Este último entendido como la diferencia entre la tasa real de cambio observada y la tasa de equilibrio. Para llevar a cabo este ejercicio se utiliza el enfoque de tendencias comunes asociadas a un modelo VEC estructural (SVEC). El ejercicio, llevado a cabo para el período 1962-2005, indica que la tasa real de cambio ha estado sobrevaluada principalmente entre 1962 y 1974, en 1983-1985 y en 1995-1997. Los resultados sugieren que la tasa de cambio real no ha estado lejos del equilibrio en los años recientes. The present work presents the results obtained with a stainless steel (SS) voltammetric sensor to... more The present work presents the results obtained with a stainless steel (SS) voltammetric sensor to detect variations in humidity (H2O) and oxygen (O2) availability in concretes. First, studies in solution were run by preparing several solutions to represent the different conditions that can be found in concrete pores. Second, the sensor’s response was studied by varying O2 availability by argon or synthetic air bubbling. Then concrete conditions with different degrees of carbonation were simulated using solutions with a pH between 13 and 8.45. After characterization in solution, a study by means of concrete samples with several water/cement ratios (0.6, 0.5 and 0.4) was performed, in which sensors were embedded and studied under different O2 and H2O saturation conditions. This study proposes a simple expression to reliable determine resistivity from the concrete electrical resistance (RE) provided by the corrosion sensor of the Integrated Network of Sensors for Smart Corrosion Monitoring (INESSCOM) we have developed. The novelty here is that distinct from common resistivity sensors, the cell constants obtained by the proposed expression are intended to be valid for any sensor implementation scenario. This was ensured by studying most significant geometrical features of the sensor in a wide set of calibration solutions. The main objective of this study was to analyze the influence that the addition of finely ground ... more The main objective of this study was to analyze the influence that the addition of finely ground hydrated lime has on chloride-induced reinforcement corrosion in eco-efficient concrete made with 50% cement replacement by fly ash. Six tests were carried out: mercury intrusion porosimetry, chloride migration, accelerated chloride penetration, electrical resistivity, and corrosion rate. The results show that the addition of 10–20% of lime to fly ash concrete did not affect its resistance to chloride penetration. However, the cementitious matrix density is increased by the pozzolanic reaction between the fly ash and added lime. As a result, the porosity and the electrical resistivity improved (of the order of 10% and 40%, respectively), giving rise to a lower corrosion rate (iCORR) of the rebars and, therefore, an increase in durability. One of the most attractive is the one that leads to the re-formulation of the problems affecting knowledge, and involves the re-conceptualization of study objects and the development of new strategies (of discovery and invention) to resolve them. This re-conceptualization, which might be the subtle stroke that adds a new element or, conversely, the construction of a complex object, requires a revision of not simply the relationships between the different domains of science, but also of all that is incorporated into, and all that is left out of each disciplinary perimeter. This sort of scrutiny concerns the core problem of questioning the science that produces fragmented knowledge that is not only insufficient to take on many problems that face humanity on differing scales, from global to local, but also contributes to modelling a view of the world from which those problems (famine, poverty, war, violence, climatic change, the energy and water crises) emerge, and that are characteristic of the so called civilization crisis. When speaking of these problems we generally say they are multidimensional, that is, they are the result of the interaction of various natural and social processes, and their study requires, in consequence, interdisciplinary research. Meta learning techniques such as cross-validation and ensemble learning are crucial for applying ... more Meta learning techniques such as cross-validation and ensemble learning are crucial for applying machine learning to real-world use cases. These techniques first generate samples from input data, and then train and evaluate machine learning models on these samples. For meta learning on large datasets, the efficient generation of samples becomes problematic, especially when the data is stored distributed in a block-partitioned representation, and processed on a shared-nothing cluster. We present a novel, parallel algorithm for efficient sample generation from large, block-partitioned datasets in a shared-nothing architecture. This algorithm executes in a single pass over the data, and minimizes inter-machine communication. The algorithm supports a wide variety of sample generation techniques through an embedded user-defined sampling function. We illustrate how to implement distributed sample generation for popular meta learning techniques such as hold-out tests, k-fold cross-validation, and bagging, using our algorithm and present an experimental evaluation on datasets with billions of datapoints.

Resumen El cultivo de algodonero en las décadas de los 50´s y 80´s fue uno de los más importantes... more Resumen El cultivo de algodonero en las décadas de los 50´s y 80´s fue uno de los más importantes en los valles agrícolas del norte de Sinaloa, México desde el punto de vista económico. Sin embargo, factores como su monocultivo y problemas fitosanitarios provocaron su desaparición. Ante la necesidad de diversificar el patrón actual de cultivos sembrados en la zona, existe la posibilidad de reintroducir el cultivo, sin embargo, se carece de información actualizada sobre riegos y manejo agronómico. Con el fin de contribuir a una nueva planeación del cultivo se utilizó un modelo integral de programación de riego con el cual se estimaron la ventana de siembras y la planeación del riego a diferentes niveles de operación hidráulica. Experimentos de campo se condujeron durante el ciclo agrícola otoño-invierno 2011-2012 en tres localidades del norte de Sinaloa en los municipios de Ahome y Guasave, en cada parcela se establecieron cinco variedades en una superficie de dos hectáreas con el propósito de calibrar el modelo para posteriormente realizar una serie de simulaciones en siete fechas de siembra y estimar los requerimientos hídricos y duración del ciclo. Al final del ciclo se obtuvo una acumulación de 2400 GDA (Grados de días acumulados) (100% de bellotas abiertas) para condiciones locales, un requerimiento hídrico de 500 mm para el mes de Julio y 870 mm para el mes de Octubre, después de este disminuyen nuevamente las necesidades hídricas llegando a 690 mm para siembras del mes de Enero. We report herein the use of a combined system for the analysis of the spoilage of wine when in co... more We report herein the use of a combined system for the analysis of the spoilage of wine when in contact with air. The system consists of a potentiometric electronic tongue and a humid electronic nose. The potentiometric electronic tongue was built with thick-film serigraphic techniques using commercially available resistances and conductors for hybrid electronic circuits; i.e. Ag, Au, Cu, Ru, AgCl, and C. The humid electronic nose was designed in order to detect vapours that emanate from the wine and are apprehended by a moist environment. The humid nose was constructed using a piece of thin cloth sewn, damped with distilled water, forming five hollows of the right size to introduce the electrodes. In this particular case four electrodes were used for the humid electronic nose: a glass electrode, aluminium (Al), graphite and platinum (Pt) wires and an Ag-AgCl reference electrode. The humid electronic nose together with the potentiometric electronic tongue were used for the evaluation of the evolution in the course of time of wine samples. Additionally to the analysis performed by the tongue and nose, the spoilage of the wines was followed via a simple determination of the titratable (total) acidity.

A new electronic tongue to monitor the presence of glyphosate (a non-selective systemic herbicide... more A new electronic tongue to monitor the presence of glyphosate (a non-selective systemic herbicide) has been developed. It is based on pulse voltammetry and consists in an array of three working electrodes (Pt, Co and Cu) encapsulated on a methacrylate cylinder. The electrochemical response of the sensing array was characteristic of the presence of glyphosate in buffered water (phosphate buffer 0.1 mol• dm −3 , pH 6.7). Rotating disc electrode (RDE) studies were carried out with Pt, Co and Cu electrodes in water at room temperature and at pH 6.7 using 0.1 mol• dm −3 of phosphate as a buffer. In the presence of glyphosate, the corrosion current of the Cu and Co electrodes increased significantly, probably due to the formation of Cu 2+ or Co 2+ complexes. The pulse array waveform for the
