Web caching is a technology for improving network traffic on the internet. It is a temporary storage of Web objects (such as HTML documents) for later retrieval. There are three significant advantages to Web caching; reduced bandwidth consumption, reduced server load, and reduced latency. These rewards have made the Web less expensive with better performance. In this paper, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) approach is introduced for Web caching to determine the type of Web request, either to cache or not, and to optimize the performance on Web cache. Two methods are employed in this study; Artificial Neural Network (ANN), and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The experimental results have revealed that some improvements have been accomplished compared to the existing technique in terms of Web cache size.

This paper describes and evaluates a Collision Avoidance path planning Algorithm (CAA) for manipulator based on Minimum Distance Technique (MDT) that calculates collision free path by searching grid points in Euclidean Space. The key mechanism for avoiding collision based on MDT is the one that determine the minimum distance between two links and between a link and the edge of obstacles. It is necessary to compute the minimum distance between one link segment and another link segment (or edge of obstacles) when a link of manipulator is approaching collide with another link, manipulators and edge of obstacles. The basic idea of CAA is to solve collision avoidance problem for Manipulator between link-to-link, manipulator-to-manipulator, and manipulator-to-obstacles based on MDT. The novelty of CAA is that it calculate the shortest path from star position to goal position for manipulator with many links in fully complicated and cluttered environments. The performance of CAA is evaluated for 2-dimensional environments while changing the number of links and obstacles placement. The computational time also has been examined. Evaluation results show that CAA calculates the shortest path in relatively short period of the computation time and moreover, it achieves the constant performance independent of environments

Recent rapid advancement of smartphone-based technologies  has offered a new opportunity in the management of water resources. To maintain stream water quality at a good level, public participation in a form of reporting any illegal discharge or accidental water pollution seems can be an alternative. However, the current public involvement is often discouraged due to the incovinient of the current reporting system that is available to the public. Therefore, we propose a smartphone-based information system for reporting a water pollution. The system is designed to provide a convinience approach for the public to report a water pollution event occuring in a stream.

Engaging stakeholders particularly student in iCGPA adoption through conventional physical seminar or face to face meeting may not an effective approach to reach total inclusive engagement within short time. Furthermore, it is costly to perform impact assessment on such approach timely and almost impossible to be implemented for real time monitoring and decision making. This paper discusses an alternative approach to engage students on iCGPA adoption by using digital simulation approach. We used a common spreadsheet application (Microsoft Excel 2016) as a tool to develop the simulation. To better develop thinking skills and creativity, students need to strategize their learning experiences that entail them to think and use their creative cognitive abilities. Bearing this in mind, a new learning model was developed by associating strategic thinking and creative thinking processes. We term this new model Creative Strategy Learning Model (CSLM), and we examined how the amalgam of both can provide new learning experience for learners. This study therefore measured the creative strategy learning model by employing an explorative approach, and we especially investigated its effectiveness to assist students perform better in public speaking. Researcher-developed strategic questionings and creativity checklist were used to help strategize 27 students' learning experiences in a public speaking course. Competent Speaker Speech Evaluation Form (CSSEF) was used to measure students' public speaking performance after the implementation of the creative strategy prior to an interview session with volunteered students. Analysis of the strategic questions and creativity checklist indicated that students performed better after each phase of the learning process. The strategic questions were able to help students to cognitively strategize their learning for a better performance in the next phase, and the creativity indicator has also motivated students to perform better. Results from the CSSEF indicated excellent overall competency of public speaking. The creative strategy learning model is shown to be essential to help students develop their thinking skills and creativity for better performance in public speaking. Constant and organized feedback on their performance at each phase of the learning experience proved to positively encourage them to perform better. Nevertheless, a thorough study with increased number of participants will strengthen the findings of this pilot evaluation.

Higher education is a critical organization for nation-building, either for economic development or social well-being. However, this noble and vital institution has been affected by the issue of “academic integrity” due to digital technology adoption, the Internet. Many research studies have been conducted and published, but the impact on the institution and society yet not been properly reported. This study attempts to assess the impact of research on academic integrity by exploring its relationship with web citation. Quantitative method is adopted by analyzing data collected from Google Scholar, SCOPUS, and aHref web analytics cloud service. This preliminary study was conducted to address the issue of academic planning skills among new university student. Due to lack of proper measurement mechanism for awareness and readiness among students, this study proposes Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) to assess the connection between student self-efficacy and college readiness. Qualitative and quantitative approach were used by provide an online self-assessment for new student of Faculty of Computer Systems & Software Engineering (FSKKP) and analyse the data respectively. The possible relationships between MAI and College Readiness Item (CRI) in self-assessment has been evaluated. The sample size of 368 respondents from UMP are responding to the online selfassessment. The initial finding shows most student (71%) of the respondent lack of skills in planning. We manage to use Pearson Product-moment correlation coefficient to find the significant relationship between MAI and CRI. Thus, we found that College Readiness provide sufficient evidence that there is a significant correlation with most of MAI items. The findings also indicated not much difference was found between gender in terms of self-efficacy level. This paper suggests the MAI and CRI is a reliable and valid scale to respond the planning skills issues among new university students.

