Although 115 municipalities have passed local residence regulations for restricting sex offender residence in NJ, NJ state law doesn’t restrict where offenders may live (Zgoba et al., 2009). Within the light of recent developments, NJ has attracted the attention of many with regards to sex offender residence restrictions. On May, 2009 NJ Supreme Court invalidated restrictions on where sex offenders can live with a 6-0 ruling on the grounds that “Megan’s Law already protects children from sexual predators by providing communities with information about the offenders and allowing parole officers to decide where they live”. Accordingly with that decision it’s up to policy makers to decide if municipalities should have the power to implement these restrictions. Thus the study of the potential impact and rationality of these restrictions in New Jersey constitute a particular importance with regards to future adaptations of these restrictions. In the scope of this study specific counties of New Jersey will be analyzed to understand the impact of residency restrictions on availability and affordability of housing for sex offenders using the GIS software. While multiple theories attempt to account for this increase, our study examines the impact of changes in human mobility resulting from stay-at-home and social distancing measures on variations in homicide incidents. We conducted a fixed-effects Poisson regression analysis using panel data that encompasses the day of the week and week collected from Chicago between February 2020 and July 2021. Our findings indicate that the increased time spent in residential settings due to stay-at-home orders is not a significant factor in explaining the rise in homicide numbers. Instead, our study suggests that the pandemic as a whole and its influence on individual strains provide a more plausible explanation for the increase in homicide incidence.

İn this study, the author used academic literatüre about reentry to investigate the challenges regarding female reentry process and programs in the United States. The results of this study provide strong support for policy implications, which include investing in community resources that strengthen the capacity of neighborhoods to work with this population, the need of making parole supervision more flexible to reduce the risk that women fail to meet their parole requirements, and providing comprehensive Services to female offenders after their release. Finaliy, reentry programs for women offenders in order to provide better and more efficient service features are suggested. Directions forfuture research are discussed so as to evaluate the different policy initiatives
