Human Resources in Tourism and Hospitality

O presente trabalho buscou identificar a trajetória das atividades turísticas no espaço rural mineiro, suas diferentes modalidades, seu processo de construção e desenvolvimento. A abordagem do problema de pesquisa foi de natureza qualitativa e quantitativa. A análise dos resultados, confirmou que atividades turísticas estão inseridas na realidade do espaço rural do sul e sudoeste mineiro, que existem diferentes terminologias adotadas para diferentes realidades turísticas no campo tais como hotel-fazenda, fazenda-hotel, turismo de campo, entre outras, e que estas não abordam necessariamente a mesma modalidade de atividades. Existem atividades turísticas no espaço rural que não interagem com as tradições rurais ou mesmo com as produções agropecuárias cotidianas, mas que, na área analisada, há a peculiaridade da coexistência entre o turismo e atividades produtivas agropecuárias cotidianas.De maneira em geral, as atividades turísticas encontram na fazenda típica do sul e sudoeste mineiro um ambiente acolhedor para seu desenvolvimento.

Questo saggio esplora il destino dell’ospitalità nell’era post-umana, interrogando la progressiva scomparsa del lavoro umano dalle camere d’albergo e il conseguente svuotamento semantico del concetto stesso di servizio. Partendo dall’idea che l’ospitalità sia sempre stata una grammatica della sparizione, un’arte di gesti invisibili e di presenze discrete, il testo analizza come l’automazione trasformi questa invisibilità in assenza, convertendo l’intenzione in algoritmo e la cura in protocollo.

Nel 2075, l’hotel diventa il laboratorio di una nuova antropologia: spazi popolati da macchine empatiche, concierge olografici e sistemi predittivi che simulano attenzione senza coscienza. In questo contesto, la presenza umana si fa rara e preziosa, assumendo valore simbolico e persino sacrale. L’essere serviti da una persona non significa più ottenere efficienza, ma esperire significato.

L’articolo delinea tre modelli futuri di ospitalità: il tempio tecnocentrico, che fa della precisione e della prevedibilità la propria fede; l’enclave antropocentrica, dove l’imperfezione e la lentezza diventano lusso; e il modello ibrido, che tenta una coreografia tra intelligenze organiche e artificiali, collocando ognuna là dove la sua presenza genera senso.

Oltre la dimensione operativa, il testo propone una riflessione etica e metafisica: se il servizio è un atto di cura, allora progettare l’ospitalità del futuro significa difendere lo spazio dell’intenzione, proteggere l’opacità del soggetto e riconoscere che la perfezione è un cattivo ospite. Il “fantasma nella suite” diventa così metafora e ammonimento: ciò che il sistema tenta di espellere come inefficienza è, in realtà, la sorgente stessa del significato.

Il contributo analizza l’opera e l’eredità di Cesare Zavattini, figura centrale del neorealismo italiano, la cui scrittura e attività cinematografica si sono costantemente intrecciate con un forte senso civico e con l’urgenza di rappresentare la realtà sociale del suo tempo. Attraverso l’Edizione Nazionale delle sue opere e il lavoro di catalogazione dei soggetti inediti custoditi nell’Archivio Zavattini di Reggio Emilia, la ricerca evidenzia ricorrenze tematiche, sperimentazioni stilistiche e conflitti con la censura politica e culturale del dopoguerra. La digitalizzazione e la messa a disposizione online dei materiali consentono nuove prospettive di ricerca e di fruizione, rafforzando la dimensione partecipativa della cultura e rispondendo a finalità di Public History. L’Edizione Nazionale, pertanto, non si limita a restituire opere rimaste ai margini della produzione filmica, ma propone un percorso di rilettura critica che intreccia memoria, archivio e innovazione digitale, rinnovando il valore pubblico dell’opera zavattiniana.

