For this reason, the idea of recycling industrial waste has been widely discussed lately. One of the most important recycling processes is the production of artificial light weight aggregate, since large quantities of aggregate are consumed for concrete production and the limited natural resources for providing nature aggregate. Ground Granulated Furnace Slag (GGBFS) is an industrial waste from the steel melting process. In this study, the influence of GGBFS artificial aggregate on mechanical properties of concrete were investigated. Artificial aggregate was replaced with nature aggregate by 20%, 40%, and 60% by volume. Tests of compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, and bond strength were carried out. The results showed improvement in compressive strength for the three replacement ratios. In addition, concrete contains 40%...

Since the formation is economical due to its deposition period, which represents about 80% of the Iraqi oil reservoirs, and since no study was carried out in this area, this study was performed to explore the reservoir properties using Petrel software. Seismic data, well logs, and previous studies were used. As a result, the structure depth map was established and showed that there are two structure noses at the top of the Yamama Formation. Consequently, the Yamama reservoir is divided into three productive reservoir units named Ya, Yb, and Yc units. The study indicated that the Yc reservoir unit is the best because of its reservoir properties, where the ratio of water saturation is ranged between 37-40 %, the porosity ratio is between 20 and 27 %, and the facies consist of wackestone, packstone, and grainstone. As a result, the YC unit is considered ...

In this proposed system, two database systems are used. The first is CASIA database system (version 1.0) (Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Automation). And, the second is REAL database system by using real persons and each person takes many images for recognition through camera Mobile Type of Galaxy Note3. In CASIA System, the iris recognition rate for Haar filter was 84.2% and for Daubechies filter was 92.8%, while in Real system, the iris recognition rate for Haar filter was 90% and for Daubechies filter was 98.7%, this means the Daubechies filter was the best in time and error from the Haar filter. Finally, this system is efficient, because the performance measurement of FAR was 0%. The results and the experiments were implemented by P4 computer and the software package MATLAB (R2011a).

Aggregate, one of the most crucial ingredients of concrete, is among the concerns in this regard. There will be a steady increase in demand for aggregates in the near future, but limited natural reserves will not be able to respond to this demand due to the risk of depletion. This current situation is forcing researchers to conduct new and artificial material production techniques that keep the resources within the allowed boundaries. Artificial aggregate production is one of the new methods for sustainable, environmentally friendly material production. The mechanical and environmental properties of lightweight concrete produced via artificial aggregates in different ratios were investigated in this study. Fly ash (FA), ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBFS), and quartz powder (QP) were utilized in the production of artificial lightweight aggregate (LWA) by using a spec...

However, on the same year of introducing the curriculum, 2014, a group of Islamic extremists (ISIS) started a series of deadly attacks on many cities in Iraq causing a massive internal displacement to take place. In less than a year, millions of Iraqi people were displaced and were scattered over many other ISIS-free cities in Iraq. While most of the displaced people could afford living expenses including rent, transportation and healthcare, others could not and went homeless. Consequently, a number of internally displaced person (IDP) camps were established as a temporary settlement to house the hundreds of thousands of homeless IDPs. Given the fact that those IDP camps were established outside the main cities, and thus were located at a considerable distance from schools, one elementary and one ...

