In various national policies and developmental programmes, emphasis has been given on organizing women in Self Help Groups and thus, marks the beginning of a major process of empowering women. It is also felt to equip the women with necessary skills in the modern trades, which could make them economically self-reliant. Women must be empowered by enhancing their awareness, knowledge; skills and technology use efficiency, thereby, facilitating overall development of the society. The concept of Self Help Groups (SHGs) is proving to be a helpful instrument for the empowerment of women. Therefore an attempt is made in this paper to find out the performance and appraisal of the Microfinance through Stree Shakthi programme in Karnataka. Stree Shakti is the Karnataka State Governments" Women"s programme, strictly focused on empowerment of rural women and making them financially, socially and politically capable. This paper observes how SHGs of the rural poor particularly those managed by women, successfully demonstrated how to mobilize and manage thrift activities , appraise credit needs, enforce financial disciplines, maintain credit linkage with banks and effectively undertake income generating activities etc.

The manner in which a business can accomplish this is by providing customer satisfaction, thereby furnishing reliable products and services at a reasonable price, quality and consistent features which exceeds the customer's expectation. The accounting system followed by most of the business houses are inadequate to provide information that is required to meet and support these objectives. Accurate and valid financial information are essential for making decisions. Unfortunately, most manufacturing companies make their decision using traditional accounting such as standard costing which is unacceptable for any lean manufacturing concern. The information required for a lean environment are completely different from traditional manufacturing. In this article we explore what it is about standard costing that causes this conflict with lean and suggest an alternative costing approach that is consistent with the goals of lean and which provides the basis for sound management decisions. Value Stream Costing enables the true facts of production to be much more clearly realized than before.
Self-Compassion, Performance, and Burnout: Surfacing an Unknown Work Construct

Despite the increasing interest, theory-driven research on self-compassion in the workplace has only begun to emerge recently. In the present research, we introduce the construct of work self-compassion ( WSC). Building on Neff’s definition of self-compassion, we submit that WSC is comprised of work self-kindness, common work challenges, and work-specific mindfulness. Across two studies, we develop a scale to measure WSC and test its place within the larger nomological network of organizational constructs. Specifically, by integrating COR theory with prior research on self-compassion, in Study 1, we test the incremental validity of WSC beyond general self-compassion in predicting job performance. In Study 2, we further demonstrate that WSC is an important mediating mechanism that bridges the association between honesty-humility, namely...

Employees who exhibit WSC were proposed to experience less burnout and higher levels of role based performance. Specifically, the model proposed that WSC would serve as a mediator between self-compassion (SC), a psychological constructed rooted in Buddhist traditions, such that WSC would be a strong unique negative contributor towards burnout (BO) and a strong unique positive contributor towards role based performance (RBP). In addition, the model proposed that the personality trait of Honesty-Humility (H) of HEXACO would be mediated by WSC such that WSC would be a strong unique negative contributor towards burnout and a strong unique positive contributor towards role based performance. Data from employees working in a major metropolitan safety net hospital (N = ...

Aim: This study aims to compare the differences in clinical presentation, management, and outcome of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) between patients with sarcoidosis and those in the general population. Methods: A literature search was conducted by reviewing original research articles such as case reports, case series, observational studies, and questionnaire-based surveys published in PubMed/ Medline, Web of Science, and Google scholar. Data from individual patients in case series and case reports have been pooled to create a data set that was compared with larger such cohorts obtained from several other observational studies. Results: Twenty-seven patients were identified from 14 original articles. No significant differences were found in the clinical manifestations of patients with sarcoidosis presenting with COVID-19 as compared to the general population. The rate of hospitalization in our study was found to be 48.1%. The overall mortality in our study was 7.4%, which is higher than the global average of 2.1%. Conclusion: Our observations have reinforced the hypothesis that the presence of additional medical comorbidities is associated with a higher risk of intensive care unit admission. Furthermore, the presence of moderate to a severe limitation in pulmonary functions is an additional risk factor associated with increased hospital admissions and mortality in sarcoidosis. However, neither the diagnosis of sarcoidosis nor ongoing treatment with steroids, methotrexate, or other immunosuppressants was associated with a poorer prognosis in patients with sarcoidosis. Relevance for patients: Patients with sarcoidosis must take added precautions to mitigate the risk of acquiring COVID-19 infection in view of the COVID-19-related mortality rate in this group of patients. Specifically, immunocompromised patients (on immunomodulator drugs and high dose steroids) have been found to have an increased risk of contracting COVID-19. Overall impact on prognostication and outcome in cases requiring hospitalization remains yet to be determined.

Despite the fact that Oman's residents are increasingly using internet banking to perform their ordinary banking activities, they have little knowledge of online fintech products. As a result, the purpose of this study is to determine the level of investor awareness and perception of P2P lending in Oman. The major goal is to investigate the level of awareness of P2P based on the sociodemographic characteristics of the respondents and their perception about P2P lending platform. The study is carried out in the Governorate of Muscat using primary data gathered using a semi-structured questionnaire that was distributed online from 108 individuals, using convenient sampling method. Data was examined using descriptive statistics such as percentages, mean score, and standard deviation. According to the study's findings, respondents' awareness of P2P lending platforms is extremely poor. They know relatively little about Fintech businesses that provide various types of investing opportunities. They believe that using online lending platforms is risky and inconvenient. They have no plans to invest in a peer-to-peer lending network and will not encourage their friends and family to do so.