This research examines the influence of responsible leadership on environmental performance and organizational
green culture within the hospitality sector. In light of increasing environmental challenges, responsible leadership—
defined by its stakeholder-oriented approach—has emerged as a critical driver of sustainable practices.
The research tests a conceptual model using data from 572 employees and managers in four- and five-star hotels
in Antalya, Türkiye. Key hypotheses include the positive effects of responsible leadership on both environmental
performance and organizational green culture. Additionally, this study investigates the mediating role of green
culture and the moderating effect of employees’ eco-friendly behavior. Results confirm that responsible leadership
positively impacts environmental performance and green culture, with green culture partially mediating
this relationship. Furthermore, eco-friendly behavior amplifies the influence of green culture on environmental
outcomes. The findings emphasize the importance of integrating responsible leadership and cultivating a green
organizational culture to enhance sustainability efforts. Practical implications for hospitality management
include prioritizing sustainability-oriented leadership and fostering eco-conscious behaviors among employees.
Future research may explore longitudinal data and expand the model to different cultural contexts.

Organizations in general, might have brooded over the work life of the employee but the conditions and interest of the employees personal life determined the outcome of his input at work. In other words, outstanding employees could perform poorly if their life at work did not meet the needs of their lives personally. It could be said that a good relationship was required between the personal life and work life of the employee as part of career development. To attain the best of an employee, management was to assist in achieving a balance in the employees life. As a way of ensuring equal employment opportunity and to promote diversity, career development had been known to be the utmost priority of human resources management concern within an organization. For an organization to experience such diversity, females were to be given such privileges as well as incompetent employees in order to take up greater tasks. By doing that, such employees would be committed to the organization and working hard to improve productivity through the organizations vision. Such employees could form competent team to change the organization for the better. Trust and goodwill was achieved for the organization through career development. As such strategies put value on the employees, it also added to the organizations value. To retain employees, career development was vital as it served as a motivation to the employees and a way to retain experienced and competent employees. Hence this study obtains its importance.

Test anxiety effects the students’ scores negatively. Test anxiety may differ as personal characteristics of students. This study aims to investigate test anxiety level of studens with personal characteristics. Test Anxiety Questionnaire and Hacettepe Personality Questionnaire are used as a measurement tool. Some results of the study as follows; female students’ test anxiety is higher than male students.Test anxiety score of students who has personality general harmony, social harmony and personality harmony scores are low, is higher than students who has personality general harmony, social harmony and personality harmony scores are high. There is negative significant relationship between personality general harmony with test anxiety of students.

Employee turnover continues to be a critical challenge in the hospitality industry, impacting service quality, operational costs, and organizational culture. This study explores the perspectives of hotel management students-future industry professionalson the causes, consequences, and potential solutions related to employee turnover. Using a structured questionnaire distributed among 315 final-year hotel management students across five institutions, the research gathered insights into perceived organizational factors, job satisfaction elements, leadership practices, and career expectations that influence employee retention. The findings reveal that lack of career growth, poor work-life balance, insufficient recognition, and ineffective management practices are primary contributors to turnover intentions. Students emphasized the importance of mentorship programs, transparent career pathways, supportive leadership, and wellness initiatives in reducing attrition rates. This paper offers valuable recommendations for hoteliers and HR managers to design employee-centered retention strategies, aligning them with the aspirations and expectations of the emerging workforce. Understanding student perceptions can bridge the gap between academic preparation and industry realities, fostering a more sustainable and committed hospitality workforce.

Hospitality industry underscores a high inequality in women’s’ empowerment and career advancements in most of the countries. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of senior managers 'brand-centered leadership on brand commitment among employees in the presence of mediating variables of employees' knowledge of brand, psychological contract and brand-to-staff fit between Karaj Capital Bank employees. The research method is descriptive and correlational. The statistical population of this study is 60 employees of Karaj Capital Bank. Because of the limited population of the population, a census or integer was used to select the sample. The research was conducted through the design and distribution of a questionnaire in the form of a face-to-face researcher. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by content validity and its reliability was confirmed by Cronbach's alpha method. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. The data were analyzed by SPSS and PLS software. The results of data analysis showed that brand-centered leadership of senior executives through staff knowledge of brand has a positive and significant effect on brand commitment. Cultural heritage plays a crucial role in increasing the attractiveness of a tourist destination. The concept of cultural heritage is increasingly expanding as the element of industrial heritage has been integrated into it. Today the industrial heritage is put forward in order to create tourist flows and in many cases it acts as a catalyst for tourism policy and development. In Greece, private and public institutions have started taking an interest in the protection and conservation of the industrial heritage. This paper seeks to study, through a field study and interviews, the conservation and tourism valorization of the industrial heritage in the prefecture of Magnesia in Central Greece, one of the richest areas in industrial heritage assets in the country. A primary survey was carried out focusing on three industrial monuments of socio-cultural importance in the prefecture of Magnesia. The objective of this paper is to demonstrate that using industrial heritage resources nowadays can combine apparently conflicting notions such as "[e]ducation and entertainment, conservation and regeneration, culture and commerce" (Alfrey & Putnam, 1992: 42). In addition, it aims to show that industrial heritage tourism in de-industrialized can lead to sustainable development by providing economic, social and environmental prosperity.

