România modernă nu poate fi înțeleasă fără a-și privi lucid trecutul. Cartea aceasta este o invitație la reflecție asupra unei perioade care a marcat profund identitatea națională – cei 45 de ani de socialism, trăiți între speranțe, constrângeri și transformări radicale.

Am scris această lucrare cu convingerea că un popor care dorește să-și construiască viitorul are datoria de a-și cunoaște și înțelege trecutul, în toată complexitatea lui. Nu este o carte despre nostalgie sau vinovăție, ci despre adevăr și continuitate. Despre modul în care românii au reușit, în ciuda greutăților și a deformărilor impuse de sistem, să-și păstreze reperele morale, credința și capacitatea de a renaște.

România. 45 de ani în socialism este o încercare de a așeza o epocă între coordonatele ei reale, fără exagerări, fără judecăți pripite. Este, totodată, o privire spre ceea ce urmează – spre România de mâine, care are nevoie de echilibru, memorie și responsabilitate pentru a construi lucid drumul său european.

Badania historii fotografii na Litwie, prowadzone w ostatnich dziesięcioleciach, znacznie wzbogaciły naszą wiedzę o początkach tego medium. Pojawiły się nowe nazwiska, odnaleziono nieznane dotąd zdjęcia. W artykule podjęto próbę przedstawienia polskim czytelnikom nowo odkrytych faktów, które miały wpływ na rozwój fotografii na Litwie od roku 1839 do końca okresu mokrego kolodionu. Research into the history of photography in Lithuania in recent decades has added new facts and phenomena to our knowledge of the early photography in Lithuania. New names have appeared; hitherto unknown photographs have been found. This article attempts to introduce the Polish public to new facts that influenced the development of photography in Lithuania from 1839 to the end of wet collodion period.

Magyarországon a 2014-es országgyűlési választásokon debütált a nemzetiségek kedvezményes mandátumszerzési lehetősége, melynek következtében 2014 és 2018 között 13 nemzetiségi szószóló, 2018 és 2022 között 12 szószóló és a német nemzetiségi képviselő ült be a parlamentbe. A két parlamenti ciklusban tett 377, plenáris ülésen elhangzott felszólalás elemzése segít feltérképezni, hogyan dolgoznak a nemzeti és etnikai kisebbségek képviselői.
Miről szólnak a szószólók? Képviseletnek tekinthetjük-e a szószólóságot? Hatékony képviseletnek számít-e? Mit csinálnak, miről beszélnek, kihez beszélnek, miről kérdeznek a nemzeti és etnikai kisebbségek képviselői? Mely témákra fordítják a legtöbb figyelmet a nemzetiségek képviselői, és melyekkel nem foglalkoznak inkább maguk sem?
Kállai Péter, az ELTE Társadalomtudományi Kar adjunktusa második kötetében ezekre a kérdésekre keresi a választ.

Ladislav Ďurič bol výraznou postavou slovenského školstva, psy chológie a pedagogiky 20. storočia. Svoju kariéru začal ako uči teľ na malých vidieckych školách, no postupne sa vypracoval na rešpektovaného odborníka, ktorý prispel k rozvoju odboru peda gogickej psychológie. Hoci prešiel aj zložitým obdobím normali zácie, nikdy neprestal pracovať na zlepšovaní vzdelávania a po rozumení psychologickým potrebám žiakov. Bol autorom prvej slovenskej učebnice pedagogickej psychológie a jeho vrcholná práca vyšla pod záštitou UNESCO.

L’intervento educativo non sempre garantisce che si raggiungano gli obiettivi di inclusione, soprattutto se l’azione ha natura compensativa, se non addirittura alimentatrice delle dinamiche marginalizzanti. La specificità etnica e la discontinuità degli interventi rivolti ai minori e alle famiglie rom e sinti sono state spesso rivelatrici di un rapporto fondato sulla subalternità di queste comunità, per cui l’educazione è stata utilizzata come dispositivo promotore di relazioni fondate sul binomio oppressore-oppresso. L’azione educativa, però, può anche risignificare il rapporto con chi è al margine. Attraverso il disegno di studio di caso-singolo verrà indagata l’esperienza di vita di un educatore rom di Roma rispetto a come i luoghi dell’educazione possano escludere chi viene percepito e narrato come diverso da “noi”, ma anche come percorsi educativi formali e non formali possano essere generatori di una rivoluzione liberatrice, finalizzata all’inclusione e alla giustizia sociale.

