New media technologies

Розглянуто зміни у науковому дискурсі щодо дефініції поняття «імерсивна журналістика» та визначено основні етапи критичного осмислення феномену. Вивчена роль технологічного фактору як концептотворчого чинника VR-комунікації. Досліджуючи відео-сюжети формату «відео 360 °», опубліковані на офіційних YouTube-каналах телекомпанії 1+1 та Радіо Свобода Україна у 2015-2019 рр., із застосуванням методології Уітмера -Сінгера виокремлено чотири групи факторів, що забезпечують присутність у віртуальному середовищі. Проаналізовано декілька форматів відео: новинні сюжети, соціальна реклама, спецпроєкти, відеотрансляції, мультимедійні проєкти, серед яких наявні як подієвий, так і авторський контент. Визначено, що фактори постійно взаємодіють і впливають один на одного, чинячи вплив і на головні складники VR-ефектуприсутність, залученість та занурення. Сюжети, що претендують на максимальну ефективність, мають робити ставку на сенсорні фактори та фактори відволікання, бо саме від них залежить дієвість імерсивного комплексу «присутніть+залученість+зануреність». В аналізованих сюжетах ієрархія факторів виглядає наступним чином: на першому місці фактори відволікання (що є логічним), але друге місце посідають фактори реалістичності, не зважаючи на формат тексту. При цьому акцентується, що реалістичність повинна виходити на перший план, якщо імерсивні технології застосовуються при створенні новинних сюжетів, і читач не має можливості керувати композицією, присутність формується через занурення в оповідь. Авторські публіцистичні тексти створюються із застосуванням методів, що дозволяють користувачам впливати на хід оповіді, пропонувати власний хронотоп, створювати різні рівні емоційного занурення через, наприклад, максимальне залучення. Світова практика доводить ефективність даного принципу, але ним не користуються українські медійники. На сенсорні фактори та фактори керування припадає дуже мало уваги, яка здебільшого розподіляється між візуальною складовою та прогнозованістю дії, які самі по собі є невід'ємними елементами публіцистичних відеосюжетів.

Transmedia storytelling has been instrumental in the massive audience followership of shows like Lord of the Rings (2001) and Sophia's Diary (2008). Its potentials to promote audience engagement that will break the culture of silence with such serious issues as postpartum depression (PPD) should be explored. Given the popularity of film in the context of study, it is fitting to explore its ability to address such sensitive issues, even in novel ways. This article employs the new media theory as a theoretical framework, and it explores the possibilities that media convergence presents to create new realities, by promoting attitudinal and behavioural changes. This is case study of the Little Drops of Happy (2017) a video film on (PPD) examined the opportunities for screenings and other forms of audience engagement -including promotional events. It assessed the range of media employed in this regard and feedback generated. It is apparent from this that the principles of transmedia storytelling were not fully embraced in promoting knowledge on postpartum depression. Though the potential for transmedia storytelling exists, it was stymied in this context, possibly for fear of losing control of storyline and intellectual property rights. Yet African filmmakers are encouraged to explore the use of this technique further, considering its promise to foster deep engagement with audiences and facilitate effective communication on a wide range of health and social issues.

In this article I examine issues resulting from the convergence of history and new media technologies. My main focus lies in the process of representing and communicating the past and I attempt to trace the changes that this process undergoes under the impact of hypertext, the internet and multimedia technologies. Particular attention is given to the element of vision and the potential of new media technologies to create novel – optical ways of representing the past.

