Dialectical Behavioral Therapy: Between Theory and Practice

The present study aims at shedding light on dialectical behavioral therapy, as one of the therapies approaches that scientific research has shown to be effective in treating many mental disorders. The paper deals with the concept of dialectical behavioral therapy and the differences between it and cognitive behavioral therapy. In addition to the goals of treatment in building a life worth living, and its importance in treating some emotional problems such as suicides and borderline personality disorder, and its skills that included distress tolerance, mindfulness, emotion regulation, and Interpersonal effectiveness . The study also dealt with its four stages, and its strategies, that included dialectical strategies, validation strategies, problem-solving strategies, problem-solving strategies, and case management strategies. The previous aspects were discussed in the light of literature review, theories that interpreted dialectical behavioral therapy and scientific research that focused on measuring its effectiveness in reducing many mental disorders.