This chapter critiques the European Union’s efforts to support Romani people in overcoming the disadvantaged positions they hold in EU Member States (MS). It reviews current EU measures and developments and argues that these have produced limited results for the improvement of the lives of Romani people in Europe. The chapter argues that the EU should revise its approach for potentially more effective impacts, by gearing its efforts towards empowering Romani people to take up the opportunities that the EU and its MS offer in a manner which allows them to lead lives of their choosing. To this end, this chapter adopts Sen’s capabilities approach as a way forward, which suggests that people need to have the freedom (capability) to choose a variety of lifestyles, and thus require empowerment to make choices and implement these in their lives. The capabilities approach goes beyond having access to goods and services and requires authorities to create the conditions to empower citizens to make effective use of those goods and services. This chapter elaborates on Sen’s capabilities theory and assesses whether the EU supports it, and how it might (further) do so in the future. It concludes that to enhance the capabilities of Romani people in the EU, the EU institutions should adopt a multipronged strategy based on: greater use of Article 7 TEU and infringement procedures; the introduction of a hard law, Romani-specific measure; and the creation of a Roma Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Historians of public housing schemes in Italian cities have usually approached the history of public facilities from within the limits of a given housing complex, observing which collective-use infrastructures were built for a specific neighborhood (a parish, a school, a public market, etc.). This approach has been guided by a representation of 20th-century public housing schemes as separate entities within the urban landscape, each with its own narrative of design decisions, community dynamics, and outcomes.
Our paper aims at challenging this perspective by examining a case study of an Italian city where the development of public housing was intertwined with broader transformation processes. We concentrate on an urban transect in the northern periphery of Turin, Italy, punctuated by housing complexes built at different times under various funding programs. These schemes are part of a heterogeneous landscape in which they coexist side by side with piecemeal suburban developments, private housing initiatives for the lower middle classes, fringes of nineteenth-century planned neighborhoods, traces of former rural buildings, and other urban materials.
In such a context, collective-use facilities, although generally situated within or near public housing complexes, followed specific design, construction, and transformation strategies. They often came after the residential units had been completed and responded to separate sectoral programs and bureaucratic procedures. The social services that they offered were targeted at a broad and diversified population and aimed at covering a plurality of underequipped areas. Over time, their role and impact followed the ups-and- downs of an urban sector that was touched by various migration waves and by phenomena of social marginalization. Their spatial distribution and organization were also shaped by urban renewal campaigns aimed at ‘regenerating’ neighborhoods and public spaces. Rather than isolating individual neighborhoods or architectural typologies, our study therefore examines the interconnected co-evolution of public facilities. We will analyze the stratification of collective buildings and changes in their social function over several decades, illustrating how the city’s history was partly shaped by unintended consequences and the interplay of diverse sectoral policies.

Observations about European Gypsies from a hundred years ago (Knowledge mining)) by Béla Pokol The internal problems of the Roma communities in Europe, which have reached a larger number in Eastern European countries, as well as their problems of coexistence and integration with more comprehensive societies, are known based on analyses carried out in recent decades. Thus, it seems worth looking at the analyses made a hundred years earlier on the same issue, and the most advanced versions of large language models, including ChatGPT5, are now of great help in this. The following analysis thus contains the knowledge mining of the pro version of ChatGPT5 given to the questions asked.

Az elmúlt évtizedekben végzett elemzések alapján az európai cigány közösségek, amelyek a kelet-európai országokban értek el nagy létszámot, ismertek belső problémáikat illetően, ugyanígy az átfogóbb társadalmakkal való együttélés és integrációs problémáik is. Érdemes tehát megnézni a száz évvel korábban ugyanebben a kérdésben készített elemzéseket, és ebben most nagy segítséget nyújtanak a nagy nyelvi modellek legfejlettebb verziói, köztük a ChatGPT5. The Article gives a general overview of the Hungarian constitutional and legal framework for the participation of national minorities in the decision-making. The relatively low number of people belonging to national minorities in Hungary as well as the scattered patterns of their settlement and some aspects of the Hungarian legal traditions underlie the choice of the so called personal autonomy approach. The minorities can establish via a special electing mechanism local and national self-governments enjoying consultative and truly public law type rule-making and administrative competences. Having given the proper interpretation of the relevant article of the Constitution, the Constitutional Court also contributed to the birth of the Act on the Rights of Minorities. The basic reason behind the creation of a very complicated, multilevel institutional complex is that in this way, educational and cultural needs of minorities of different scale can be represented in a relatively coherent manner. This does not exclude at all the possibility of bringing modifications to the legal text in the light of a decade's experience.