Changes in the scientific discourse regarding the definition of the concept of “immersive journalism” are considered and the main stages of the critical understanding of the phenomenon are identified. The role of the technological factor as a concept-forming element of VR-communication is studied. 360 ° videos, published on the official YouTube channels of the 1 + 1 television company and Radio Liberty Ukraine in 2015-2019, were studied using the Witmer-Singer methodology. The four groups of factors were identified that ensure the presence in a virtual environment. Through a meeting of practice and theory this thesis shifts the locus of attention from the spectacle to the everyday practice of parkour. Using documentary filmmaking with anthropological intentions and extended access over a six year period, this thesis explores the subjective everyday lived performances and essence of parkour, as experienced by a select group of experienced practitioners, as well as those who were involved in parkour's creation and development. Parkour is a multidimensional phenomenon that can be experienced as an art, training discipline, sport, set of values, and practice of freedom, depending on an individual's motivations, cultural understanding and exposure to the history of the practice. The research establishes that parkour is an imaginative and particular way of thinking; remapping the landscape with 'parkour vision'. Parkour transforms how one experiences, moves, connects and participates in the environment, challenging notions of normative behaviour, socialisation, identity and self-determining actions through explorations of, as well as expressions of the self. The results of which are a means to find a more authentic deeper inner sense of self, producing feelings of inclusion and an enhanced sense of freedom through the creation of an autonomous social body. Parkour encourages self-reliance and mutual co-operation whilst enabling participants to reclaim the wonderment and magic of the human experience, valuing confrontations of fear, pleasure and pain in transcending the real and imagined boundaries of one's own limitations, play and freedom of expression. This thesis explores themes such as shared cinema, collaborative filmmaking, participant observation and issues of representation. Parkour is discussed theoretically from the perspectives of Eichberg's work on body cultures, Foucauldian relations of power and technologies of the self, alongside Merleau Ponty's phenomenology, Csikszentmihalyi's optimal flow experience, Wellmann's insights into networked individualism and Charles Taylor's work on the search for an authentic self and the complexities of a modern identity. This work unveils the research trajectory of how digital natives exploit the new media technologies in the context of the uses and gratifications, and technology appropriation theories. A total of 43 scholarly works published between 2010 and 2016 were examined, using the qualitative approach. Findings show a visible trace of creativity exhibited by the indigenes of a digital world, which helped in the gratification of their desire for communication and socialization. Not visible, however, is the relationship between the gratifications sought (GS) and gratifications obtained (GO) as well as the specific new media technologies and platforms or social media applications that helped them to achieve both. This unveiling shows the future directions in the area of digital natives’ disproportionate use of new media technologies and how that affects their academics, amongst other things

News outlets have started employing 360 degree video techniques for journalism, to further expand the scope of immersive journalism. The paper focuses on 360 and VR stories and technologies used for journalism in India. Existing news theories would benefit from a perspective on emerging new media formats. VR, AR and 360 degree technology have given rise to new forms of theory and practice, not only in terms of news presentation but news gathering as well. While the use of virtual reality and 360 degree camera techniques for news seems exciting and full of opportunities, it is also replete with challenges. The study presents the lived experiences of seven practicing journalists through in-depth interviews by employing a qualitative method of key informant technique. The study also uses a theoretical framework to understand the practicing journalists' views on the challenges faced in deploying innovative technologies for journalism in India and reveals that there is a long way to go. The key findings include that seamless integration across media platforms due to the availability and affordability of the technology for the media houses as well as for the public at large is a matter of debate and contestation. The technologies provide best possible perspectives on news events but are not suitable for all types of events. Training of the journalists on the newer formats is another challenge. Indian journalism is still adopting them in slow phase but experimental pieces have been produced, which have successfully engaged audiences through its interactive and immersive storytelling.

The rapid advances in technological developments and the digitalization efforts of many sectors accordingly affect the field of media and broadcasting. Unlike  traditional broadcasting, digital broadcasting platforms, which emerged with the existence of the internet and the effect of digitalization, have brought many new features. Basically, digital broadcasting platforms, which replace the concept of passive viewer in traditional media with the concept of active user with the new
technical opportunities they offer, aim to continuously improve the experience of platform users from the platform. For this purpose, the diversity and usability of the technical features on the platform are considered important by the platforms in order to increase the user experience and various interface improvement studies are carried out in this direction. In this context, the research aims to reveal the
relationship between the technical features of digital broadcasting platforms and platform usability and user experience. For this purpose, Netflix, which has the highest number of members in the world and is the first digital streaming platform to start operating in Turkey, has been determined as the sample platform in the research. The effects of interface designs, recommendation algorithms, personalization and binge-watching technical features offered to the user on the Netflix
platform on the user experience on the basis of usability were revealed with the data obtained by the survey method. In the study, which included 408 platform member participants, it was concluded that the technical features offered by digital streaming platforms to their users positively affect usability, and that the level of usability increases as the user experience increases

In the current society, where the information flow has a big impact on the learner, and the learning methods differ from student to student, it is important to understand a virtual campus and its benefits. Nobody can doubt the impact of the new technologies on the educational system. In this new reality, universities must learn to work and collaborate with other universities or groups of interest in order to prepare learners to meet the requirements of the 21 st century. The solution can be a virtual campus that offers powerful tools, access to content and services, personal learning environment, enabling the student to acquire information and learn new skills. This article offers on overview of a virtual campus and the prototype of learner that is suitable for it. The accent falls on two of the skills that a learner must have: self directed learning and of course collaborative learning. The first concept refers to the learner's capabilities to be responsible of his decisions regarding the learning process and to take the initiative while the second one is based on the fact that a virtual campus is built on collaborative processes that engage stakeholders to interact and learn from each other.

