementation procedures of governmental control under activity and validation of international accreditation of Ukrainian "Halal" certification centers.

This study focuses on the technical and cost analysis of an electric hand plow tractor, especially in the East Java region. The manufacturing cost of electric tractors increases significantly in line with the battery capacity. Although the manufacturing cost of an electric tractor is 3-5 times higher than that of a fuel tractor, the operational cost of an electric tractor is about 79% that of a fuel tractor. Based on the investment analysis, it is feasible to assembly electric tractors with a power of 5.5 HP or 4.1 kW using NMC18650 and NMC21700 batteries with an energy capacity of 14 kWh in case for rural residents with access to an electricity network available in their paddy fields. The price of electricity and the unit cost of a battery pack have a large impact on operational costs. The manufacture of electric tractors will be more attractive to get better economic returns when the price of electricity does not increase, and the unit cost of battery packs falls due to the battery technology trend. Nevertheless, certain challenges to the utilization of electric tractors are the farmers' preferences and habits, market demands, the environment, and the regulations of the tractor component manufacturers.

When looking at society, we see transformative change happening as
governments, businesses and citizens all try to find their own ways to address the challenges of sustainability. We postulate that these challenges require new radical design approaches and interventions that can unleash the capacity to achieve desired futures, rather than going round in circles and muddling through in our current systems and leaving the underlying challenges untouched. In this conversation, we’ve explored how design can evoke sustainable and just transitions and transformations, with experts working in these fields.

It has gained notable attention in recent decades largely due to the growth of tourism and its associated negative implications to environment and society. Contextualized within the broader framework of sustainability and sustainable development, sustainable tourism is often highlighted as a transformative tool, aiming to shift tourism from a potential agent of depletion to a catalyst for positive change. This entry delves into the relationship between tourism development and sustainability, discussing challenges and barriers hindering the transition to sustainable development. Further, it also discusses the growing concerns related to sustainability and tourism, the relationship between tourism and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while emphasizing the need for cooperation, coordination, and a more holistic approach to address the socioeconomic and environmental concerns related to sustainable tourism.

This article examines the impacts of reflection on the practice of public policy innovation for water management. The reflection is provided for a specific community of practitioners, the professionals involved in an innovation program of the Dutch ministry of Public Works and Water Management. Innovation is perceived necessary for developing and promoting new solutions for the challenges in water management, induced by climate change. Instead of blocking water through technical solutions grounded in civil and hydraulic engineering, alternative approaches such as spatial accommodation of water, building with nature and multi-layered safety must become equally feasible. The community agreed that regular reflection was needed to learn from their experiences. Learning could guide them in changing, and if possible, improving their innovation practice. Action science delivers knowledge based on which intervention can be designed to promote change in a community of practitioners, thus enhancing the community's capacity to learn. Here, the theory of action assumes that reflection will inform change in innovation practice, if perceived necessary by the community of practitioners involved. Reflection was provided during a period of two and a half years. Its impacts were evaluated through indepth interviews with the participating professionals. The needs for reflection were assessed in an ex ante evaluation. The impacts of reflection provided were assessed in two ex durante evaluations and an ex post evaluation. The ex post evaluation indicates an important impact on separate aspects of the individual innovation practice of the professionals involved. The impact on the development of a collective innovation practice is limited but important: the realignment of the program's substantive focus during its implementation. Interpreting the impacts of reflection made clear that reflection helps to identify the possibilities for improvement and guides their targeted implementation in practice.

Together with increasingly saturated and commoditized global markets companies are driven to shift their business focus, adopting a strategy where customer perceived value is in the spotlight, and where products are bundled with services to offer Product-Service Systems (PSS). In this research we study the emergence of PSS solutions in the Chinese market via a selected case study on e-scooters, based on the governmental decision to ban fossil-fuel scooters in the late 90s and how this has spurred both a fossil-to-electric transformation and a product-to-function transformation. As seen in this research PSS is also an approach that is working well in the Eastern society and especially in China, based on governmental policies. It is gradually being adopted and applied in local industries significantly by China's leading internet companies (Didi, Alibaba etc). The PSS concept represented by e-bike cases in China has gradually penetrated into different industries. With governmental decisions as the key turn-point, it can be seen in practice and development that China's related service industry is using e-bike PSS to carry out the new business model from selling e-bikes to providing service-oriented solutions.