Our research carried out in Nagyecsed is part of a longer series of research consisting of ten items, in which we primarily seek to map the main social characteristics and current social processes of settlements with the lower populations in the less-favoured regions of the country. In the course of the research, our goal is basically to get to know and present the perspectives of the local residents. A crucial consideration in the selection of the research sites was that smaller settlements in these peripheral regions are experiencing rather unfavourable socio-demographic trends, including in particular the declining population, aging, and the growing proportion of disadvantaged populations, including disadvantaged Roma. A kutatás a Debreceni Egyetem Kulturális igazgatás és intézményrendszer nemzetközi kitekintésben elnevezésű kutatásához kapcsolódik. Észak-Írország és az Ír Köztársaság „kis nemzetekként” egyedülálló terepet biztosítanak a művészetek, a kultúra, a polgárok és az állam kapcsolatában a közreműködés, a fel(nem)hatalmazás, a rombolás, az alkotás és a felforgatás fogalmainak vizsgálatához. A szigeten található két ország földrajzi közelsége, valamint egyedülálló társadalmi és strukturális hasonlóságaik és különbségeik tovább bonyolítják a helyzetet. Bár a felszínen ezek a kihívások nem tűnnek egyedülállónak, a posztkoloniális és unionista érzelmek továbbra is jelen vannak. Ennek következtében az Észak- és Dél-Írország kulturális politikájával kapcsolatos kérdések feltárása politikai felhangokat, történelmi visszhangokat és a kulturális identitással, az állampolgársággal vagy a területtel kapcsolatos kritikai reflexiókat is magában foglalhat. E komplex körülmények ellenére a szigeten a művészetek és a kultúra területén jelentős mértékű, joghatóságokon átnyúló együttműködés és politikaalkotás valósult meg. A közelmúltban azonban az Ír Köztársaság és Észak-Írország közpolitikai kapcsolataiban változások következtek be. Mindkét ország kifejezetten a kultúrára vonatkozó, egyértelmű nemzeti stratégiákkal állt elő. Az Ír Köztársaságban a közelmúltban két fontos kormányzati intézkedésnek lehettünk tanúi. A Culture2025: a keretpolitika 2025-ig a Partnership Government (Partnerségi Kormányprogram) című dokumentumból emelkedik ki, és „átfogó jövőképet és keretet határoz meg a jövőre nézve, valamint felvázolja az elkövetkező évek cselekvési prioritásait” (DAHRRGA, 2016). A Creative Ireland (2017) a kormány „hagyatéki programja” a 2016-os írországi megemlékezésekre, ugyanakkor "egy ötéves, 2017-től 2022-ig tartó kezdeményezés, amely a kreativitást helyezi a közpolitika középpontjába".
Bár mindkét területen üdvözöljük a hivatalos, magas szintű és előremutató kulturális politikák irányába tett lépéseket, sokan továbbra is óvatosak a tényleges és valós hatás tekintetében. A Visual Artists Ireland szerint (2010) ezek a változások, amelyek potenciálisan a hosszú távú, előrelátó és stratégiai gondolkodás felé való elmozdulást jelzik, a sziget kreatív és kulturális ágazata számára talán csak az eddig megszokott gondolkodást viszik tovább.

ÖSSZEFOGLALÓ Az Európai Parlament Nemzeti Kisebbségügyi Közös Munkacsoportja a 2004-es bővítést megelőzően elsősorban kisebbségi nyelvi kérdésekkel foglalkozott, azonban a közép-kelet-európai bővítésre válaszul tevékenységét kiterjesztette a kisebbségi autonómiák és jogok tanulmányozására is. Tanulmányomban arra keresem a választ, hogy a 2004-es bővítést követően az újabb (szélesebb) hatáskörökkel felruházott "félformális" csoportosulás hozzá tud-e járulni a kisebbségi érdekek hatékonyabb érvényesítéséhez.

