This dissertation will examine the sound effects of singing bowls in the energy channels or meridians of the vital body. Ryodoraku device will analyze if the sound frequency fields generated around the patient by the geometric arrangement at twelve singing bowls has a positive therapeutic impact on the meridians of the vital body.

This study was planned to evaluate the protective role of curcumin (Cur) against maternal and fetal oxidative stress and cerebral damage induced by lead (Pb) during pregnancy. In this study, positively pregnant female rats were divided into seven groups: control group, Curgroup (300 mg/kg of Cur/b.wt.), DMSO group (50% DMSO), two Pb-treated groups (exposed to 160 and 320 mg/kg b.wt./day of Pb acetate, respectively), and two groups treated with both Pb and Cur (exposed to Pb as previous groups together with 300 mg/kg b.wt./day of Cur). Treatments started from gestation day 1 (GD1) till day 20 (GD20) through oral gavage once a day, where the mother rats of different experimental groups were sacrificed to obtain the fetuses. Different chemical parameters were assessed. Brain specimens from the mother and fetal groups were processed with examination. The results displayed that Pb administration to pregnant rats resulted in a dose-dependent toxicity for both mothers and fetuses. Also, there was a significant risein lipid peroxidation and decreased antioxidant enzyme activities in the brains of the different Pb-treated groups. The histological examination of the brain of treated dams and fetuses showed marked alterations. Co-treatment of Cur along with Pb caused a significant decrease in Pb levels as compared with those treated with Pb alone, improving the oxidative condition with amelioration of the brain'shistopathological changes. In conclusion, co-administration of Cur could haveameliorative effect against Pb-induced neurotoxicity through the reduction of oxidative stress and reversal of histopathological changes.

Medicinal plants are the gift of nature and play an important role as a part of our diet to maintain health. They also serve as a versatile weapon to combat against a number of diseases. Every civilization has its own experience and knowledge of therapeutic uses of plants. The belief and observations regarding traditionally used medicinal plants, increasing the interest of people to use them against urolithiasis. Urolithiasis is a common problem afflicted for many centuries with high recurrence. World population of about 12% suffers with urolithiasis. All over the world in different countries and cultures people use plants for the prevention and cure of kidney stone according to their ethnopharmacological information. These formulations are very effective that's why these are used for hundreds of years. This review covers the eighty (80) medicinal plants of most cited family Asteraceae against urolithiasis along with their historical antiurolithiatc background shared in well-known books of Dioscorides, Pliny the Elder, Al Razi and Ibn Sina. This information was extracted to compose antiurolithiatic plants with their parts and formulations used in 21 countries such as Algeria, Scientifically proved pharmacological activities of the same part of plant have direct (litholytic) and in direct pharmacological effects like analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, astringent, demulcent, diuretic, litholytic, lithotriptic, antiurolithiatic, antispasmodic, ACE inhibition and Phospholipase A2 inhibition also shared as a plausible mechanism of action. The route of administration is oral in all cases. Hopefully, this book will not only be useful for the general public but also attract the scientific world for antiurolithiatic drug discovery. This valuable ethnopharmacological information will provide the opportunities for the future research and development of new natural antiurolithiatic compounds.

Urolithiasis is a common problem afflicted for many centuries with
high recurrence. This review covers the forty two (42) medicinal plants
of family Apiaceae used in 18 different countries such as Algeria,Bosnia, Bulgaria, Canada, Herzegovina, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Pakistan, Palestine, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey and Uzbekistan.Their historical antiurolithiatc background shared in well known books of Dioscorides (17plants), Ibn Sina (06 plants), Daoud al- Antaki (02 plants), Al Razi, Al-Baitar, Pliny the Elder and (01 plant contributed by each). Among the plant parts fruits were noted the most common (29%) followed by leaves and roots (17% each), whole plant (12%), seeds (10%), flowers (07%), stem (04%) and aerial parts (02%). In terms of preparation, decoction was observed most common (68%), followed by infusion (24%), oleo gum resin and plant gum (04% each).
The route of administration is oral in all cases. Hopefully, this review will not only be useful for the general public but also attract the scientific world for antiurolithiatic drug discovery.

