(MAUTECH). The objectives of the study included purpose of OPACs use satisfaction of users through approaches applied in the OPACs and level of satisfaction with OPACs. The target population of the study was 20,162 and a sample size of 1217 using Krejcie and Morgan (1978) table for determining sample size for research activities. Self-designed questionnaire was the instrument used for data collection. A total of 1,217copies of questionnaire were distributed to undergraduate students of Federal Universities under study, out of which 828 that (68%) were retrieved and found valid for analysis. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics of frequency counts to answer the research questions, while results are presented in tables. It was concluded that OPAC can be used to place requests for library materials, it can also be used to reserve library materials and can be used to check due dates for borrowed library materials yet the users were not aware. Therefore, the librarians should create more awareness on the benefits of OPAC to library users.

While people discuss the bad side of COVID-19 pandemics, such as death, jobless, bankruptcy, there is a positive impact on library services. Initially, ICT was considered a competitor that threatens the existence of libraries in Indonesia, now it has become a tool used to maintain the existence of libraries during the COVID-19 pandemic. This can be seen from the innovations made by the Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta Library which rely on ICT to adjust library services during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach. Data obtained from 2 librarians who work in the Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta Library through the process of interviews, field observations, and analysis of the library website. It is known that there were various service adjustments made by the Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta Library during the COVID-19 pandemic. Onsite services are tightened by implementing the Health protocol, and online services provide a variety of facilities that can be accessed independently by the user. Online services maximize the use of ICT to reach users who are outside the region. The COVID-19 pandemic has encouraged libraries to maximize ICT and improve librarians' ability to operate ICT.

This  study  identified  works  skills  required  by  students  of  Colleges  of  Education  in  the  mechanical processing of cassava into garri in South-West, Nigeria. It employed descriptive survey research design. Three research questions guided the researcher. Thisstudy was carried out in South-western states of Nigeria. A total population of Eight hundred and eighty-six (886) comprising of one hundred and forty (140)  Agricultural education  lecturers  and  seven  hundred  and  forty-six  (746)  Agricultural extension officers was used for the study while a total of three hundred and sixty-eight respondents were selected using multi-stage sampling techniques. Instrument for data collection was a structured Questionnaire. The internal consistency of the instrument was determined to be 0.99 using the Cronbach. Alpha Model. The SPSS version 26.0 was used to analyse the data using the mean and standard deviation. The findings of  the  study  revealed  that  N.C.E  students  required  10  items  on  work-skills  in  planning  activities  for processing  cassava  into  garri,  9  items  on  work  skills  were  needed  in  the  mechanical  processing  of cassava into garri and 10 items on work-skills were needed in marketing activities in the processing of cassava  into  garri.  It  was  recommended  by  the  researchers  that  the  identified  work-skills  should  be incorporated  into the  curriculum  of  agricultural  education  programmes  and  also  the  government  of south –west  states  should  develop  training  modules  with  these  identified  work-skills  to  be  used  in training  youths in  the  different  skills  acquisition  centres,  innovative  vocational  centres  etc.  located within and outside their geographical region.  Keywords:Work-skills, Students, Colleges of Education, Agricultural Education, Curriculum, South-West

The study investigated the influence of work design and ICT Use on the service delivery of librarians in private universities in Oyo State. A survey research design was adopted and data was collected from 374 undergraduates selected from a total population of 15,095 using simple random sampling. The method of data analysis used in the study is descriptive and inferential statistics, specifically simple linear regression and multiple linear regression at a 5% level of significance. Findings revealed that work design (Adj R 2 = 0.177, F (1, 356) = 77.866, p < 0.05) and ICT Use (Adj. R 2 = 0.055, F (1,356) = 21.839, p < 0.05) significantly influence service delivery of librarians in private university in Oyo state respectively and jointly (Adj R 2 = 0.176, F (2, 356) = 39.121, p < 0.05). The study concludes that work design and ICT Use contribute to the quality service delivery of librarians in private universities in Oyo State. Recommendation includes the provision of ICT tools and the implementation of user feedback for quality service delivery.

