Abstract

Purpose of this study is to review some critics to conventional economics in some aspects, i.e., theory, culture, ethics, and system.  At the same time this study aims at searching some solutions for healthy economics (Islamic Economics).  The data used in this study are Law No. 3 of 2006 on religious courts, Law No. 2 of 1992 on insurance, data from National Zakat Board, and data from Bank Indonesia.  The methodology used is qualitative method using descriptive analysis and literature review.  This study concludes that there have been many criticisms of the conventional economic by conventional economist as well as by experts of Islamic economics. To that end, there should be Islamic solution in the economic field.  Solution of Islamic economics can be done by Islamic market integration strategy into economic activities through zakat, waqaf, Islamic social security, Islamic justice system and Islamic financial institutions ( Islamic Banks, Takāful, and Rahn). Kata Kunci : kritik, ekonomi konvensional, ekonomi Islam.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat volatilitas Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) pada Jakarta Stock Exchange. Adapun teknik analisis yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity (GARCH) dan Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity (ARCH). Kenormalan distribusi tingkat return pada JII dianalisis untuk menjawab apakah returnnya tersebar secara normal atau tidak. Dengan menggunakan data JII dari januari 2015 sampai dengan januari 2018 (724 data harian), ditemukan bahwa distribusi dari return JII tidak menyebar normal. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa return dari Jakarta Islamic Indeks sangat berfluktuasi.  Adapun implikasinya adalah akan diperoleh keuntungan yang sangat tinggi dan kerugian yang sangat besar pada satu hari.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this article is to critically examine how the implementation of the MUI DSN Fatwa No. 92 of 2014 concerning financing accompanied bycontract rahn at PT. Procurement, Jakarta. Design/Method/Approach : A qualitative approach is applied in this study, with design an exploratory research. The analysis unit is PT. Procurement, Jakarta. While the library research, and interviews are used as the main instruments in collecting relevant data.Findings: In general, this study succeeded in identifying several important things, namely: First, that between DSN No. 92 of 2014 with the practices applied by PT. Procurement, Jakarta, is appropriate. Secondly, Islamic Pawnshop is relatively new as a financial system. This is one of the obstacles for PT. Procurement, Jakarta, in operating Islamic products.Originality/Value: This research is believed to be important and significant in contributing to the theory. Especially, in terms of filling in the blanks of examplars of theories about the conformity of the DSN Fatwa No. 92 of 2014 with practice, especially at PT. Procurement, Jakarta.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Debt Policy (DER) on Financial distress (Altman Z-score Modification) and the influence of Managerial Ownership (MOWN), Dividend Policy (DPR), Profitability (ROA), Liquidity (CR), Company Size (SIZE), to the Debt and Financial distress Policy. This paper also looks the indirect effect of Debt to Financial distress Policy. The data is analyzed by using path analysis. Based on the Lisrel output results, the covariance matrix of path model estimation is not statistically different from the sample data covariance matrix. The population in this research is companies, which are registered in JII period 2013-2016. By judgment sampling technique, only 20 companies are obtained. Total data of this research is 80 company data. This study finds that debt policy is negatively significant to Financial distress. Managerial ownership and liquidity do not significantly affect debt policy. Dividend policy, profitability, and company size have no effect on debt policy. On the other hand, Managerial Ownership, Dividend Policy, Profitability and Company Size as a whole affects the Financial distress. However, simultaneously Managerial Ownership, Dividend Policy, and Company Size are negatively insignificant, while Profitability and Liquidity have a positive effect although not significant to Financial distress company. From the calculation of direct and indirect influence, it is known that the indirect influence is bigger than direct influence.