With the increase of studies on hospitality professionals over the years, it is essential to perform a review on those works. This review was conducted through the databases Web of Knowledge, Web of Science (Social Sciences Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, Medline), and Science Direct. We searched for articles published between 2000 and 2014, crossing the keywords "hospitality", "tourism", and "hotel" with the keywords "professionals", "employees", and "workers". Our aim was to identify the most studied variables on hospitality employees. The search process resulted on 3700 initial references, being selected 242. We verified that work satisfaction was studied in 51 articles and stress, burnout, and mental exhaustion in 31. For that reason, this review aggregates and analyses these results. This study has implications for the understanding of the roll of these variables in hospitality and tourism economic profitability, as well as in human resources management policies and individual well-being.

Studies done regarding labour turnover in the service industry across the world indicate that, the hospitality sector leads with many employees' changing jobs from time to time. Subsequently, some causes of labour turnover are believed to be industry-specific. Both the internal and external causes of labour turnover affect the growth, profitability and customer satisfaction whenever it occurs in the workplace. Employers see the process of staff leaving and being replaced as a natural and inevitable feature of the industry. In Kenya, very little has been documented on the causes of labour turnover. This paper is based on a study completed in April 2011. The main purpose of this study was therefore to establish the internal and external causes of labour turnover in three and five star-rated hotels in Nairobi city. Nairobi city has seven hotels which are classified as five star and nine hotels which are classified as three star hotels. The study adopted descriptive survey research design. This study involved a total of 133 permanently employed staff working in these star-rated hotels. Simple random sampling method was used to pick hotels as well as the respondents for this study. The Employee Attitude Survey revealed that, lack of balance between work and personal life was a major cause of job resignation (32%) while lack of staff involvement in decision making and creativity was (56%) respectively in both set of hotels. Consequently, employees were familiar with job requirements and departmental mission statements. The need to create conducive work environment probably prompted them to ask for flexi-hours. Poor remunerations were cited with over 60% of the respondents dissatisfied. More so, was the undefined rewarding system where 46% of the respondents strongly disagreed. The study therefore recommended that, the management should improve the working condition for the employees as well as establishing training policies that equip employees with job requirements and expectations. Finally, the need to establish a rewarding system that would motivate workers other than monetary remunerations is also recommended.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of green human resource management practices (GHRMP) on an organization's sustainability, which are intertwined and fragmented in a resource based view discipline. For this purpose a survey was conducted in healthcare services and manufacturing organizations in Saudi Arabia. But the study applies equally to hotels. Non probability chain sampling was used a total 136 completed questionnaires were used in the analysis. Descriptive and inferential statistics such as mean, standard deviation, cronbach alpha confirmatory factor analysis CFA, measurement and structural models were also used. For this purpose SPSS 25 and AMOS-SEM 18 were used for statistical analysis. The model shows that GHRMP have a positive and significant impact upon sustainability. Purpose-The purpose of this study is to explore the potential for tourism and hospitality education and training through immersive metaverse learning. This study examines familiarity levels, perceived benefits and challenges and proposes a framework for metaverse adoption in education and training. Design/methodology/approach-Grounded in Diffusion of Innovation Theory, this qualitative study analyses 45 in-depth interviews with students and academics in Saudi Arabia. The thematic analysis identifies adoption stages and factors influencing metaverse readiness in tourism education. Findings-While metaverse can enhance engagement in skill development, it may also include barriers such as accessibility, data privacy and technical readiness. Adoption varies by generation and digital proficiency. Younger students and early-career academics embrace its experiential benefits, while senior academics cite cost, infrastructure and complexity concerns. This study develops a DOI-based framework to evaluate metaverse adoption in tourism education. Research limitations/implications-The findings of this study are context-specific and qualitative. Future research should validate the proposed model across different educational and cultural contexts using longitudinal and mixed-method approaches. Practical implications-The metaverse Integration Framework provides actionable guidance for educators, policymakers and institutional leaders. This study supports phased integration, risk mitigation and alignment with governance structures, while addressing issues such as digital equity, funding and compliance. Social implications-Metaverse technologies offer opportunities to democratise access to high-quality, immersive education, particularly in under-resourced or remote regions, thereby enhancing employability and workforce resilience. Originality/value-This research contributes to the literature on metaverse adoption in tourism and hospitality training and education by introducing a DOI theory-informed framework. The findings of this study offer theoretical insights that bridge technology adoption models with educational practice, providing a foundation for future digital education and training research.