Turnover intention among librarians is on the high side and poses significant challenges such as loss of experienced staff, disruptions in library services and increased costs of recruitment and training. The study investigated the influence of work-life balance, reward systems and organizational justice on turnover intention. Survey research design was adopted in this study. Population for the study comprised 412 librarians from universities across SouthWest , Nigeria. A sample size of 205 was determined using Yamane's formula. Proportionate sampling technique was used to select the librarians. A structured and validated questionnaire was used for data collection with 97% response rate. Data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings of the study revealed that work-life balance (R 2 = 0.451; β = 0.593, t = 3.500, p < 0.05), reward system (R 2 = 0.388; β = 0.377, t = 4.442, p < 0.05) and organizational justice (R 2 = 0.510; β = 0.314, t = 4.058, p < 0.05) had a significant and joint influence on turnover intentions of librarians in universities in SouthWest , Nigeria (Adj.R 2 = 0.427, F(2, 195) = 166.541, p < 0.05). The study concluded that work-life balance, reward system and organisational justice contributed to turnover intention of librarians in universities in SouthWest , Nigeria. It recommended that library and university administrators should formulate and implement policies to improve work-life balance, reward system and sustain organizational justice, in order to minimize turnover intention.

The quest for ICT usage or on-line connectivity for the benefit of library users is climaxed with unprecedented innovation changes in academic libraries even in Ogun State. Survey research design and 112 librarians in Ogun State were used. 88 respondents were determined using Krejcie and Morgan table. Multi-stage sampling technique used to select participants. Questionnaire (self-constructed) was used as data analyzed with descriptive statistics. Findings revealed big-data, virtual/e-library-services, digital interface, IT inclined staff among the innovative ideas; while IT-based-services, access to electronic catalogues, virtual references, open access repositories, mobile library services, inter-library services, and social media packages were the innovation changes in academic libraries. Lack of financial resources, poor electricity/infrastructure, poor network/lack of R&D and innovation policies were among challenges of the libraries. The study concluded that academic libraries are to cater for all innovation challenges in Ogun State. It was recommended to imbibe collaboration and adequate funding for innovation changes.

Local history of Assam is very important for the development of the whole Assamese community. Assam is the place where ample of indigenous inhabitant cherishes their livelihood with utmost care and sincerity to themselves and to others time to time. Therefore, the land of Assam has a very unique resemblance of culture and tradition. It is very important to know and study the local history of the different indigenous people of the Assamese community for preserving their culture, tradition and heritage. Simply preservation did not satisfy the ethnic value of the people. These indigenous people are now an agent of the globalised world. Until they became a part of the globalized world their livelihood could not be improve. The globalization somewhere affects the indigenous people of Assam. This is happen due to the lack of literature regarding local history of the region and negligence, lack of preservation of the old literature and actual dissemination. The Library and Information Centres are the good measure and organization to provide information related to local history of a region. The libraries are now called as Library and Information Centres. Likewise, the workload, activities and services of the LICs has changing. Different LICs of the World working on collecting local history related materials, tries to preserve them and disseminate it to the masses. Also various LICs of Assam collecting information of their local history and disseminates it. The LICs use various tools and techniques for better preservation and dissemination. Digital Library, Institutional Repositories are some of the example of it. This seminar paper is a simple reflection of the need and importance of the LICs regarding exploring local history, its preservation and dissemination.

Academic libraries, apart from their main function, which is to provide information services to academic communities, may also perform a number of social roles in the broad meaning of the term. Accordingly, they now tend to serve as the third place offering inclusion and animation activities to academic as well as local communities (including potential students) and to groups in risk of social exclusion (immigrants, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, etc.) or in need of various kinds of care and support. However, for libraries to be able to fulfil those tasks, they need properly trained staff who not only have the required competencies but also the right social attitudes. The paper presents an analysis of the social attitudes of academic librarians from twenty countries across the world as compared to the personnel of other types of libraries. The level of individual social capital, activity in social networks, aspirations in life and social and civic engagement were investigated. It was noted that the respondents tend to undervalue the importance of the work done by libraries for local communities. At the same time, the research showed that academic librarians have a somewhat lower level of individual social capital and trust than public librarians and less extensive social networks. Nonetheless, they are open to relationships with others, which enables them to engage in various social projects.

