This figure, inherited from centuries of religious iconography, is often presented as an absolute judge, attentive to prayers and ready to reward or punish according to the behavior of the faithful. It is a profoundly anthropomorphic representation: God as a superhuman, with emotions, preferences, and even whims.

Today, we see on social media a growing revolt against God, against Scripture, against religion. But this revolt, sometimes legitimate, stems from a frustration with an inherited image: an anthropomorphic, masculine, judgmental God who rewards the good and punishes the wicked. This figure, deeply rooted in Western tradition, is read literally (especially in the Old Testament, where the solution to error is often death). It is no wonder that many reject this God. But do they reject the divine, or merely its caricature?

So let's analyze the premise of the title: "Would God be a form of energy?" Let's start with ourselves.

Benchmarking makes it possible to identify low-performing buildings, establishes a baseline for measuring performance improvements, enables setting of energy conservation targets, and encourages energy savings by creating a competitive environment. Statistical approaches evaluate building energy efficiency by comparing measured energy consumption to other similar buildings typically using annual measurements. However, it is important to consider different time periods in benchmarking because of differences in their consumption patterns. For example, an office can be efficient during the night, but inefficient during operating hours due to occupants' wasteful behavior. Moreover, benchmarking studies often use a single regression model for different building categories. Selecting the regression model based on actual data would ensure that the model fits the data well. Consequently, this paper proposes Energy Slices, an energy benchmarking approach with time slicing for existing buildings. Time slicing enables separation of time periods with different consumption patterns. The regression model suited for the specific scenario is selected using cross validation, which ensures that the model performs well on previously unseen data. The evaluation is carried out on a case study involving two sports arenas; event energy efficiency is benchmarked to identify low-performing events. The case study demonstrates the Energy Slice procedure and shows the importance of model selection.

This option is not available to the vast majority of school systems and the student body must remain in the building while the renovation takes place. Students are moved from space to space in the building as renovation takes place. Obviously the renovation process is a disruption to the educational process. Some research substantiates this assertion (Maxwell, 1996). She found that the student achievement scores dropped during the period of renovation in both the third and sixth grade mathematics and reading scores. The student scores increased when the students returned to newly renovated buildings. There is some recent research, however, that indicates student performance during the renovation process is not as disrupted as previously thought. Mayo (2010), Norman (2014), and Thompson (2014) investigated the influence a renovation had upon student achievement while enrolled in a building during a renovation. They compared student scores during three time periods-pre-renovation, during the renovation and post renovation. All of the researchers found there was no significant difference in student scores during all three phases of the renovation process. Additional research (Wheeler, 2014) suggests that teachers may be doing something to keep student performance at a high level during a disruption of the educational program. In Wheeler's study of teacher reaction to such a disruption, teachers suggested that close collaboration, focusing upon the necessary elements of the curriculum, increased use of technology, and collaboration of faculty to provide resources for alternative activities in the classroom might help keep students on task and perform better. As our knowledge of this end use matures, it is essential to step back and evaluate the degree to which energy efficiency programs have successfully realized energy savings and where savings opportunities have been missed.

The purpose of this paper is to execute a comparative study of green school guidelines with the review of the current literature. The method of this study is to use secondary data regarding green school design elements in foreign countries’ school. The data assembled from various countries will be discussed with regards to the applications of its elements into Malaysian green school design. The result of the comparative study will be used to identify the design elements of Malaysian school designs towards a green and sustainable building. This paper examines the factors that affect green office building investment in Malaysia. The objective of this paper is to establish the attractiveness of returns expected by property investors in green office properties. As investment in green office buildings is a relatively new concept, local literature in this area is scarce and most findings are drawn from external publication. Results from empirical studies are used to categorize risk and return factors. Return on investment (ROI) factors such as capital appreciation, higher rental income and improved cost saving factors are expected to enhance future demand and supply of such properties in the country. Due to the fact that the underlying factors of demand and supply may change over time, investment in green office properties is exposed to the vagaries of the market. Thus, before taking the risk of investing in green office properties, there is a need for the investor to consider the pros and cons of this venture. To minimise the risks entailed in green office investment, the investor needs to understand the risks and returns involved. It is expected that investment in green office buildings will lead to a new dimension in the real estate industry of Malaysia. Investors are beginning to take a keen interest in green office buildings because of their potentially higher returns compared to non-green buildings.