The hospitality industry, particularly in metropolitan hubs like Kolkata, faces a persistent challenge in retaining skilled human resources. High attrition rates disrupt organizational continuity and reflect underlying gaps in employer-employee relationships. This study, titled "Bridging the
Attrition Gap: The Impact of HR Strategies on Employer-Employee Relations in FHRAI-Registered Hotels in Kolkata," seeks to explore the critical link between HR practices and employee retention in the context of FHRAI-affiliated hotels.
The research investigates how current human resource management (HRM) strategies affect employee satisfaction, engagement, and loyalty. Through a mixed-method approach—combining quantitative surveys with qualitative interviews—data is collected from HR professionals, managerial staff, and frontline employees across selected FHRAI-registered hotels in Kolkata. The study critically examines areas such as recruitment and onboarding, performance management, career development, work-life balance, and employee recognition systems. Initial findings suggest that inconsistent HR implementation and lack of personalized engagement contribute significantly to turnover intentions. Conversely, hotels that have adopted proactive HR practices tend to enjoy stronger employer-employee bonds and lower attrition rates.
The paper argues that a strategic overhaul of HR practices is essential for sustainable talent retention in the hospitality sector.
By offering practical insights and policy recommendations, the study aims to aid hotel management and HR departments in aligning organizational goals with employee well-being. This alignment is key to fostering a resilient and motivated workforce in Kolkata’s dynamic hotel industry.

This paper examines the critical role of Strategic Human Resource Development (SHRD) in enhancing public sector performance, particularly within the context of development administration. Public sector organizations, which are often the largest employers in many countries, face increasing pressures to demonstrate accountability, efficiency and high service quality. The shift from traditional human resource practices to SHRD aligns human resource activities with organizational goals, fostering a workforce capable of meeting the dynamic challenges of public service provision. Through exploring the integration of SHRD into public sector strategies, this paper highlights the importance of aligning human capital development with performance objectives to improve organizational effectiveness. It also addresses the unique challenges of implementing SHRD in the public sector, given its focus on public value, accountability and equity. The paper concludes that while SHRD offers significant potential for enhancing public sector performance, its success depends on a tailored, context-sensitive approach that balances performance-driven goals with the core values of public administration.

Little research has been conducted on emotional intelligence (EI) in the hospitality industry. Therefore, this study was designed to investigate the relationship between specific socio-demographic variables and the EI levels of hospitality industry professionals. Although few significant differences were found between the groups, the professionals in this study possess above average levels of EI, which may be indicative of their achievement and longevity in a service-based industry.

Mobile communities of backpackers represent a challenging population to study because of frequent and longduration of movement, distributed group structure, and adventuresome activities. Five types of mobile group studies are presented here, which address challenges posed by this context to existing methods. Methods used include: contextual interviews, site surveys, participatory activities, field trips, team ethnography, contextual questionnaires, and electronic diary methods. The structure of each method is described, reflected upon and recommendations are made for its effective use. Many existing mobile and CSCW methods have difficulties when applied to mobile groups, and many are not designed for exploratory research dealing with product conceptualization or requirements analysis. We propose that improvising with a diverse set of available methods is appropriate for many mobile research situations. It may also be advantageous to use multiple methods which explore different aspects of target user groups' behaviour from a variety of perspectives. Furthermore, piloting studies to test methods with new user groups or situations, and using in-situ methods is advisable.

