This study attempts to individuate within Cesare Cases's collected essays Patrie Lettere the fundamental interpretative lines with which the essayist read some moments of Italian literature of the 20th century, with particular attention to the novels of Gadda, Calvino and Morante. Starting from a sociological framework dominated by the antinomy between social "boredom" and revolutionary change, between the "staticity" of advanced areas and the political dynamism of depressed areas, the ways in which Cases, with the theoretical support of acute interlocutors such as Lukács, Benjamin and Szondi, found the tracks of this dialectic in the structures of the story, with particular attention to the objective instances expressed by the narrative voices, caught in their artistic camouflage, between epicness and parody, prolepsis and "responsibility".

The focus of this dissertation is the representation of the artist as a character in British theatre. In this study, which includes three chapters and one introductory chapter, I attempt to show that British playwrights, whether male or female, use their main fictional characters as artists either for self-reflexivity or to comment on the situation of being an artist. In accordance with the above premise, the responsibility of the artist and the function of art is investigated with due reference to radical thinkers, philosophers and writers such as, among others, Immanuel Kant, Oscar Wilde, Georg Lukacs, Antonio Gramsci, Walter Benjamin, Viktor Shklovsky, Bertolt Brecht and Jean-Paul Sartre. This investigation concentrates on the conceptualization and contribution of those intellectuals to the definition of the role of the artist. Dans cette contribution, nous étudions le rôle de la traduction dans la promotion des acquis scientifiques et technologiques polonais dans la revue Polska et dans sa version française, La Pologne. L'étude présente des documents d'archives de projets de contenu de la revue pour l'année 1979, un échantillon de textes-exemples de mise en oeuvre de la propagande du succès-, et une analyse des stratégies et procédés de traduction servant cette propagande. Elle permet de constater que l'objectif de la revue (créer une image positive du pays dans le monde) était atteint grâce à l'accentuation des liens avec l'Occident et la comparaison avec des pays dits « en voie de développement ».

1977 was a watershed year in Bologna’s history, marked by the emergence of a movement bearing the same name. The events of that year deeply divided the community and continue to echo to this day in collective memory. This essay moves along two main lines of inquiry: first, it examines how the movement and the political groups continuing its legacy have constructed and preserved their memory of these events; second, it investigates how Bologna’s communists experienced and recalled these occurrences.

La citazione del titolo è tratta dalla lettera di dimissioni dal Partito comunista, che Calvino scrive nell'estate del 1957 1 , e indica le tre coordinate della sua prima produzione: l'apprendistato di scrittore, la militanza politica, l'istanza documentaria. Anche se le dichiarazioni d'autore vanno prese con cautela, è indubbio che in poco più di dieci anni Calvino firma una mole considerevole di articoli: quasi 600 pezzi, stando al regesto di Luca Baranelli, tra reportage, recensioni, articoli di costume, brevi saggi, pamphlet, apologhi, racconti che escono per la maggior parte su quotidiani e periodici del Partito o di ispirazione comunista: l'Unità anzitutto, ma anche altre testate come «Coscienza di classe», il foglio della Camera del lavoro di Torino; Pattuglia, il periodico di Gatto e Pontecorvo, poi settimanale della FGCI romana, chiuso nel 1953; Il contemporaneo, il settimanale di Bilenchi, Salinari e Trombadori, fondato nel 1954, che poi diventerà supplemento di Rinascita 2 . Calvino dunque inizia la sua carriera di scrittore come giornalista e reporter, e lo fa come membro del Partito comunista, al servizio della stampa di partito: le ricadute di questi due connotati sulla lingua della sua prima produzione narrativa sono state finora sottovalutate dagli studi. La fase storica è segnata dalle vittorie della Democrazia cristiana alle elezioni del 1948 e, pur con calo di voti percentuale, a quelle fortemente contestate del 1953: «l'azione di controllo o di conquista dei mezzi d'informazione da parte della Dc e dei gruppi economici, iniziata nel 1946, si sviluppa in proporzioni notevoli»,