The 2013 curriculum is often known as strengthening character education, learning 21st century skills with 4C culture, HOTs, and literacy. This study aims to determine changes in learning practices and innovations in the implementation of the 2013 curriculum for Islamic Religious Education at Junior High School in Malang. Research methods mixed-method research with explanatory research. data mining using questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documents. data analysis using the Miles Haberman cycle model. The results show that the change in the learning paradigm and the concept of learning practices of Islamic Religious Education is increasingly positive and innovative with the application of the 2013 curriculum. Changes occur with the practice of changing learning habits from within students to achieve good learning outcomes, including changes in attitude (affective), knowledge (cognitive), and cohesiveness (psychomotor). learning practices are also supported by ICT-based learning and learning outside the classroom. scientific approach and Skill 4 C (critical thinking, creative, collaborative, communicative) with a level of questions that lead to HOTs. The obstacles that are still faced include changing the old learning culture such as weak literacy, adequate facilities, and frequent curriculum revisions, requiring support from institutions / policy leaders in implementing the 2013 curriculum.

Film production in developed nations have gone digital, and the old ways of producing movies is gradually dying. The Nigerian Movie Industry, popularly referred to as ‘Nollywood’ is yet to come to terms with this, despite being ranked the third highest grossing movie maker in the world, behind ‘Hollywood’ in the United States of America and ‘Bollywood’ in India. Computer Graphics, Animation and Special Effects created with computers have been embraced by movie studios in developed nations. Film editors, who for decades worked by painstakingly cutting and gluing film segments together, are now sitting in front of computer screens. There, they edit entire features while adding special effects, animations and sound that is not only stored digitally, but also has been created and manipulated with computers.  Viewers are witnessing the results of all this in the form of stories and experiences that they never dreamed of before. The emphasis of this paper is to create more awareness on the need for Film Makers, Producers, Directors and all other Stake-holders involved in the making of Igbo–themed Nollywood Movies, to incorporate computer graphics, animations and special effects in their movie productions, and also to encourage more people to get involved in this virgin area of film production. By doing this, the movies produced would be globally accepted and would compete with other movies from around the globe. This in-turn would create positive awareness for the Igbo people, in a globalized society, create employment for them, create wealth for all the other stakeholders involved in the movie industry and most importantly would be generally beneficial in terms of promoting Igbo culture and dignity. Perhaps the most surprising aspect of all this, however, is that the entire digital effects and animation industry is still in its infancy in Nigeria. Implementation of GST increased the tax revenue and this helps the government to provide better services encouraging production and increasing Economy-GDP. This micro-study seeks to analyze the relationship between Economy-GDP and GST Revenue and the influence of the Cost of GST Collection on such relationship which was unexplored in the previous studies. The study offers insights to the policymakers in ensuring the efficient generation of GST Revenue and making decisions related to Taxation, Spending, and Economic Planning. For the Study, Data were collected from Secondary Sources such as the Union Budget of India and the Press Information Bureau. A Statistical Model was framed using the data collected from the Secondary Sources. The Statistical Model WAS analyzed with the help of Multiple Regression Analysis Via Process macro model number 1 using SPSS Software. The results showed a significant relationship between Economy-GDP and GST Revenue. However, it was found that the relationship between Economy-GDP and GST Revenue remained stable across the levels of the Cost of GST Collection. Considering the sample size taken for the study, further research is essential to get more insights from this study.