There are many tools available over the Internet providing educators with the platform to implement online rubric marking assessment (ORMA). However, only a few success stories and studies about its usage among Malaysian higher education institutions have been reported, particularly in general courses such as Islāmic and Asian Civilizations (“TITAS”). Hence, this study aims to investigate students’ acceptance of an online rubric marking assessment of TITAS course at Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP). The study is descriptive using a self-administered online survey which deployed through UMP's official learning management system (LMS). The participants comprised 152 students out of a population of 1,590 students who took the TITAS course in Semester II of the 2016/ 2017 session. This study was conducted to address the issue of gathering information to track the career and accomplishments of graduates for quality improvement in higher education. Due to the lack of a convenient method to gather information using an efficient mechanism, this study reviewed graduate analytics based on the iCGPA system with the primary aim of examining its potential utility in such a system, and vice versa. A systematic literature review was conducted to integrate the relevant academic literature related to graduate analytics and iCGPA system. Using the PRISMA method, we identified 160 different articles, but only 125 met the specified inclusion criteria. Our analysis of the accepted articles to determine the potential of graduate analytics in iCGPA system, and vice versa, produced zero results where no intersection of the two topics could be found in the research literature from 2011 to 2018. PurposeBlended learning (BL) has been increasing in popularity and demand and has developed as a common practice in institutions of higher learning. Therefore, this study develops a model to evaluate the critical predictors that determine students' acceptance and deployment of BL in institutions of higher education based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB).Design/methodology/approachThe empirical analysis entails data collected from 1,811 responses from an online survey questionnaire from students in Malaysian universities, colleges and polytechnics. Many studies based on the literature and adopted approach by Ministry of Higher Education regarding graduate employability are using survey. This approach is lack with on-demand analytical capability for impactful decision making. There is a lack of study that predicts the duration of graduate to get employed based on quantitative analysis. Since all institutions of higher education are compulsory to adopt and implement outcomes-based education (OBE), this study aims to develop a predictive model on GE based on program learning outcomes (PLO) data. The social issue associate with divorce is not on the divorce process itself but rather than the impact to the individuals who experience divorce. Since divorce already become a stigma in society, most people perceived more on negative view instead of seeing it as a process to solve issues in marriage. With the high penetration of Internet technology globally especially the use of social network, it becomes a factor how people can cheat in marriage that lead to divorce. However, studies on the use of Internet or information technology in managing divorce is still lack. This paper aims to analyse the existing literature in Scopus database on divorce information management system and identify targeted stakeholders of the system. Graduate employability is a major concern for higher education industry. There is a lack of research on the use of program learning outcomes (PLO) data to predict graduate employability performance especially on the duration they get employed. Therefore, our motivation in this study is to investigate how PLO data can be used to predict graduate employability performance. This study adopted quantitative analysis as a research method by using Simple Linear Regression to measure the highest correlation and significance values between learning progress and duration graduate to get employed. The PLO data from all semesters were segmented into four-time segments: 1 st SEM, MID SEM, Pre-LI and LI. The slope value of linear model from time series analysis of four-time segments is used as a value to determine the performance of student learning progress. 47 responses (22% response rate) from 216 graduates who completed their study from Faculty of Computing, Universiti Malaysia Pahang in 2018 has been received as a case study. We found that learning progress from PLO 3 and PLO 6 which are 'Social Skills and Responsibilities' and 'Problem Solving and Scientific Skills' respectively, show significant values on the duration to get employed. This study highlights student learning progress is potential to be used as a predictor for graduate employability performance.

Movement Controlled Order (MCO) during COVID-19 pandemic causing global higher education to intensify the use of online learning to keep student engage with their study. While many institutions of higher learning plan for blended learning approach instead of full online, this sudden shift to full online causing bottleneck performance of Learning Management System (LMS). Therefore, the aim of this paper is to study the pattern of user engagement in LMS during pandemic. The case used in this study is LMS from Universiti Malaysia Pahang. Quantitative method has been chosen as a research method in this study where user interaction data from the LMS log is been used for engagement analysis. By combining the context of user engagement, we create temporal visualization matrix to gain the insight of user engagement pattern in LMS. Our findings show that both student and instructor are still highly engaged in LMS even after midnight. This insight is useful and significant for the institution (1) to deploy effective Quaity of Service (QoS) of LMS operation and (2) to design a policies related to quality assurance during pandemic by addressing the wellbeing aspect of student and instructor.

This paper explain the development of Anti Bribery Management System (ABMS) checklist to measure the state of readiness of an organization in implementing ABMS in its organization. Three instrumentals consisting of ABMS checklist, ABMS Matrix, and ABMS Dashboard were developed based on international references. ABMS has eight dimensions which are (1)Tone of the top, (2)risk assessment, (3)policies and procedures, (4)training and communication, (5)monitoring and auditing, (6)investigation and reports, (7)enforcement and sanction and (8)review and update. Data was collected in September 2017 from 31 middle and top management level of one organization as a preliminary study. The developed checklist was first validated by panel experts in the subject matter. A briefing session was then made to the respondents and they were then requested to answer the final checklist online. Data collected was then analyzed using descriptive statistics to gauge the perception of respondents towards the extent of implementation of ABMS in an organization. The organization was found to score 63.9%. Recommendations were suggested on how to improve the state of readiness of the implementation of ABMS

Research supervision is one of the important aspect in academic quality assurance and the sustainbility of the science itself. However, there is lack of attention based on research literature and evidence of good practice on research supervision from the context of academic integrity in higher education.