QR codes, or Quick Response codes, have gained popularity in recent years as a means of providing quick and easy access to information. In libraries, QR codes are being used to enhance the user experience and improve the efficiency of library services. Different organisations utilise QR codes in a variety of ways for their own needs, such as advertising and selling items. The library uses it as a medium to connect users with the papers and information they're looking for. The libraries of the twenty-first century are entirely automated and are aware of user needs. They consistently strive to offer their users services of the highest caliber regardless of geographical limitations. In other countries, a lot of libraries have started using QR codes. This paper explains brief basic concept of QR Code, their structure, advantageous nature, and its access methods. The study explores digital librarianship trends using the OpenAlex database. It found subscription-based models dominate, accounting for 57.1% of publications, while open-access ones are increasing. The focus is on Web and Library Services, Library Science and Administration, and Information Literacy. Emerging topics like blockchain have lower engagement. The Russian State Library leads with 16 publications and 784 scholarly outputs. Publication trends from 2015-2024 show a peak in 2021, with the most cited paper discussing technology during COVID-19. .

This study explored the experiences of academic librarians in selected private colleges in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte, as they adapted to digital resource management. It examined the challenges they encountered, the impact of digital technologies on their roles and services, and the strategies and solutions they implemented in response to these changes. Using a qualitative case study design, seven academic librarians were purposively selected as participants. Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using Colaizzi's method, which involved extracting significant statements, formulating meanings, and organizing them into thematic categories. Three themes were identified from the analysis: challenges in managing digital transition, transformation through digital technologies, and strategies and solutions for digitization. Participants reported difficulties related to limited budgets, outdated infrastructure, insufficient training, and lack of manpower. Despite these constraints, they acknowledged the positive effects of digital tools in enhancing accessibility, service efficiency, and user engagement. Tools such as OPAC, e-resources, and online platforms enabled them to continue delivering services even in resource-limited environments. This study concludes that digital transformation in academic libraries requires more than technological tools-it also depends on institutional support, staff adaptability, and strategic leadership. It recommends that academic institutions may develop structured digital roadmaps, improve infrastructure, provide continuous professional development, and promote a culture of innovation.

Despite the potential benefits of digital library services in private universities for improving learning outcomes and information access, there is a lack of research on the extent of their implementation and use. This study examines the availability and utilization of digital libraries in private universities in Ghana. The objectives are to determine the extent of digital library provision, assess the current state of digital library services, and identify the benefits and challenges of these services. A mixed-method approach was employed, collecting data from head librarians and student library users at Valley View University (VVU) and Pentecost University (PU) in Ghana. The findings indicate low awareness and usage among students, highlighting the need for awareness strategies. Insufficient training and support were found to impact access, while user satisfaction was linked to experiences with digital library resources and interfaces. Recommendations include tailoring digital library services to meet users' academic needs, increasing awareness to enhance usage in private universities, and addressing gaps in training and support.

The study examines the use of online public access catalogues (OPAC) at the Catholic University College of Ghana. The research aims to assess the awareness of OPAC among library users, analyze its usage, identify related challenges, and determine user satisfaction. A quantitative research approach was employed, targeting students at the Catholic University College of Ghana as the study population. Data were analyzed using version 25 of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings revealed challenges related to the limited availability of computers for OPAC systems, with users experiencing delays due to others occupying the available computers. Additionally, respondents showed a lack of sufficient IT knowledge. To address these issues, the study recommends that the library authority invest in more hardware or computers to improve accessibility. It also suggests ongoing training for patrons to enhance their IT skills and familiarity with the system.

QR (quick response) codes are two dimensional images that when scanned by a smart phone's camera, prompt the smart phone to open a web-page or display an image, video, or text. QR codes are, therefore, essentially pictographic hyperlinks that can be embedded in the physical environment. This technology has the potential to revolutionize the way libraries deliver instruction, connect patrons to information about library materials, and market their services. Although use of QR codes has not yet become prominent in Kansas communities, there are several reasons to believe that it soon will be. These reasons include burgeoning popularity of QR codes on the coasts, rapid increases in smart phone use in our communities, and expected enhancements in cellular data capacity in much of Kansas. By implementing QR codes now, academic libraries in Kansas can help expedite the adoption of this exciting technology and can concomitantly enhance their reputations as user-centered, innovative, sites for discovery and exploration. In this paper I describe how individuals with smart phones can download free QR code reading applications and use their phone's camera to read the code; show several examples of creative ways libraries and other organizations are using QR codes to provide rich, point-of-need information to patrons, customers, and prospective user; describe in detail the process of creating QR codes and distributing them throughout physical and online environments; and highlight some of the recent literature discussing the relevance of QR codes for libraries and for education in general.