Leonardo Peruffo ripercorre l’opera di Goffredo Parise seguendo le tracce di guerra e Resistenza nel mondo narrativo dello scrittore. This special issue explores the enduring legacies of fascism in twentieth-century Europe through an intergenerational lens, focusing on the dynamic exchanges between di"erent age cohorts within far-right movements from the interwar period to the 1980s. Challenging the notion that the end of the Second World War marked a de#nitive Stunde Null (Zero Hour), this issue explores how older fascist leaders sought to revitalize their ideology by engaging younger generations. The volume investigates the roles of the 'G.I.' generation, the 'Silent' generation and the 'Baby Boomer' (following the categories created by sociologists William Strauss and Neil Howe) in shaping neo-fascist ideologies, rituals and political strategies across Western Europe. It highlights both con$ict and cooperation between generations, emphasizing how memory, trauma and political identity were transmitted through family ties, commemorative practices and editorial networks. Drawing on diverse case studies from Italy, Spain, Britain and the Croatian diaspora in Argentina, the issue underscores the importance of generational theory in understanding the evolution of far-right politics. It also addresses a gap in fascist studies and generational research by o"ering a comparative, interdisciplinary approach that integrates cultural sociology, anthropology and historical analysis. Ultimately, this collection of essays reveals how generational dynamics were central to the transformation and persistence of fascist ideologies in postwar Europe.

The aim of this study is to present the 1968 International Anarchist Congress of Carrara, a highly significant event in the history of the libertarian movement. The primary sources used were the audio recordings and their transcriptions, as well as other archival documents of the congress, with the addition of contemporary newspapers, audiovisual sources and memoires. Even by international standards, the paper gives an exhaustive and multifaceted analysis and context of this pivotal event of 20th century Anarchism, which besides leading to the foundation of the still existing International of Anarchist Federations, also influenced the stances of many Anarchist groups and organizations of that time on several relevant issues.

Il saggio si propone di analizzare il legame sviluppato tra la Pavia di Elio Veltri e i socialisti francesi nel corso degli anni Settanta del secolo scorso. In primo luogo, si descrivono per sommi capi le novità introdotte dalla giunta pavese sul piano dell’urbanistica e della partecipazione popolare (nuovo Piano regolatore, Comitati di quartiere, elementi di autogestione), ricostruendo quindi l’interesse suscitato da tali iniziative, a livello nazionale e nel più ampio scenario internazionale. Si illustra in seguito – ed è la parte più consistente della ricerca – il rapporto instaurato a Pavia tra i socialisti italiani e quelli francesi, soffermandosi soprattutto sulle motivazioni e sull’evoluzione sia dello sguardo interessato dei “cugini” socialisti per Pavia, sia di quello, altrettanto appassionato, del sindaco e dei socialisti di sinistra del Psi verso la produzione politico-teorica del Parti socialiste. La plongée dans le local offerta dal legame creatosi a Pavia, in grado di mettere a fuoco il rapporto tra gli esponenti dei due partiti socialisti collegandolo alla dimensione di un territorio specifico, consente di inserire un altro piccolo ma originale tassello nella più generale storia dei due partiti e della loro complessa relazione.

The aim of this paper is to determine the effects of the implementation of the program "School and the public" on the organization of the school system in the period of program implementation from 2009-2014. and the level of communication between the education system and the public. Methods: 694 respondents fulfilled the questionnaire for the training participants used in actual research, and prepared by the Institute for the Advancement of Education and Upbringing, intended exclusively for the Center for Professional Development of Employees. The collected data were processed by descriptive statistics in Microsoft Excel and the results obtained are presented in tables and graphs. The central question of politics is that of justice—the matter of the relation between the individual good and the common good. In modern politics, the common good seems to consist in “two principal objects,” as Rousseau declared in The Social Contract: liberty and equality. If so, then the achievement of justice in modernity amounts to the realization of “liberty in equality or equality in liberty.”