This paper describes the formulation of transition pathways for a low carbon (electrical) energy system in the UK. It uses an approach based on earlier work on understanding transitions, using a multi-level perspective with landscape, regime and niche levels, and its application to the development of 'socio-technical scenarios'. The paper describes four outline transition pathways for UK energy systems, based on the co-evolution of governance systems and technologies.

Introduction. In the conditions of constant changes and the implementation of ideas of sustainable development,
almost every teacher should be able to carry out professional activities in an innovative mode. To do this, it
is necessary to immerse pedagogical universities as centers of continuous professional training of teachers
in innovative practice. This practice should reflect the characteristics and prospects for the development of
regional education systems. The purpose of the article is to identify possible mechanisms of interaction between
pedagogical universities and innovation platforms within the educational system of the region.
Materials and methods. Analysis of world experience, taking into account the relationship between the
general, the particular and the individual, the role of context when comparing different cultural and educational
traditions, semi-structured interview, questionnaire, content analysis. The study involved 327 teaching staff
from 23 settlements in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The respondents were teachers of educational organizations
with the status of regional innovation platforms, teachers of a pedagogical university, as well as management
workers from the pedagogical field.
Results. Analysis of the research data showed that the majority of innovation platforms in the Krasnoyarsk
Territory are localized in the regional center and small towns (83%), have a non-linear nature of activity and
are initiated from below (77%), which determines the content of their innovation activities. The vast majority
of regional innovation platforms focus on improving existing educational practices (47%) or cultivating new
examples (34%). Based on empirical research, a model of interaction between regional innovation platforms
and a pedagogical university has been developed, including components: the space of subjects, positions
of professional activity, space of events, independent assessment of professional competencies. Productive
strategies for its implementation have been established.
Conclusion. The obtained research results are of practical significance. Can be used in managing local educational
ecosystems. In the future, it is planned to study the mechanisms of interaction between pedagogical universities
and innovation platforms in terms of joint development and implementation of programs for continuous
professional training of teaching staff.

Introduction. The problem of teachers’ professional development at general education institutions is considered
in various aspects. Tutorship takes a special place in this process. The need for tutorship is especially acute today
since the modern teacher must immediately respond to all changes taking place in the educational system.
And not just react but change the content of education, introduce new teaching methods and technologies,
and respond to metamorphoses in organisational processes and educational environment. Tutorship makes it
possible to organically combine professional development, its personalisation, and at the same time guarantees a
comprehensive approach to any educator.
The purpose of this article is to present an analysis of the substantive aspect of tutorship in the situation of tutors’
professional development in the system of general education.
Materials and methods. A total of approximately 200 teachers from general education organisations of Krasnodar
Region (Russian Federation) took part in the survey. The survey took into account the respondents’ social
characteristics, including service record, nature of support and content of tutorship. The used methods included
modelling, analysis of relevant regulatory documentation, teaching practice, etc.
Results. The research exploring the substantive content of tutorship in the situation of tutors’ professional
development in the system of general education showed that quite a large number of respondents highlighted
the following points: the need to include tutors in the educational system (about 90% of the sample), the need for
systemic support of learners with special needs in the educational system by tutors (supported by more than 80%
of the teachers), insufficient knowledge of the possibilities of tutors’ work in supporting gifted children, etc. The
presented opinions are nowadays actively discussed in the professional pedagogical environment.
Conclusion. According to the present research results with respect to pedagogues’ work, the challenging aspects
of tutor support in the sphere of general education were identified and the possibilities for substantive content of
tutors’ professional development were specified.

Introduction. In modern socio-political and economic conditions, the results of the professional activities of
special and inclusive education teachers are influenced by various key factors, namely, digital competencies
such as information, communication, information security and technological. The study aims to analyze and
evaluate the development of digital competencies of special and inclusive education teachers and their impact
on professional activities.
Materials and methods. The impact of digital competencies on the effectiveness of professional activities of
special education teachers was assessed through content analysis of the results of a questionnaire developed
using Google Forms and of methodological materials provided by respondents. 467 teachers of special and
inclusive education system of various constituent entities of the Russian Federation took part in the study. The
obtained data were processed using Microsoft Excel and IBM SPSS Statistics 23 software. Correlation analysis
was used for statistical data processing.
Results. The survey showed that 2% of respondents with up to 20 years of work experience and 3% of
respondents with more than 20 years of work experience noted a low degree of influence that development
of digital competencies has on the results of professional activities; 59% of respondents with less than 5 years
of work experience rated the degree of such influence as high. Interpretation of the results obtained showed a
certain correlation between the professional activities effectiveness in this category of teachers and formation
of the studied competencies according to such assessment parameters as age, level of education, and period
of professional activity.
Conclusion. Analysis of the results identified a number of patterns indicating the need to create conditions
(material and technical support, opportunities for self-education and professional growth, various forms of
training and internship, etc.) for systematic development of digital competencies among teachers of special
and inclusive education.

