Francesca Pilo'

I am Assistant Professor in Spatial Planning at Utrecht University. My research focuses on the interrelation between the governance of urban infrastructures, space and politics, through materialist and STS perspectives. My current research examines how the governance of infrastructure and citizenship change in cities where sovereignty is contested (Rio de Janeiro and Kingston). Prior to joining Utrecht University, I hold positions at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Post-doc FNRS), Université Paris Est, Université, Paris Diderot and the University of Amsterdam. I hold a PhD in Urban Planning from the join supervision between Université Paris Est (LATTS) and the Fluminense Federal University (UFF) in Brazil.