Fifty years ago, Enoch Powell made what still is one of the most notorious speeches in postwar British politics. Its tone was shocking for its use of inflammatory references to ethnic minority immigrants. Immigration continues to be divisive and references to it by politicians inevitably lead to comparisons with Powell. The aim of the collection is to examine Powell's speech from a number of perspectives, exploring how it was viewed both by contemporaries and in the light of subsequent developments. The objective of this article is to examine Powell's motivations, impact and legacy.

In the 1960s, Mario Pomilio experienced a period of creative crisis that forced him away from creating fictional works. However, in the same period, the writer from Orsogna did not remain intellectually immobile: alongside his academic production dedicated to Pirandello and Verga, in 1967 Pomilio published Contestazioni, a collection of militant essays in which he reacted against various aesthetic-philosophical positions present in the post-war Italian literary field, in particular those adopted by the Gruppo 63. Our paper aims to examine Pomilio’s “contestations” by testing their argumentative forcefulness and methodological rigor. In the first paragraph, we will analyze the Abruzzese writer’s polemic against the conception of “naturalism” adopted by Renato Barilli and Angelo Guglielmi; in this regard, we will observe Pomilio’s call for a problematic and not naive historicisation of literary currents. In the second paragraph, we will examine the aesthetic-philosophical deconstructions of the neo-avant-garde positions proposed by Pomilio. These critiques are combined with an appeal for the adoption of a historicist perspective quite different from the one promoted by Marxist aesthetics because Pomilio’s positions seem more similar to those adopted by the great European philological tradition of the 20th century. In the conclusion, we will observe how the critical laboratory of Contestazioni preluded Pomilio’s return to literature.

Ora che il 25 aprile è passato, con il carico consueto di polemiche, converrebbe provare a fare un passo avanti lasciando da parte i luoghi comuni, le semplificazioni, i buoni sentimenti che stridono con gli stereotipi per provare a dire qualche cosa di nuovo. L'angolatura letteraria garantisce più e meglio dell'angolatura storico-politica. Giusto sarà partire dalla Sobrietà, non quella però invocata dal Ministro Musumeci alla vigilia del 25 aprile, ma la Sobrietà secondo Luigi Meneghello, una formidabile lezione per il terzo millennio, parafraso Calvino, come si vedrà, non per caso. La questione del rapporto letteratura e Resistenza ha il suo fondamento in alcuni contributi di questo scrittore: va detto che talora le sue idee innovative sono rese in maniera esplicita nella sua produzione saggistica più che nel capolavoro, I piccoli maestri (1964). Fanno da sfondo ai suoi pensieri, da interlocutori, due nomi: Italo Calvino e Beppe Fenoglio, così da costituire un trio di voci che, se si vuole capire meglio, vanno ascoltate insieme e non unilateralmente. Un trio, in verità, un po' sghembo, perché non tutti parlano a tutti e non tutti stanno ad ascoltare tutti. Calvino, per esempio, dialoga con Fenoglio, ma ignora Meneghello. Fenoglio non fa in tempo a interloquire perché ci ha lasciato troppo presto (e comunque era refrattario alle discussioni teoriche). Ci ha lasciato materia per contendere, e quale materia. Infatti, a lui si appoggia (e con lui sia pure, in absentia, conversa) e Meneghello. Calvino si dice interessato soprattutto a Una questione privata, ma non sfiora le questioni generali. Ignora Meneghello, ma questi lo ripaga chiamandolo in causa indirettamente, con fine intenzione polemica, collocandolo in una posizione periferica nel suo dialogo appassionante con Fenoglio. Nella prefazione 1964 (l'anno dei Piccoli maestri) al Sentiero dei nidi di ragno e tanto meno dopo, nella discussione degli italianisti sulla Resistenza Meneghello fa capolino solo in anni molto vicini a noi senza per altro scalfire l'auctoritas di Calvino, la cui frase sulla ineluttabilità della scelta «giusta» ha avuto fra gli storici più fortuna che l'ironia antiretorica e la lezione di Antonio Giuriolo, maestro di piccoli maestri. Secondo Meneghello le potenzialità di una narrazione resistenziale vanno ricondotte sui binari classici, manzoniani, nell'ambito del rapporto tra verità e finzione. Alla dialettica vero-verosimile, dice di preferire quella fra il vero e il veridico: «Non c'è dubbio che parecchie caratteristiche che attribuisco ai miei compagni erano piuttosto mie che loro: in questo senso si potrebbe perfino dire che i piccoli maestri li ho inventati io. Però (e ci tengo a sottolineare questo) li ho inventati nel 1944, non nel 1963, non in sede postuma e letteraria ma sul campo per così dire». Inventati, ma fino a un certo punto. E ancora, a margine di un passaggio molto studiato dei Piccoli maestri: «È uno strano momento, bisognerebbe che tra noi vi fosse uno scrittore». Tornato dalla Germania, a chi gli diceva devi scrivere quello che ti è capitato, Lelio rispondeva: «Allora vorrebbe dire che non mi è servito» Inventare i fatti non serve, essere realisti ancora meno («sarebbero invenzioni un po' insipide»).