Librarians play other vital roles in assisting institutions to gather good scores in NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation). Research helps to get a good score in NAAC criteria 4.2 for library learning resources. Tools for evaluating library usage, such as remote login access, e-resources, Learning Management Systems (LMS), mobile apps, and RFID technology, are discussed. By comparing digital and traditional methods, law libraries can enhance resource accessibility, support research, foster academic excellence, and improve learning outcomes. Purpose: This study aims to analyze academic research on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications and tools in academic libraries, focusing on publications from the Scopus database between 2014 and 2024. Design/methodology/approach: The study adheres to the PRISMA protocol, using VOSviewer, Bibliometrix, and Rstudio's Biblioshiny function for bibliographic analysis and visualization. Findings: The study highlights how the potential of AI in academic libraries may be increased by changing user needs and technical advancements. It comprises four thematic clusters: foundational technologies (machine learning, natural language processing, and automation), emerging innovations (generative AI), user-centric applications (chatbots), and the importance of AI literacy. It also reveals research gaps in automation and strategic AI integration, providing recommendations for improving library services.

This study was conducted to examined Reference and Information Service Delivery in Public University libraries in Abia State. This is with aim of Identify reference and information services provided in Public University libraries in Abia State, To identify the extent of provision of reference and information services in Public University libraries in Abia Sate, Extent of satisfaction of the undergraduate students with reference and information services, Determine hindrances to reference and information service delivery in Public University libraries in Abia State. Suggest strategies for effective reference and information service delivery in Public University libraries in Abia State. Based on the objective, five research questions guided the study. A descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. A total number of ninety six (96) respondents were used for the study. The instrument for data collection was questionnaire and observation checklist. Ninety six (96) copies of the questionnaire were distributed to the librarians of the two university libraries with 100% return rate. Frequency table and mean were used for the data analysis. The results obtained from the findings revealed that reference resources are available in the reference sections of the university libraries, reference services are rendered to undergraduate students in the two university libraries, that the undergraduate students make use of the reference services offered to them. The finding also revealed that greater number of the undergraduate students are satisfied with the reference services offered in these libraries. The researcher made six recommendations based on the findings of the study. Some of which are: Library administration should make available stand by generator to avoid disruption of power supply, Management should release more fund to enable libraries acquire more materials / resources and for maintenance culture, More current resources should be made available in these libraries like internet facilities, Management should encourage library instruction and computer literacy as a course for all the new students to improve the students on library use, Staff with computer literacy to be employed in the library, Management to encourage in- service training for staff to enable them cope with newly evolved resources

This study examined the influence of self-concept on library services used by disabled students in Federal Universities in South-West Nigeria. The study adopted a survey research design. The population comprises 302 disabled students in Federal Universities in South-West, Nigeria. Total enumeration technique was used. A questionnaire was used for data collection. The instrument was tested for reliability, yielding Cronbach's alpha coefficients ranging from 0.74 to 0.86. Descriptive & inferential Statistics were used to analyze the data. This study's findings revealed that most respondents considered user education and consultancy services the most frequent library services used. Using library services was to carry out research and read their notebooks. The level of the respondents' self-concept was high and positive. The study concluded that self-concept influenced library services use by disabled students. The study recommended that there is a need for Federal University Libraries to lay more emphasis on current awareness services.

This study explores how library professionals can be integrated into formal teaching and digital literacy initiatives in India, especially in the context of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The digital transformation of higher education has expanded the role of librarians from resource managers to educators and digital literacy advocates. However, Library and Information Science (LIS) education in India lacks structured pathways for librarians to assume formal teaching roles, limiting their impact on student learning and institutional innovation. Using a mixed-method approach-comprising surveys, interviews, policy analysis, and international case studies-the research explores institutional barriers, policy gaps, and global best practices. Purpose: This research investigates the influence of gamification on information literacy and user engagement in academic libraries. The emphasis is on the design, execution and outcomes of a gamified intervention intended to enhance interactive learning experiences, patron engagement, information literacy skills, cooperation and competence development.
Design/methodology/approach: A dual-method approach is employed, combining a comprehensive literature review with a qualitative case study. Data are gathered from librarians, library users and participants in gamification initiatives using a structured schedule. The collected data are then examined, categorized, presented and interpreted to fulfill the study's goals. Finally, a systematic framework for the introduction of gamification in academic libraries is proposed, aiming to advance user engagement and nurture interactive learning.
Findings: The research demonstrates that gamification including challenges and competition-significantly stimulates user engagement with library resources, improves information literacy abilities, fosters cooperation and facilitates the acquisition of new competencies. Digital platforms enhance the efficacy of gamification by making library interventions more captivating and accessible. However, the study highlights challenges related to planning and execution, emphasizing the need for a supportive culture and consideration of varied learning styles.
Originality/value: This research investigates transformational relevance of gamification in academic libraries. It proposes four primary concepts for integrating gamification: increasing usage, incorporating growing technologies, obtaining user feedback and managing data privacy. By describing fundamental aspects, primary methods, important implementation areas and intended results, the proposed framework provides as a roadmap for library professionals looking to incorporate gamification into their services.