Maintaining a good working environment devoid of interpersonal conflict is critical for the survival of a company in a competitive environment such as the hospitality sector as it can greatly influence performance. This study aimed to investigate the influence of socio-demographic factors on the academic performance in mathematics of Grade 9 learners at Apyao National High School. The academic performance and socio-demographic profile of the learners-including gender, parents' monthly income, distance from home to school, and ethnicity-were determined using an adapted survey questionnaire. Descriptive statistics such as frequency distribution tables were used to summarize the academic performance and sociodemographic profile. To examine statistical differences and relationships, independent ttest was applied for gender, while Kruskal-Wallis test was used for parents' income, ethnicity, and distance from home to school. Results revealed that the learners' academic performance in mathematics was very satisfactory. While gender, income, and distance from home to school showed no significant relationship to academic performance, ethnicity was found to have a significant relationship. These findings suggest that certain socio-demographic factors may influence student performance in mathematics. It is recommended that educational stakeholders consider these factors when designing support mechanisms to promote equity in academic achievement.

This research aimed to: 1) study the process of developing a health resort business model; 2) create a health resort business model; and 3) propose guidelines for developing a health resort business model that supports the aging society by providing high-value services for small hotel businesses. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining quantitative and qualitative research. For the quantitative aspect, questionnaires were administered to 400 older people, and the data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. In contrast, the qualitative aspect involved in-depth interviews with representatives from small hotels, hospital, Subdistrict Administrative Organization, and public health officials at Sub-district Health Promoting Hospital, involving 100 individuals. The qualitative data were subjected to content analysis. The findings revealed that: the elderly engaged in health promotion and care activities such as disease prevention, rehabilitation, and medical treatment. They required health services in terms of physical, economic, social, and mental/emotional aspects. Health resorts were found to effectively care for the elderly by providing a supportive environment, emergency preparedness, expert care, and appropriate facilities. Guidelines for developing health resort prototypes emphasize reliability, proper licensing, comprehensive facilities, a good environment, food and activities, safety standards, and alternative medicine services to address health issues.

The national minimum wage policy implementation has impacted hotel employees. Likewise, hotel operators have had to restructure compensation systems potentially influencing employees' compensation satisfaction, work behaviors, and quality of life. This study aims to examine the relationships between employee perception of the minimum wage policy, compensation satisfaction, work behaviors (i.e. work motivation, work engagement, job satisfaction, turnover intention), and quality of life. Hotel employees in Malaysia (n ¼ 239) completed an electronic survey. Results of the correlational analysis showed that all but one of the relationships tested were significant. Implications, limitations, and future research recommendations are provided.

This study exclusively analyzes five-star hotels in the city of Nairobi, Kenya, and its aim is to examine how differentiation strategies, low-cost strategies, and focus strategies influence the success of these five-star hotels. While previous research has investigated how general competitive approaches have broadly influence outcomes within the banking, telecommunications, and airline industries, not much has been studied on the hospitality industry thus leading to this detailed investigation with a focus on the hospitality industry. This study was based on the following theories; Resource based view (RBV), Porter's Generic Competitive Strategies, and SERVQUAL Model Theory. The individuals in charge of the various divisions and the highest executives of the hotel will be the focus of the census survey. Information will be gathered by means of both closed and open-ended surveys. A combined quantitative and qualitative approach will be taken with a descriptive research design. This researcher utilized a census approach to investigate all General Managers and five Heads of Departments working within the nine open 5-star hotels located in the city of Nairobi resulting to a sample size of a hundred and eight Managers. The researcher used questionnaires with both open and close-ended questions with a five-point Likert scale to record the responses. The questionnaire was administered using a drop and pick later method to the sampled respondents. Data processing and analysis used both descriptive and inferential statistics using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and content analysis. One-way ANOVA at a 95% confidence level was used to assess if the realization of competitive strategies translates to a reasonable impact on organizational performance. Data was presented a tabulated format, bar charts, and graphs. The study concluded that competitive strategies had a very positive and direct relationship with the effectiveness of the selected hotels in Nairobi Kenya. The study recommends that hospitality managers to incorporate competitive practices and strategies such as maintaining strong link with their most promising suppliers, having viable applications and digitalization to help improve their interactions with the target and potential clients as well as harnessing of more customer potential globally thus, helping to improve the overall efficiency in the performances of organisations in the hospitality industry.