This report describes the experiences of six months of 'working with networks'. The networks concerned are those, which have been supported by Wageningen UR through network assistance and knowledge under the Networking in the Livestock Industry research programme. An action-supporting research team has investigated networks as a stimulus for innovation and has developed tools to assist in facilitating them. The report describes these tools and the knowledge arrangements that have been created and makes recommendations for following up the research programme.

The problem and the aim of the study. The development of the teacher's emotional intelligence is both
the direction of improving the teacher training system, and the condition for the social adaptation of young
specialists, and the prevention of emotional burnout syndrome, and a factor in improving the quality of
education in general. Gamification tools allow you to create additional conditions for the formation of
both personal characteristics and professional competencies of digital school mentors. The purpose of the
study is to identify the possibilities of using gamification tools to developing the emotional intelligence of
future teachers as a professionally significant personality property.
Research methods. The methodology is based on the analysis of the potential of digital technologies
with the possibilities of gamification of learning both for the formation of skills and skills components of
emotional intelligence, and the professional qualities of a teacher. The experiment involves 50 bachelors
of the Institute of Mathematics and Information Systems of Vyatka State University (Russian Federation).
Software implementation of game mechanics is performed by the tools of the gaming platform AhaSlides.
To assess the formation of emotional intelligence, the questionnaire of D.V. Lyusin is used. Pearson's chisquared test (χ2
) was used for statistical data processing.
Results. Students of the experimental group in classes in the disciplines "Theory and methodology of
teaching computer science," "Methodology of extracurricular activities in computer science" analyze the
innovative experience of teachers to include game elements in training, study the tools of the game platform
AhaSlides and use them to design an emotionally comfortable gamified environment. The functionality of
AhaSlides for the development of emotional intelligence has been identified: QR code; time limit; hidden
results; interactive presentations with surveys, a cloud of words, open questions. Statistically significant
differences in qualitative changes were revealed as for the total integral indicator (χ2
= 10.445; p < 0.05)
and interpersonal (χ2
= 10.489; p < 0.05), and intrapersonal (χ2
= 9.931; p < 0.05) of emotional intelligence.
In conclusion, factors affecting the effectiveness of the use of gamification tools to form the abilities
that form the basis of the teacher's emotional intelligence are distinguished: temperament properties,
information processing features, range of interests, information literacy, digital skills formation, experience
in participating in gaming events.

Introduction. The urgent need to solve the employment issue for graduates of vocational educational
institutions and for substantial insight into quality of employment, especially on the Russian unstable labor
market, defines the aim of the study: to identify how using information and communication technologies in
their work is related to the quality of graduates’ employment. The work scheme of the study includes both a
complex of technological and psychological characteristics of information and communication technologies and
characteristics of the quality of employment, including indicators of its instability, uncertainty and psychological
well-being in the professional and work sphere.
Materials and methods. The participants were 384 working young people (average age – 24 years, 49.5%
male, 50.5% female); 216 had higher education, and 168 had secondary vocational education. At the time of the
survey, all the participants had no more than three years of work experience after graduating. A special author's
questionnaire was used which operationalized the components of the research design.
Results. The study revealed that such components of employment quality as the opportunity to acquire new
professional knowledge and skills and non-forced employment form an extensive set of connections with
information and communication technologies. Among the aspects of these technologies, the greatest number
of connections with the quality of employment is found in affective-motivational and operational components
of involvement in technology (experiencing positive emotions, interest, pleasure from using them, activity and
consistency in their use), absorption in technology, use of Internet search engines and platforms for video
communication (Spearman's ρ in the range of 0.103–0.344, significance level from p = 0.05 to p = 0.001).
Strengthening these characteristics may increase the quality of graduates’ employment and vice versa.
Conclusion. The results allowed expanding ideas about the employment of Russian graduates. Indicators of
employment quality were proposed; the correlating technological and psychological aspects of information
and communication technologies were established, considered as components of human capital that help the
graduates’ adaptation and professional development on the modern labor market.

