Slam Poetry

Poetry reading remains a largely underexplored area in phonetic research. While previous studies have highlighted its potential and challenges, experimental research in the Spanish context is still limited. This study aims to examine the evolution of Spanish poetry reading over time, focusing on its main prosodic features. Applying the VIP-VSP phonetic model to 40 poetry recordings, we analyzed the organizational and prosodic indices that characterize poetry reading. Mean speech rate, plenus (the ratio of speaking time to pausing), and pitch span emerged as key parameters for capturing change. The results identified two distinct historical phases-first and second radio-television-showing significant effects on speech rate, plenus, and pitch span: speech rate and pitch span increased over time, while plenus decreased. Gender also played a key role, with female voices exhibiting significantly higher values in both pitch span and plenus. Variability and recurring strategies were observed within and across authors. This study confirms that poetry reading has evolved along a 'stylistic-chronological' trajectory, while also reflecting gender-based distinctions. These findings underscore the need for interdisciplinary analytical approaches and diversified classification groupings to fully capture the complexity of this mode of speech.

Literary texts usually capture the social, political, and cultural situation of the era in which they are produced. Scholars can learn about the ideas, attitudes, and issues of diverse historical eras by studying works from different centuries. This aids in comprehending how cultures have changed through time and how literary works have been impacted by historical occurrences. Analyzing literary texts from various ages offers a wealth of possibilities. Researchers can look at how writers respond to the works of their predecessors, how literary traditions evolve over time, and how comparable issues are handled differently in different historical eras. Hence, the researcher tackles two poems from different centuries. Walt Whitman (1819-1892) was an American poet, novelist, and journalist. He was a humanist. He inspired many poets such as Ezra Pound (1885-1972), William Carlos Williams (1883-1963), Simon Ortiz (1941), and Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997). Whitman's poems are notable for their appreciation of the natural world, the human body, democracy, individualism, and the idea that all people are connected. He frequently wrote in a free-form style without following conventional rhyme or meter, using lengthy lines. Walt Whitman had a huge impact on American poetry and literature. Issu d'une anthropologie de la poésie orale réunionnaise, cet article propose une analyse comparative des performances, des discours et de l'iconographie du slam et du fonnkèr, un genre qui s'inscrit dans la tradition orale créole. Leurs branchements linguistiques démontrent l'influence de l'idéologie monolingue qui traverse le slam, produit dans une Francophonie laissant peu de place à la diversité. Ils éclairent aussi des logiques de résistance à l'oeuvre dans le fonnkèr, qui tente de rendre visible la langue créole. Les branchements territoriaux mettent en lumière les opérations mimétiques dont usent l'un et l'autre, dans une négociation entre globalisation et cultures périphériques, fait urbain et écopoétique, modernité et historicisation de la créolité. Ces deux genres témoignent des rapports de force qui traversent la société réunionnaise, dont le passé colonial continue à orienter les agencements entre tendances hégémoniques et ouverture à la pluralité.

بعبارة أخرى، تَنشد الأطروحة البحث عن معالم لخطوط فِكرية تحاول كسر الجمود السياسي، من خلال الخروج عن المألوف أو ما هو تقليدي. لا يُمثل هذا الخروج خروجاً عن تعاليم الإسلام كدين موحى بصفائه ونقائه، بل يُمثل خروجاً عن التاريخ السياسي الذي صار ديناً يوازي تلك التعاليم النَقية، التي أضحت بها شرعية النظام السياسي مرتبطة بعادات أبوية لا تمت للقيم الإسلامية بصلة، لتطرق هذه الأطروحة باب الاجتهاد السياسي في محاولة الخروج من الأزمة السياسية للحضارة العربية والإسلامية.

Resumo: O artigo tem o objetivo de analisar a configuração romanesca de Herança (1992), de Hilda Magalhães, na tentativa de compreender a posição assumida pela narradora quanto aos elementos multifacetados da festividade carnavalesca. De modo bastante particular, observa-se como a narradora carrega em si a ambiguidade presente na figura do clown, revelando uma subjetividade fragmentada em virtude de seu modo de trabalhar a matéria narrada, a saber, a construção do próprio romance. Sendo assim, tem fundamento teórico nos estudos desenvolvidos no âmbito da crítica literária produzida em Mato Grosso Reis, 2008; Castrillon-Mendes, 2020) com vistas ao aprofundamento da constituição do cânone no Estado.

