Wilayah Malang Raya dilewati 12 Sub DAS dimana 4 diantaranya melewati 3 Kabupaten/Kota sekaligus.. Keempat sub DAS yang dimaksud adalah Sub DAS Metro, Bango, Amprong dan Manten. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah merumuskan kajian daya dukung dan daya tampung air untuk menjadi rekomendasi untuk masukan dalam perencanaan tata ruang di wilayah Malang yang terintegrasi.. The Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 32 of 2009 and 26 of 2007 affirms that need environme... more The Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 32 of 2009 and 26 of 2007 affirms that need environmental carrying capacity in preparation of regional spatial plans. The Great Malang bypassed 12 sub-watershed which is 4 of them pass 3 regency / city directly. Therefore, it needs an integrated spatial arrangement between the three regions. The purpose of this research is to formulate study of water carrying capacity (WCC) and recommendation for input in spatial planning in Malang area. The results of the water carrying capacity study show that Metro and the Bango Sub-watershed is very worrying because its critical condition has been exceeded before 2015. While the Amprong and Manten sub-waters are still safe until 2030.

River becomes an important part in tourism spatial planning of a region, because almost all the waste from human activities dumped into the river, thus it will affect the quality of the river water. Malang Raya passed by 12 sub-watersheds whereas 4 of them passed 3 districts/cities, namely Metro, Bango, Amprong and Manten sub-watershed. Therefore, it needs an integrated spatial planning between the three regions, especially to support tourism destination. The purpose of this research is to formulate water carrying capacity assessment and its recommendation in spatial planning in Malang area. This is a quantitative-descriptive study using regular monitoring of water quality in 20 rivers surrounding Malang Raya by Malang Department of Environment. The results of this study show that the sub-watershed area of Metro, Bango, Amprong and Manten are classified into mild contaminated. This condition, one of them, is caused by land use changing in upstream areas. A bit more pollution in the river will affect the number of tourist visits to Malang Raya area.
