There were 171 respondents who were identified using simple random sampling. They answered a survey questionnaire describing their proximity to the school while their Fourth Quarter Grades were used to assess their academic performance in Math. Data gathered were treated using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results revealed that most of the students are very far from school which they have to walk to reach school. Most of their houses are not accessible to the road. They had a very satisfactory performance in Math. Moreover, there was a significant relationship between the students' distance to school and their academic performance in Math. However, no significant relationships between the student's mode of transportation, house accessibility to the road, and their academic performance in Math were found. Thus, it is recommended that school administrators and teachers design programs that would address students' challenges in attending school relative to their house to school distance while the government provides infrastructures that would address concerns on long-distance travel of the students.

To overcome financial constraints and to be self-sufficient while studying, high school students choose to find errands. In Toledo City, Cebu, Philippines, thirty-one public high school students working part-time were studied to find answers if there was a link between time management, self-efficacy, and academic performance, specifically, assessing the respondents' math performance, using the adopted survey questionnaire. The results revealed that they performed satisfactorily in math while practicing moderate time management and having moderate self-efficacy in the subject. There was no significant relationship between time management and math performance; however, self-efficacy and math performance had a significant weak positive correlation. As a result, teachers are encouraged to create programs that boost students' self-e...

The strict implementation of the law may have caused Filipino women to speak up and report abuses against them. The study determined the model for the trends, a sample forecast for the next 10 years, and relatedness of the reported crime of violence against women and the Gender Gap Index (GGI) in the Philippines. It retrieved data from the reports of the Philippines Statistics Authority and of the World Economic Forum from 2006 to 2017 through data mining. This study employed descriptive methods via time trend analyses using Minitab R and Symbolic Regression using Eureqa Pro. Using time trend analysis, the reported cases of violence against women fits the Quadratic Trend Model (MAD=1968) while the quality of gender equality in the Philippines fits the Linear Trend Model (MAD=0.00306). A descriptive method approach was employed, and a close-ended type of questionnaire to gather data from Grade 9 student respondents selected using random sampling. The findings reveal a significant relationship between some of the students' perceptions of technical drawing competencies and the identified profile variables, such as the students' perception of the adequacy of strongly linked facilities to mensuration, freehand drawing, lettering, construct geometric figures and construct pictorial drawing competencies. Gender is well associated with freehand drawing, specifically among female respondents, while the final grade was correlated with their ...

First, it validates previous studies on heart diseases via ascertaining statistical models of analyses that estimate heart disease mortality predictability in the Philippines. It then proceeds to understand the implications of the issue through promoting health and lifestyle education. To do this, first, the report from the Epidemiology Bureau of the Department of Health (EBDOH) on mortality cases of diseases of the heart in the Philippines. Based on the statistical analyses, time series analysis suggested that the growth of heart disease mortality in the Philippines followed a quadratic trend. Moreover, symbolic regression (SR) analysis revealed that heredity has more significant influence over lifestyle between the identified factors. Based on the proposed models, this paper implies furthering community-oriented health and wellness programs as practical means to avoid untimely d...

While this match between curricular offerings in academia and needs in the industry has been addressed in many countries across the globe through initiatives such as the K-12 educational system, some countries like the Philippines have only started its adoption. In the Philippines’ early adoption of the K-12 educational system, several concerns have been raised regarding its implementation, mainly, the mismatch between coursework offered in Philippine K-12 educational institutions with industry demands. With such outcomes, it is necessary to determine the status of the K-12 educational system in the Philippines. This paper attempts to shed light on such concerns by evaluating the performance of the K-12 students using a standardized approach. The Scholastic Abilities Test for Adults, a standardized test for measuring the academic competence of adults, is ...