This study endeavors to analyze Taufiq Rafat's poem Wedding in the Flood in the light of feminist theory. Feminist literary theory is difficult to define because feminism itself is difficult to define. The term feminism does not claim to account for all women's experiences in exactly the same way because women have different experiences based on race, religion, sexual orientation, class, age, heritage, geographical location, physical appearance, etc. There is great diversity within feminism. However, this study shows how the women are easily suppressed, subjugated, and marginalized in the name of traditions and customs made by the male-dominating society to control the women. The whole poem revolves around a bride and elements like dowry. So, the main aim of this research is to find out to what extent Taufiq Rafat's poem Wedding in the Flood corresponds to the principles of feminism in a patriarchal society.

al-Salwa fī Shurūṭ al-Khalwa is a work by one of the mystics of the Kubrawīyya order on the subject of seclusion (khalwa). Seclusion was among the most important principles of practice for followers of this spiritual order (ṭarīqa), and several of them authored treatises explicitly entitled "on retreat," or wrote books whose central theme was retreat and seclusion. Examples include Najm al-Dīn Kubrā's fi al-Khalwa, Sayf al-Dīn Bākharzī's Waqāyi‛ al-Khalwa, and Majd al-Dīn Baghdādī's fi al-Khalwa wa al-‛Uzla. Similar treatises by ‛Alāʾ al-Dawla Simnānī, ‛Abd al-Raḥmān Isfarāyinī, and others also exist under these or similar titles. al-Salwa fī Shurūṭ al-Khalwa and some of these other treatises were written in Arabic. Drawing on various manuscript copies of this work, the author of this article seeks to provide a clear picture of the book and its author, and for the first time introduces this work, which contains significant information about the spiritual leaders of the Kubrawīyya, their relationship with disciples, and their practices of seclusion. This study also reveals that the translator of the Risāla ilā al-Hāʾim al-Khāʾif min Lawmat al-Lāʾim, previously published, is in fact the author of this same book, al-Salwa fī Shurūṭ al-Khalwa.

O objetivo deste artigo é analisar como a literatura brasileira contemporânea tem sido impactada pelas poéticas periféricas que emergem por meio dos saraus. Os saraus periféricos de Salvador trouxeram para o centro da cena literária espaços e sujeitos anteriormente marginalizados, que não eram vistos como protagonistas na literatura. A partir desse movimento, questões sobre o status do literário começaram a ser levantadas por escritores e críticos. Como essa inserção transformou a literatura contemporânea no século XXI? Nos últimos anos, a cidade tem vivenciado um fluxo criativo literário sem precedentes, impulsionado pela disseminação dos saraus nas periferias. Essas iniciativas culturais, surgidas da mobilização coletiva dos sujeitos periféricos, têm reconfigurado a literatura contemporânea soteropolitana desde os anos 2000. Espaços e vozes marginalizados ganham protagonismo, contribuindo para uma literatura brasileira mais plural, dinâmica e inclusiva. Os saraus, e posteriormente, os slams, trazem à tona novas formas de criação e apreciação poética, onde corpo, performance e o público tornam-se elementos essenciais. A presença do público, neste contexto, não é apenas acessória, mas funciona como um termômetro que influencia diretamente a criação do poeta, transformando a relação entre autor e obra. Para a elaboração deste artigo, optou-se por uma abordagem qualitativa, que possibilita um exame aprofundado da prática da poesia oral e de sua relevância no contexto da poesia periférica contemporânea. Além disso, a pesquisa será respaldada por uma revisão bibliográfica de autores como Garramuño (2014a), Tennina (2017) e Paz (2022), e complementada por uma pesquisa de caráter etnográfico. Adoto uma perspectiva etnográfica.

O objetivo é apresentar o coletivo Manifesto Crespo, abordando algumas de suas produções e a maneira como elas se relacionam às interfaces e potencialidades crítico-epistêmicas da arte enquanto instrumento de subversão, renovação e reinvenção que possibilita a produção de narrativas e projetos de mundo diversos, oportunizando uma mudança macro e micropolítica. O foco de interesse e convergência da entrevista são as práticas de arte nos espaços públicos, demonstrando que nestes gestos criativos e ativistas, e sobretudo, pautados em uma produção comunitária, o coletivo inverte o sentido colonial das práticas de apropriação (que foram e são utilizadas pelo pensamento hegemônico, eurocêntrico, eugenista, cisheteronormartivo, entre outros) e reinventam suas próprias formas de reapropriação a partir da sua potencialidade de produção artística.

This study (The Absolute of Shadow: Theodicy in Imre Kertész’s Work) attempts to establish a connection between some of Kertész’s writings and the religious reflections on the Shoah echoing (at times polemically) the writer’s thinking and poetics.