Lack of sufficient data on molecular epidemiology of such pathogens from countries with high infection burden, such as Bangladesh, hinders management and infection control measures. In this study, we assessed the population structure, virulence potential and antimicrobial susceptibility of clinical E. coli isolates from Dhaka, Bangladesh. A high prevalence of MDR (69%) and extended-spectrum β-lactamase production (ESBL) (51%) was found. Most E. coli isolates were susceptible to amikacin (95%), meropenem (94%) and nitrofurantoin (89%) antibiotics. A high prevalence of ST131 (22%) and ST95 (9%) followed by ST69 (4%) and ST73 (3%) was observed. Phylogroups B2 (46%), B1 (16%), D (10%) and F (9%) were prominent. blaCTX-M-15 (52%) and blaNDM-1 (5%) were the most prevalent ESBL and carbapenem resistance genes, respectively. While commercial and charitable organizations have been the objects of cyber security research, Social Enterprises have remained unexplored. As Social Enterprises have become increasingly important features of social and economic development, so their prominence as potential targets of cybercrime also increases. In order to address this knowledge gap, this study examines the factors that influence the cyber-preparedness of Social Enterprises in the UK. Through the use of semi-structured interviews with Social Enterprise, these factors are found to comprise the characteristics of the enterprise, the characteristics of the enterprise management, resource constraints, experience of cyber attacks, usage of IT, and awareness of cybersecurity schemes and resources. These insights provide valuable guidance for SE owner-managers, SE support agencies and policy-makers when considering the cyber security of SEs. These findings are of immediate concern to social enterprises but also to other organizations that are engaged in partnerships with them as social enterprises may afford 'gateway' opportunities to those with malicious intent. Social Enterprises are institutions that balance the competing needs of commercial success and the primary objective of delivering social value. The management of cyber security places a further demand upon these resource-constrained organizations, and upon the capacity of individual owner-managers. However, the nature of these enterprises suggests that they present unique opportunities to cyber criminals: their association with vulnerable individuals, use of volunteer resources and links with government systems, and rising visibility among the business landscape, makes their management of cyber security a pressing issue. This study has identified a general lack of awareness of cyber security reporting requirements, preventive measures and support schemes among social enterprises in the United Kingdom. Organizations that represent social enterprises, and local and national governing bodies, need to review the efficacy of their current methods of communicating with and educating this increasingly important sector. However, social enterprise ownermanagers must also take responsibility for raising their own awareness of the current regulations and for effecting appropriate cyber security management within their organizations. This may be aided by the collaborative activity of groups of social enterprises, for instance, among those that operate within defined Social Enterprise Places, or among other collective arrangements.

Yemeni SMEs are at the early stages of e‐business adoption. The delay in adopting more advanced e‐business solutions are due to factors including the comparatively low level of technology usage within the organization, lack of qualified staff available to develop, implement and support firms’ websites, and limited financial resources. A lack of computer software and hardware resources appears to have a detrimental effect on e‐business adoption amongst Yemeni SMEs.

MWSN is used to measure a mobile object parameters then transmit the sensed data to center station called Sink Node (SN). Routing of the sensed data is a challenging issue since several parameters and restrictions should be managed carefully in MWSN. Although the sensor's power (e.g., sensor's battery level) is a critical issue, managing data transmission time is also a considerable subject especially for real time applications. Several routing protocols had been proposed for MWSN, however, each protocol considers a single type of awareness (such as; long life, delay time, total energy...). While some protocols consider the sensor's energy to maximize the network lifetime, others aim to find the shortest path to reach the destination. In this paper, a multi-aware query driven (MAQD) routing protocol will be proposed for MWSN based on a neuro-fuzzy inference system. MAQD considers four types of awareness; the long life of the sensor, delay time of data transmission, total cost of the network, and the shortest transmission path. Hence, based on the selected type of awareness, a fuzzy inference system selects the proper path for routing data. MAQD is a query driven protocol, accordingly, SN can collect data from some/all sensors by employing a request (REQ) message in which the awareness type is specified. MAQD is simulated and tested using OPNET 14.5 and compared with the latest MWSN routing protocols. Simulation results have shown that MAQD outperforms the selected competitors routing protocols (LEACH, ERTLD, RACE, SPIN, EAR2, DCBM, and Rumor routing) as it introduces the best data delivery with the minimum routing overheads in terms of time penalties and power consumed.

A New Approach to Component-Based Development of Software Architecture
International Review on Computers and Software, Jan 31, 2013
Information system architecture handles requirements of information and systems to support a busi... more Information system architecture handles requirements of information and systems to support a business through describing structural and behavioral capabilities of the system. Software architecture is defined in terms of computational components and interactions among those components. In this context, component-based development is an approach considered the most promising way of developing information systems. Typically, UML 2 component diagrams are used as an architecture-level artifact for modeling business and technical software architectures. Nevertheless, UML notation in and of itself is insufficient for creating meaningful component models. This paper asserts that this difficulty in creating meaningful component models has originated from the use of UML diagrams; furthermore, the paper proposes an alternative flow-based diagramming methodology for software architecture development. The new concept presented in the paper is development of a hierarchy of components on the basis of this flow-based representation. The viability of this idea is demonstrated through a study case of an actual system.