Mushrooms health benefit was recognized in the Orient from several thousand years ago as globally consumption and has third largest commercially production. The genus Pleurotus (oyster mushroom) is an organoleptic fast growing fungus which belongs to basidiomycota group. Although 70 species is discovered until now for this genus, but only few of them are available in market such as Pleurotus florida, P. sajor-caju and P. ostreatus. They have been used in human diet throughout the world due to their rich nutrients such as protein, fiber carbohydrate, minerals, vitamins and lipid. It should be noted that low amount calories, Sodium, fat and cholesterol is reported in this genus. Many pharmaceutical companies in the Far East and China are viewing the medicinal mushrooms as a rich source of innovative biomedical molecules. These molecules can be extracted from different part of oyster mushroom such as fruiting body, mycelia and culture broth. Mainly they are biopolymers including polysaccharides, proteins and nucleic acids as they are more variable to carry biological information. The medicinal properties of Pleurotus spp studied by several authors, as a result antitumor, immunomodulating, antiviral, antibacterial, antigenotoxic, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, hypocholesterolamic, antihypertensive, antiinociceptive, anti-hyperglycaemic, anti-platelet-aggregating, antihepatoma, anti poliferative and antiatherosclerotic. In this chapter, biodivertsity of genus Pleurotus will be discussed regarding nutritional and bioactive compounds. Furthermore the prospective of oyster mushroom for therapeutic application and concept will be highlighted.

Abstract: The paper focuses on ethno-medicine practiced by the Chothe an indigenous tribe of Manipur. They have been practicing ethno-medicine since early days but nowadays their tradition is deteriorating with ignorance of its traditional values. But, few herbs and plants are still used in the treatment of various ailments and diseases till date. There are about 47 ethno-medicinal plants and 8 religious significant plants identified that are considered useful to our fragile health. Most of these plants identified are consumed as daily food items, while some are used for specific remedial purposes in the treatment of certain types of ailments and diseases like fever, cough, asthma, bronchitis, gastritis-ulcer, jaundice, piles, etc. Besides, some of these plants have religious significance too. The changing environmental conditions worldwide have also impacted on their food habits, health and lifestyle which now pose a threat to their existing life.

The effects of aromatherapy and pranic healing on the biofield in human individuals were evaluated through the PIP biofield imaging system. The aroma oils used were, viz. Tagetes, Frankincense, Common Lilac, French Basil, Rosemary and Palmarosa. Six healthy male young adults were subjected for the aromatherapy with these aroma oils, using the Lakhlakha (direct inhalation method) of Unani System of Medicine. Each individual was given different oil for inhalation for five minutes. The scanning of body's biofield was done before and after inhalation of aroma oils in each individual. The "front shot" was selected to make assessment and comparisons.

""Ethanol extract of Luffa cylindrica (L.) Roem., fruit peel was evaluated for anti-emetic and anti-inflammatory effect using chick emesis model and carrageenan induced rat paw edema.  The antiemetic effect was observed at a dose of 150 mg /kg body weight whereas anti-inflammatory effect was observed at doses of 500, 750 and 1000 mg /kg body weight orally. Chlorpromazine 150mg/kg and indomethacin 10mg/kg orally were used as standard anti-emetic and anti-inflammatory drugs. The anti-emetic effect was determined by calculating the mean decrease in number of retching in contrast with those of control after 10 minutes of copper sulfate (50mg/kg orally) administration. The degree of paw edema of all the groups was measured using a plethysmometer at 5th hour of carrageenan (1% w/v) administration. The extract exhibited statistically significant anti-emetic (P< 0.001) and  anti-inflammatory (P< 0.05)effects.

