The results of cognitive-behavioral group interventions applied from 2002 to 2004 to 42 colombian combat veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) are presented. The goal of the study was to stablish the effectiveness of the group interventions based in Prolonged Exposition and Stress Inoculation treatment processes. Differences between pre-in-post symptomatology scores of PTSD were measured by Foa Posttraumatic Stress Diagnostic Scale (PDS) and the Beck Depression Inventory. The statistical analysis was made by t test for paired samples, with alpha of 0.05. Results show significant decrease in symptomatology and severity level after the intervention both in depression and PTSD symptoms.

This research aims to identify the contextual factors associated with states of anxiety and depressionin children attending school, rated by their teachers according to the observation of the child’s behaviorin multiple contexts. The multidimensional behavioral scale of Reynolds & Kamphaus (1992) thatevaluate emotional and behavioral problems was applied along with stressors checking list (Jimenezy Castro, 2006) including physical environment, social relationships, academic requirements, evaluationinterview and characterization to 254 children in school age between 6 an 11 years. Multivariateregression analysis shows that requirement academic factor is associated with anxiety states as wellas social relationships and requirement academic related to depression states in children. Correlationalanalysis indicates a moderate relation between anxiety and depression.
