These drivers of change have increasingly resulted in severe impacts on socio-economic and environmental parameters. Projected climate, land-use and socio-economic change will impact on islands' biodiversity, ecosystem services and, in turn, on the quality of life of island inhabitants. Even if the existing methods can adequately predict the abovementioned changes of the larger islands, this is not the case for small and medium-size islands, where there is a need for refinement. Although ecosystem services (ES) assessments have been carried out worldwide in different geographical areas, islands are still under-represented. Despite the recognised islands' importance and vulnerability, efforts to date have focused solely on the pressures they face. Still, we know little about ES supply, flow and demand and their spatio-temporal variability, whilst integrated approaches that consider ES cross-island realms (terrestrial, marine and their interface) remain scarce. Even more underrepresented are studies that explore the telecoupled relationship amongst islands and their mainland counterparts. Moreover, the current conceptual approaches guiding ES mapping and assessment need further refinement to account for the complex manifestations of nature and culture arising from peoples' interaction with island spaces. This paper discusses the creation of a platform for coordinated interdisciplinary research on several aspects of mapping and assessment of ES in small and medium European islands in order to synthesise and strengthen the knowledge base for conservation of island realms and contribute to their sustainable development.

The main objective of this paper is to know the truth of the relations of the USSR and its behavior with Albania. Methods: The paper focuses on analyzing this period as a case study, selecting three levels (context-actors-outcomes). Evaluation of the period (1948-1959) is done through the identification of key indicators and the implications of the relationship in domestic and international contexts. The sources used include documents, interviews, films, newspapers, and books. We requested permission to use the Archival resources of the Albanian Central State Archives (AQSH), where they made some accessible non-state secret resources workable only within the archive available to us. I argue that the status and the role of Krutan women are mostly restricted from the impact of a patriarchal society, fanaticism and negative mentality, beside the lack of opportunities that are in place in Kruja. The other stresses include economic issues. Change will come if all the society, girls and boys, men and women, are willing to undertake it.

One of the successful branches that have contributed to the economic growth of these countries is tourism. Albania is a country with an ancient history reflected in its rich cultural heritage with national and international values. To date, the preservation of its values has been associated with the preservation of national identity, pride, and wealth, while the integration into regional development policies is seen as a good opportunity not only for the preservation of cultural heritage but also for its real contribution to the sustainable economic and social development of the country. Based on the historical and ethnocultural study of Albania in general, and the city of Durres in particular, there is a need for a scientific study oriented to this economic, historical, and cultural attraction, useful and profitable for the regional economy in particul...

Tase M. Xhaferri Albania 90 years marked the fall of the communist system as it was in all Eastern European countries. Albania faced with radical changes not only in economic social field but also in the education field. Problems in-herited from the past were very deeply. So the issue needs deep reforms in this area. Should be liquidated structure, management methods models form the hardness stencil, rusty that we had last time and should be built lesson plans, curriculum texts with Western democratic face. Another view was required for the organization of learning and education, a modern vi-sion for cooperation between school and family community. Economic, social and cultural problems in the district of Tirana, after 90 years, as a result of internal migration

We have especially concentrated on the grouping of inhabitants arriving from the Northern and Southern areas of Albania and who have settled in Bathore, Baldushk, Sauk, Selite, Farke. The inhabitants have been mainly canvassed (questioned) in relation to these problems: a.Reasons of movingb.Problems of adaptation in the new environment (confrontation with the new mentality of the Capital City, employment, education etc.)c.Cohabitation with the natives (found there, including here maritial and social relations etc.) These are problems which willingly or unwillingly these new comers have had to face and will face in the future, up to the moment when they will be fully integrated in a metropolitan city such as Tirana. Here we will take into consideration the changes they have had to undergo due to the living conditions they have left behind and from which they are still affected.