Comincerò con un furto e con una giravolta. Mi approprio, infatti, dell'incipit di un bell'articolo del collega Francesco Filia apparso su questa rivista più di dieci anni fa, ma lo farò ribaltandolo e capovolgendolo per adattarlo alla mia situazione e per poter quindi affermare che insegno italiano e storia in un Istituto Tecnico, il mio rapporto con l'insegnamento della filosofia è indiretto, ma mi sforzo di mantenerlo costante.

La Comuna de 1871 no se limita a un tiempo y a un espacio es una experiencia que a lo largo de todos los años transcurridos, ha ido adquiriendo múltiples rostros y aún más variados usos: se ha querido hallar en aquel acontecimiento un modelo, un paradigma, un mito revolucionario en cuyo espejo se han buscado otras luchas revolucionarias; hay sin duda en su trasfondo una forma de aprendizaje, pues sugiere respuestas a variadas preguntas, esboza posibilidades de acción, alimenta deseos y provee el material para construir la filigrana revolucionaria. Los destellos de aquella experiencia iluminan a partir de entonces luchas sociales que, en diversas geografías y con variados calendarios, pugnan por un mundo distinto, justo y libre.

W tekście zreferowano główne zagadnienia pracy, takie jak: portret intelektualny pokolenia Marca '68 w Łodzi, który wyłonił się ze wspomnień byłych uczestników buntów studenckich; deklarowane powody przystąpienia do protestów w 1968 r.; wpływ socjalizacji instytucji szkolnych i wychowawczych oraz kultury zachodniej na światopogląd analizowanego pokolenia. W uwagach polemicznych zwrócono m.in. uwagę na sposób funkcjonowania "socjalistycznej kontroferty" kulturowej skierowanej do młodych w latach sześćdziesiątych.

