藏经阁是唐宋佛寺配置中重要的建筑类型,然而有关其来源与早期建筑形态一直未得深入探讨。本研究通过对汉魏两晋南北朝时期佛教经典崇拜思潮和佛典传入、翻译、搜检以及经录编撰情况的全面考察,指出真正意义上的藏经建筑可追溯到四世纪晚期慧远在庐山东林寺营造的般若台。研究推测该建筑的平面和空间形式,揭示其功能布置、经典原型、营造思想、以及由此开启的南北朝经台传统。本研究为讨论佛教建筑中国化提供了一个新视角,即域外建筑文化的传播可以不依赖视觉形象,仅由语言文字的转译重构得以影响中国的建筑实践。

文章以剑川石窟王者头冠为切入点,并梳理了现存云南地区南诏大理国时期的王者头冠图像,分为两种类型。通过比较分析,并结合历史文献,认为王者头冠与佛或菩萨的头冠紧密相关。其形成与印度、东南亚和中原宗教文化交流密不可分。王者头冠的产生归根结底还是宗教在政治社会生活中的主导作用。统治者也声称自身为菩萨的化身,或者以“转轮王”自居。这样的观念成为该冠饰在南诏大理国存在的缘由。该冠饰指示着王者身份的转化,成为神圣佛王的表征。
