The study examines the Baroshke neighborhood's residential units, spaces, and road infrastructure, analyzing its urban character in relation to Duhok's Master Plan. It identifies demographic data, urban density averages, and land use patterns, highlighting a disparity between the western and eastern parts of the neighborhood. Initiatives for future urban development are suggested based on observed deficiencies in services and infrastructure.

Duhok is a fast-developing city in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. The city is growing extremely fast, improving services of existing neighborhoods, and building new neighborhoods as the population exponentially grows. Nevertheless, the streets of the neighborhoods did not integrate sustainability in the developing stages. This negative perception affects the attractiveness of the streets and the comfort of the users inside the neighborhoods. Although, several planners and engineers have studied how to build sustainable and attractive streets that operate efficiently for everyone in neighborhoods. But then again, due to incorrect decision-making of the street’s design led to a shortage of complete streets. Thus, the streets are exclusively intended for automobiles more than any other method of transportation. The use of private automobiles has reduced the quality of the neighborhood. Additionally, the traditional transportation method of road designs is one of the daily difficulties that people face inside their neighborhoods, such as crossing the street, going to stores, workplaces, schools, biking, and moving actively. consequently, the streets make it difficult for residents to go to their homes, job centers, schools, stores, health facilities, and other destinations by foot, bicycle, public transportation. As a result, the neighborhoods in Duhok city are required to adopt policies and regulations such as complete streets for encouraging decision-makers, engineers, and planners to plan, build, and fund neighborhoods that support walkers, bicycles, public transit users, in addition to automobiles and freight vehicles, inside neighborhoods. In conclusion, the street network of neighborhoods reflects the lack of a well-planned physical environment which can support the overall social, environmental and economic aspects of the neighborhoods.

Different designing approaches allow visual, morphological, conceptual and coloristic harmonization when it comes to facing existing and newly planned structures in populated areas. The architectural environment is a unique entity in which the objects are interpolated on the principle of taking the characteristic elements from the environment or by using the new forms which achieves focus. Surrounding structures therefore receive different perceptual impressions. Morphological harmonization of newly designed buildings is often of great importance to the visual experience of space, and so a number of urban-architectural parameters such as construction and regulation lines, roof height ranges, the conceptual division of the dimensions of the building, number of floors, etc., are relevant to the question of breeding and raising quality of the urban context. In the case of buildings in Novi Sad, the issue of context in terms of visual perception will be presented and analyzed.

The street space is one of the typology of urban public spaces. The various functions of street spaces are among others, as a mode of transportation space, as a shared space for citizens, and similarly as an architectural expression of spaces that contains the collective memory of its citizens. This research is focusing on to the uniqueness of the network of streets and canals made up of street spaces in the city of Banjarmasin. The combination of streets and canals was further explored in order to get the spatial characteristics of the respective case. The purpose of this research is to determine how and why the street spaces in the city of Banjarmasin was changed and what components that influenced the characteristics of the space. This research uses an empirical paradigm with the case study method. The urban units of selected cases in this research are the corridors of Jalan Veteran and Jalan Belitung. One of the current problems of urban planning has been investigated - the social research methodology when conducting urban planning analyzes of five residential areas of private house building in Bishkek - Kalys-Ordo, Ak-Bosogo, Bakai-Ata, Rukhiy-Muras and Archa-Beshik. The essence of the systemic social and urban planning research, using the method of sociological survey of residents of residential areas, emphasized the scientific significance and the need to adjust urban planning practice. The use of the results of a sociological survey of residents makes it possible to identify the shortcomings of the existing urban planning functioning of individual urban formations and the city as a whole, contributes to the objective accounting and formation of the concept of development at various stages of urban planning, orients to the reduction of negative consequences during the operation of a spatially organized environment. Also, they can serve as a direction for the compositional organization of living spaces in the form of materialized forms of socio-cultural relations of citizens.

Today, there are a few dozens of historical index houses in the city Sabzevar. Reviews show that up until now, despite the presence of their special characteristics, variety and role, there have not been comprehensive studies about them; but through the presence of valuable samples from various historical periods (Teymouri, Safavid, Qajar, Pahlavi), their exposure to destruction through changing the method of living, multiplicity of owners, migration and generally loss of attractions for today›s life, reviewing these houses is necessary. Since most of the historical houses in Sabzevar are from the Qajar period, the purpose of this article is to read and recognize Qajari houses. The used research method is combined and the results obtained from the study show that Sabzevar›s houses, with architectural specifications such as semi-hot and arid climate, have mostly been made as introvert houses and they can be divided to three types of the first, second and third period based on the fea...

The analytical method used is the typology of street spaces within either the two or three dimensions. Simplification and categorization patterns have been done to explore each of the main characteristics of the street spaces. Results of the analysis reveals the formal and informal characters of each street space that can influence the growth rate of the buildings, the changing face of the regions, and the changeover between the old buildings with that of the new ones. Dual canals are known as formal characteristic and single canal is known as informal characteristic. The conclusion from this research confirms that the canal elements at street spaces provide big influence to change the street spaces' characteristics.

In this study, it is aimed to research the reasons and solutions of socioeconomic differences between Yeni Sahra Neighborhood and Sahrayıcedit Neighborhood which are neighborhoods of one of the important transportation axes (D-100 highway) in Istanbul, on the same north-south line. Some of the elements in city have a negative impact on settlement and integration by creating a physical boundry. When reuniting the separate parts of the city, attitude should not be to connect them with weak ties. Providing more substantial integration would be the main attitude of this study. Yeni Sahra Neighborhood and Sahrayıcedit Neighborhood are two districts, shaped and bordered by a physical urban boundary. In this study, the morphologic structure of two neighborhoods, the socioeconomic differences of the inhabitants and whether these are under the physical boundary effect will be investigated, then solutions and suggestions will be established. The spatial step of the research will be done with space syntax theory and axial maps of both fields will be created by using the DepthmapX/2019 program and potential points of these areas will be determined. This method will be used to determine whether the existing connections are in the right places and the new areas will be detected for new urban leaks. After the problems are identified, solution and suggestions will be established.
Economic growth, globalization, urbanization and climate change have been bringing the largest challenges to social, economic, and environmental sustainability. Those issues are worldwide known due to their importance. In response to those issues many theories have been developed in many countries to address those issues. Duhok City has been developing in unbalance manner between different land uses. For example, there were little attention to the transportation as one the main components lf land use planning. The development of the city was car-oriented planning in all fields such as land use planning, transportation planning, urban form and urban design. In response to this, the instructors of Urban Design Course II have developed this project for this course. The project is working at the level of corridor planning. The study used different methods and techniques. Quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods have been used. Those data include questionnaires, interview, geospatial data, etc. In order to support the analysis results of the researchers, a focus group dissection have been conducted. After that a SWAT analysis was conducted too. The conclusion and recommendations were the basis for the development of goals, objectives and vision. Then based on this, different scenarios have been developed. In order to assess the developed scenarios, the objectives were converted to indicators. Then based on those indicators, an assessment matrix was developed to do cost-benefit analysis by which the best scenario was developed. Finally, the scenario was developed to be a final plan in which different planning guidelines were developed.