El objetivo de este ensayo fue determinar si la condición de enriquecimiento del alojamiento de las ratas Sprague Dawley producidas en el Bioterio de INDICASAT-AIP, puede favorecer una conducta ansiolítica luego de un procedimiento aversivo como la toma de muestra de sangre. Al destete, los animales se segregaron en 2 grupos que incluyeron: grupo con y sin enriquecimiento. El enriquecimiento ambiental consistió en 2 tubos de policloruro de vinilo por caja. Students of architecture have as a part of their training, the acquisition of Computer Aided Design proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit and other software, in order to be relevant in the global terrain. Currently, in the curriculum of the study of Architecture in Covenant University, the students are assembled in the Digital Design Studio with the advanced computer graphics suite on each system. As in the case of learning technologies, the use of new media is grounded in its value to support sound pedagogical approaches. This paper investigates the current study methods adopted in Architecture by administering questionnaires to undergraduate and postgraduate students of the 2016/2017 batch. As the communication world becomes more complex and participatory, social networking sites (SNSs) have emerged as a platform with the potential to invigorate democracy and political engagement. However, the value of SNSs in politics remains contested among researchers. The study reported on in this article was based on a survey of 600 university students, aged between18 and 35, to examine the relationship between social media use and political engagement among the youth in Kenya. The study focused on the extent to which SNSs facilitate consumption of political information and the role of SNSs in influencing political interest, knowledge and behaviour among the youth. The study found that reliance on SNSs is positively associated with political participation; however, this influence is limited, and though useful, it does not radically transform political engagement. Therefore, the capacity of SNSs to shape opinion and influence political preferences is limited but internet based political activities like posting and distributing campaign information and consumption of political content have a bearing on political participation. The study concluded that while SNSs do not seem to have a major direct impact on political choices among users, politicians and other campaign actors cannot ignore the opportunity provided by these platforms in the voter mobilisation process.

This article examines the use of blogs to mediate the experiences of citizens during a violentelection in Zimbabwe. It focuses specifically on how people disseminated and shared informationabout their tribulations under a regime that used coercive measures in the face of its crumblinghegemonic edifice. The article frames these practices within theories of alternative media andcitizen journalism and argues that digitisation has occasioned new counter-hegemonic spacesand new forms of journalism that are deinstitutionalised and deprofessionalised, and whoseradicalism is reflected in both form and content. Initiatives using parkour and parkour-inspired hybrid activities are emerging in increasingly varied settings from formal physical education to the performance arts. This proliferation in England has led to the need for more formal governance resulting in the formation of a Sport Englandsanctioned national governing body, Parkour UK. In this paper, we document attempts to challenge the perceived sportization process in England through the emergence of Performance-Parkour [2PK] a version of parkour practice rooted in the performance arts. We discuss the implications of these developments for maintaining parkour's diversity and inclusivity as a practice for inspiring participation. We draw on a range of data sources including observations, formal interviews, and reflections from different positions from academic outsides to involved practitioner. We then consider the implications of these developments for maintaining parkour's diversity and inclusivity as a practice for inspiring participation, particularly with regard to pedagogic style and gender inclusion. This process highlights some of the challenges and difficulties in the institutionalisation of an informal movement practice into an organised and formalised one. Our paper therefore contributes to our understanding of the role informal sporting activities can play in promoting inclusive and equitable physical cultures, and provides insights into emergent boundary-crossing practices that are situated between sports and the arts.

Digital media have transformed media’s news gathering, production and news dissemination traditions. However, African language newspapers’ use of digital media has been overlooked and understudied. Therefore, this study explores the adoption of digital media by Isolezwe, a South African indigenous language newspaper that publishes in IsiZulu. Data were gathered using the interview and observation methods. Deploying strands drawn from media convergence and diffusion of innovation theories, the study shows the convergence of African language print media and digital media, and advancement of African language newspapers towards increasing their digital and social media presence. Virtual reality and 360-degree video are being used in several areas. Journalism is among them. In fact, the use of these technologies and formats has given way to a novel trend known as Immersive Journalism. But organizational communication and, more specifically, humanitarian aid NGOs have found in 360 video storytelling an opportunity to bring the realities where they work closer to the society. The aim of this immersive narrative is to allow users to become witnesses through a first-person experience of the stories' events. And connected to this, to promote the creation of ties with 'the others' and their realities. In this study, it is analyzed from a critical and ethical point of view the 360-degree video content produced by five well-known NGOs: International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Doctors Without Borders, UNHCR, Save the Children and World Vision International.

With the rapidly emerging development of technology-mediated tourism experiences and place-based digital services for visitors, there is a lack of awareness regarding the spatial implications of technological implementations. Based on a participatory action research method applied in this study on five research-based destination development projects in Sweden, we propose a spatially sensible approach when developing enhanced experiences for visitors through digital technology. This paper is motivated by the emerging criticism of how media technology is shaping and reshaping spaces. Drawing on the theoretical underpinnings of the growing field of geomedia studies, we propose "geomedia sensibility" as a way to offer a sensible approach in the co-creation of digital experiences at destinations.