Brain injuries are common in professional American football players. Finding effective rehabilitation strategies can have widespread implications not only for retired players but also for patients with traumatic brain injury and substance abuse problems. An open label pragmatic clinical intervention was conducted in an outpatient neuropsychiatric clinic with 30 retired NFL players who demonstrated brain damage and cognitive impairment. The study included weight loss (if appropriate); fish oil (5.6 grams a day); a high-potency multiple vitamin; and a formulated brain enhancement supplement that included nutrients to enhance blood flow (ginkgo and vinpocetine), acetylcholine (acetyl-l-carnitine and huperzine A), and antioxidant activity (alpha-lipoic acid and n-acetyl-cysteine). The trial average was six months. Outcome measures were Microcog Assessment of Cognitive Functioning and brain SPECT imaging. In the retest situation, corrected for practice effect, there were statistically significant increases in scores of attention, memory, reasoning, information processing speed and accuracy on the Microcog. The brain SPECT scans, as a group, showed increased brain perfusion, especially in the prefrontal cortex, parietal lobes, occipital lobes, anterior cingulate gyrus and cerebellum. This study demonstrates that cognitive and cerebral blood flow improvements are possible in this group with multiple interventions.

This article presents data related to diet-retreat users at Centro Takiwasi, a therapeutic community that specializes in addiction rehabilitation based on a protocol that combines western psychotherapy with traditional Amazonian medicine. Central to Amazonian shamanism in Peru is the dieta (diet-retreat), a practice of drinking plant preparations in isolation in the rainforest while observing dietary restrictions, abstaining from social relations, sexual activities, and the use of perfumes. In the past two decades, the dieta has become increasingly popular among a global audience as an alternative form of healing for various physical and mental health conditions. We discuss socio-demographic data of the diet-retreat users at Centro Takiwasi from 2012-2017, describing as well the main plants used for this medical practice inspired by the local Amazonian traditional knowledge. Results indicate a rising interest in the shamanic diet for westerners as a complementary or integrative therapeutic experience. Further research on the Amazonian diet could contribute to implement a novel approach in herbal medicine at large.

As Hydroxychloroquine is being tested for the SARS-CoV2 pandemic, a thoughtful consideration of the history of the drug is in order. Much of the “hype” and desperation of the people, has led to the depletion of this drug in local pharmacies and in prescription by physicians.  Since the majority of hydroxychloroquine for not to say the official indication of the drug is for malaria, information needed to be provided to healthcare workers that are not accustomed to work with the drug. The focus of this mini-review article is to put into perspective what are the original indications, mechanism of action, pharmacokinetics and more importantly its drug-vitamin and drug-herbal interaction. We used various search engines for our research including Google Scholar, PubMed and Clinical Trials. The inclusion criteria were have shown positive results in single studies using hydroxychloroquine, have completed at least Phase I trials in humans and are advancing to Phase II trials and/or have large retrospective studies supporting their use. Finally, studies that are available to the public who are willing to utilize off-label treatments if prescribed by a physician, without enrolling in a clinical trial. The conclusion of this mini-review article is that if drugs that show promise for the treatment of COVID-19 should be studied entirely with a minimum of classic pharmacokinetics with vitamins and minerals more than just primary outcome on morbidly and mortality.

Presented study was an initial attempt to discover bergenin as an antiemetic compound isolated from Peltophorum roxburghii L., leaves. It is the extension of antiemetic activity from methanol extract of Peltophorum roxburghii L., leaves. Antiemetic activity was assessed using copper sulfate induced emesis in chick’s model. Bergenin (25 mg/kg, p.o.) exhibited significant antiemetic activity when compare with standard drug, chlorpromazine. This is the first time that, bergenin declares antiemetic activity. Bergenin has already been evaluated positively for its anti-inflammatory activity and now this paper going to report its antiemetic activity. Both the activities of same compound may be beneficial for drug designing against the disease having anti-inflammatory and antiemetic both symptoms just like migraine. The preliminary antiemetic evaluation of bergenin was conducted on single dose due to the low yield of Bergenin. However the result was significant with reference to the standard used. Further, isolation and purification of Bergenin is in process to establish a detail data on having different doses of Bergenin.