The aim of the introductory and summarising study of this block of papers is to present the research question, which is currently being addressed by the ongoing research on how the presence of minorities in parliaments through different channels, e. g. ethnic or mainstream parties, reserved seats etc. (descriptive representation), can have a substantive impact, especially on issues that are likely to be important for the minority groups concerned in East-Central Europe. The research itself aims to contribute to the theoretical and practical understanding of minority representation and to future policy reforms that could enhance its effectiveness. In doing so, it will highlight the key political thinkers who have argued that politically underrepresented minorities need to be provided with collective rights and representation mechanisms to ensure that their interests are pursued. It also discusses relevant international legal standards and recommendations, as well as the relatively limited empirical research to date that has examined the actual political impact of minority MPs, including recent research on the system of minority spokespersons in Hungary. Finally, it presents the main characteristics of the nearly 300 minority MPs identified through self-identification in the 11 countries surveyed.

The article proposes to adopt the notion of diaspora as social practice for an analysis of Gypsy diasporas. It indicates the limits of the classical definition of diaspora, which is mainly based on the experience of the Jewish diaspora, and argues that the paradigm shift towards diaspora as social practice allows refocusing the debate on constitutive factors of diaspora making and on functions and main actors in developing a diasporic political discourse. The article outlines core elements of the Gypsy diaspora discourse and its main advocates. It offers thoughts on strengths and limits of this discourse and emphasises positive implications of the use of the diaspora concept for ongoing negotiations of Roma/Gypsy identity in the public sphere.

Az alábbi tanulmány arra tesz kísérletet, hogy a kisebbségi jog és az oktatáshoz való jog közös metszéspontjára a nemzetközi jog felől rávilágítson. A közös halmaz jellemzője, hogy két, nagyon eltérő tulajdonságú jogterület szabályait kell alkalmazni, amelyből az egyik erősebb jogérvényesítési eszköztárral rendelkezik. A kérdés, hogy melyik érvényesül, és egymás ellenében, vagy érdekében hatnak-e? Aktuális-e a nemzetközi jogi szabályozás, vagy ha nem, mekkora a lemaradása?

The "CS" (reduced comfort level) Housing Programme: The elimination of Gypsy settlements and shanty towns during the socialist period in Hungary tamás attila hajnáczky The "CS" Housing Programme The aim of this paper is to describe the single party-state's Gypsy settlement elimination programme in socialist Hungary. In the course of the research, I relied mainly on decrees and reports issued by the local council apparatus as "secret dossiers" and on sociological studies from the period. The ideological background of the communist state's Gypsy settlement elimination programme, the so-called "CS-housing" programme (CS = reduced comfort level), was as follows: the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party did not recognize the Hungarian Gypsies as a nationality and announced a policy of forced assimilation for them. The assimilation of the Gypsy population was mainly envisaged through the dismantling of their settlements and the dispersal of Gypsies among non-Gypsies. During the nearly two and a half decades of the CS-housing programme, more than 35,000 housing units were allocated, and most of the Gypsy settlements were dismantled. However, new forms of segregation emerged: ghettoized villages and segregated CS-housing settlements. In the last years of the socialist regime, it became clear that the single party-state's policy of forced assimilation of Gypsies had failed, and that the segregation of Gypsies could not be eliminated, partly due to the failures of the CS-housing programme. Furthermore, some village and town councils prevented the dispersal of the Gypsy settlers among the non-Gypsy population and created "more modern Gypsy settlements" for them.

This thesis studies the prisoner society at Gurs, an internment camp in southwestern France, between 1940 and 1942. It focuses on the everyday life of a German-Jewish group of internees, most of whom arrived following the German deportation of Jews from the Rhineland in late October 1940. During this two-year interval, German-Jewish prisoners comprised the critical mass of the prisoner society. This thesis contends that the Gurs prisoner society was not an offshoot of the Vichy state and presented myriad signs of internees’ impactful, though constrained, agency. It bore traces of internees’ particular trajectories and formed part of the history of western European Jewry. Its gendered division of labor reflected both middle-class European norms of behavior and the spatial separation of men and women in different sub-sections in the camp. Internees also participated in the management of food resources and bore responsibility for their distribution and maldistribution within and among different sub-groups in the camp. The prisoner society also produced its own heterotopias in the camp cemetery and hospitals. These heterotopias were spaces of both crisis and comfort where prisoners confronted challenges like illness and death but also experienced positive emotions due to reunion with family members and the forging of new bonds. All in all, consideration of the double character of the prisoner society at Gurs permits the reinsertion of German-Jewish victims into French historical narratives about the Holocaust. It also enriches conversations about agency and atrocity during the Holocaust by broadening the social and demographic profiles of those who qualify as historical actors and destabilizing binary modes of thought prevalent in the field of Holocaust studies.