Dos Estados Unidos para o mundo, as competições de poetry slam estabelecem regras para apresentações  de  poesia  falada  e  dinamizam  um  circuito  internacional  que  proporciona  encontros  entre  poetas  de  distintas  realidades.  O  presente  artigo  toma  a  competição  moçambicana Moz Slam para apresentar e discutir as dinâmicas de produção, circulação e recepção deste formato da poesia falada que vem ganhando adesão, sobretudo, entre jovens artistas. O artigo destaca a presença de mulheres no Moz Slam e no Slam da Guilhermina durante os slams online em tempos de Pandemia e baseia-se em entrevistas realizadas em Maputo  com  poetas  e  produtores  culturais  envolvidos  na  cena  slam  moçambicana  e  no  monitoramento das redes sociais destes eventos desde 2018.

A tanulmány magyar nyelvű slam poetry szövegek megértését, befogadását, a slammerek és a
befogadók közötti interszubjektív viszony kialakulását vizsgálja funkcionális kognitív keretben.
A bemutatandó kutatási eredmények egy hosszabb, több éves kutatás részfolyamatát képviselik,
amelyet a szerzők az ELTE Stíluskutató csoportjában végeznek kifejezetten magyar nyelvű
slam poetry szövegeken.
A korpuszt a Stíluskutató csoport által összeállított Lírakorpusz egy alkorpusza, a slam
poetry alkorpusz (összesen 108 előadás felvétele, illetve leirata) biztosítja, amelyből a jelen
tanulmány két slamszöveggel kapcsolatos vizsgálatot mutat be. A szerzők empirikus felmérést
végeztek egyetemi hallgatók körében a kiválasztott két szöveggel kapcsolatban: a vizsgálat
egyfelől épít a témában korábban végzett kutatásaikra (Sólyom 2022, Sólyom–Pap 2021, 2023,
Pap–Sólyom 2024), másfelől viszont továbblépést is jelent a korábbi eredményekre alapozva
és az új eredmények elemzésének segítségével.

A poetry slam is, by its simplest definition, a format for a live competition of performance poetry which has now spread throughout the world. The contest has four basic rules: the poets must be the authors of the texts they perform; they may not use music, costumes nor props; they have a maximum of three minutes; and a popular, random jury is asked to evaluate the performances. Poetry slam, however, is not just a competition: it is a show, it is the making of a live anthology, in which poets consciously use their voice and body. According to the Princeton Encyclopedia of Poetry and Poetics, it is "a site for the ritual enactment of communitas" (Hoffman 2012, 1070). As Julia Novak pointed out, while a printed book provides for a communicative relationship with the reader even centuries after it was written, live poetry "is characterized by the direct encounter and physical co-presence of poet-performer and audience" in the hic et nunc of the event, from which results the simultaneous and collective dimension of the production and reception of poetry (2011, 174). In live poetry, the spatiotemporal conditions and social frame in which the performance takes place are crucial to the construction of meaning. Poetry slam, as a complex and multilayered artistic as well as social phenomenon, calls for the search for hermeneutic tools that are not only originated from literary studies but also enable the investigation of the context of these kinds of events and the resulting dynamics of audience reception. In Italy, where I have personally been involved in the slam community since 2017 as a slammer, organizer, and spectator, the movement started in 2001 but has expanded in popularity during the last few years. For this reason, it is still the case that a regular patron of a public house may one day spot, at the pub entrance, a poster that reads "Poetry slam night." They step inside and notice a stranger standing at the back of the room, brandishing a microphone and interacting with the crowd of people that has formed around the performer and their makeshift stage. At which point, the pub regular might ask themselves: "What is it that's going on here?". In his book Frame Analysis, the sociologist Erving Goffman places this question at the heart of his research, his objective being to highlight the elements of prior agreement shared by participants in an activity. These allow for an intersubjective interpretation of what is happening. Exploring the poetry slam scene from the sociological perspective of Erving Goffman's frame analysis will help us provide a more comprehensive answer than what our pub patron might find on Wikipedia Open Access.

Este ensaio busca partilhar uma experiência etnográfica relacionada às batalhas poéticas denominadas slam. Nele, misturam-se minhas vivências enquanto pesquisadora negra e migrante, no estado do Rio de Janeiro, com a produção intelectual de mulheres negras construída, principalmente, nas ruas, questionando constantemente um lugar “enclausurado” e embranquecido de produção de conhecimento. Defendo que, as poesias faladas, movidas dentro e a partir da realidade vivida, serão lidas como geradoras de conhecimento e produtoras de imagens do mundo, recebendo o status epistêmico que possuem dentro do campo, bem como evocarão uma reflexão sobre a produção e trajetória de intelectuais negras no cenário acadêmico.