Background: Urtica dioica L. is a common Himalayan species which produces allergenic substances causing oedema and inflammation in humans. It has become a source of folk medicine for the treatment of many diseases. The leaves and roots both are used internally as a blood purifier and diuretic and an infusion of the plant is used for nasal and men-strual haemorrhage, diabetes, rheumatism, eczema, anaemia, hair loss, as an expectorant and antidiarrhoeal. Present study includes pharmacognostic evaluation, antioxidant activity and HPTLC analysis of Urtica dioica L. Methods: Pharmacognostic evaluation of aerial part of U. dioica has been performed as per Indian pharmacopoeia. In-vitro anti-oxidant evaluation of U. dioica has been performed using DPPH free radical scavenging activity. Ferulic acid, a poten-tial phenolic antioxidant present in this species, has been studied through HPTLC. Results: U. dioica hydro-alcoholic extract shows positive results for antioxidant activity with IC50 value of 88.33 ± 2.88 μg/ml. Standard ascorbic acid showed IC50 value of 2.8 ± 0.62 μg/ml. Ferulic acid was identified at Rf 0.61 ± 0.01 and quantified to 0.73% in this spe-cies through CAMAG HPTLC analysis. Conclusion: The pharmacognostical parameters reported can be considered as quality standards of U. dioica in herbal industry. Hydro-alcoholic extract of U. dioica showed positive in vitro antioxi-dant activity. Presence of phenolic compound suggests that antioxidant activity may be due to ferulic acid content.

Hopefully, this review will not only be useful for the general public but also attract the scientific world for antiurolithiatic drug discovery.

Introduction: Conventional cancer treatment, including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy, may not be sufficient to eradicate all malignant cells and prevent recurrence. Intensive treatment often leads to a depressed immune system, drug
resistance, and toxicity, hampering the treatment outcomes. BioBran/MGN-3 Arabinoxylan is a standardized arabinoxylan concentrate which has been proposed as a plant-based immunomodulator that can restore the tumor-induced disturbance of the natural immune system, including natural killer cell activity to fight cancer, complementing conventional therapies.

Objectives: To comprehensively review the available evidence on the effects and efficacies of MGN-3 as a complementary therapy for conventional cancer treatment.

Methods: Systematic search of journal databases and gray literature for primary studies reporting the effects of MGN-3 on cancer and cancer treatment. Results: Thirty full-text articles and 2 conference abstracts were included in this review. MGN-3 has been shown to possess immunomodulating anticancer effects and can work synergistically with chemotherapeutic agents, in vitro. In murine models, MGN-3 has been shown to act against carcinogenic agents, and inhibit tumor growth, either by itself or in combination with other anticancer compounds. Fourteen successful
MGN-3 treated clinical cases were found. Eleven clinical studies, including 5 nonrandomized, pre-post intervention studies and 6 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were located. Reported effects include enhanced immunoprofile, reduced side effects, improved treatment outcomes; one RCT established significantly increased survival rates. There are no reports on adverse events on MGN-3. Most of the clinical trials are small studies with short duration.

Conclusion: There is sufficient evidence suggesting MGN-3 to be an effective immunomodulator that can complement conventional cancer treatment. However,
more well-designed RCTs on MGN-3 are needed to strengthen the evidence base.

A large number of people suffer from gall stone worldwide and this problem is now being increased significantly due to the malnutrition, changes in living style, lack of exercise and conditions i.e. industrialization. Medicinal plants are used from centuries due to their cultural acceptability, efficacy, safety and fewer side effects as compared to modern synthetic medicines. The aim of this review is to gather the information of the plants utilized in various parts and societies of the world against gallstones. The information provided is not only useful for common people but also for the scientific community for further phytochemical, toxicological and pharmacological studies which may lead to discovery of new, more effective and safer medicines for gallstones.