A nemzetiségek magyarországi helyzete jogi szabályozásának, Kárpát–medencei története rövid áttekintésének és a kulturális autonómiájuk részeként működő oktatás-nevelés alkotmányjogi-közjogi kereteinek általános ismertetésén túl ez utóbbi konkrét bemutatását ehelyütt a lengyel nemzetiség iskolahálózatán keresztül szeretném majd esettanulmány formájában elvégezni.
A dolgozatomat egy elméleti és jogi alapvetéssel kezdem: előbb a kisebbség és a nemzetiség fogalmának differenciálását végzem el, majd az egyéni és kollektív nemzetiségi jogok számbavételével, illetve a nemzetiségi önkormányzatok működésének, továbbá a települési önkormányzatok és a helyi nemzetiségi önkormányzatok viszonyának bemutatásával folytatom. Majd a Kárpát-medencében honos nemzetiségek történetének rövid lélegzetű áttekintését követően a nemzetiségek oktatási önigazgatásának intézményrendszerét, az anyanyelvi oktatás lehetőségeit vizsgálom meg. Ez utóbbi vizsgálódást konkrét esettanulmánnyal egészítem ki, amely a lengyel nemzetiség iskolahálózata történetét és jelenlegi működését mutatja be.

This article presents some main issues related to connectivity among Romanies worldwide and some processes that inhibit them. The different diasporic narratives and the political ideas that emerged in the last decades for development of a global Romani community, which comprises multiples territories and is able to overcome the internal drawbacks and consolidate a unity among the scattered and very diverse Romani groups are facing new forms of old challenges: news practices of bordering and surveillance targeting the Romanies, considered as a "security problem", that result in forced mobility or forced immobility for them and reveals the precarization of their citizenship status. The persistence of stereotypes that relate Romanies to criminality, nomadism, diseases, backwardness, foreign origin, and lack of national belonging has sustained and reinforced negative attitudes towards them and the discourse of Romanies as a public menace.

This thematic issue of Critical Romani Studies Journal on Roma and Environmental Justice in Europe focuses on authoritarian politics, biases in residential planning, extractivism, institutional corruption, and structural
inequities that produce and maintain uneven exposure to negative environmental and climate impacts as experienced by Roma. Across Europe, numerous Romani communities live in environmentally hazardous areas with restricted access to water, sanitation, and waste removal. Their air, land, and water has been contaminated by waste dumps, railways and motorways, industrial farms, mines or abandoned industrial areas, compounded
by unavailable public infrastructure or access to green zones. The uneven distribution of environmental harms and benefits significantly contribute to the inequities Romani people encounter in their health outcomes and livelihoods. They suffer from higher rates of long-term illness and their life expectancy is between 10 and 25 years less than the general population. This gap will further expand as vulnerable communities miss out on resources to effectively adapt or become resilient to the impacts of climate change.

Měli jsme jedinečnou možnost po celých deset let spolupracovat se smyčcovým orchestrem, který vychází z venezuelského programu El Sistema. Hlavním cílem příspěvku je představit odborné veřejnosti výsledky našeho dlouhodobého kvalitativního výzkumu, který se zaměřoval na vliv hudebních aktivit na rozvoj edukačních a sociálních kompetencí u dětí z prostředí dětského domova a u dětí se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami. Zjistili jsme, že hudební aktivity jsou významným akcelerátorem celé řady kompetencí, nicméně je třeba brát na zřetel specifi ka cílové skupiny. Na základě našich výsledků navrhneme modifikaci přípravy budoucích realizátorů hudebních aktivit a nové generace hudebně výchovných pedagogů.

Absztrakt: A nemzeti és etnikai kisebbségek jogairól szóló 1993. évi LXXVII. törvény hívta életre a 13 honosként elismert kisebbség számára a döntően személyi elven alapuló kulturális autonómia hazai változatát, a települési, fővárosi (utóbb vármegyei is) és országos szinten szerveződő kisebbségi, a hatályos, a nemzetiségek jogairól szóló 2011. évi CLXXIX. törvény újabb terminológiája szerint nemzetiségi önkormányzati rendszert. A nemzetiségi önkormányzatok választására – az egyedüli 1995-ös pótválasztásokat is ideszámolva – kilencedik alkalommal került sor 2024 júniusában, egy napon a helyi önkormányzati és európai parlamenti választásokkal, amelyet a korábbiakhoz hasonlóan a választási szabályokat érintő jogszabálymódosítás előzött meg. Települési szinten, döntően a roma önkormányzatok számának némi csökkenésének köszönhetően, 2019-hez képest 42-vel kevesebb, összesen 2146, míg területi szinten, az ukrán önkormányzatok bővülése következtében kettővel több, 64 önkormányzatot választottak, a 13 országos önkormányzat pedig a törvény erejénél fogva jött létre. A jogszabályi változások áttekintése mellett jelen tanulmány célja, hogy főbb vonalakban bemutassa és elemezze a legutóbbi nemzetiségi önkormányzati választások eredményeit, kitérve a 2022-es népszámlálás nemzetiségi adataival való összevetésre és olyan jellemzőkre, mint a választási verseny, a választói részvétel, a képviselői kontinuitás és a nemek aránya a megválasztott képviselők körében.