D'accordo, siamo entrati nell' era della connessione. Ma effettivamente come si connette la gente? Di sicuro è una questione che va divisa perlomeno in due parti. La prima riguarda un' enorme e complessa infrastruttura tecnologica per le comunicazioni multimediali mobili e connesse a internet. La seconda chiama in causa collettività umane, comunità, amici, famigliari e amanti che, si suppone, vogliono mettersi in contatto tra loro. In questo numero indaghiamo, attraverso il caso dei telefoni cellulari, le promesse e le illusioni della connessione, la sua ideologia e le sue pratiche, così come la sua influenza nel discorso pubblico. Nonostante la diversità che caratterizza i contributi raccolti, sembra emergere un Leitmotiv: per capire i telefonini, gli smartphone e altri dispositivi simili, dobbiamo considerare le due parti della questione anticipate sopra, la tecnologia e le persone -in altre parole, la "costituzione mista" della comunicazione. Dopo una visione d'insieme proposta da Mubi, in cui vengono presentati alcuni recenti filoni di ricerca sulla comunicazione mobile, Janey Gordon riflette su come in così pochi anni il telefono cellulare sia diventato un dispositivo di comunicazione dominante, utilizzato dalle persone nei più diversi modi. Alcuni di queste modalità vengono poi esemplificate da Nathan Eagle, il cui contributo si dipana attraverso una narrazione biografica dei progetti di ricerca e sviluppo di cui ha fatto parte. Gli articoli successivi, rispettivamente di Francesco Pisanu, Sunil Manghani e Isacco Turina, si concentrano sull'uso del servizio SMS nella telefonia mobile. Mentre Pisanu critica gli approcci riduzionisti alla tecnologia e Manghani, attraverso la nozione foucaultiana di "gestione del sé", mette a fuoco gli effetti dello scambio di SMS nelle relazioni intime, Turina avanza una riflessione originale sull'uso che dei telefonini fanno gli eremiti contemporanei in Italia. Arianna Bassoli presenta poi un progetto artistico che esplora l'uso del telefono cellulare nella metropolitana di Londra. Il progetto ha implicato la creazione di un archivio di brani condivisibili via connessione wireless. In questo senso, Miya Yoshida presenta un progetto artistico dai connotati anche più apertamente politicizzati, Phone Wars, uno studio sul "lato invisibile" coloniale della comunicazione mobile. In questa vena, il contributo di Peter Schaefer indaga questioni legate ai concetti di dominio e potere online, mentre Maurizo Teli analizza come i lavoratori della conoscenza, o cognitari/e, possano attuare delle azioni di resistenza creando e sostenendo degli spazi di dis-connessione. Come mostrano gli articoli di Davide Bennato e Camilla Rossi, tali riflessioni non riguardano solo i telefoni cellulari, ma più in generale la condizione dell' "essere connessi/e". Bennato suggerisce che la diversità fra i vari siti di social networking fa sì che le persone che li usano li percepiscano metaforicamente come spazi sociali diversamente declinati, mentre il pezzo di Rossi mette in guardia dalle interpretazioni riduzioniste sugli effetti della società connessa. Infine, Alvise Mattozzi invita ad apprezzare la materialità degli artefatti tecnologici, descrivendo i vantaggi euristici di un metodo basato sulla "biografia degli oggetti" applicato ai telefoni cellulari. Invece di un singolo artista ospite, in questo numero abbiamo una curatrice delle immagini, Miya Yoshida, la quale, come leggerete nella sua nota curatoriale "World in Hand", ha selezionato immagini di una serie di artisti contemporanei che lavorano su temi legati alla comunicazione mobile. Esta proposta de encerramento do evento chama para uma discussão única todos os autores e interessados no tema. Antes que trazer conclusões, trazemos pontos para reflexão. O termo ciberbullying tem sido usado para distinguir o bullying realizado diretamente entre as pessoas do bullying mediado por computadores em rede. Com base na teoria semiótica, vamos discutir a relação entre os dois termos tendo em vista lançar algumas luzes sobre essa diferenciação e possíveis consequências práticas do uso dos dois termos em relação à construção do sujeito na sociedade atual. Trata-se de refletir, portanto: até que ponto o bullying e o ciberbullying são problemas diferentes? O UEADSL-pós foi criado com um tema específico: Ciberbullying. Estranho isso vindo de alguém que sempre tomou por premissa que o mundo virtual é falácia: o mundo online é o que é porque as mesmas pessoas que se relacionam fora dele são as que se relacionam nele.

