However, it faces varying challenges across regions, shaped by political instability, economic pressures, and restrictive legislative environments. Understanding global press freedom dynamics is crucial for promoting free expression and ensuring the safety of journalists. This study presents in-depth analysis on press freedom trends across various regions and countries, examining key political, economic, legislative, social, and security factors. Using a comprehensive dataset from 2022 rankings, examining political factors, legal systems, and press safety conditions, the research aims to thoroughly analyze the relationship between media freedom and political dynamics in different settings. Also, the study highlights the severity of the situations faced by journalists, including incidents of imprisonment, killings, and threats to their safety, while considering the impact of broader political and economic factors. The study revealed that political score, economic score, legislative Score, social score, and security score are key factors that influence Global Media Freedom. The cluster analysis revealed two clusters indicated by low scores and high scores of various indices. This study offers valuable insights into the ongoing efforts to promote press freedom globally and highlights the role of political and social systems in shaping media landscapes.