Sound, light, radio frequencies and electromagnetic radiation can all be measured in hertz, or cycles per second. MSC (Avemar) is a medical nutriment of which preclinical and observational clinical studies suggested an antimetastatic activity with no toxicity. This open-label cohort trial has compared anticancer treatments plus MSC (9 g once daily) vs anticancer treatments alone in colorectal patients, enrolled from three oncosurgical centres; cohort allocation was on the basis of patients' choice. Sixty-six colorectal cancer patients received MSC supplement for more than 6 months and 104 patients served as controls (anticancer therapies alone): no statistical difference was noted in the time from diagnosis to the last visit between the two groups. End-point analysis revealed that progression-related events were significantly less frequent in the MSC group (new recurrences: 3.0 vs 17.3%, Po0.01; new metastases: 7.6 vs 23.1%, Po0.01; deaths: 12.1 vs 31.7%, Po0.01). Survival analysis showed significant improvements in the MSC group regarding progression-free (P ¼ 0.0184) and overall survivals (P ¼ 0.0278) probabilities. Survival predictors in Cox's proportional hazards were UICC stage and MSC treatment. Continuous supplementation of anticancer therapies with MSC for more than 6 months is beneficial to patients with colorectal cancer in terms of overall and progression-free survival.

BACKGROUND: The current study aimed to elucidate the protective role of combined fenugreek and a-tocopherol against cadmium induced histopathological changes in the testes. MATERIALS-METHODS: Thirty adult male albino rats divided into three equal groups 10 rats each. Group I is the control group. Group II received 5 mg/kg/ day cadmium chloride. Group III received 5 mg/kg/day cadmium chloride and 150 mg/kg/day fenugreek and 100 mg/kg/ day of a-tocopherol. The treatment of all groups was done by oral gavage for 60 consecutive days. The testes were removed and subjected to histopathological and ultrastructure study. RESULTS: Rats exposed to cadmium showed severe histopathological changes in the testicular spermatogenic series, many vacuoles and multinucleated giant cells. Treatment with fenugreek and a-tocopherol partially improved the morphological changes, reduced tissue damage and rebuilt of the spermatogonia layer. CONCLUSIONS: Fenugreek and a-tocopherol might represent a promising medicinal combination to ameliorate the toxic effects of cadmium exposure.

The scorpion poison has been used in Cuba for years to treat patients with cancer, in order to reduce their pain and the side effects of radiotherapy or chemotherapy. After a popular Italian TV show made a reportage about the Cuban scorpion poison and its goals, escoazul has become part of “materia medica” in two different local societies (the Cuban and the Italian one), where it has developed two different meanings.
In this essay, I analyze what the use of escoazul reveals about the society that produces it and the one that, despite difficulties in getting it, makes a remarkable use of it for therapeutic reason. Indeed, if it is true that the act of taking medicine involves more than the embodiment of a substance, and it reproduces health ideology (Nichter & Vuckovic 1994), it is interesting to understand what kind of health ideologies about medical pluralism are reproduced through taking escoazul as a medicine in the Cuban health system, and doing it in Italy, as an alternative strategy of self-medication​.
The case of escoazul seems to suggest there are two different ways to intend pluralism: one based of the ability (or lack of ability) of the State to handle the coexistence of different medical traditions, the other referred to the dynamic, discontinuous and fragmentary process which involves complex negotiation of social identity and morality, that the anthropology calls “health seeking behaviour” (Kleinman 1980). Finally, I shed light on the idea that medical pluralism has to do with the possibility to make a choice about one’s health inside and outside state-regulated
categories.