A dolgozat célja Kosztolányi Dezső Boldog, szomorú dal című verse szövegtani elemzésének elvégzése. A dolgozat arra a kérdésre igyekszik választ találni, hogy csupán a szövegtani elemzés segítségével kialakítható-e olyan értelmezési stratégia, amely hozzásegíti a középiskolai tanulókat egy irodalmi szöveg jobb megértéséhez. A dolgozat először megvizsgálja a vers szemantikai, szintaktikai és pragmatikai koherenciáját. A makroszerkezet vizsgálatát követi a mikroszerkezet elemzése, mely után a szövegkonnexitás szövegben megjelenő grammatikai eszközeinek számbavétele következik. A kísérlet arra az eredményre jut, hogy a szövegtani elemzés eszközeivel lehetséges elvégezni egy irodalmi szöveg olyan értelmezését középfokú szinten, mely egybeesik az irodalomtanításban használt tankönyvek értelmezésével. The main goal is to see if it is possible to construct an interpretational strategy with the exclusive use of text linguistics to assist secondary-school pupils to a better understanding of a literary work. The first part examines the semantic, syntactic and pragmatic coherence of the poem. The examination of the macrostructure is followed by an examination of the microstructure, which is then followed by a list and analysis of the grammatical markers of textual coherence. The present study proves that it is possible to come to an interpretation of a literary text which coincides with secondary-school textbooks, using the terminology and methods of text linguistics only.

Para averiguar as questões de vocação e ambição em torno da música na era capitalista, partiu-se do conceito de Indústria Cultural, desenvolvida por Adorno e Horkheimer (2002). Como metodologia, tem-se a pesquisa bibliográfica, que se desenvolve pela averiguação e estudo de materiais já elaborados e discutidos anteriormente. Desse modo, inferiu-se que o conto machadiano continua extremamente atual, visto que trata sobre temas universais como o fazer artístico, o sucesso, a fama, a vocação e a ambição. Apesar do reconhecimento, na legislação brasileira, da Língua Brasileira de Sinais (Libras) como a língua das pessoas surdas no Brasil, ainda persiste uma suposta superioridade atribuída às línguas orais, subtraindo o status linguístico das de modalidade visual espacial, como Libras, em decorrência dos preconceitos enraizados historicamente em relação às Línguas de Sinais e aos surdos. Nesse sentido, persevera-se uma visão da medicalização da surdez, a qual impõe a obrigatoriedade de a pessoa surda ser submetida aos processos de oralização, com treinamento da fala e da leitura labial, reduzindo seu direito linguístico de ter acesso à Libras, como primeira língua, e o português, na modalidade escrita, como segunda, conforme previsto em lei. Discutir o papel fulcral da Língua de Sinais para o desenvolvimento dos sujeitos surdos, para estabelecerem uma relação de pertencimento como ser surdo, desconstruindo os pilares que dão sustentação à imposição de uma modalidade monolítica de língua, são os objetivos principais do presente texto.

I telefoni cellulari sono parte integrante della vita e stile di vita dei giovani. Il focus di questo lavoro è l'uso dei telefoni cellulari come strumento per migliorare l'innovazione educativa nelle scuole elementari e con particolare riguardo alle diversabilità, preparando così i nostri studenti per il mondo di oggi. This will be an area of major research interest and activity in the coming years. Statistics confirm, in fact, that mobile phones are a common accessory among primary school children. Mobile phones are an integral part of the life and lifestyle of young people. The focus of this paper is the use of mobile phones as a tool to improve educational innovation in primary schools and particularly regarding disabled students, hence preparing our students for the world of today.

In this article, I discuss my multimodal dissertation to examine how four young adults remember a youth poetry slam as a site of healing, growth, and spirituality. I argue for critical spiritual literacies (Johnson, 2022) as an embodied, multimodal set of antiracist teaching practices that center the human spirit in literacy education. Data in this study include audio recordings of original poetry performances, semi-structured interviews, and focus groups. Audio samples combined with musical elements were remixed into Hip Hop-inspired praisesongs (Dillard, 2011) to document the spiritual experiences of participants. These co-produced songs are excerpted and discussed as research texts that reflect spiritual meaning-making processes. Findings reveal that knowledge of self, communal healing, service to others, and transcendence are critical characteristics of spiritual literacies. Lastly, I discuss implications for centering spirituality through Hip Hop and spoken word pedagogy in the secondary English Language Arts classroom.