In Frankfurt, the news of Adorno’s sudden death in August 1969 struck like a thunderbolt. The author, who only twenty years earlier had returned to Germany from exile as a perfect stranger, had in the meantime become something of an icon. His lectures and seminars attracted hundreds of interested attendees, his presence was highly sought after by the media, and his public interventions – raising a critical voice in the desolate theoretical and political landscape of postwar West Germany’s economic miracle – had come to exert a remarkable influence. This was no small achievement for a thinker whose prose made no concessions to a general readership whatsoever and who articulated an attitude deeply hostile to all forms of conformism. Yet the shock of his unexpected death was not solely due to his intellectual stature. Around Adorno and the Institute for Social Research, a unique biotope of critical thinking had crystallised, bringing together several generations of intellectuals and theorists: from disciples and young professors of philosophy and sociology to social researchers, assistants and students. Some of them were not merely driven by cultural-theoretical concerns or academic ambitions, but saw in critical theory an intellectual and political endeavour they felt was their own. For all of them, Adorno’s death marked a rupture, leaving a void that seemed impossible to fill. In the months that followed, it became increasingly clear that the circumstances which had made Frankfurt a central hub of philosophical and social thought – and one of the main centres of the German student movement – were extraordinarily fragile. Institutionally, Adorno’s passing provided an opportunity to turn the page and bring an end to Frankfurt’s uniqueness as an enclave of critical theory. Politically, the extra-parliamentary left began to distance itself from Adorno, who was increasingly dismissed as an old-fashioned figure – too rigid and detached from political praxis. As a result, those who sought to continue the theoretical and political positions inspired by Adorno’s work suddenly found themselves in a state of uncertainty and apparent marginality. How could they move forward? Was it possible to remain faithful to the master’s legacy, or was it necessary to reformulate critical theory to keep it alive? And, if so, on what terms?

Marzec ’68 jest bez wątpienia jedną z najbardziej złożonych i kontrowersyjnych dat historii PRL. Pamięć o niej wymyka się jednoznacznym kwalifikacjom i niezależnie od epoki potrafi stać się zarzewiem gorących sporów i debat. Kryzys 1968 roku w wielu aspektach różni się bowiem od pozostałych „polskich miesięcy”, wokół których zwykło ogniskować się opowieść o epoce realnego socjalizmu. W przeciwieństwie do październikowej odwilży czy posierpniowego karnawału nie wiązał się ze zbiorowym doświadczeniem euforii. Jego insurekcyjny charakter jest z kolei mniej wyrazisty niż okupione krwią bunty Czerwca ’56 i  Grudnia ’70. Przez dekady Marzec obrósł mnogością interpretacji determinowanych szeregiem czynników, na które składały się m.in. osobiste doświadczenia, poczucie pokoleniowej wspólnoty, bieżący interes polityczny czy rezultaty badań historycznych. Książka Koniec złudzeń rekonstruuje, w jaki sposób narracje tworzące „marcową polifonię” ujawniały się w różnych rejestrach twórczości filmowej na przestrzeni ponad pięciu dekad dzielących nas od tamtych wydarzeń. Przedstawia film nie tylko jako zwierciadło dominujących w danym czasie dyskursów, ale również jako przestrzeń aktywnego kreowania kulturowej pamięci wypadków Marca.

Der Artikel widmet sich anhand der Akten des Bayerischen Kultusministeriums den Diskursen um die Schaffung des Ethikunterrichts in Bayern, an denen sich zeittypische politische Brüche ablesen lassen. Bereits kurz nach Kriegsende wurde in der bayerischen Landesverfassung verankert, dass für diejenigen Schüler*innen, die nicht am Religionsunterricht teilnahmen, ein "Unterricht über die allgemein anerkannten Grundsätze der Sittlichkeit einzurichten“ sei. Die Diskussion um dieses neue Fach nimmt jedoch erst in den 1970er-Jahren an Fahrt auf. Die Ausgestaltung der Lehrpläne und der allgemeinen Unterrichtsziele gestaltete sich hier zwischen Planungseuphorie, wissenschaftlichem Fortschrittsversprechen und konservativen Beharrungskräften. Die Geschichte des neuen Faches erscheint im Kontext der 1970er-Jahre weniger als spezifische Fachgeschichte denn als Brennglas, durch das zeittypische Spannungen der westdeutschen (Bildungs)politik greifbar werden. Methodisch exploriert der Artikel, wie Bildungsgeschichte als Gesellschaftsgeschichte fruchtbar gemacht werden kann.