Public libraries are emerging as vital contributors to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by leveraging their role as accessible community hubs to drive local action. This article explores how libraries, with their rich history of providing education and information, are adapting to address contemporary challenges through alignment with the SDGs. Libraries support SDG 4 (Quality Education) by offering educational resources and literacy programs, contribute to SDG 10 (Reduced
Inequalities) through inclusive services, and promote SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) with initiatives for community resilience and environmental sustainability. They also foster SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by enhancing civic engagement and access to information. Key strategies for transforming libraries into SDG hubs include conducting community needs assessments, developing targeted programs, building partnerships, and investing in staff training. Despite their potential, libraries face challenges such as limited funding, inadequate infrastructure, and barriers to community engagement. Addressing these challenges and implementing robust impact measurement systems are crucial for libraries to effectively support sustainable development.

This study investigated the level of awareness, utilization, and challenges associated with the use of ChatGPT among undergraduates at Ambrose Alli University, Edo State students of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma participated in this study. statistics, including mean and standard deviation, were used to aware of ChatGPT, but only 18% used it frequently for academic purpose high cost of data, and lack of technical awareness, among others are moderately aware of ChatGPT, infrastructural challenges and limited digital literacy hinder therefore recommended; improve internet accessibility, prov support, among others.

This study digital Media and Information Dissemination in Tertiary Institutions Akwa lbom State. Nigeria sought to determine the extent to which electronic media (e-mail, voice-mail, picture message. and live calls) influence organizational communication in tertiary institutions in the study area. The study adopted the descriptive survey design. Four specify objectives, and a research question were raised and translated into a research hypothesis for testing at .05 level of significance. Conceptual and empirical review of literature indicated that digital media is likely to affect organization communication among staff of tertiary institutions at horizontal and vertical communication patterns. A researcher made instrument called Digital Media Interaction Scale (DMIS) with reliability coefficient of .87 using cronbach Alpha was 752 respondents representing 10% of the study population was used. They were selected using stratified and random sampling techniques where the five governments owned tertiary educational institutions in the study area formed strata. Data collected were analyzed using percentages and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results show that digital communication media have significant influence, ensure more effective and transactional organizational communication at diverse degrees of intensity and reach depending on authority structure and line staff within the institutions examined. Based on the findings of the study, it is recommended among others that staff of tertiary academic institutions should be encouraged to use digital communication media to boost effective and efficient communication.

This research paper discusses the transformation of traditional libraries to smart learning spaces with the integration of Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, and artificial intelligence (AI). A thorough analysis of global trends indicate extensive use of next-generation technology by libraries, with the rate being spearheaded by higher education institutions, with 45% adoption of IoT in contrast to 25% adoption by public libraries. Empirical evidence presents significant improvements in operational efficiency (30% decrease in operational expenses), user experience (65% increase), and availability of resources (73% increase). Case studies of Singaporean, US, and Finnish institutions highlight successful implementation strategies and implications. Challenges of cybersecurity (incidents reported by 20% of libraries), data privacy concerns, and high initial investments ($50,000-$200,000 for medium-sized libraries) do exist; however, the benefits of smart library technologies make such financial investments worthwhile. It is concluded in the study that the combination of IoT, cloud services, and AI is revolutionizing library services, transforming them into dynamic and responsive learning spaces as part of 21stcentury learning. Recommendations invoke a priority on privacy-by-design standards, commitment to scalable infrastructure investment, and development of large-scale training programs for staff to enable the establishment of smart libraries regularly. .