Abstract: Act 77 of 1993 on the Rights of National and Ethnic Minorities established the Hungarian variant of non-territorial cultural autonomy for the 13 recognised national and ethnic minorities, the system of minority self-governments (MSGs) organised at the municipal, metropolitan (later also at the county level) and national level, which has been retained by the new Act 179 of 2011 on the Rights of National Minorities. Including the only by-elections in 1995, the elections of MSGs took place for the ninth time in June 2024, on the same day as the local and European Parliament elections, which, as in the past, were preceded by a legislative amendment to the electoral rules. At the municipal level, mainly due to a slight decrease in the number of Roma MSGs, 42 fewer bodies were elected compared to 2019, for a total of 2146, while at the territorial level, due to the expansion of Ukrainian MSGs, 64 bodies were elected, two more than in 2019, and 13 MSGs at national level were created by force of law. In addition to an overview of the legislative changes, the aim of the study is to present and analyse the results of the recent elections to MSGs in broad terms, including a comparison with the relevant data of the 2022 census and characteristics such as electoral competition, voter turnout, electoral continuity and the gender ratio among elected representatives.

Kolokviální práce zkoumá počátky Československé punkové scény v kulturněhistorickém kontextu od počátku svého příchodu do Československa až do současnosti. V práci bude stručně představena historie punku od počátku svého vzniku v New Yorku v 70. letech, kde za počátek punku je zmiňován hudební klub CBGB až do období 80. let ve Velké Británii. Hlavní kapelu, která bude ve středu mého zájmu je dnes už neexistující kapela Hrdinové Nové Fronty a zahraniční velikáni typu Sex Pistols, Ramones či The Clash. V jedné z kapitol jsou na českých punkových kapelách zkoumány vlivy zahraničních kapel.