Szőcs Géza költői életművében külön csoportba tartoznak azok a versek, amelyekben az idő sajátos felfogása jelenik meg. Számos darabban az idő térszerűvé válik, vagyis az idő fölveszi a tér sajátos jegyeit. Egyik korai példája ennek az időkezelésnek Az az idegesítő, állandó kopácsolás című vers, amely Szőcs egyik legjellemzőbb tér-idő verse, ahol az idő térként való leképezésének lehetünk tanúi: térként viselkedik az idő, amennyiben vissza lehet ereszkedni vagy át lehet menni egy másik évbe, mintha az egy barlangban, pincében vagy a szomszédban volna. Az Ady Bustyánál az idő térben való jelenlétét ellentétes irányban mutatja be: nem a jelenből szállnak le a múltba, hanem a múltból emelkedhetnek a jelenbe. Egy jóval későbbi, 2012-ben keletkezett versben, az Ál-dalok búval, vigalommal címűben nemcsak a múltba, de a jövőbe is ellátogat a megszólaló, az idő tereiben keresve múltbéli és jövőbeli énjét. A Harmadik levélrészlet és a Negyedik levélrészlet című versekben még inkább explicitnek mondható az éntöbbszöröző gesztus, a lírai én többes elhelyezkedése. Végül A szelf című versben nem egyszerűen a többes ének találkozásáról vagy beszélgetéséről van szó (amiről első megközelítésben a vers „szól”), és nem is csak az emberben egész élete során jelen lévő én, ösztön-én és felettes én együttességéről (ami a korábbi vers jelentéstartományának bevonásával történik), hanem az egyes én többessége nyelvi eredetének és nyelvi megvalósulásának poétikai kiterjesztéséről.

Tracing the development of non-lyric traditions in American poetry, the author investigates ways the poet disappears from the poem while poetic form is seriously destabilized. Two fundamental "alternatives to the egoposition," as Charles Olson writes in Mayan Letters (83), are identified: the poetics of attention on the one hand, and concrete poetry and language writing on the other. In nineteenth-and twentieth-century poetries of attention, the ego becomes an organ responding to experience, turning the creative self into an attentive mind that opens itself unto the world. Twentieth-century concrete poetry eliminates the self-expressive firstperson subject while allowing the language material to take the place of the subject. The radicalization of American poetry culminates in language writing, which places the creative process under the control of language, thereby doing away with the self that formerly gave cohesion to the text, and allowing language, as opposed to meter and prosody, to perform a central structuring function. Conducting close prosodic and grammetrical readings, the author demonstrates that in all these poetries-whether attention is directed to the world or to the word-the elimination of the lyrical self goes hand in hand with the disruption of regular poetic form. A tanulmány az amerikai költészetnek azt a hagyományát követi nyomon, amelyből jószerivel eltűnt a személyesen lírai hang. Ez a vonulat megfordította a költészetek sokfelé máig uralkodó hagyományát, az önkifejező és önkimondó versek hagyományát, amelyben a megszólaló lírai hang általában egyes szám első személyben reflektál önmagára – önmagára mint lírai-grammatikai konstrukcióra vagy önmagára mint valóságos, tapasztalati énre. A szerző az énmegvonás négy módozatát tárgyalja az amerikai költészetben: az Emily Dickinson nevéhez köthető figyelemköltészetet, az imagista figyelemköltészetet, a konkrét verset és a nyelvköltészetet, amelyek az elmúlt bő másfél évszázadban egymásra épülve és egymást felerősítve léptek színre. Ez a hagyomány a költeményt szervező alany önkifejezése, a megszólalás előtt létező én önreflexiója helyett az én következetes megvonását választja. Ezek a poétikai kísérletek nemcsak lehalkítják az én hangját, és gyakran emberi jelenlét nélküli világra reflektálnak, de a verset a nyelv felé tolják, szinte beletolják a nyelvbe. Mindeközben folyamatosan radikalizálják a versformát.

A személyesség és a személytelenség különös dinamikája Szőcs Géza költészetének egyik jellemzője. És bár a személyességet ellenpontozó személytelenítés egyre hangsúlyosabb megjelenése általánosságban tetten érhető a későmodern magyar lírában, kezdve Szabó Lőrinccel, majd kiteljesedve Pilinszky János és Nemes Nagy Ágnes életművében, Szőcs a személytelenítés eszközeit tekintve számos újítással tér el elődeitől és kortársaitól, így ezen a téren egyedisége megkérdőjelezhetetlen. Három olyan költői eszközt tárgyal a szerző, melyek – miközben a későmodern elszemélytelenítési hagyományhoz való illeszkedés jelei – egyértelműen Szőcs újító leleményeinek tekinthetők. Ezek az alapvetően nyelvi eszközök rendre a leginkább személyesnek érzett alkalmakkor, a nagy érzelmi terhet hordozó lírai szöveghelyeken lépnek működésbe, távolítva az ént a szöveg aktusától, egyúttal a szöveg által teremtett tiszta nyelvi konstrukcióvá alakítva a lírai szubjektumot. A három eszköz a hangzásdúsítás, a nyelvváltás és a fantasztikumba való átlépés, amelyek különösen a személyes tematikájú versekben – így szerelmi és politikai lírájában – érhetők tetten.