In this observational study, we studied the effects of a new drug combination on depression. Patients were
analyzed before and after antidepressant treatment using the Hamilton rating scale for depression (HAMD). One
group of patients was treated with the new integrated medicine consisting of two separate subcutaneous injections
of a low dose (20 mg) of sulpiride and a 2.2 ml complex homeopathic solution based on the Krebs cycle elements;
each injection was administered once daily. Another group of patients was treated with conventional therapy of 20
mg sulpiride only. The third group was treated with only the homeopathic solution. The differences in the HAMD
scores were evaluated before and after 3 months of treatment in these three groups of patients. The HAMD score
showed a statistically significant decrease in the group treated with combined sulpiride and homeopathy. This
observation suggests that a low parenteral dose (20 mg) of sulpiride, when administered subcutaneously with a
complex homeopathic remedy, may give better therapeutic results for mild and moderate depression than either
sulpiride or complex homeopathy alone.

This paper examines the arguments presented at the Royal Commission of Inquiry into chiropractic, which took place in New Zealand in 1978. Drawing on the work of Potter, it suggests that the protagonists in the debate, the medical profession and its allies on one side and the chiropractic profession on the other, developed rhetorical strategies to counter competing versions of the world. An unusual feature of this debate was that it took place before`impartial' judges. The paper demonstrates the delicate process of negotiation performed by chiropractic groups when confronting medicine in an open forum. The paper concludes that in order to resolve the competing rhetorics, the Commissioners sought for a compromise, which at once embedded chiropractic within the public health service in New Zealand and`de-radicalised' its claims.

Aims: The specific aim of this study was to evaluate for the first time the phytochemical constituents, functional group assignment, and antibacterial activities of the Philippine green-leafed Acalypha amentacea Roxb. (Maslakot-Ambulong), a wildcrafted medicinal plant of local traditional healers in the southernmost region of Mindoro province.
Methodology and results: Aqueous leaf extracts of A. amentacea Roxb. were lyophilized and subjected to qualitative phytochemical screening and FT-IR analysis. The antibacterial activity of the plant using agar-well diffusion assay revealed highest Zone of Inhibition (ZOI) in 500 mg/mL concentration for Staphylococcus aureus (21.78 mm), Escherichia coli, (21.36 mm), Serratia marcescens (21.90 mm), Klebsiella pneumoniae (21.44 mm), and Enterococcus faecalis (20.52 mm) among other concentrations suggesting dose-dependent bioactivity. Also, compared to the antibiotic Rifampicin, A. amentacea Roxb. demonstrated better bioactivity against all the selected bacteria except S. aureus (p<0.05) and comparable to Ofloxacin when against E. faecalis. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the extract was found to be at 15.6 mg/mL for all the bacteria except for S. marcescens with 31.25 mg/mL as MIC. The bioactivity of the plant may be accounted for the presence of alkaloid, phenol, flavonoid, tannin, and saponin which were supported by its functional groups like carboxylic acid, alcohols, amine, conjugated alkene, aromatic esters, and alkyl aryl ether.
Conclusion, significance, and impact of study: The results of this investigation, proved that A. amentacea Roxb. has bioactive antibacterial principles against the selected microorganisms. This also confirms its potentiality as a new source of antibacterial agents.

Introduction: Many efforts have been made to identify natural alternatives to reduce the side effects of cytotoxic drugs in cancer treatment. With this in mind, the current study aimed to investigate the cytotoxicity effects of one of the multifloral Malaysian honey, Kelulut honey (Trigona itama), as a potential natural anticancer agent in stimulating apoptosis and cell cycle arrest to a human lung adenocarcinoma epithelial cell line (A549). Methods: The cells were treated with various concentrations of T. itama honey for 24, 48 and 72 h. The cyto-toxicity and cell viability were determined using trypan blue exclusion assay (TBEA) and flow cytometric analysis. Results: The moisture content in the analysed honey was 14.3 ± 0.8%, which was within the accepted international standard. The pH, electrical conductivity and proline content were 3.17 ± 0.02, 0.47 mS/cm-0.55 mS/cm and 19.1 mg/kg 20.2 mg/kg respectively. The findings demonstrated a significant dose and time-dependent inhibitory effect of T. itama honey with the maximum cytotoxic effects observed at 72 h with 20% concentration of T. itama honey, indicating 100% growth inhibition. Meanwhile, IC 50 of T. itama honey treatment for A549 cells was determined as 0.62% v/v. Moreover, T. itama honey had a promising cytotoxic effect and proven capable of inducing cell cycle arrest at G2/M phase at 72 h of exposure with IC 50 concentration. Conclusion: This study provided prefatory evidence on T. itama honey's significant anticancer activity against human lung cancer cell lines.