Ez a sztélé ősi magyar képírással készült, ami szótagírás. Olyan, mint egy képregény. Nagy kár, hogy csak ennyit láthatunk belőle, érdekes lenne a teljes szöveget elolvasni. A kezek, és a csákány közti felületet meg sem próbálom, hiszen nehéz kibogozni mit ábrázol. A téglalap ábrája alatt is vannak még jelek, nem tudni, mennyi, és nem lehet látni, hogy pontosan mi az, talán egy kutya, egy dőlt vonal, és egy ló? Ha jól gondolom, és erről van szó, akkor a KU.TYA+ DŐ.L+ L.Ó ábrája alapján a "KUDŐL", vagy "KUDL" szót kapjuk. Ez a "KÖTÉL" kifejezés, amely titulusként törvény, jog, bíró értelmű. Megtaláltam ezt a szót, és bemutattam már több leleten az előző tanulmányokban. Még érdekesebb azonban a "kötél" szó feletti rész. Itt el fogunk időzni, és gondolkozni a lehetséges olvasási variációkon. Remek példát láthatunk arra, hogy mi volt az egyik oka a szavak elferdülésének. Az írásvezetés jobbról-balra, alulról-felfelé, busztrofedon módon történik, ha tehát a kutyától haladunk a ló felé, akkor a következő jel a téglalap kell, hogy legyen, és ott már balról-jobbra olvasunk. A téglalap a kert, kerít jele. Mellette egy férfi nemi szerv, vajon mire gondolt, aki ezt írta, mely szót alkalmazta? Puca, fasz, here? Nem mindegy a jó eredményt illetően, meg fogjuk látni, hogy miért. A következő jel egy csákány, nem téveszthető össze mással. Ebből a három jelből rakjuk össze a szót, mert a következő három jel már egy újabb szó lesz. A téglalapnál, -mint kert, kerít, az első három hangzó alapján háromféle variáció jöhet szóba: -K.ERT -KE.RT -KER.T A csákánynál szintén, de ez igaz bármelyik képjelnél, hogy csak annyit használt fel a szótagból, amennyire a leírandó szóhoz szüksége volt. -CS.ÁKÁNY -CSÁ.KÁNY -CSÁK.ÁNY A nemi szerv esetében nézzük elsőnek a hasonlókat, (p/f) puca, fasz. Egyetlen értelmesnek tűnő szót tudunk belőle kihozni, ez a "kepcsák", vagy "kipcsák" szó. KE.RT+P.UCA / F.ASZ+CSÁK.ÁNY = KE.P.CSÁK. / KE.F.CSÁK. Felkapjuk rá a fejünket, hiszen ismerjük, hogy voltak kipcsák törökök. Na de ez a sztélé i.e. a 3. évezred közepéről származik! Hol voltak akkor még kipcsák törökök? Nézzük tovább, mi lehet még, ha pl. a "here" szót alkalmazzuk. KER.T+ HE.RE+ CSÁK.ÁNY = KER.HE.CSÁK. Kerhecsák, azaz Gerecsák állítólag egy püspök volt, ráadásul uruki. (Forrás: Arvisura) Akkor tegyük helyre a dolgot. Ehhez el kell olvasnunk a következő három jelet, ami egy irha jel, és két szekerce. IR.HA+ SZE.KERCE+ K.ÉTSZER = IR.SZE.K. Ha Gerecsák püspök volt, itt úgy is olvashatnánk, hogy érsek, azaz Gerecsák érsek, és azt hihetnénk, hogy ez egy jó megoldás. Szó nincs erről, mert ez egy ferdülés, úgy ahogy van, ami egy képírásos szöveg rossz értelmezéséből ered. Az Arvisurában leírt Gerecsák uruki püspök vagy érsek soha nem létezett, ráadásul az Uruk szó is egy ferdülés, mert eredetileg unug volt, ami pedig a "nagy" szó ferdülése. Erről írtam a "Magyarok nyomai Nyugat-Európában az i.e. IV. században" című tanulmányban az örmény Unag Astuas kifejezés kapcsán, ami Nagy Isztosz, vagyis Nagy Isten jelentésű volt. Az Uruk, azaz unug szó tehát a "nagy" szó ferdülése, mert Uruk egy nagy város volt, és a nagy szót mondták rá. Mindemellett tegyük hozzá, hogy volt egy Kish nevű város is. A következő 3 fotó a phaistosi korongról szól, jól nézzük meg, rajta van a csákány ábrája, és rajta van az irha eredeti képjele, ami egy minden irányban kifeszített bőr vagy szőrme, s ez a jel egyszerűsödött később egyenlő szárú keresztté: + Egyenlő szárú keresztet rajzoltak aláírás gyanánt az írástudatlanok, pont azért, mert az ír szót szimbolizálta, ami az irha szó eleje, és a szótagírásban i, vagy ir a hangértéke. The edited volume, Roma in Central and Southeastern Europe: Navigating Muslim Identities, Challenges, and Activism addresses a complex and underexplored intersection of ethnic, religious, and activist identities. The volume focuses on the experiences of Roma communities with Muslim backgrounds, situating their struggles within broader frameworks of discrimination, resilience, and aspirations for societal transformation.
By examining the nexus between antigypsyism and anti-Muslim hatred, as well as the forms of activism that emerge from these intersecting oppressions, this collection fills a critical gap in the academic literature. It sheds light on a range of urgent issues, including the impact of multiple forms of discrimination on specific groups such as Roma women, and it explores the diverse strategies of resistance and community engagement developed within these marginalized populations.

a path ‘moist’ > ‘snout / mouth of animals / etc.’ seems to exist.  This means that a similar set of words with *mu- (*mud- ‘wet / muddy’, *mus- ‘seaweed / moss’, *mut()- ‘dirt(y) / snout’) should be related in the same way.


B.  One set is fairly simple :

*muHt- \ *mutH- > G. mútis ‘snout / organ like the liver in mollusks’, múttakes (1) ‘*mold > mushrooms / *snout > beard’, mústax \ bústax ‘upper lip / mustache’, muttís ‘*stain > squid ink’, Al. mut ‘dirty / shit’, Ar. mut’ ‘dark’ (Whalen 2025a)

It’s also possible that G. mústax ‘upper lip’ and Kh. muštàq ‘flat-nosed’ are related.  For similar meanings, see C.