That is considered to be a high tourism potential and a basis for a more sustainable development of the economy of the area in which they are found. Changes of sea level rise on the Adriatic coast lagoon prominently displayed on the change of biodiversity. Besides the natural factors in this lagoon as well as all other lagoons of the Adriatic coast it feels a lot during the last 60 years of pressure from human society itself. In the dynamics of the waters of the Patok lagoon play a major role in hydrological processes of climate (the arrival of water through tides, increasing during heavy autumn, winter flooding, evaporation process of the wind, etc.), which raise or lower the level water in the lagoon creating this process through channels connecting the Patoku sea. The study aims to identify the values of this wetland complex located in the coastline and is identified as a region in a critic...
Environment in Tirana and Its Pollution as a Result of Urban Development after 90 Years

In the context as for environmental change, Albania is one of the countries with a wide range of problems that have been and are constantly in the focus of attention not only state institutions but also non-governmental organizations operating in authors' country. In this city that appears to approach a problem from the stand point of the environment is Tirana. Tirana as the capital of this country has experienced two decades such an extra ordinary transformation that has not been without its environmental costs. Human activities have transformed the environment in Tirana. Greater quantities of waste generated especially solid waste are those caused by major construction boom in Tirana performed. Considerable amount of clinical waste involved in urban waste, in places where hospital, sand clinics, and th...

The aim of the study is to identify the values of this wetland complex located along the coastline which has been identified as a region that is more sensitive and critical to climate changes. Our work has been based over several years, arriving at conclusions to benefit the community lying in the area of the lagoons. In developing our protective measures we reference countries like Italy, France, Denmark etc. We have also found solutions including the work of geographers and geologists. Also we include demographics to be sensitive to local government bodies as we seek to preserve and protect these natural assets located along the Adriatic coast.

An educated society leads the development of a nation. Education is also one of the areas which is also strongly influenced by it and social change. The fact that the educational systems are in permanent change does not show instability. But rather on the other side, they serve to better adapt the society which is changing. Starting from the beginning the education system in Albania has experienced changes after the collapse of the communist system and the approach of society to these changes has been a sensitive issue. These changes were not very studied, since they were in a very unfavorable environments, in which our education system came from a widespread politicization, and they did not always have the right fruits which was often perceived by us as experiments. These changes have not passed without debate, not only by academics, but also by students and civil society. Methodology: The work is based on a comparative...

The Bologna process which began in 2003 with the signing of the Bologna declaration has led to the development of the European Higher Education Area combining respect for the diversity of programs, institutions and educational traditions in specific countries. As results of these process Albanian universities have introduced the following, training at three levels (licentiates, Master's and PhD). Through this paper we shall try to show what the tools are needed to achieve autonomy and put in the efficiency for our university system to serve a quality education and increase the academic quality of higher education institutions themselves

This area includes 66.4km or ¼ of the Adriatic coastline. The coastal zone management study provides recognition and protection of the environment from the negative phenomena that appear under the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors on the land and assessment of coastal phenomena in the service of society at both national, regional and local levels. It should be emphasized that the ocean level rise due to global climate warming is also reflected in the sea. But what may become offensive in terms of land and in a not too distant future, may include an important area which is favored by nearly flat surfaces sloping quite gradually. Also problematic are the siesmatic shifts in the slow tectonic Velipoje area which is in the northern part of the field of Lezha, and less Mates coast. One of the most serious shortcomings of the North Coast area is the environmental management or rather the lack of it. In this paper we will try to address the problems of this area in the context of tourism and relevant measures for better management and to protect it from the erosion phenomenon.

Therefore, for sustainable economic and financial growth and well-planned development, public and private investments should be directed to areas of priority tourism development. Research on the effect of perceptions on the behavior of tourists in these two countries has not been carried out before, thus, the purpose of this research is to determine whether the effects of the perception of tourists has an impact on economic and financial development based on factors (F1 (f.1.1 and f.1.2) and F2 (f.2.1 and f. 2.2)). For this study, the data were provided by respondents from several cities in Albania and Kosovo. A total of 1002 questionnaires divided into three sessions were analyzed using factor analysis, data reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis. All analyses were performed using SPSS version 23.0 for Windows. In this case, 23 variable...