Initiatives using parkour and parkour-inspired hybrid activities are emerging in increasingly varied settings from formal physical education to the performance arts. This proliferation in England has led to the need for more formal governance resulting in the formation of a Sport Englandsanctioned national governing body, Parkour UK. In this paper, we document attempts to challenge the perceived sportization process in England through the emergence of Performance-Parkour [2PK] a version of parkour practice rooted in the performance arts. We discuss the implications of these developments for maintaining parkour's diversity and inclusivity as a practice for inspiring participation. We draw on a range of data sources including observations, formal interviews, and reflections from different positions from academic outsides to involved practitioner. We then consider the implications of these developments for maintaining parkour's diversity and inclusivity as a practice for inspiring participation, particularly with regard to pedagogic style and gender inclusion. This process highlights some of the challenges and difficulties in the institutionalisation of an informal movement practice into an organised and formalised one. Our paper therefore contributes to our understanding of the role informal sporting activities can play in promoting inclusive and equitable physical cultures, and provides insights into emergent boundary-crossing practices that are situated between sports and the arts.

The social benefits of informal and lifestyle sports: a research agenda Understanding sport through the lens of social benefit has become a mainstay of sport policy analysis. A wealth of research has considered how sport contributes to achieving wider social benefits, including improvements to health and well-being, life satisfaction, crime reduction, community cohesion and activism, environmental stewardship, educational attainment, labour market participation, civic renewal, urban regeneration and developing youth (Coalter 2007, Oughton and Tacon 2007, Brookes and Wiggan 2009). Over the decades governments and policymakers have advocated the use of traditional or mainstream sports for combating a range of social 'problems', from youth disengagement to poor health. Most recently, fears about rising levels of inactivity and obesity, particularly amongst children, are increasingly driving sports-based interventions and the question of sport's capacity to deliver public policy outcomes. Yet, as Coakley highlights, sport-related policies tend to be based on the unquestioned belief that sport participation is beneficial and an effective tool for individuals and society more broadly (Coakley 2011). But as critical research in the sport development field has illustrated, there is a general lack of research evidence (Kay 2009, Coakley 2011, Darnell 2012, Weed 2016). Claims that sport interventions provide personal development (Coakley 2011) in for example overcoming obstacles, improving lives and creativity and decreasing disruptive behaviours are often unsubstantiated and the process of change not understood (Coalter 2007, 2010). The inability of traditional elite competitive sport to impact on youth (in)activity was vividly illustrated by the failure of the London 2012 Olympics to lead to the sustained increase in participation that it was claimed the Games would inspire (e.g. Roan 2015, Weed 2016). While there is an established evidence base, and research programme for understanding and critiquing the social benefits of mainstream sport, the situation for lifestyle and informal sport is more piecemeal. This condition was observed over a decade ago when, along with our colleagues Alan Tomlinson and Neil Ravenscroft, we wrote a report for Sport England suggesting a research agenda that national sport policymakers and funders should make for lifestyle sport 1 (Tomlinson et al. 2005). We recognised that lifestyle sports could help to achieve public policy outcomes, but that a new research agenda was called for with a view to placing the lifestyle sport participant at the centre of the analysis in order to fully benchmark impacts (Ibid.: p.40). While the report ended up relegated to a pdf on Sport England's website (before disappearing from cyberspace), it appeared to resonate with academics and practitioners internationally. We still receive regular emails requesting it and it has been well cited in a range of international research articles, consultancy reports and has informed revisions to national sport policies. The questions we raised about the potential of lifestyle sport to inform public policy, and the need to understand and recognise their different governance structures (such as an absence of relevant NGOs), have become even more timely. Participation in lifestyle and action sportssuch as skateboarding and surfingis increasing rapidly in many national contexts and across demographic groups, fuelled by a buoyant transnational consumer industry and culture (for detail on this growth in participation and consumption, see Wheaton 2013, Thorpe 2014, Gordon 2015, Wheaton and Thorpe 2016). This article presents an action-research study investigating a spatially sensitive innovation process of place-based experiences in a rural area of Sweden. Lately, there have been a growing number of initiatives focused on developing location-aware mobile media-geomedia technologies-to offer place-based digital experiences within tourism. Drawing on contemporary critical studies on geomedia technologies, we stress the importance of reflecting upon the implications of place-based technologies to minimise both the negative impacts on a place and the neglect of local perspectives. We conducted action-research interventions to unpack the complexity of developing place-based mediated experiences. The study makes an illustrative case of how interventions lead to more nuanced development processes of geomedia technologies while simultaneously fostering creativity. We argue that as action research allows researchers to intervene in media innovations, it identifies models for more nuanced place-based development processes, including local spatial and sociocultural perspectives.