Problem and purpose. The general trends of digitalization and its consequences directly affect all levels of the education
system, manifesting themselves in the creation of a digital educational environment, and related significant changes
in the theory and practice of training and education, the introduction of electronic and network didactic tools and
instruments, etc. In this connection, there is a need to develop models and tools for a comprehensive assessment of the
level of digital maturity of a general education organization, allowing to determine the potential, areas and strategies of
digital transformation of general education. The results of such assessment will serve as a source for designing profiles
of the levels of digital maturity of schools, on the basis of which they can determine the deficits and effects of the digital
transformation process.
Purpose of the study: to develop a model and tools for assessing the digital maturity of educational organizations of
general education.
Materials and methods. In developing the digital maturity assessment model for a school, methodological approaches
were used: process, system, qualimetric and a wide range of methods: morphological methods (distinguishing structural
components of the system and their attributes), structuring methods (partitioning the system into hierarchical and matrix
structures), group modelling methods (generating initiatives), synectics method (generating alternatives), methods of
working with information arrays (search, processing, analysis of information), description methods (characterisation of
structural.
Results of the study. This study has systematized the ideas about the degree of study of the issue of "digital maturity"
(hereinafter – DEM) in foreign and domestic Russian scientific publications: the approaches that determine the
understanding of the DEM category have been identified and systematized, the depth of penetration into the essence
of studying the processes of DEM diagnosis and their impact on the digital transformation in individual organizations
has been analyzed.
On the basis of this study, we were able to develop and test a model for the assessment of CP in general education
organizations as a tool of predictive forecasting of general education development in the context of digital transformation.
Analysis of the data obtained during the pilot testing on the overall integral indicator revealed: personnel problems (9%),
problems with infrastructure support (21%) and the digital culture of general education organizations (15%).
Conclusion. It is obvious that optimisation of the processes of digital transformation of general education will have a
qualitative impact on the unified digital educational ecosystem of a modern school, contributing to the creation of new
models based on big data analysis. The results of the study have confirmed that the timely acquisition of information on
digital maturity by school leaders, educational authorities will allow diagnosing existing problems, risks, prospects and
making adequate managerial decisions both with regard to the digital transformation of the general education system
and specific educational organizations.

Introduction. Digital transformation of educational technologies and student teaching methods is
highly relevant for the university education of future media communicators – journalists, public relations
and advertising specialists, since communication professionals actively use the opportunities of digital
environment in their work. The purpose of the present research is identifying the digital competence level
of communication-profile students, their preferences and reaction with respect to the methods of teaching
core disciplines.
Methods. The research was based on the method of scientific generalisation and theoretical analysis of the
Russian and foreign scientific literature in the area of digital transformation of the media sphere, media
education methodology, digitalisation of educational practices. A total of 150 undergraduate (Bachelor degree
course) and graduate (Master degree course) students of the Higher School of Media Communications and
Public Relations of the Institute of Humanities under Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University
(Russian Federation), majoring in “Advertising and public relations in sectoral areas”, “Advertising and public
relations in the international domain”, took part in the survey and the experiment.
Results. Despite the objectively high level of students’ approval of the role and potential of digitalisation of
the educational process, 79.3% of the surveyed students of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University prefer the
training format where the teacher uses innovative technologies; thus one can observe a situation of gradual
introduction of innovative technologies in the educational practice. A low level of the students’ use of up-todate technologies, programmes and services in performance of their assignments was recorded: 6.6% of the
total number of surveyed students used neural networks; 10.7% of the 100% respondents used 3D-modelling
software in their learning activities; 24.7% of the students applied interactive map creation technologies
in the learning process. The priority of incorporating digital technologies in the learning process is largely
focused on teaching the students to work with corporate learning services and platforms of the university. As
a recommendation, the use of in-demand digital technologies for application in the learning process (neural
networks, block designers for generation of multimedia content, interactive map creation services, software
for development of virtual tours, interactive posters, etc.) is proposed and substantiated.
Conclusion. A number of recommendations have been formulated for higher educational institutions,
research and pedagogical staff engaged in professional training of future media specialists, with regard for
the need for more extensive use of digital technologies in the educational process.