Human Resource (HR) practices of the hotel industry in Delhi NCR have undergone a drastic change in recruitment policies, talent management, technological advancements and sustainability initiatives. The purpose of this study is to explore how luxury hotels and premium restaurants are adapting their HR strategies in the selection, turnover, retention, and management of the workforce. The study synthesizes key findings from the past research using a peer-reviewed literature analysis and assesses HR challenges as well as innovative solutions by leading hotel chains. The studies focus on shift in the recruitment criteria, high attrition rate of 30-35% and the role of exclusive talent management (ETM) in shaping employee perceptions. Additionally, the findings of research stress that training, mentoring, and technology adoption have strong influence on the employee engagement and service quality. Green HRM practices have also been investigated regarding their use in employer branding and sustainable operations. In addition to the perspectives of the customers, the service quality and guestroom amenities of the hospitality sector give us other insights about the changing landscape of the sector. The results show that for maintaining competitive advantages, HR innovation must be continuous, strategic retention initiatives must be initiated, and technological integration must be achieved. The contribution of this study is to the HR trends in the hospitality industry and provides important implication for stakeholders who want to improve employee satisfaction, service quality and organizational.

Growing demand for and supply of adventure tourism activities, particularly packaged adventure holidays, means there is a need to understand adventure tourists. At the start of my research journey, the embryonic nature of adventure tourism research and the limited extant literature about adventure tourists provided the impetus to develop understanding of these tourists as a unique group of adventurers. Accordingly, the aim of this programme of research is to demonstrate the empirical and conceptual contributions that my published works make to the knowledge and understanding of adventure tourism participation and consumption. My research ethos reflects an interpretivist approach and my empirical publications predominantly report on qualitative data drawn from interviews and surveys with adventure tourists. ABSTRACT
This study aimed at assessing the factors influencing employee’s performance in hospitality industry by taking a case study of Classic hotel in Kigali-Rwanda. This study was guided with the following specific objectives: to identify factors influencing the employee’s performance in Classic hotel, to find out challenges facing employee’s performance in hospitality industry and to suggest solutions to the challenges facing the employee performance in hospitality industry in Rwanda. Empowerment, transformational leadership, teamwork, work environment are the factors influencing positively employee performance in the hospitality industry. The following challenges were found: insufficient remuneration, inadequate qualified staff and lack of enough training. Recruiting professional and training the staff, collaboration on the problem solving ,communication and share information were established solutions. The data used in this study were collected using the questionnaire and interview tool on the sample size of 78 employees of Classic hotel. The result shows that, the correlations between employee performance and the empowerment, transformational leadership, teamwork, and work environment is more than 0.9 which indicate very song correlated. Regarding to challenges facing the employee performance in hospitality industry, the following were found inadequate qualified staff and training program with 83% and insufficient remuneration with 67%,. In the end, respondents of the study revealed the following as the solutions to enhance the employee performance in hospitality industry in Rwanda: recruiting qualified employee and training staff with 88% and collaboration on the solving problem with 86%. The study concluded that there is high relationship between independent variables and dependent variables. The study recommended the managers to retain the qualified employees and motivate them.

The data were processed using a Cost Accounting model elaborated by UniCeSV (Centre for the Strategic Development of the Wine Sector, University of Florence) to classify costs according to production phases and production factors. The study was completed using a Hierarchical Cluster Analysis (HCA) approach to investigate the relation between cost structures and business typologies. The implementation of the Cost Accounting model and the HCA showed a strong relationship between how wineries are organized and how costs are structured. Moreover, the weight of geographical localization (in terms of belonging to a specific Denomination of Origin area) has proved to be a key determinant in the shape of the cost structures of wineries.

