Starting from regulatory texts, we first explicit SBVR rules and then formalize them into ontology-based rules in the SPARQL language. These are exploited in the modeling of the compliance checking process required for the delivering of technical assessments.

Containing valuable business information, these systems are highly interesting to attackers and special care needs to be taken to prevent them from malicious accesses. In this paper, we propose (RBAC +), an extension of the NIST RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) standard with the notions of application, application profile and sub-application session to distinguish end users that execute the same application, providing them by only the needed roles and continuously monitoring them throughout a whole session. It is based on business application logic rather than primitive reads and writes to enhance the ability of detecting malicious transactions. Hence, attacks caused by malicious transactions can be detected and canceled timely before they succeed.

Semantic Web Approach to Ease Regulation Compliance Checking in Construction Industry

Regulations in the Building Industry are becoming increasingly complex and involve more than one ... more Regulations in the Building Industry are becoming increasingly complex and involve more than one technical area, covering products, components and project implementations. They also play an important role in ensuring the quality of a building, and to minimize its environmental impact. Control or conformance checking are becoming more complex every day, not only for industrials, but also for organizations charged with assessing the conformity of new products or processes. This paper will detail the approach taken by the CSTB (Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment) in order to simplify this conformance control task. The approach and the proposed solutions are based on semantic web technologies. For this purpose, we first establish a domain-ontology, which defines the main concepts involved and the relationships, including one based on OWL (Web Ontology Language) [1]. We rely on SBVR (Semantics of Business Vocabulary and Business Rules) [2] and SPARQL (SPARQL Protocol and RDF Query Language) [3] to reformulate the regulatory requirements written in natural language, respectively, in a controlled and formal language. We then structure our control process based on expert practices. Each elementary control step is defined as a SPARQL query and assembled into complex control processes "on demand", according to the component tested and its semantic OPEN ACCESS Future Internet 2012, 4 831 definition. Finally, we represent in RDF (Resource Description Framework) [4] the association between the SBVR rules and SPARQL queries representing the same regulatory constraints.

Considering a method we have developed to acquire and represent the expert knowledge involved in the conformity checking process, we highlight the need to reduce the gap between the expert knowledge primary captured in the domain ontology and the end user knowledge. We propose a method to contextualize the ontological knowledge initially acquired and to adapt it to different user profiles.

Cet article présente la méthode et le système C3R pour vérifier de façon semi-automatique la conf... more Cet article présente la méthode et le système C3R pour vérifier de façon semi-automatique la conformité d'un projet de construction par rapport à des normes du bâtiment. Les projets de construction sont représentés par des graphes RDF et les normes par des requêtes SPARQL ; le processus de contrôle consiste en l'appariement des requêtes et des graphes. Son efficacité repose sur l'acquisition de connaissances ontologiques et sur un processus d'extraction de connaissances guidé par ce but spécifique de contrôle de conformité qui prend en compte les connaissances ontologiques acquises. Elle repose ensuite sur des méta-connaissances acquises auprès des experts du CSTB qui permettent de guider le contrôle lui-même : les requêtes représentant les normes sont annotées et organisées selon ces annotations. Ces annotations sont également utilisées dans les interactions avec l'utilisateur de C3R pour expliquer les résultats du processus de validation, en particulier en cas d'échec.

Cooperative spectrum sensing using a distributed model provides improved detection for the primary user, which opens the CR system to a new security threat. This threat is the decrease of the cooperative sensing performance due to the spectrum sensing data falsification which is generated from malicious users. Our proposed scheme, based on robust statistics, utilizes only available past sensing nodes' received power data for estimating the distribution parameters of the primary signal presence and absence hypotheses. These estimated parameters are used to perform the Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence data fusion which causes the elimination of malicious users. Furthermore, in order to enhance performance, a node's reliability weight is supplemented along with the data fusion scheme. Simulation results indicate that our proposed scheme can provide a powerful capability in eliminating malicious users as well as a high gain of data fusion under various cases of channel condition.

An Enhanced Cooperative Spectrum Sensing Scheme Based on Evidence Theory and Reliability Source Evaluation in Cognitive Radio Context

Cooperative spectrum sensing is widely accepted as an effective method to improve the reliability... more Cooperative spectrum sensing is widely accepted as an effective method to improve the reliability of spectrum sensing. However, spectrum sensing data falsification attacks (SSDF attacks) have posed serious threats to the credibility of cooperative spectrum sensing. This paper proposes an evidence theory-based anti-SSDF cooperative spectrum sensing scheme that eliminates the influence that malicious users have on the system performance in cooperative spectrum sensing. First, the data fusion center calculates the credibility according to the Jousselme distance between the evidence vectors. Then based on the credibility, the influence of malicious users on the fusion decision is reduced by using the weighted probability assignment for each cognitive user. Furthermore, to reduce the costs of collaboration and the amount of computation in applying evidence theory, the new scheme introduces a projection approximation algorithm at the local spectrum sensing process with weighted averaging in the data fusion phase. The results of the simulation show that the proposed scheme not only improves the system performance when malicious users initiate SSDF attacks, but also reduces the cooperative bandwidth and computational complexity.