Szőcs Géza életművéről elmondható, hogy annak egészében fellelhető a személyes hangvétel éppúgy, mint a tárgyias szemlélet. Ha ezt a kijelentést pontosítani kívánjuk, akkor nagyjából az első nagy írói korszakában, vagyis a nyolcvanas évek végéig született darabokban mutathatunk ki nagyobb fokú – igaz, mindig kontrollált – személyességet, míg a másodikban, vagyis a kilencvenes évektől keletkezett versekben azonosíthatjuk nagyobb gyakorisággal az elszemélytelenítő objektiváció formáit. A „személytelenítés jelzései” (Kulcsár Szabó Ernő) közé sorolhatjuk a performativitást és a zeneiséget, amely a nyelv saját eszközeivel teszi személytelenné a poétikai megnyilatkozásokat; továbbá a kifelé utalásokat, amelyek segítségével a referencialitás cölöpjei jelölik ki a beszélő alany és a megszólított tárgy pozícióit, egyszerre stabilizálva és destabilizálva a valóságra kiutaló, majd onnan visszareflektáló fiktív szereplők individuumát. Az én elszemélytelenítésének számos egyéb formáját is felfedezhetjük Szőcsnél, kezdve az egyes/egységes én egymással dialógusra képes énekké történő megtöbbszöröződésével, a valóságost abszurdizáló technikákon és a távolító képi tárgyiasításon át egészen a nyelv átlátszatlan voltát hangsúlyozó nyelvköltészetig.

Jelen kötet az irodalomtudomány egyik izgalmas területét tárja fel, betekintést nyújtva – amerikai versanyagon – a nem alanyi költészet néhány módozatába. A tárgyalt költői művek a lírai alany tekintetében különböznek a jóval gyakoribb alanyi költészettől: az alany befelé forduló figyelmétől vezérelt versekkel ellentétben az én távolítása, gyengítése vagy teljes megvonása jellemzi őket. „Nehéz” versekről van szó, mert az alanyi költészeten nevelkedett olvasót új, sosem tanult értelmezési kérdésekkel állítják szembe, elvárva, hogy ne világértelmezésként vagy a lírai én számvetéseként olvassa a szövegeket, hanem az éntől távolított megfigyelésekként, a nyelvben őrzött tudásnak az én következetes megvonásával láthatóvá tett lenyomataiként, illetve akár nyelvi játékokként.

In her poetry and slam poetry, Rachel Wiley draws attention to her various intersecting identities as a “Feminist, Queer, Fat, Mixed Femme Girl” and, through her words, presents societal critiques and imagines better futures. She calls herself a “full body intersection.” The flexibility within this term provides a tool to think in relation to intersectionality (and its interlocking
systems of oppression) but to also think through the ways in which Wiley’s body of work consistently interacts with cultural forces, critiques of poetics, and the physicality of performing on a stage with an ever-watching audience. Moreover, her work elucidates how a full body intersection involves not just the materiality and physicality of the body, it also remains intertwined with visibility, the readings of others, and larger systems of categorical policing. I argue that Rachel Wiley’s poetry, in particular a pointed poem such as “For Nicholas Who Is So Concerned,” presents an opportunity for counterhegemonic struggle through fat positivity via considerations of hyper(in)visibility and an articulation of marginalized existence. In illuminating hidden or overlooked systems of oppression and transforming this discrimination into a pressing issue of concern within the larger community, Wiley’s work is the force we need in creating counter-hegemonic stories and dismantling oppressive structures.

This paper focuses on person-marking constructions in Hungarian slam poetry in a functional cognitive framework. With the help of the Slam Poetry subcorpus elaborated by ELTE’s Research Group in Stylistics, person-marking constructions for expressing the speakers in the texts (first person singular and plural verbs) are annotated in the subcorpus. We assume that based on the phenomenon of foregrounding (van Peer–Hakemulder 2006), the role of intersubjectivity increases as these 1st person singular and plural forms help
focus on the protagonist, the slammer (Holt–Groeben 2005, Langacker 2008). The utterances are analysed according to speech act theory, based on the functions of social actions (Tátrai 2011: 89–90). The research question aims to determine the types of prototypical semantic and communicative patterns which can be identified in the analysed texts. The results of the analysis 1) show the proportion of first person singular and plural verbs in the subcorpus, 2) help observe those linguistic tools, grammatical, pragmatic and semantic patterns and socio-cultural factors which can play a role in the direction of listeners’ attention, as well as the typical topics on which attention is focused.