Hospitals are convenient settings for the deployment of context-aware applications. The information needs of hospital workers are highly dependent on contextual variables, such as location, role and activity. While some of these parameters can be easily determined, others, such as activity are much more complex to estimate. This paper describes an approach to estimate the activity being performed by hospital workers. The approach is based on information gathered from a workplace study conducted in a hospital, in which 196 h of detailed observation of hospital workers was recorded. Contextual information, such as the location of hospital workers, artifacts being used, the people with whom they collaborate and the time of the day, is used to train a back propagation neural network to estimate hospital workers activities. The activities estimated include clinical case assessment, patient care, preparation, information management, coordination and classes and certification. The results indicate that the user activity can be correctly estimated 75% of the time (on average) which is good enough for several applications. We discuss how these results can be used in the design of activity-aware applications, arguing that recent advances in pervasive and networking technologies hold great promises for the deployment of such applications.

This study investigates the implementation of Agile HRM as a strategic approach to enhancing organisational efficiency in dynamic business environments, with a focus on ING Bank, It examines how Agile HRM practices have reshaped the bank's organisational structure, improved employee engagement, and fostered innovation. Employing a descriptive-analytical methodology, the study analyses data from ING Bank's transformation during 2016-2024. Findings reveal that Agile HRM significantly enhanced operational efficiency by streamlining processes and reducing costs, Employee satisfaction and innovation were bolstered through improved transparency and development opportunities. The study recommends integrating Agile HRM into strategic planning, prioritising its development.

This research study identifies the context of the representation of women workers in the hotel industry and understands the obstacles to women joining the hotel sector in order to resolve the country's areas of society and economy. There is a significant need for female human resource in this industry. Hence based on EKHO hotels, the reason for low female participation in the hotel sector has been addressed.

Bu çalışmanın temel amacı; otel çalışanlarının sosyotropik kişilik veya otonomik kişilik özelliklerinden hangisine yakın olduklarını belirlemek ve söz konusu kişilik özelliklerinin örgütsel özdeşleşme düzeyleri üzerinde olumlu/olumsuz etkilerini incelemektir. Araştırmanın evrenini, Balıkesir'de faaliyet gösteren otellerin çalışanları oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplamak için, nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden anket tekniği kullanılmış ve soru formu 174 çalışana uygulanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde yüzde, aritme¬tik ortalama, Pearson korelâsyonu ve çoklu regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre, otel çalışanlarının sosyotropi puan ortalaması =74,25 otonomi puan ortalaması =93,77 ve örgütsel özdeşleşme puan ortalaması ise =3,97'dir. Bulgular, otonomik kişilik özelliğinin alt boyutu olan kişisel başarının örgütsel özdeşleşmeyi pozitif yönde etkilediğini ortaya koymuştur. Ayrıca sosyotropik kişilik özelliğinin alt boyutlarından ayrılık kaygısının örgütsel özdeşleşmeyi negatif yönde etkilediği belirlenmiştir.

As generational diversity becomes the current organizational composition, which poses unique challenges in the business environment, it is imperative for leaders of the organization to understand the values of the multigenerational workforce to propel action. Each generation brings unique perspectives to the workplace and divergences may result in conflicts that, when unresolved, could adversely impact the organization. As such, leadership theories are posited, which help us understand the psychological and social impacts of effective leadership. This study aims to determine if a statistically significant difference exists in the leadership inclination among generations and whether generational cohort is a predictor of leadership inclination. The quantitative dataset lent itself to Cronbach's alpha, which was employed for reliability testing. Each of the dimensions achieved Cronbach alpha values of 0.7 or higher which indicate an acceptable internal test correlation of the items. Three hundred eighty-six (386) multigenerational respondents from various organizations participated and findings of the study reveal that generational cohort does not significantly influence leadership inclination but data suggests that Generation Y and Z may have a slightly stronger preference for modern, inclusive, and ethical leadership compared to Generation X and Baby Boomers. These align with indicators of authentic and participative leadership.