Boericke's Materia Medica is not just a homeopathic text, it also contains keynotes on nutrition (aqua marina, lecithin), herbal medicine, toxicology (plumbum, natrum muriaticum, nux vomica), and trace mineral nutrition (selenium, Zincum). It provides the signs and symptoms, applications and dosage from a conservative stand point.

The health promoting effect of various fruits and vegetables is due to the presence of the plethora of bioactive compounds which have preventive and anti-proliferative activity. However, not much has been documented about functional foods in prevention and treatment of cancer. In this chapter, we have reviewed plant based functional foods which have preventive and therapeutic potential against various cancers. Several natural bioactive compounds and their association with functional foods have been enlisted with potency to prevent and/or treat cancer. Some of the bioactive compounds along with the mode of action with anti-cancer activity are curcumin, resveratrol, ellagic acid, tannic acid, chlorogenic acid, ferulic acid, caffeic acid, and kaempferol. Their role in cancer prevention has been discussed in depth.

This literature study article will present the possibility of a correlation between the energy meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which can be traced back to the recently described primo vessels (formerly known as Bong-Han ducts), their composition, and the ability of tumors to proliferate and metastasize. It is proposed that microvesicular bodies such as exosomes, known to be involved in cell-to-cell communication, immune response, and tumor proliferation, could be moving across the body via the primo vascular system. The ubiquity of the primo vascular system and its penetration through the bloodebrain barrier could also explain the ability of some peripheral tumors (e.g., breast tumor) to metastasize in the brain.

This assistant will hold a regular conversation similar to what a medical professional would, but at the feasibility of the user's home. It will monitor and track symptoms. The assistant will suggest prompts, based on prior charts and care suggested for the respective surgery. The proposed methodology is achieved by using the Rule-Based Grammar algorithm and the ML matching algorithm. The assistant's services will extend to connecting with the medical professional if any abnormalities arise and cover communication gaps, by providing the details it has gathered. This assistant has reduced the burden of the physician while providing care to the user and eliminating the need to travel distances to seek treatment for non-emergent issues along with reducing the stress to schedule an appointment. It will function as a whole care provider by being available around the clock to tend to the user.

Background: Hepatitis B is a potentially life threatening liver infection caused by
the Hepatitis B virus (HBV). It is a major global health problem that can cause chronic
infection and puts people at high risk of death from cirrhosis and liver cancer. Lack of
awareness about Hepatitis B virus, its route of transmission and mode of prevention among
health workers including natural medicine practitioners and the general public can lead
to increasing prevalence of this public health scourge affecting almost 10% of the world
population.
Aims: This study therefore, aims to increase awareness of natural medicine practitioners
of Hepatitis B virus as well as assess their attitude and practice of treatment which may help
to curb or increase the menace of the disease among the general populace.
Methods: Cross-sectional study involving Natural Medicine Practitioners located within
Southwest, Nigeria. Quantitative method of data collection was used through administration
of structured interviewer and administered questionnaires.
Results: 120 questionnaires were administered. (76.7%) of respondents have good
knowledge of Hepatitis B, majority (72.9%) confirm Hepatitis B in a patient through blood
test while (41.7%) use traditional test. Majority of (70%) uses herbal powders for the
treatment of Hepatitis B while large number of the respondent uses both herbal powders
and decoctions.
Conclusion: Sequel to the result of this research work there is needed to advocate
support for branding and regularization of herbal medicine for the treatment of hepatitis B