Bullying é uma forma de violência que se dá nas relações sociais dentro do campo escolar. No Brasil os estudos sobre bullying escolar começaram a ter uma maior atenção nos anos 2000. Objetivo: Realizar um levantamento das principais características do comportamento bullying escolar em estudos do Brasil e do exterior, através do Scoping Review. Método: Baseou-se no Scoping Review de Arksey & O'Malley (2005) Resultados: Foram encontrados em 23 estudos distribuídos entre quatro continentes: América, Ásia, Europa e Oceania. As principais características do bullying escolar encontradas são as físico-corporais, comportamentais, de gênero, étnico-raciais e socioculturais. Conclusão: As características do bullying escolar destacadas nas pesquisas se tornam um habitus devido à forma como os(as) estudantes agem, percebem e as incorporam dentro do campo escolar.

The study focused on encouraging Resource Description and Access (RDA) among librarians in Nigeria as a panacea for improved users' accessibility to electronic information resources. To determine the existing level of understanding and knowledge gaps about the RDA and enhance users' accessibility to electronic library resources, a thorough study of the pertinent literature was conducted. The part that libraries play in utilising RDA has also been looked at in order to improve their operations. The study found that prior studies had demonstrated that RDA improved users' access to electronic library materials. In order to increase users' accessibility and proficiency in accessing library resources, libraries required to offer education and comfort in addition to being educated about the many information technologies that are currently available. The study's conclusions suggest that libraries and librarians should be able to take the lead.

The statistical methods have been applied to examine the relationship between library books consultation and reading habits of Agriculture Scholars of S. K. N. College of Agriculture, Jobner (Rajasthan). The chi square study on various attributes resulted much higher than the table values, rejecting null hypothesis and study clearly proved high significance and association with book consultations and category of reading attitude of Agriculture Scholars. The study implies that the effective use of library services depends on books consultation and reading attitude of library members. The chi square ranking study on different attributes implicates that PhD Scholars of general category ranked first by making better use of books which implicates effective consultation of books whereas the SC/ST scholars which ranked first in making adequate number of library membership. The ranking studies of chi square values for yearly published books (2010 to 2014) suggest non significant at table values and does not affects books consultation. The Coefficient correlation study on year wise books consultation and category of Agriculture Scholars revealed very high and significant. The High correlation implicates better association between book consultations with category of Agriculture Scholars.

Adicionalmente se presentan los resultados de un proceso de indagacion y diagnostico del uso de marketing en las bibliotecas universitarias de Medellin y se desarrolla una propuesta de marketing estrategico para el Sistema de Bibliotecas de la Universidad de Antioquia, ademas de una guia metodologica para el diseno de un plan de marketing o la implementacion de la gestion bibliotecaria en el marco del modelo de marketing mix de los servicios para las bibliotecas universitarias de Medellin.

Social media which is seen as a channel made available for people to communicate and share ideas, information and content in online communities and networks is a collection of software and web tools that allow users to create and share content participate in conversations and develop individualized network of friends, colleagues, or organizations. This study therefore is an evaluation of the level of awareness and extent of utilization of social media platforms in service delivery by Librarians of Federal university libraries using Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ikwo, Nigeria as a case in point. The design for this study is a descriptive survey research design with a sampled population of 12 librarians selected through census sampling techniques which entails that all librarians working in Alex Ekwueme Federal University Library, Ikwo, Nigeria formed part of the study. Working with the objectives of the study, a four-point scale modified Likert type structured questionnaire was designed by the researcher which forms the principle instrument used for data collection. Data collected were analyzed using frequencies, percentages and mean while results were displayed in tables and a chart. The outcome of the study shows that librarians of Alex Ekwueme Federal University are highly aware of the existence of most social media platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, YouTube, Webinar, Telegram and TikTok and that regardless of the fact that the librarians are highly aware of most social media platforms in use in libraries today, these social media platforms or tools are not in use in their library for service delivery with the exemption of Facebook, Whatsapp and Messenger. It was also discovered that there are many factors inhibiting the utilization of the various social media platforms in service delivery in Alex Ekwueme Federal University library. These constraints as identified include inadequate funding, poor internet connectivity, epileptic power supply and lack of commitments on the part of university management to use the technology among others. Organizational taxonomies have been used to organize content and aid navigation. This paper describes the experience of using an organizational expertise taxonomy and its corresponding subject matter experts, to aid collection development and to raise user awareness of the collection. Leveraging on subject matter experts in the organization provided a degree of balance to patron-driven acquisitions, and tapped on the subject matter expert’s community links to increase awareness of information resources in the collection. The use of organizational expertise descriptors to complement Library of Congress Subject Headings in the library catalogue yielded the benefits of precision and user familiarity to facilitate discovery, and resilience in case of changes to the organizational expertise taxonomy. The objective of this article is to describe the Social Innovation Practices (SIPs) developed by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). As a secondary objective, it identified Social Innovation (SI) trends based on the practices adopted by these institutions. The study mapped Social Innovation practices using the Web of Science platform, recruiting publications through the keywords "Higher Education Institution" and "Social Innovation." The search was conducted in the "affiliation-topic" field, resulting in 958 articles. For the analysis of the articles, Excel®, Mendeley®, and Atlas.ti® software were utilized. The results identified 40 SIPs, which demonstrated innovative actions across various fields of knowledge.