This study examined gender perspective of Nigerian newspapers coverage of COVID-19 responses and politics associated to the responses. Agenda setting and feminist theories were used as theoretical framework. The study adopted the content analysis method. Newspaper editions that carried headline stories of COVID-19 responses and political activities were purposefully selected from 366 editions of The Punch, Vanguard, and Daily Trust newspapers published in April, May, June, and July, 2020, when COVID-19 response was high. This study then examined the 946 lead reports on the COVID-19 responses and the 302 lead reports on the political activities that appeared in newspapers, from a gender perspective. The findings reveal that lead stories on COVID-19 responses were the greatest, while politics was the fifth within the study time frame. This shows that the newspapers attached importance to COVID-19 lead stories. The decrease in the frequency of newspaper stories on COVID-19 responses following the confirmation of the index case in February was normal, as the media would ordinarily set an agenda on a quite current. Also, just 103 (11.0 percent) of the COVID-19 response lead stories were sourced from women, while 379 (34%) were obtained from males: 76 (25.0 percent) of the political lead reports were derived from women, as against 208 derived from men. It is recommended that the media continue to pay attention to serious issues in the society and particularly pay special attention to such pertinent issues from a gender-balanced frame.

Mass media cannot cure virus but can cure its spread. Framing of news stories in the Nigerian media (newspapers) is much more influenced by the economic motive of the journalists; picking news angle that arouses readers' interests in order to sell more copies in the keen competitive media market. The 2014 Ebola outbreak is a litmus test of how Nigerian media framed health issues, which depict the news perspective most interest to them. Through content analysis of two daily newspapers reports of Ebola during the outbreak in Nigeria, this study established the framing patterns employed while reporting as well as the preponderant frames used. The outcome is used to justify the priority upheld between the competing newspapers interests to sell and the media social responsibility towards containing the outbreak. The much capitalisation on treatment/containment frame portrayed the newspapers purposive interest to free the society of the outbreak, a reflection of its social responsibility role. The priority, which pose no threat on the professionalism of journalism was not only much appraised but also recommended for all media involvement in crisis reports.

Radio and Television are broadcast media meant to disseminate audio and video signal, messages, information or programs to wide range of audience. Radio and television are already playing a role in educating the populace non-formally through various educational channels and programs, but there is significant potential to capitalize on their ability to enhance development and learning curriculum content among secondary school students. This study: 1) Find out the awareness of educational radio and television programs by secondary school students in Ogbomoso 2) Investigate secondary school students access to educational radio and television programs in Ogbomoso and 3) Investigate problems militating against students' use of educational radio and television programs for learning. Questionnaire was used as instrument to elicit responses from 100 secondary school students on their awareness-on and access to seven educational radio and television programs. The findings revealed that the students were not aware of the educational radio and television programs even though they have access to it. The study recommends that teachers in secondary schools should include educational broadcasts as forms of stimulus variation that they could apply to their classes and educational programs producers on both radio and television should create enough awareness about the programs to enable students follow the programs at appropriate time.

A continuación se describe una herramienta destinada a la recogida de datos a través de la observación de conductas. La peculiaridad de esta herramienta es la finalidad para la que se construyó, esto es, la observación del alumnado en el aula, mientras trabajaban con unidades didácticas en formato electrónico que elaboraron sus propios profesores. En un segundo momento, se exponen los resultados obtenidos a través de la herramienta (análisis de datos) tras la observación en el aula.

A tool for data collection through behavior observation is described below. The peculiarity of this tool is the purpose for which it was built, that is, the observation of students in the classroom, while they worked with didactic units in electronic format that their own teachers prepared. In a second moment, the results obtained through the tool (data analysis) after the observation in the classroom are exposed.

In the current society, where the information flow has a big impact on the learner, and the learning methods differ from student to student, it is important to understand a virtual campus and its benefits. Nobody can doubt the impact of the new technologies on the educational system. In this new reality, universities must learn to work and collaborate with other universities or groups of interest in order to prepare learners to meet the requirements of the 21 st century. The solution can be a virtual campus that offers powerful tools, access to content and services, personal learning environment, enabling the student to acquire information and learn new skills. This article offers on overview of a virtual campus and the prototype of learner that is suitable for it. The accent falls on two of the skills that a learner must have: self directed learning and of course collaborative learning. The first concept refers to the learner's capabilities to be responsible of his decisions regarding the learning process and to take the initiative while the second one is based on the fact that a virtual campus is built on collaborative processes that engage stakeholders to interact and learn from each other.

Students of architecture have as a part of their training, the acquisition of Computer Aided Design proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit and other software, in order to be relevant in the global terrain.