Tekst je pokušaj revalorizacije ocene i kritike Altiserove filozofije koju su u rasponu od pola veka formulisali korifeji praksis filozofije: Gajo Petrović, Danko Grlić, Rudi Supek, Milan Kangrga i Zagorka Pešić Golubović. Praksis filozofi su bez dvoumljenja Atlisera okarakterisilai i otpisali kao staljinistu. Dokumentujući i analizirajući merodavna mesta, počevši od šezdesetih godina prošlog veka, pa do prvih decenija ovog, nalazim da se kontekst višestruko promenio, počevši od filozofskih stanovišta, država i društvenih uređenja, pa do famoznog duha vremena, ali je ocena ostala ista: Altiser je dogmatski mislilac koji je „staljinizam ogrnuo u naučno ruho“. Staljinizam je za praksisovce neka vrsta rigidnog označitelja koji ne menja smisao u svim mogućim svetovima. Naprotiv, analizirajući „Altiserov staljinizam" branim tezu da praksis filozofi nisu razumeli njegovo ahumanističko stanovište i domet „strukturalističkog" preokreta, te da su ostali daleko od činjenice da je „staljinizam" postao lebdeći označitelj, koji se u zavisnosti od konteksta menja. Vodeće ličnosti praksisa, Milan Kangrga i Rudi Supek, odbili su da uvrste jedan Altiserov tekst u međunarodno izdanje „Praxisa“, propustivši šansu da famoznu kritiku svega postojećeg upotrebe dosledno, tj. da usmere oštricu i prema vlastitom stanovištu. Ono što je u notaciji praksis filozofiji „dogmatsko", u kontekstu Altiserove filozofije označava stvaralačke napore usmerene protiv filozofskog konformizma i malograđanskog humanizma.

In order to support the eclecticism and multi-layered nature of Roversi's long literary itinerary, the persistent traces of tragic knowledge that conditioned his youthful formation should be identified, along with the historical and philosophical studies that oriented his characteristic heretical historicism. On a more strictly literary level, this paper traces his relations with traditions and with the avant-garde, not only Italian, as well as the centrality that novels have in Roversi's work.

This report explores the role of emotional sentiment, particularly the interplay between fairness and fear, in shaping negative public attitudes toward immigration in Britain during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Through a combination of archival research, press analysis, and subcultural study, it argues that much of the hostility directed at Asian immigrants, especially Pakistani and East African Asians, stemmed less from organised ideological racism and more from anxieties about economic fairness and social cohesion. Public fears that immigrants were overwhelming local services, such as housing, healthcare, and education, were deeply entwined with postwar welfare ideals rooted in the notion of earned entitlement. These anxieties were further amplified by fears of disorder, racial violence abroad, and a perceived national decline.

Within this context, the skinhead subculture became a focal point for media and political attention following violent attacks on Asian people. However, this focus often obscured the wider social conditions that enabled such violence. The paper contends that the actions of skinheads cannot be understood in isolation from the broader societal sentiment that had, by that time, eroded the moral boundaries protecting marginalised groups. Political rhetoric and media discourse routinely portrayed immigrants, gay men, and hippies as deviant, parasitic, or un-British. This discursive framing lowered the threshold for hostility and reduced the capacity of institutions, particularly the police and political actors, to mount effective responses.

By re-examining the skinhead phenomenon in light of these wider cultural dynamics, this report argues that the subculture became a lightning rod for tensions that were already present across British society. Rather than viewing the violence of the period as the expression of a fringe group, it is better understood as the product of a shifting moral landscape in which the values of fairness and fear were weaponised against those deemed outside the national consensus.

Naglasak je na kontinuitetu koji je u tom pogledu vidljiv od ranih indoloških do poznih radova iz oblasti teorije stiha. Posebna se pažnja poklanja autorovom odnosu prema jeziku i kritici esencijalističkog pristupa naciji koju takav odnos podrazumeva. U zaključku se Petrovićevo shvatanje filologije sagledava ne samo kao pokušaj prevladavanja jugoslovenskih nacionalizama, nego i kao osoben doprinos filozofiji istorije i kulture.