RESUMO: Este artigo tem por objetivo principal analisar a constituição do éthos de Sérgio Vaz em Flores da Batalha (2023), compreendendo-a dentro da trajetória editorial do poeta. Dessa forma, a análise perpassa outras obras do autor, como Colecionador de Pedras (2011), Literatura, pão e poesia (2011) e Flores de Alvenaria (2016). Além disso, a partir da abordagem comparatista, busca-se iluminar aspectos intertextuais e interdiscursivos de sua composição, que sustentam a caracterização do orador.

A tanulmány célja négy passzív jelentésű konstrukció: a V-ódik/-ődik, a V-(t)atik/-(t)etik, a V-va/-ve lesz és a V-va/-ve van konstrukció produktivitásának korpuszalapú vizsgálata. A kutatás az MNSZ2, valamint az újraannotált MNSZ2-UD korpuszokon végzett gépi és kézi elemzéseken alapul, és a kvantitatív keretben meghatározható globális produktivitási indexet (vö. Baayen 1992) kvalitatív elemekkel ötvözi. A globális produktivitási index mérése egy, a használatalapú nyelvészetben gyakran alkalmazott módszer, mely a konstrukciós sémák típus- és példánygyakoriságának, valamint a sémákkal képzett hapax legomenonok számának segítségével számítható ki. A vizsgálat kvalitatív része az egyes sémák produktív jelentését leginkább tükröző hapaxokból nyert minta igenemek szerinti besorolására irányult.
A vizsgálat eredményei azt mutatják, hogy a korpusz egészében a legnagyobb globális produktivitással rendelkező séma a V-va/-ve van konstrukció, a legnagyobb típusgyakorisággal a V-ódik/-ődik, míg a legnagyobb potenciális produktivitással a V-va/-ve lesz rendelkezik; az egyes alkorpuszokra vonatkozó eredmények ettől részben eltérnek. A hapaxokból nyert véletlenszerű minta elemzése alapján a legstabilabban passzív jelentésű séma a rendkívül alacsony produktivitású V-tatik/-tetik konstrukció, ezt szorosan követi a V-va/-ve lesz, a túlnyomórészt passzív jelentésű a V-va/-ve van, és a hapaxok kevesebb mint felében találunk passzív jelentést a V-ódik/-ődik esetében. A tanulmány további, elméleti és metodológiai megfontolásokat is tartalmaz.

Jelen tanulmány az igekötő és főnévi igenév közé való beférkőzés kollostrukciós vizsgálatát mutatja be. A kolexémaelemzés az egyes lexémák korpuszbeli gyakoriságához viszonyítva állapítja meg a vizsgált konstrukcióval való asszociáltság mértékét, és hozzájárulhat a konstrukció alapjelentésének leírásához. A beférkőzést a szakirodalom a segédigei funkcionálás formailag jól megragadható aspektusaként azonosítja. Vizsgálatunkkal azt kívántuk feltárni, hogy a vizsgált korpusz igéi közül melyek mutatják jellemzően ezt a viselkedést, mivel ez indikátora lehet ezen igék segédigei jellegének.
A korpuszvizsgálat összesen hét statisztikailag szignifikáns mértékben vonzott igét állapított meg, melyek jelentése modális és temporális jellegű. A hét ige szinte teljes egyezést mutat a központi segédigéknek Tolcsvai Nagy (2009) által szemantikai és grammatikalizációs alapon kiemelt listájával. A vonzott lexémák köréből kizárt igék között is vannak olyanok, amelyek adatai gyakori beférkőző használatot mutatnak, ezek további vizsgálatokat igényelnek.

Este artigo constitui um relato acerca de experiencias de uso da internet nas aulas de lingua portuguesa, tendo como base os estudos acerca dos generos digitais enquanto conteudos a serem trabalhados em uma perspectiva significativa para estudantes e professores de uma escola da rede publica de ensino no municipio de Sao Bernardo do Maranhao. Tem como base teorica os pressupostos de Bakhtin (2003), Castels (2004), Rojo (2012), Marcuschi (2005) e Xavier (2005). A discussao dos resultados foi embasada nos pressupostos de Bottcher (2002), Lopez, Dagmar e Aide (2012), verificando-se o papel da internet enquanto vies a trabalhar os novos generos digitais e a impingir significados ao ensino da lingua portuguesa. Partindo da compreensão da literatura como um fato social, o presente trabalho examina a trajetória literária das poetas Midria Pereira da Silva, Tawane Theodoro e Luiza Romão a fim de compreender a dinâmica da produção e circulação de uma produção poética que nasce no âmbito dos Slams e já ocupa diferentes territórios editoriais e circuitos de leitura. Compreende-se, também, que o estudo dos papéis sociais dessas escritoras explicita o reconhecimento de um lugar e de uma especificidade da literatura de autoria feminina, permitindo a sedimentação dos olhares críticos a respeito da poesia brasileira produzida em espaços periféricos.
