Sarah Siegenthaler
PhD Candidate in Classical Archaeology (2022–)
MA in Ancient History and Classical Archaeology (2022) | BA in Ancient Civilizations and Art History (2020)
I am a classical archaeologist working at the intersection with ancient history. My work traces individuals living in extreme poverty in ancient Roman cities, e.g. pursuing various forms of street-begging. Four case-study cities (Rome, Pompeii, Ostia and Ephesos) are examined through the conjoint analysis of textual and archaeological sources (1st c. BCE – 6th c. CE).
