These instructions give you guidelines for preparing papers for an existence without electricity can't be thought of since it turns into an integral part of human life. In a developing country, people use postpaid electricity for their own purposes. Be that as it may, they do not know the amount of electricity they have consumed and how much cost they have done likewise till they receive the consumption bill at the end of the month. Also, in prepaid meters, to see consumption details, people have to go in front of the meter. In this research, a system has been designed based on GSM technology to solve this problem. The prepaid meter must be recharged; as a result, clients can use the electricity. The system alerts the client for any kind of emergency. Besides, when the client is away from the house, he can easily switch off the supply of electricity by sending an SMS. This project will support both society and country because it helps to reduce the wastage of electricity and to check electricity consumption and bill from remote distances.

This project aims to develop a smart energy meter which has many advantages like monitoring and controlling the energy meter at anywhere and at any place. Our project also called as pay first and then use it because here the user first has to pay the bill after that only they can consume the electricity. We know that each user has different kind of load demands and based on it we can recharge in number of units (KWh). The energy we are consuming and based on those pulses from the energy meter, microcontroller decrements the number of units and displays on LCD the remaining units we can use. The load gets disconnected when the units become zero and it is reconnected when the user recharges it. Our project will be very useful for the electricity board and also the user because this project gives the live update about the energy usage of the user through the message. GSM (Global system for mobile communication) will help to send and receive this information to the user. This system helps us to identify the energy losses of the electricity board to a large extent.

The measurement of the energy consumed by residential and commercial buildings by utility provider is important in billing, control, and monitoring of the usage of energy. Traditional metering techniques used for the measurement of energy are not convenient and is prone to different forms of irregularities. These irregularities include meter failure, meter tampering, inaccuracies in billing due to human error, energy theft, and loss of revenue due to corruption, etc. This research study proposed the design and construction of a microcontroller-based electric energy metering system using the Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) network. This system provides a solution to the irregularities posed by the traditional metering technique by allowing the utility provider have access to remote monitoring capabilities, full control over consumer load, and remote power disconnection in the case of energy theft. Proteus simulation software was used to model the system hardware and the ...
Automatic Energy Meter Reading system (AEMR) regularly read the energy meter and calculate total amount of bill at the set dead line and sends the message to service provider. From energy meter received data i.e. user name, meter ID, total units with paying amount this message maintained at database server which located at service provider department. By using this system save the time required for conventional billing system and minimized human work load. User and service provider both are get correct reading and bill amount. AEMR System can provide message at hourly, daily and monthly by the request. This technology reduced the man power, reading collection time, theft of electricity also avoids late bill payment. By apply this system data security improve. And improve customer and service provider services. Due to this system service provider quickly find out illegal and late bill paying customer by accessing database. So GSM based AEMR system is more efficient that conventional billing system.
The technology of E-metering (Electronic Metering) has gone through rapid technological advancements and there is increased demand for a reliable and efficient Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system. the design of a simple low cost wireless GSM energy meter and its associated web interface, for automating billing and managing the collected data globally. The proposed system replaces traditional meter reading methods and enables remote access of existing energy meter by the energy provider. Also they can monitor the meter readings regularly without the person visiting each house. A GSM based wireless communication module is integrated with electronic energy meter of each entity to have remote access over the usage of electricity. A PC with a GSM receiver at the other end, which contains the database acts as the billing point. Live meter reading from the GSM enabled energy meter is sent back to this billing point periodically and these details are updated in a central database. A new interactive, user friendly graphical user interface is developed using Microsoft visual studio .NET framework and C#. With proper authentication, users can access the developed web page details from anywhere in the world. The complete monthly usage and due bill is messaged back to the customer after processing these data. This system also can be used to disconnect the power supply to the house in case of non-payment of electricity bills. A dedicated GSM modem with SIM card is required for each energy meter.
