Research and development on augmented reality system for military industries has been start since 1993 by Metzger and keep continuing. Since latest research on Battlefield Augmented Reality System, there is found that mechanism to continue the research for respective country. Involvement Malaysia in producing local military product still at the beginning stage which need more expansion in terms of money, time and specialist. Certain area within the military product contains very sensitive issues regarding to national security. This paper will present SWOT analysis, which stand for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in development augmented reality system for Malaysia's military operations.

Open source will refer to source code for the any application or system been developed not for sale and not for profitoriented. Users and developers can use the source code without any license fee, but still need to follow any regulation that state in the license’s terms and conditions. This paper will focus on development of the application system with situational awareness concept. In definition, situational awareness can be defined as ability to identify the environment situation with processing level of criticality in one time. Outcome from the application will track geographic location for every single army, which been trace through Global Positioning System (GPS) that installed in that army’s smart phone (in the same time running this application). Besides that, this paper will also present military element which critical in surveillance process for every single unit.

The WannaCry ransomware outbreak suddenly brings a different view and perception on how currently the cyberspace being managed. Even as quoted by CNBC the attacker may make within the USD$50,000 from the ransom, but it had to make the organization such as Moller-Maersk to increase investment for cybersecurity up to USD$300m. It reported that the organization also a victim of the ransomware throughout that campaign. No secret the WannaCry is causing by of exploiting the more than 30 years old protocol, the SMB version 1 protocol. The flexibility using SMB protocol make it maintain relevant among of users especially from the variant of Windows operating system. In this case study, it will discuss further on SMB protocol, the history, the vulnerability associated with it and how to secure it. This paper being organized with the (chapter 1) introduction surrounding SMB protocol, (chapter 2) in-depth discussion on the vulnerability surround it, (chapter 3) the strategy to securing the SMB protocol and (chapter 4) the conclusion also alternative other than SMB protocol.