This article investigates information mediation practices in Algerian academic libraries, with a case study of the Mohamed Lamine Debaghine Setif 2 University. Its objective is to explore librarians' understanding of the concepts and principles of information mediation, as well as challenges and opportunities for improvement. The study used a descriptive approach, surveying thirty librarians using stratified sampling to ensure representation of both librarians (with direct user contact and those without). The survey instrument consisted of eight questions divided into two thematic sections, along with a personal data section. Statistical analysis of the data yielded several results, mainly related to the need to strengthen information mediation practices in academic libraries, focusing on connecting students with information and promoting digital literacy. The study also revealed a variety of methods currently used in information mediation practices. Most librarians expressed a need for training in research methodologies, information retrieval, and information ethics. Librarians face several challenges, the most prominent of which is understanding students' information needs and helping them close the digital and information literacy gap.

This study investigates the influence of big data analytics on collaboration and team leadership management within Benue State University Library, Makurdi. The primary objectives are to assess the impact of predictive analytics, user behaviour analytics, and workflow analytics on enhancing collaboration and leadership, as well as to identify the challenges faced in leveraging big data analytics effectively. Employing a mixed-methods design, data was collected from a population of library staff using a structured questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. A purposive sampling technique was employed, resulting in a sample size of 104 respondents who constituted the population of the study. Quantitative data was analysed using descriptive statistics of frequency counts and mean. The findings reveal that predictive, user behaviour and workflow analytics significantly enhance collaboration and team leadership management. Conversely, limited technical infrastructure, privacy concerns, lack of data literacy, financial constraints and organizational resistance were some of the challenges encountered by library staff in leveraging big data analytics for enhanced collaboration and team leadership management. In conclusion, while big data analytics presents opportunities for improved collaboration and leadership, significant barriers must be addressed. Recommendations include investing in advanced analytics tools, expanding user behaviour analytics, optimizing workflow processes and implementing strategies to overcome identified challenges.

The study is a quantitative research guided by three research objectives and three research questions. The research design adopted for this study is a case study research design. A total of ten (10) staff make up the members of the cataloguing and classification unit and they formed the population of the study. Data were collected using the instrument of a questionnaire (e-copies). The collected data were statistically analysed in percentages and presented in charts. The results of the findings show that the cataloguers' experience challenges such as inadequate professional staff, lack of training opportunities, outdated working tools and working on backlogged materials. In August 2011, a cohort of 30 Oregon State University Libraries and Press librarians and staff received free e-readers (Kindle Keyboards, Nook Simple Touches, Kobo Touches, and Sony PRS-350 Reader Pocket Editions) to use and adopt as they wished. In return, they were asked to participate in a year-long study exploring factors influencing their decisions to embrace or reject the e-readers. By removing barriers to trialing e-readers, investigators sought to: 1) understand the difficulties and hurdles encountered when adopting and using an e-reader; 2) explore factors that influenced library faculty and press staff to embrace or reject e-reader technology; and 3) learn if the experience of trialing e-readers would lead to enhanced services. The investigators used Everett M. Rogers' innovation-decision process as a theoretical framework to analyze participants' e-reader adoption. Key findings confirm that trialing new technology is crucial to determining if the technology fits an individual's needs and is necessary to inform the development of library services and professional knowledge.