Abstract

The development of the fisheries sector in Indonesia should get more attention, especially in efforts to increase fishing businesses, limited financial access is still a problem that must be faced by the fisheries sector. Thus, Islamic banking can play a significant role in providing financing for the development of national fisheries. This study analyzes the factors that influence fisheries financing in Islamic banking in Indonesia and how efforts to increase fisheries sector financing. The processed data source is the monthly statistics of the Islamic banking industry from October 2014 to May 2019, and the method of analysis of this study uses VAR / VECM. The results showed that the NPF and PUAS affect fishery financing in the short term negatively and significantly. Whereas in the long term INF, NPF, PUAS, and ISBIS negatively affect fishery financing, as for CAR, and FDR affects fishery financing positively. Furthermore, SBK, and MRP do not affect fishery financing, both short-term and long-term. This study recommends an increase in the proportion of fishery financing along with an increase in Islamic banking capital, increased monitoring of fishery financing, and strengthening of national monetary policy instruments.

Abstract

This paper aims to design the roadmap of Holistic Financial Inclusion (HFI) by Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT), where Baitul Maal carries out social inclusion and Baitut Tamwil carries out financial inclusion, using Analysis Network Process (ANP). The results show that the most important aspects of HFI are Sustainability, Development Program, Financing Program and Islamic Microfinance Services, while the most important elements of HFI are regular meeting, micro savings, simplicity and easy access, consumption smoothing, bailout debt, savings program and income increase, followed by funding independent, total deposits, mindset change, and micro financing. HFI of BMT could be developed gradually. At the first stage, BMT should have the minimum 16 elements of HFI comprising 4 (four) Social Inclusion elements, 4 (four) Financial Inclusion elements, 4 (four) Double bottom-Line elements and 4 (four) Welfare Impact elements. At the second stage, BMT should add the next 16 elements comprising 5 (five) Social Inclusion elements and 3 (three) Financial Inclusion elements, 5 (five) Double Bottom-Line elements and 3 (three) Welfare Impact elements. Moreover, at the third stage, the remaining 24 elements of HFI should be fulfilled. All Islamic financial institution must have the characteristic of HFI.

Abstract

This study aims to find constraints or problems in applying accountability, find solutions and strategies that can be done by nazhir and related institutions, namely Ministry of Religion and BWI using the ANP (Analytical Network Process) method. This research was conducted in the period 2015 to 2018. The results of this study indicate that many problems in the implementation of accountability include people's understanding of waqf is still low, nazhir is not professional, the system is inadequate, nazhir is not transparent and BWI and Ministry of Religion are not optimal. The implications of this research are in the form of a theory of problem mapping formulation, accountability strategies and solutions that can be applied by nazhir, BWI and Ministry of Religion as productive waqf management organisations to increase their productivity to improve the welfare of the people.

Abstract

The present study aims to uncover the problems, aspects, solutions and strategies of halal travel and tourism in North Sumatera, Indonesia. This study employs Analytic Network Process (ANP) methods in three steps, first, problem decomposition, pair-wise comparison questionnaire, and synthesis and analysis. ANP also used to gather the opinion and responses from the experts. From this study, it was found that the problems of improving halal travel and tourism based on their level of significance are as follows: Environment, Access and Services, and Communication. Meanwhile, the priority of aspects to improve halal travel and tourism based on their level of significance are environment, access, services, and communication. Similar to problems and aspects, solutions based on their level of significance are environment, access, services and communication. In addition, top three strategies that recommended from this study are ecosystem, destination, and accessibility and connectivity. The findings of this study are also furnished with some recommendation from the industry perspective and stakeholders of halal travel and tourism.

Abstract

Todays, Supply Chain Management (SCM) becomes one icon of strategic factors to achieve a competitive advantage. This is a SCM case study in agroindustry especially crude palm oil (CPO) at PT. Eka Dura Indonesia (PT EDI), Astra Agro Lestari, Riau. The objectives of study is mapping of SCM problems of PT EDI, especially about value advantage and productivity advantage. Beside that, the objectives is building a SCM simulation model as strategic tool for developing strategy to achieve a competitive advantage. A system approach and modeling is used to analyze SCM problems. This study is successfully to build SCM Model that consist of SCM Strategic Model and SCM Tactic Model. SCM Model is used for simulating some scenarios about site management, supply schedulling, and tank management to CPO forecasting. From this model, the study also develops strategy chain for SCM to achieve a competitive advantage