Despite a high academic interest in eco-innovation, a clearly defined common understanding of the characteristics of eco-innovations is largely missing. Existing research on this topic is still mostly qualitative, fragmented, difficult to compare or aggregate and generally specialised on certain aspects. Quantitative research is deemed necessary to improve the knowledge base and measurement of essential aspects regarding the characteristics of eco-innovation. The aim of this study is to quantitatively explore the underlying structure of the eco-innovation concept based on the current knowledge of those characteristics and to advance on the quantification of a four-dimensional framework proposed in the past (Carrillo-Hermosilla et al., 2010). Industrial small and medium-size enterprises in Spain were asked to quantify a set of variables according to the perceived relevance for the firm of a realized eco-innovation. Factor Analyses were conducted on 197 collected data sets. Our statistical results reveal how the identified characteristics shape an underlying structure of eco-innovations along the four dimensions (design, user, product-service and governance) proposed in that article. The analysis identifies the factors which make up these dimensions, allowing a characterization of eco-innovations with considerably less complexity. The final impact of eco-innovation on the environment goes in tandem with and is usually mediated by considerable impacts at the company level (including internal management and organizational practices) which lead to changes in products and processes. Furthermore, our results stress the critical role played by users and clients' engagement and acceptance and cooperation with other stakeholders in the eco-innovation process. The eco-innovation may entail radical, path-breaking changes in existing relations between the firm and its production network. This article contributes to advance the understanding of the phenomenon by providing a comprehensive view and a common perspective.

Additionally discussed is the relationship between parental involvement, school building conditions, and student achievement. In almost all cases, the better the built environment is, the more positive the impact on students' test scores is: test scores between students in substandard buildings compared to students in better school environments differed by 5 to 17 percentile points. Also, in cases where there was greater parental involvement in fundraising for school purposes, the school buildings were in better condition. The conclusion is that money spent on school building improvement is money well spent. While it is known that better prepared graduates of the local school system are more productive citizens, the degree of influence the school environment has on later life remains unknown. Although previous contributions have acknowledged the existence of different types of eco-innovations (e.g., product vs. service or incremental vs. radical), a precise conceptualization of eco-innovation types, which takes into account its multifaceted character, is missing. Yet such a conceptualization is crucial in order to understand how ecoinnovations contribute to a sustainable transition, how policy makers can promote different eco-innovation types, and how business practitioners can develop eco-innovations. This article covers this gap in the literature. Its aim is twofold: 1) to develop a quantitative method to categorise different eco-innovation types in a particular setting, taking into account their distinct features and dimensions; 2) to apply this method in a given sector and country, building a taxonomy of eco-innovation types. It draws on a survey of 197 Spanish industrial small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) which developed or adopted an eco-innovation between 2012 and 2013. The statistical analyses reveal the existence of a taxonomy of five eco-innovation types: systemic, externally driven, continuous improvement, radical (technology-push initiated) and eco-efficient. They differ in their technoeconomic configurations, contribution to environmental sustainability and corporate goals and required changes in the firms. This paper examined the determinants of eco-innovation from an evolutionary economics perspective. The focus was on consumer demand (pull) as a determinant of eco-innovation in the sale of consumer appliances (refrigerators). The research also addressed the effect of life cycle costing (LCC) and eco-labels on consumer demand for refrigerators. A mixed methodology approach combining quantitative analysis of web site sales was combined with qualitative content analysis of refrigerator product descriptions. The Energy Star eco-label and other environmental claims made in product descriptions were found to drive consumer demand for refrigerators. The research also found that consumers exhibited the willingness to pay (WTP) a premium for energy efficient and eco-innovative products when purchasing refrigerators from the Home Depot web site.

This releases thousands tons of CO 2 into the atmosphere every year. Another cause of these emissions is the burning of gasoline for transportation, which continues to increase because of our demand for cars and also our increasing worldwide consumption, resulting in an increasing need to transport goods. Also, forests store large amounts of carbon, so deforestation is causing larger amounts of CO 2 to remain in the atmosphere. Nevertheless, there are potential ways to solve these problems, or at least reduce the effects. Firstly, governments need to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and promote alternatives. Plant-derived plastics, bio-diesel, wind power and solar power are all things that are a step in the right direction. But these things merely represent solutions in a fuzzy manner. So brief discussion is strongly needed in order to enforce the application of these strategies in modern real life scenario. More precisely, we need to mention the specific areas with corresponding remedies. However, in this paper the authors concentrate on only one such field-The modern IT and Electronics Industry and here an attempt is made to analyze different green strategies that is applicable in this particular area. In order to make this green movement a big success, governments need to take some initiatives such as use of electronic documents in governments sectors rather using paper documents, because all we know paper production industry is totally based on forest removal program, this could be dangerous for environment. Moreover the maintenance of paper documents is a highly tedious job and security issue is also a matter. This paper uses lease level analysis to report on the effect of the presence of 15 green sustainable building features on office rents in an effort to unpack the independent impact of the bundle of attributes contained in green labels such as LEED. The results show that LEED conveys to the market the presence of attributes like superior air, efficient systems and recycling. However, the research also demonstrates significant independent rental premiums for features such as access to natural light, efficient HVAC, water conservation, public transit, an electric car charging station and access to services even with the presence of green labels. This paper examines study findings on the relationship between the educational facility and the student variables of academic achievement and student behavior, revealing the extent that thermal environment, proper illumination, space, and equipment and furnishings have on students.