C.  Another set shows much more variation.  In Indic *muska- > Rom. mosko ‘face / voice’ (2), *mukṣa- > Lv. muc̦ ‘face’, one type of metathesis would be nothing odd.  However, S. múkha-m ‘mouth/face’ also resembles them greatly, and there is no good way to get kh without *kH.  If 3 words for ‘face’ in Indic are *muska-, *mukṣa-, and *mukHa-, failing to attempt to relate them would be foolish.  There is also *mukHya- > S. múkhya-, *mukṣya- > *moxṣi >> Bu. -móqiṣ ‘face’ (which had many other IIr. loans).  This is also supported by Kh. moxo-ḍók ‘cheek’ >> B.y. -móqoṭ (or from a similar IIr. source), with the same x > q (also seen in loans into Kh.).  Seeing s \ ṣ \ *H in several sets supports the reality of this alternation.

There is a way to explain this, with plenty of examples in other IE, a few in IIr.  In Greek, there is sporadic *sk > *xk > kk (3).  If *H was similar to *x or *R (Whalen 2024a), this would allow *ks > *kx > kh (or similar).  The opposite type in *kH1umbho- > S. kumbhá-s ‘jar/pitcher/water jar/pot’, *ksumbho- > S. kusumbha-s ‘water pot / safflower / saffron’ (Whalen 2025c).  This provides a reasonable way to relate them, and H \ s seems to be fairly common (Whalen 2024b).

Some say that mu- is ono. for the sound of lips smacking, etc., explaining why several groups might independently turn *mu- > ‘lips / mouth / face’.  However, if PIE had ‘wet’ > ‘snout’, it becomes much harder for ono. to be a reasonable explanation.  That each group shows many variants might also support a common origin, hidden by these optional sound changes.

They have been engaged in the field of Romani Studies for over four decades and have published extensively on Roma communities in Bulgaria, the Balkans, and Central and Eastern Europe. Their major publications include the first comprehensive monograph on the history and ethnography of the Roma in Bulgaria (1997), as well as seminal works on the Gypsies in the Ottoman Empire (2000), in Central Asia and the Caucasus (2016), the sourcebook Roma Voices in History (2021), the volume Roma Portraits (2022) and the book Stalin vs Gypsies: Roma and Political Repressions in the USSR (2024). They are also the editors and authors of six volumes of Roma Folklore and Oral History, in addition to numerous other books, scholarly articles, book chapters, assessment studies, and exhibition catalogues. Furthermore, they are the co-founders and co-editors of the Brill series Roma History and Culture.

Immanuel Kant’s philosophy is often consulted and used in the philosophy of sport, but typically in a cursory and oversimplified manner. He is often used as a starting point in argumentation to reinforce a taken position, often serving as a simplified adversary, or “straw man”, without the intention of deeply understanding his stance. In this paper, for the first time in existing literature, we will provide a comprehensive critical review and evaluation of the use of Kant’s philosophy in the discourse of the philosophy of sport. On one hand, we will examine papers that consider aspects of Kant’s philosophy in the context of sport. On the other hand, we will focus on papers in which parts of Kant’s philosophy play a central role within the discourse, discussion, or debate, particularly in four areas of the philosophy of sport: a) the epistemology of sport (e.g., Lopez Frias 2017); b) the ethics of sport (e.g., Loland 1998, 2002); c) the aesthetics of sport (e.g., Kreft 2015; Edgar 2015; Borge 2015); and d) the anthropology of sport (e.g., McNamee, 2008). It should be noted that only a small number of papers are explicitly dedicated to Kant, and these will receive special attention. In the final part, we will summarize critical assessments of the use of Kant’s philosophy in the philosophy of sport and indicate possible Kantian directions in the philosophy of sport.

This article aims to answer the question of how the glorious image of Rome was constructed in the fragments of the work Ab Urbe Condita that present the contact with other peoples. The interest is focused on the contextual analysis of the sequences that include the noun fama with the particular meanings of "general opinion", "good or bad fame", "reputation", related to various populations or people, in order to highlight the discursive strategies used by the author to serve the purpose of his work and the Augustan policy.

I Крымские этнографические чтения «Этнография Крыма и сопредельных территорий» состоялись 14-15 декабря 2023 г. в Симферополе. Их целью является изучение и сохранение исторического наследия народов Крыма, популяризация традиционной народной культуры, развитие исследовательской деятельности крымских ученых в области этнографии.
