Countries that desire to develop need special kinds of leaders, leaders that are more than accomplished administrators and managers. The work examined innovative leadership as a catalyst for national development. The research is guided by two research questions:-(1) are there factors undermining innovative leadership in Nigeria? (2) Are there ways of producing innovative leaders to stir development projects in Nigeria? The work is based on survey research, 300 questionnaires were distributed and the information gathered was analyzed using a mean in which the decision is 2.5. The work is anchored on rational policy analysis as the theoretical framework. The paper analyzed issues of innovative leadership and the role it can play in sustainable development. The work revealed that certain factors are undermining innovative leaders in Nigeria and found that citizens can elect leaders that can stir development projects in Nigeria. Drawing experiences from developed and developing countries in the globalized era. The paper shows that Nigerian leadership cannot successfully address challenges of national development unless it embraces the qualities of innovative leadership which include vision, charisma, confidence, willingness to be different, courage, humility, willingness to make great sacrifices for (his) vision, strong sense of justice, and concern for others. The paper concludes and recommends that Nigeria should move above ethnic sentiment and elect leaders who would bring about innovative ideas, and values to transform the country.

Currently, the level of poverty has skyrocketed and people hardly provide for one square meal a day. The inflation rate has increased to 20.77%, the debt profile is 41.62 trillion, the unemployment rate has risen to 33.3% and the GDP growth rate is 3.5%. Consequently, these precarious conditions in Nigeria have led to massive migration of both trained and untrained professionals like academics, doctors, nurses, engineers, builders, and even students to developed countries. Thus, this study examined the impact of migration on the socio-economic development of Nigeria from 2015 to 2021. The study relied on secondary sources of data collection and data collected were analyzed using content analysis. The study is anchored on relative deprivation theory and argues that poverty is the major driving force for the migration of Nigerians to developed countries. The security, economic, and political conditions in Nigeria have worsened the surge of people migrating in search of better living conditions and safety. The study revealed that Nigeria has lost skilled personnel with the capacity to transform the economy through the wealth of knowledge at their disposal to developed countries. The study concludes and recommends that the government should expedient efforts in tackling insecurity confronting the nation, create more job opportunities, and improve the environment to stop people from migrating. Furthermore, good economic policies should be formulated and implemented to revamp the Nigerian economy to compete with the developed world.

There are diverse opinions about factors responsible for the status of African nations on the development ladder in the world. However, the interdependence of countries necessitates the granting of aid to African countries to enhance development and promote economic growth. This study examines the politics of foreign aid and development in Africa focusing on Nigeria. It interrogates the implication of foreign aid on development and the politics behind the granting of aid by the developed nations to Nigeria. The study is a qualitative research that relies on secondary sources of data collection. The data collected are analyzed using content analysis. The study is anchored on dependency theory and argues that foreign aid perpetuates Western domination and interference in the domestic affairs of Nigeria. It reveals that foreign aid has not enhanced development in Nigeria due to certain germane factors. It shows that foreign aid focus is often on macroeconomic indicators which do not fairly represent the realities of poverty and suffering of citizens in Nigeria. The study concludes that the development of nations is essentially but not exclusively, endogenous, and therefore Nigerian leaders must do away with those factors that undermine development. Over-dependency on aid does not guarantee development but rather continuous impoverishment and lack of independence on economic matters of the nation-state. The study recommends that Nigeria has both human and material resources, and therefore, should not rely on foreign aid for development and cushioning of poverty. Also, the leaders should be proactive and transparent in policy formulation and implementation geared towards development.

However, there has been a persistent agitation against this exclusion and the government has made some efforts through legislation to eliminate the disparity in Nigeria. The paper examined the Not Too Young Run Act (NTYTRA) and the Cost of Participating in Election: 2019-2023 General Elections. The paper is a time series research and adopts a qualitative method of data collection. The data collected was analyzed using content analysis. The paper is guided by one research question;-1) Does the astronomical cost of participating in an election hinder the youth from benefitting from NTYTRA? The research is anchored on Group theory as the theoretical framework of analysis and argues that interest is the primary propelling force that moves individuals to action especially, the political elites. The paper revealed that the increased cost of nomination forms and electioneering campaigns constitute a hindrance to the youth. The paper concludes and recommends that there is a need to formulate laws to reduce the cost of electioneering; this will encourage equal and fair political competition in Nigeria.

It is increasingly shaping developments in almost all aspects of human activities including education, communication, sports, lifestyle and particularly, politics. Individuals and groups have employed the instrumentality of the social media to effect changes in governance and society. This study therefore, examines the roles social media played in providing platform and empowering groups to fight against repressive regime in Egypt. In the light of this, the study therefore is guided by two research questions: (1) Did effective use of social media facilitate the mobilization of pressure groups during the 2011 uprising in Egypt? (2) Did the activities of pressure groups on social media led to changes in Egypt's political structure? The study adopts qualitative method of data collection and invariable the qualitative content method of data analysis. The study utilizes the communication theory as its theoretical framework of analysis. It shows that the effective use of social media facilitated pressure groups activities in Egypt during the 2011 uprising. It also demonstrates that the activities of pressure groups on social media led to changes in Egypt's political structure. The study concludes that social activism, reinforced by social media played crucial roles in bringing political changes in Egypt during the 2011 uprising.

The study adopted system theory as a theoretical framework of analysis and survey method was utilized for the collection of data through questionnaire administration in six (6) local government areas among the 3 senatorial districts of Edo State. The simple percentage and mean were used to analyze the data. Three hundred (300) questionnaires were distributed out of which two hundred and seventy eight (278) were completed and returned representing 92.7% of the sampled population. The responses of the 278 respondents were used for data analysis of the study. The findings revealed that: Only 35% of the people have benefitted from poverty alleviation programme in Edo State. It was also revealed that lack of funding is one of the major problems militating against poverty eradication programmes in Edo State in particular and Nigeria in general and that the incidence of poverty is still high in Nigeria irrespective of the various poverty alleviation programmes of the government. Based on the findings, the following recommendations were advanced: Edo State Government should create more entrepreneurial skill and youth empowerment and development centres to empower the youths who are mostly affected by poverty; Government should create industries at the same time revive the existing ones in order to boost the economy and create job opportunity for the youth; proper allocation of funds should be channeled into various poverty alleviation programmes of the government to ensure vibrancy and continuity.
