In these activities we use monolingual corpora with integrated language processing tools (BNC, HNC, Corpus of Greek Texts). In the first activity, we check how appropriate a lexical choice is in the target language by using concordance tables in both languages. The second activity consists in choosing between two or more possible appropriate words in the target language depending on the context shown in concordance tables in both languages. The use of linguistic corpora in translation teaching thus proves to contribute to the improvement of the translation product.
Στην παρούσα εργασία αναπτύσσονται δύο διδακτικές δραστηριότητες στο πλαίσιο της διδασκαλίας της ... more Στην παρούσα εργασία αναπτύσσονται δύο διδακτικές δραστηριότητες στο πλαίσιο της διδασκαλίας της μετάφρασης αγγλικής-ελληνικής με τη μέθοδο “data-driven learning”. Στις δραστηριότητες αυτές χρησιμοποιούνται μονόγλωσσα σώματα κειμένων (ΣΚ) με ενσωματωμένα εργαλεία επεξεργασίας (BNC, ΕΘΕΓ, ΣΕΚ). Στην πρώτη δραστηριότητα ελέγχεται η καταλληλότητα λεξιλογικής επιλογής στη γλώσσα-στόχος με χρήση συμφραστικών πινάκων στις δύο γλώσσες. Η δεύτερη είναι δραστηριότητα επιλογής μεταξύ δύο ή περισσότερων πιθανών κατάλληλων λέξεων στη γλώσσα-στόχος βάσει συγκειμένου με χρήση συμφραστικών πινάκων στις δύο γλώσσες. Με τον τρόπο αυτό αποδεικνύεται ότι η χρήση των ΣΚ στις δραστηριότητες διδασκαλίας μετάφρασης συμβάλλει στη βελτίωση του μεταφραστικού αποτελέσματος.

In this paper we present a method for term extraction that can be used in classroom with translation students. The terms are extracted from a multilingual parallel corpus with the aid of a parallel concordancer, AntPConc. Our work is focused on English-Greek medical terminology translation, but the method can be transferred to other language pairs and other fields of terminology. In the first part, there is a short presentation of the theoretical framework with due reference to data-driven learning and corpora, followed by a presentation of the corpus used, i.e. the EMEA corpus, as well as the parallel concordancer AntPConc, so that sufficient information is given in order to implement the suggested teaching activity, which is presented in the last part of this paper. Finally, we suggest other uses of AntPConc, and present the advantages of the suggested methodology for translation students.

Αντικείμενο της παρούσας εργασίας είναι ο σχεδιασμός μίας διαφοροποιημένης εμπειρίας ξενάγησης σε... more Αντικείμενο της παρούσας εργασίας είναι ο σχεδιασμός μίας διαφοροποιημένης εμπειρίας ξενάγησης σε ιστορικούς και μνημειακούς τόπους από μαθητές/τριες της Δευτεροβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης με την αξιοποίηση της εφαρμογής Επαυξημένης Πραγματικότητας (EΠ) Metaverse και του πολυμεσικού εργαλείου ActionBound στο ιστορικό κέντρο της Αθήνας. Τα τελευταία χρόνια, στο πλαίσιο εκσυγχρονισμού της διδακτικής της Ιστορίας και της επαφής με τον αρχαιολογικό χώρο, οι τεχνολογίες ΕΠ συναντούν ολοένα και περισσότερες εφαρμογές με στόχο την αύξηση της εμπλοκής των συμμετεχόντων. Η επέτειος, λοιπόν, των 200 χρόνων από την Ελληνική Επανάσταση του 1821 στάθηκε η αφορμή οργάνωσης και σχεδιασμού μίας μεικτής ξενάγησης (συμβατικού και ψηφιακού χαρακτήρα) στη λογική ενός “κυνηγιού θησαυρού” σε επιλεγμένους σταθμούς του ιστορικού κέντρου της Αθήνας, με κριτήριο τη μετοχή και τον ρόλο τους σε δύο ιστορικότητες, την ήδη γνώριμη αρχαία και την λιγότερο γνωστή σύγχρονη, με έμφαση στην ευρύτερη περίοδο του εθνικοαπελευθερωτικού αγώνα και των σημαντικών προσώπων του. Στο πλαίσιο της αυτενέργειας, οι εμπλεκόμενοι μαθητές/τριες διαιρέθηκαν σε δύο ομάδες (σε ρόλο ξεναγών και ξεναγούμενων) και υπό την καθοδήγηση και το σενάριο των εκπαιδευτικών, οργάνωσαν τόσο την προετοιμασία όσο και την υλοποίηση της ξενάγησης, προσεγγίζοντας σε μεγάλο βαθμό την επιδιωκόμενη ενεργή μάθηση μέσω της εκπλήρωσης των κριτηρίων ενός συστήματος ΕΠ και αναπτύσσοντας γνωστικές, κοινωνικές και ψηφιακές δεξιότητες.
